Abstract

This research is a class action (classroom action research). The aims this research is to determine whether the use of CD learning about triangles and rectangles can increase the activity of students and student learning outcomes class VII.7 SMP Negeri 1 Banjar Margo in the academic year 2015/2016. Based on the analysis, obtained an average student activity before the action amounted to 42.53%, the average student activity first cycle of 65.33% and the average student activity cycle II 74.00%. Means the average activity of students has increased by 15.7%. The average results of student learning the first cycle of 56.7 and an average student learning outcomes cycle II of 65.3, an average of learning outcomes increased by 15.2%. Before remedial many students who pass the study in the first cycle of 16 students (53.3%), it increased 5 students (16.7%) from the prior action. And the second cycle students who pass the study were 21 students (70.0%), it increased 5 students (16.7%) of the cycle I. Based on the results of classroom action research conducted and the discussions that have been described, it can be concluded that the use of CD Lesson in Math learning materials triangles and rectangles can increase the activity and student learning outcomes VII.1 grade SMPN 1 Banjar Margo, Tulang Bawang in the academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to obtain the procedure of ceramic motif design with through merging some objects flat geometry by concept of transformation. The research method covered the ceramic motif design with axis symmetry pattern and central symmetry pattern, which are constructed from triangle and circle. Finally, we simulate the design of ceramic motif by using computer software Maple 12.

Abstract

The aim of this research to analyze the essence of Junior high student learning outcomes Darul Arafah is still relatively low it is seen that the value of the student learning outcomes that achieve minimum completeness criteria (KKM) is still much below the passing standard, so it is still far from what is expected. From the analysis it can be concluded as follows: 1) There is a noticeable difference the average student learning outcomes are taught using methods of collaborative learning with an average of the learning outcomes of students who are taught with methods of discovery learning on the subject of integers students in grade 7 SMP Darul Arafah Sukajawa the school 2015/2016. 2) The average results learning collaborative learning method is lower than the average student learning outcomes are taught using methods of discovery learning on the subject of integers grade students grade 7 SMP Darul Arafah Sukajawa the school 2015/2016.

Abstract

The interested thing to study on the teaching and learning strategies in elementary school is the understanding of the development of the learners at once the uniqueness that is required the teachers on identifying suitable actions (behavior in children) as a goal that can be achieved in the teaching, the activities and the learning experiences for certain age groups, and the evaluation system to be used. Therefore, this reason become strong in order to the teaching system that was developed by the teacher is expected to be increasingly able to serve the requirements of the individual learner (individually guided education) and the teaching become interested and meaningful for children. Moreover, the purpose of this study to describe the use of numbers board media. It is used to improve the learning outcomes of the mathematics subject which calculate the Additional Operation and Integer Reduction material, especially at remote rural schools. In addition, the purpose is to determine the extent of the effectiveness of the use of numbers board media to improve the mathematics achievement which calculates the Additional Operation and Integer Reduction material in class IV SDN Bektiharjo VI Kecamatan Semanding. The data that used were obtained from the test results and observations of the students in the process of the teaching and learning by the number of 24 children. The result of this study that was obtained by the observation from the teacher to the students on the learning process has increased in each cycle. In the first cycle of the observation has the total score is 52 and it has increased on the second cycle which has the total score is 69. Furthermore, the result of the students’ mathematic subject which the school standard value of SDN Genaharjo VI is 70 was also increased from the first cycle of the total value in 1650 with an average of 68.7 and the second cycle of the total value in 2030 with an average of 84.5.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of the open-ended and CTL approach in terms of creative thinking. This research was quasi-experimental study design with nonequivalent pretest-posttest design goup. The research population was all students in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sekampung which consisted of five classes. The research sample consisted of two classes is determined randomly. First experimental group was treated the open-ended and experimental group II were treated CTL approach. The one sample t-test carried out to investigate the effectiveness of the open-ended and CTL approach. Data collection techniques used were tests. Engineering tests used to measure student creative thinking on basic competencies: 1) identify the properties of a rectangle, square, trapezoid, parallelogram, rhombus and a kite; 2) calculate the circumference and area of a rectangle up and use it in problem solving both before and after treatment. The results of the research show that the open-ended and CTL approach is effective in terms of creative thinking. Keywords: open-ended, contextual teaching and learning, creative thinking

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement of student’s mathematical proving ability applying modified Moore method and conventional learning model in the subject of Algebra Structure. This research is a quasi-experimental research design using a nonequivalent control group design and used purposive sampling is as much as 41 students. The technique of collecting data used the mathematical proving ability test. Data were analyzed using two-step statistical descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The research findings show that: 1) the mathematical proving ability of students who applying the Moore modified method significantly better than that students of applying the conventional learning model. 2) the improvement of the mathematical proving ability student that applying the Moore modified method of learning with a significantly better and more evenly than that students applying the conventional learning model. Based on these research, it can be recommended that learning algebra structure with modified Moore method can as an alternative method of learning to improve the mathematical proving  ability.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student activity. Many factors influence the results of student learning, including learning system used in presenting the subject matter inappropriate, as well as the lack of students understand the concepts being taught. Based on the results of the pre-survey, retrieved the data value of the Mid Semester Even-Numbered Years Lessons 2014/2015 that of the 23 students there are 13 students who are learning or mastery of 56,52%. It takes the efforts of teachers to choose the model of learning material appropriate to each lesson. For the average activity of students obtained an increase in the activity of learning from 52,42% on cycle I became 64,2%5 in cycle II. As for the student learning outcomes there is also increased, the average results of the learn cycle I is 63,54, while on cycle II increased to 70,65 and success of the student learning at the end of the cycle reaches 81,09. It was concluded that the reciprocal teaching model, can improve the learning results of activity and grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Metro.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design by using Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) based on intuition approach and Conventional Learning (CL) conducted to investigate enhancement of students mathematical communication ability. Population of the research is seventh grade students in one of the Junior High School in Kampar district Riau Province, amounting to 175 students. The sampling research using purposive sampling techniques to choose two classes totaling 66 students who homogeneous characteristics. Before the experiment, the students are classified into high, medium, and low level of prior  mathematical ability. The instruments of research are daily test results and a mathematical communication ability test. The research found that the enhancement mathematical communication ability of students who received CRA based on intuition approach are better than those of students who recieved CL reviewed based on overall students, students of high level prior mathematical ability, students of medium level prior mathematical ability, and students of low level prior mathematical ability. Other findings, there are differences in enhancement mathematical communication ability of students between level of prior  mathematical ability (high, medium, and low) who received CRA based on intuition approach

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low of mathematics learning result of grade V student of SD Negeri 6 Metro Utara. The purpose of this research was to know the influence of realistic mathematics education (RME) approach to the result of V grade student mathematics. The type of the research was experiment research. The design used in this research was quasi experimental design. Population research is all of students V grade, the sample consists 26 students VA class and 27 student VB class. The determination of research sample used purposive sample. Data collection tools used questionnaires and cognitive tests. The data analysis was used t-test pooled varians. The learning results of this research was limited only to the cognitive domain. The result showed that there was a significant influence on the application of realistic mathematics education (RME) approach to the students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test non-equivalent group design. The population in this research is all of the students on class X in SMA Negeri 1 Marga Tiga and the sampling technique is total sampling. Data are collected by documentation and test. Data are analyzed with descriptive statistics to compare the mean scores of N-Gain  obtained by each student.  The results of the analysis shows that (1) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with cooperative learning STAD is higher than the conventional learning, (2) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with wingeom software in cooperative learning STAD is higher than the conventional learning, (3) the student’s geometry problem solving ability with wingeom software in cooperative learning STAD is higher than without using wingeom software. This research shows that the cooperative learning STAD by using the wingeom software has a significant effect on the high school students’ geometry problem-solving ability. The finding of this research shows that the students are still having difficulties in solving the problems, especially when the students have to look back whether the finishing is right or not.
