This study analyzed the mathematical problem solving strategy that combines a backward step and reasoned logically to answer the High School Olympic level problems related to number theory for the district, national, and provincial level which are often issued from year to year. The mentioned problem is more about the application of number theory problem, which is determine a number and the value of the questioned number. The study began by analyzing some Olympic problems. These problems are answered and resolved by a combination of mathematical problem solving strategies, which are backward step and reasoned logically. Implementation of this solving problem should also be adjusted with Polya step which is consists of four stages. Polya step is used to give better structured problem solving. Compared with trial and error method, this analyze can give an effective combination to determine a number and the value of a number.

This study aims to decide the effect of learning models on the ability to solve mathematical problems seen from student learning motivation. Learning model used is FSLC and conventional learning model. This type of research is a quasi experiment. The population in this research is the students of class VIII SMP N 1 Trimurjo academic year 2017/2018. The sample of this research is taken by using cluster random sampling technique with sample in experiment class as much as 32, and control class counted 31. The result of this research are as follows: 1) There is difference of problem solving ability between student learning by using FSLC learning model and model of learning conventional. 2) Problem-solving abilities in highly motivated students are better than those with moderate motivation and problem-solving skills in better-motivated students than low motivated students. 3) There is no interaction between FSLC and conventional learning model and learning motivation toward math problem solving ability. The FSLC learning model provides better mathematical problem-solving skills than conventional learning models in both high and medium motivations.

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models (STAD by problem solving method, STAD, and conventional) on mathematics achievement viewed from student creative attitude. The type of the research was a quasi experimental research. The population was the students in grade VIII junior high school in Central Lampung Regency. The conclusions of the research were as follows. (1) Students who taught by cooperative learning model of STAD by problem solving method type give better mathematics learning achievement than STAD type and conventional and then students who taught by cooperative learning model of STAD type give better mathematics learning achievement than conventional (2) For students who middle and low creative attitude, students who taught by cooperative learning model of STAD by problem solving method type give better mathematics learning achievement than STAD type and conventional and then students who taught by cooperative learning model of STAD type give better mathematics learning achievement than conventional.

In mathematics, matrices have many uses, they are finding solutions of a linear equation system, looking for specific solutions of differential equations, determining state classification on Markov chains, and so on. There is a special matrix in matrix theory, that is a diagonal matrix. The diagonal matrix is a matrix whose all non-diagonal entries are primarily zero so that the product of the diagonal matrix can be computed by considering only the components along the main diagonal. A square matrix can sometimes be formed into a diagonal matrix. If a non-diagonal square matrix A can be conjugated with a diagonal matrix, then there is an invertible matrix P so PAP-1=D, where D is a diagonal matrix and P is said to diagonalize A. To find a square matrix diagonalizable or not, many researchers usually use eigenvalues and eigenvectors evaluation. In this study, we discuss that the other way to form a diagonal matrix by using Minimum Polynomial Algorithm.

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student creativity. The learning model compared were RME with problem solving, RME with problem posing on conventional. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental research. The population was the students of Junior High School in Surakarta city on academic year 2012/2013. The samples of this research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples consisted of 269 students who were divided into 90 students in the first experiment class, 90 students in the second experiment class, and 89 students in the control class. The result of research showed that: (1) RME with problem solving provided better learning achievement than RME with problem posing and the conventional model. The RME learning model with problem posing provided better learning achievement than conventional one, (2) the students having high creativity had better learning achievement than those having medium and low creativity. The students having medium creativity had better learning achievement than did those having low creativity, (3) students taught by using RME with problem solving having high creativity level had better learning achievement than those having medium and low creativity level and students having medium creativity level had learning achievement as good as the low creativity level. Students taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model had equal learning achievement in each level of creativity, and (4) students having high creativity level taught by using RME with problem solving had better learning achievement than those taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model. Students having high creativity taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model had equally good learning achievement. Students having medium and low creativity level had equal learning achievement in each learning model.

The aims of this research were to increase the activities and the result of study by implementation of cooperative learning model type think pair share. The method of the research was Classroom Action Reserach. The instrument of data collection used observation sheet and test. Technique of data analysis used qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result showed that the student activity in cycle I 62,54% (active) and cycle II 78,27%(active). The result study of the cognitivie in cycle I 71,70% (good) and cycle II 78,61% (good).

The objective of this research is to find the phenomenon and design the learning with the characteristics of realistic mathematical approach and the scientific approach for the procedure of constructing the line for the angle. This research is research and development which still on the table experiment stage that choose the topic stage, subject matter, concept, and scenario in relevant situation type with the concept. In the development stage obtained the first stage instructional design to determining the seat of advertising tower founded crossroads of three roads selected as a context for learning that leads students beginning in accordance with the characteristics of realistic mathematics approach.the initial design of the first stage of research development was implementation, by tested to three students of mathematics education level II semester 3 at one of the private university on December 2017. The result of design instructional tasted show that begins with the context of establishing advertising tower at the intersection of three streets can be used as an alternative design of line learning for angles. This design is in accordance with the characteristics of a realistic mathematical approach and will be more effective if students are adept at using GeoGebra and using the software in the learning process.

The purpose of this research are: (1) To know which learning model give better learning to result between ATI teaching model with CTL, ATI and conventional approach, (2) to know which gives better learning result among students who have discipline of high, medium and low (3) To know whether there is interaction between learning model and learning discipline to mathematics learning achievement.The type of research is quasi experimental research (quasi experimental). Instruments used were mathematics achievement test, questionnaire, and documentation instrument. The data were analyzed by using two-way variance analysis with unequal cells.The conclusions of this study are (1) Learning outcomes with ATI learning model with CTL approach is better than ATI and conventional model, while the ATI learning model is better than conventional. (2) Students' learning outcomes with higher learning discipline are better than those with moderate and low self-discipline, while students with discipline are better than those with low discipline. (3) There is no interaction between the learning model and the discipline of learning on mathematics learning achievement.

This study aims to know the extent to which the use of Matlab simulation media based conceptual Interactive can overcome the difficulties of students in understanding the Linear Equation System in the course of Numerical Analysis and improve student understanding. This study is a classroom action research, which is carried out in two cycles. Research subjects as many as 25 students grade 7C Prodi Mathematics Education University PGRI Madiun academic year 2016/2017. Research instruments are researchers, learning observation sheets, concept comprehension tests, student response questionnaires and interview guides. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of Matlab simulation media based on conceptual interactive in learning can increase the students understanding on Linear Equation System. This is shown by the improvement of students' ability in understanding the system of linear equations in each cycle. The data is also supported by a positive response given by students in learning.

The aim of this study was to develop a module of mathematics at the junior high school level class VIII. It is based on the observation of books or teaching materials used in schools is an informative and not involve students in the learning process. This study develops a mathematical module VIII Junior High School class-based constructivism. Constructivism approach chosen by reason will lead students in finding and independently formulate a mathematical concept. This type of research is the development of research (Research and Development), which is intended to develop modules Junior High School math class VIII-based constructivism. This research subject is class VIII student at Junior High School 2 Metro, Junior High School 4 Metro and Junior High School 6 Metro. When the study for two years in which the first year to implement the development of modules and the second year of implementing use of modules developed and seen the results of student learning. Implementation of the research in the first year has been implemented which reached the stage of expert validation and testing of the small scale of the development of junior high school math module VIII class-based constructivism
