Abstract

This paper presents the definition, samples, and natures of isometric and isometric- m algebra operator for some  in  Hilbert space. In additions, the relationship of both operators will also be examined. To investigate natures of isometric and isometric- m operators, adjoint operators concepts and natures are required. Adjoint operator concept underlies isometric operator’s natures. Later, according to the concept, isometrc operator is expanded into isometric- m operators for some in Hilbert space. The result unveils algebra natures of isometric and isometric- m operators consisting of composition operators natures and multiplication with scalar. Furthermore, if T operators is isometric then T operators isometric- m for some .

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of  learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student creativity. The learning model compared were discovery, group investigation and conventional. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental research. The population was the students of Junior High Schoolin Surakarta city on academic year 2012/2013. The samples of this research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples consist of 281 students who were divided into 94 students in the first experiment class, 94 students in the second experiment class, and 93 students in the control class. The results of this research are as follows: (1) the discovery learning model results in better learning achievement than the group investigation and conventional learning model. The group investigation learning model results in an equal learning achievement to the conventional learning model, (2) the students having high level of creativity have better learning achievement than those having medium and low levels of creativity. The students having medium level of creativity have an equal learning achievement to those having low level of creativity, (3) on the discovery learning model, students having high creativity have better learning achievement than those having medium and low levels of creativity and students having medium level of creativity have an equal learning achievement to those having low creativity. On the group investigation model, students in each level of creativity have the same learning achievement, (4) the students who were tought with the discovery learning model have better learning achievement than those taught with the group investigation and conventional learning model in the category of having high level of creativity. The students who were tought group investigation and conventional model results in an equal learning achievement in the category of having high level of creativity. The students having medium level of creativity have an equal learning achievement to those having low level of creativity in each learning model.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the results between student given learning mathematics instruction in the subject of trigonometry using a scientific approach and which does not use a scientific approach in the Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika PGRI Pontianak. The method used is the method of experimental research, the research form quasi-experimental design. This is because the educational research often are difficult to control manipulate all relevant variables. Results of this study are average student results provided scientific approach that is equal to 24.06 of a maximum score of 40. That is the percentage of scientific learning outcomes of 60.15% (quite enough). While the average student results are given learning without a scientific approach that is equal to 20.72 of a maximum score of 40. That is the percentage of learning outcomes without scientific amounted to 51.8% (relatively low). It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who are taught using a scientific approach is better than the learning outcomes of students who are taught not to use a scientific approach.

Abstract

The objectives of this research is examine the impact of learning motivation of students in algebra matrix. Data collection techniques used in this study is the observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The population in this study is a second semester student of Mathematics Education in UNSIKA Karawang. This research used purposive sampling techniques that have one class into the sample. In this study the researchers used one shot case study design. It is the result of observation after treatment. Indicators and variables that measured is learning achievement that includes the value of the midterm as the independent variable and final exams as the dependent variable. Data analysis is using Wilcoxon signed rank test. In the Wilcoxon signed rank test (, n,) showed that the learning motivation significantly increasing the value of UTS and UAS. The value of  Means there is an increased motivation to learn students from UTS to UAS. This shows that the impact is positive motivation to learn. Therefore, the motivation has positive benefits for increase the value of UTS and UAS college students.

Abstract

Every student generally has multiple intelligences with different level, one of which is visual-spatial intelligence shown by the ability to visualize an object. To acquire this kind of intelligence one can utilize media. This research, aiming at developing such a media, uses ADDIE model which is designed based on printed media which then followed by designing the electronic ones. Subjects of the research are 9 students selected by random technique. The research result electronic quiz media which can be utilized by students in interpreting 3D objects into 2D ones or vice versa.

Abstract

Teaching materials are needed for students to support the lecture. The purpose of this study was to determine how to develop problem-based teaching materials on the subjects of mathematical economics mathematics education courses. This research was conducted at the University of Muhammadiyah Metro by selecting a student of mathematics education as a research subject.This study is a research development. The method used as follows: (1) research and information gathering, (2) planning, (3) product development, (4) the initial trials, (5) product revision, (6) the field trials, (7) the revised product field trials, (8) the operational testing of products, (9) the revision of the product and (10) the implementation and dissemination. To obtain problem-based teaching materials will be validated teaching materials by 2 experts math education materials and one person linguists. The achievement of this research is problem-based teaching materials that can support economic mathematics lectures. The achievement that will be produced is ≥ 50% students of mathematics education are getting the optimal learning course on the math economy. Based on the results of questionnaires percentage obtained validation criteria of 80% of teaching materials and meet the criteria are valid for.

Abstract

In advanced calculus learning is needed teaching materials that can help students understand the concept. One of the teaching materials that can be used is by applying teaching materials that contains the problem of understanding the concept of advanced calculus. This instructional material can be arranged with inquiry-based. The research design used is Pre-Experimental Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. From result of research, obtained t count equal to 11,8 and t tabel equal to 1,645 mean value of concept comprehension after given instructional materials advanced calculus based on inquiry is significantly better than before using advanced calculus based instructional materials inquiry. Based on the results of data analysis concluded that the instructional materials advanced inquiry-based advanced calculus developed effectively can improve the ability of students' concept of understanding on advanced calculus learning.

Abstract

Fraction is one of the complex material in elementary school. This study aims to describe how students represent fractions on a number line, and describes the mistakes made in the students represent fractions on the number line. This research is qualitative. Subjects in this study there are two students class V of SDN Tamping Mojo II. The data collection method using a task-based interviews. Instruments in this study is the researchers themselves and supporting instruments is a task sheet and interview guidelines. Based on this research, how subjects represent fractions on a number line: fractions with the same denominator on the number line, the subject of linking the amount of parts in the interval of 0 to 1 as the denominator, the subject of linking the amount of the line that divides the interval of 0 to 1 as the denominator, the subject of fractions sort of fractional numerator. Fractions with denominators are not the same on the number line, the subject of fractions with denominators sort biggest, subject to name a point regardless of its parts. Fractions on the number line at a specified point (the same parts and the parts are not the same), the first subject tends to count the number of lines that divide the number line into sections of the same count the number of parts that are formed to be the denominator, the second subject occurs misconceptions with jump number. Fractional mixture on the number line, the two subjects can not represent. Mistakes made by the two subjects are conceptual errors and application errors.

Abstract

Appropriate learning models contribute to student learning interest in math. The purpose of this study is to describe the difference in effectiveness between scientific approach based on group investigation and discovery in terms of student's interest in learning. The research that is conducted is quasi experimental research and the design used is 2 x factorial description. In experimental class I that apply scientific approach model based on study group investigation obtained the average value of learning outcome of 66.60 while in the experimental class II applying the approach Science-based discovery learning obtained the average value of posttest of 76.28. Based on the marginal rate, the scientific approach to discovery-based learning on moderate interest in learning outcomes is higher than the learning outcomes at high and low interest. In the scientific approach based on group study investigation and discovery learning there are differences in average learning outcomes between high, medium and low interest. Scientific approach based on group investigation learning on higher interest in learning outcomes is higher than moderate and low interest.

Abstract

This research aims to develop worksheets students (worksheets) based on this Mathematics Education (RME) to improve the matematical ability of elementary school student. The subject of this research is the students of class V Elementary School of Muneng and students in grade 5 Elementary School of Pulerejo 3. The type of this research is the Research and Development, with development model Four-D (4D), which is divided into 4 stages, namely : stage defining (define), stage design (design), development stage (· develop), spreading stage (disseminate). This research done only until the development phase (develop). The products of this research is a Worksheet Students (worksheets) based on this Mathematics Education (RME) a syllabus, denunciating, worksheets, and THB through Fax Banking. The results of the study showed that the average validity is 82,689% stated valid, the results of the average convenience of a limited test is 88,75% and field tests is 80.7% stated practical, and the results of the average effectiveness of limited test is 89,33% and field tests 86% is declared effective. Based on the results of research that the students work sheet (worksheets) based on this Mathematics Education (RME) on the matter arose space stated valid, practical, and effective and improve the matematical ability of elementary school student so that it can be used in the mathematics teaching.
