Abstract

The purpose of this research is developing the cooperative model by using the realistic approach in Mathematic Statistics I. As the form of development and research, collecting data done through  observation method, questionnaire, interviewing, and a test. The step of  this research are introduction study, plan, develop and evaluation. Based on the introduction study, was developed of cooperative instructional and realistic approach instructional. Syntax in cooperative instructional model done by realistic approach  is running well and  there are  increasing of activity, response and student’s learning achievement, and difference of  probability explanation using realistic approach. Syntax instructional of the model are 1) material explanation 2) group discussion by using context, model, alternative in problem-solving and finally concluding of all, 3) the group member is given the quiz individually, and 4) the score and reward are given to the group. Keywords: cooperative instructional model, mathematic statistics I, realistic approach

Abstract

Sesuai dengan Standar Isi pada Permendikbud Nomor 64 Tahun 2013, salah satu kompetensi pada muatan matematika SMA/MA/SMALB/PAKET C dan SMK/MAK/PAKET C KEJURUAN tingkat kelas X-XI adalah menunjukkan sikap logis, kritis, analitis,  kreatif, cermat dan teliti, bertanggungjawab, responsif, dan tidak mudah menyerah dalam memecahkan masalah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, perlu dikembangkan model penilaian yang tepat untuk salah satu kompetensi matematika. Salah satu kompetensi yang dapat dikembangkan adalah sikap kreatif yang dapat terbentuk melalui proses berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini secara khusus bertujuan untuk mengetahui prinsip-prinsip penilaian yang digunakan untuk mengkur kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan menghasilkan produk berupa model penilaian yang tepat digunakan pada pembelajaran matematika berbasis kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam jenis penelitian research and development (R & D) bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model penilaian pada pembelajaran matematika berbasis kemampuan berpikir kreatif.Hasil analisis dari tujuh butir soal berpikir kreatif yang telah dikembangkan untuk materi geometri SMK, menunjukkan bahwa soal layak digunakan sebagai alat evaluasi untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of PISK, STAD and conventional approach to the mathematics achievement viewed from student activities. This research was a quasi experimental using 3x3 factorial design. The populations of the research were all students of senior high school in Sukoharjo Regency. The sampel was 9 classes and it was taken using stratified random sampling technique. The instruments used to collect data were student activities questionnaire and mathematics achievement test. The requirements test for data included the population normality test using Lilliefors method and the population homogenity variance test using Bartlett method. The balance test toward student’s early ability in mathematics data using unbalance one-way analysis of variance and it was concluded that experimental and control classes had balance prior knowledge in  mathematics. The testing of hypotesis using unbalance two-way analysis of variance. The conclusion of this research shows as follows. (1) Students taught by PISK cooperative learning model had better mathematics achievements than students taught by STAD cooperative learning model and conventional model. In addition, STAD cooperative learning model and conventional model gave the same mathematics achievement. (2) Students in high activity had better mathematics achievement than students in middle and low activity; also students in middle activity had better mathematics achievements than students in low activity. (3) There was an interaction between learning model and activity toward mathematics achievement

Abstract

The objective of this research and development is to develop teaching materials of mathematics on social arithmetic based on Islamic values that are feasible, practical, and effective. This research type is Research and Development (R&D). The model used in this research is consisting of 10 stages. The instruments of data collection used the questionnaires and evaluation questions. The questionnaires are consisting of design, material, and Islamic content. The result of the research is the average of validation percentage is 82,3%, so the teaching material is categorized as feasible. Based on the validation process showed that the teaching material that developed is included the feasible category, with an average percentage are 82.3%. While the results of small group trial showed that the responses of students in the pilot phase of small groups from 16 students are obtained  87.5%, and the result from the test is obtained the average more than 75% of the students who score more than the standard of 75.00. From the results of this research can be concluded that the teaching material of social arithmetic is feasible, practical, and effective.

Abstract

Error analysis is integral part of mathematics learning. This qualitative research aims to describe the types and causes of student errors in solving combinatorics problem based on cognitive style. Subjects are high school students with field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD) cognitive style. Error analysis refers to Newman's error analysis. FI and FD students have same errors that are comprehension error at stage of understanding problem; processing skills error and encoding error at the stage of carrying out the plan. The causes of the errors are viewed from the cognitive factors, namely understanding students' concepts in solving problems. FI students have a deeper understanding and make careless error while the FD students have a lack of understanding of the concept which cause more error. The cause of errors in both students is also due to the accumulation of errors at stage of understanding problem.

Abstract

The aims of the research is to describe the thinking process at senior high school students in solving the application problems of the derivative function viewedfrom personality type choleric. The research was a descriptive qualitative. The subjects of the research were students of class XII Senior High School 1 Surakarta, who has personality type choleric. The results of the research showed that thinking process students in solving the application problems of the derivative function for choleric student: (a) reading the problem and creating an image, understanding who is known to convert information into mathematical form, and looking the problem able to know the things in question, (b) devising the planning well, connecting the first equation with the planned solution, solving problem according to the planned solution but only using one way solution, (c) substituting the answers into the first equation and determining maximum value of the function

Abstract

The ability to evaluate learning is a basic skill that must be mastered by students as prospective teachers. Based on this, it is necessary a teaching materials that help students and lecturers during the lecture. Students can know and understand about learning evaluation. In addition, the existence of teaching materials can help students to improve students' skills in understanding the material. In order for students to learn independently and adapt to technology, e-learning is needed based on teaching materials where lecturers do not have to guide students one by one, but the students can also help each other with the help of internet. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah University of Metro and the subject of the research was 6th semester students consisting of 2 classes. Class A as an experimental class whereas class B as control class. The development of e-learning-based teaching materials uses the main 4-D development model of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate or adapted into 4-P model, defining, designing, developing, and deploying. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Teaching materials based on e-learning can support lecturing evaluation of learning in mathematics education program. This can be seen from the percentage of student response questionnaires of 80% that fulfill the criteria is quite valid; 2) Teaching materials based on e-learning can optimize student learning outcomes. This can be shown in student learning outcomes that achieve optimal learning outcomes of 87.5%

Abstract

This research has aims to determine the effectiveness of learning model Think-Talk-Write (TTW) and determine whether the learning TTW modelis more effective than conventional learning to improve student mathematical communication. The research is a quasi experimental research. The populationin this research were all students ofthe second semester in Mathematics Education department. They are divided into four parallel classes. Samples were IIA2 class as the control class and the IIA1 class as a class experiment in Number Theory lesson. The instrument in this researcsh was test of mathematical communication. The analysies of data use SPSS 16, the proportion test of one population, and t test. The hypotesis tests use the proportion test of one population and t test. Based on the results of this research were concluded that : (1) The mathematical learning by learning model Think-Talk-Write is effective to improve the mathematical communication students. It can be proved fromthe results of proportion testonan experimental class of mathematical communication valueis 1.87 > z table with a significance level 5%. Z table is 1.64. (2)The learning model Think-Talk-Write more effective than conventional approaches. It can be proved from the results of t test. The value of mathematical communicationis 2.07 >t table with a significance level 5%. t table is 1.67.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe arithmetic algorithm on transaction em­ployed by Blij h. The study was a qualitative approach by means of case study in Madurese community. The data were gathered through observation and interviews. The partisipants of this study were 8 Blij h living in Paiton, Probolinggo. The data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman model. The results of this study obtained some arithmatics algorithm of addition, subtraction, multipication, and division. This paper, however, will only focus on addition and subtraction algorithm. The data reveals that there are several differences in the algorithm used by Blij h and the one taught at school. The results of this study could be used as one of teaching and learning approach to develop numerical and mental calculation skills.

Abstract

This study aims to look at improving student learning outcomes in the materials division using a thematic approach based teaching materials. This research is a classroom action research (Claassroom Action Research) with a research subject graders IIA MI Ahliyah 2 Palembang, the second semester of 2014/2015 the number of students 28 people, consisting of 14 male students and 14 female students. This study was conducted by two cycles following the model of a Class Action Research & McTaggart Kemmis models which consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The process of collecting data by using observation and tests. Based on this research, the data obtained in the first cycle who scored ≥ 70 there were 17 students with learning completeness percentage amounted to 60.71% of students had reached the indicators of success and the second cycle there are 23 students who reached a value ≥ 70 on the percentage of students learning completeness by 82 , 14% had reached an indicator of success. With the student response rate reached 76.56% in the first cycle and the second cycle reaches 81.25%. It can be concluded that learning by using a thematic approach based teaching materials division performed in this research was effective, because it can improve student learning outcomes in the distribution of matter in class IIA MI Ahliyah II Palembang
