Abstract

ABSTRACT SMEs Echo Food and Rr Rahayu, located in Batu, produce peanut paste. Unfortunately, they has low efficiency and production because production facilities still manually. The long duration during milling process causes reducing time production. Therefore, the quality and quantity of the product cannot be maximal. The need for technological innovation over the production process will be able to improve the performance and quality of health functional beverage production. The results that have been achieved in the implementation of IbM activities include facilitating the transfer of technology in the form of milling machine and frying machine which has been applied by partners, guidance on improvement of production and management system includes quality control, GMP and log book for business management, and training, socialization and mentoring improved packaging design and marketing on-line. The results showed an increase in production efficiency with shorter time, increased quality packaging and products value is higher so that SMEs can increase profits.

Abstract

This community service was carried out to support the fish farmers in solving their problems. The problems identified during the initial survey were: high feed cost, low survival rate of cultured fish and shrimp, disease outbreaks and lack of production and financial management. Workshop, training and applying a simple technology was introduced to the selected farmers. Some activities conducted were: (1) providing two hand refractometers and a pelleting machine, (2) workshop of local-ingredient based fish feed production, (3) workshop of probiotics production, (4) training of production and financial management, (5) demo-pond. Farmers have been able to produce local-ingredient based fish feed and probiotics as well as to apply a simple production and financial management. The demo pond results showed that introducing of hand refractometer for adaptation period could increase the survival rate of fish and shrimp  up to 25%. Furthermore, by applying local-ingredient based fish feed and probiotics during the culture periods, the fish famers could increase the income from fish production up to 50.1%.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTThe business of snack food is an prospective of a business that is most preferred by many people because it does not need a lot of capital, simple, and profitable. In Batu city, there are two members of SMEs that produce stick functional are KHARIS and LUBER REJEKI. The advantages of this snack food can be consumed by all segments of consumers with affordable prices and safe for consumption. During the 2nd SMEs doing the majority of the production of onion stick manually, especially in the process of mixing and shaping of stick are not maximum production capacity, only 5 kg per hour. These activities include the dissemination methods of production equipment technology such as Food Mixer and Shaping of Stick Automatic and mentoring of GMP. The results showed that facilitation Food Mixer and Shaping of Stick Automatic can improve the efficiency of 2-4 times, as well as the level of understanding of GMP for SMEs are better.

Abstract

The business group located in Desa Kesamben, Blitar has business in the diversification of essential oil products. This business group is experiencing difficulties in expanding its business due to lack of innovation in producing volatile essential oil and inbuilt economic management. This activity helps the business group in developing the innovation of essential oil products through the creation of blending aroma. The training provided aims to make this business group able to mix the aroma of essential oil so that the product produced can be accepted by the consumers and have a distinctly different aroma. This essential oil-based wind oil product can be the product of "prima donna" from Blitar regency.

Abstract

Abstrak Peternakan ayam merupakan usaha yang mempunyai resiko tinggi, karena munculnya berbagai macam penyakit yang dapat menimbulkan kerugian ekonomi yang cukup besar. Inovasi baru pencegahan dan pengobatan penyakit dengan pemanfaatan herbal. Herbal yang  banyak diteliti adalah coconut virgin oil (VCO). VCO stabil dalam pemanasan, dan tidak mudah teroksidasi. Manfaat VCO antara lain sebagai antioksidan, antibakteri, antivirus, antijamur, obat cacing, sumber nutrisi, menurunkan kolesterol, mengobati diabetes, memperbaiki penyerapan instestinal terhadap nutrisi, antikanker. Pada ibu hamil dan menyusui, VCO memudahkan bayi menyerap nutrisi, vitamin, mineral dan melindungi bayi dari penyakit infeksi.Pengabdian IbM ini mengacu hasil penelitian Pradhikta dkk. (2013), bahwa VCO-Plus (VCO + asam amino + multivitamin) yang diberikan selama tiga hari berturut-turut, dosis 1 ml/ kg BB, dapat meningkatkan produksi telur 75 % ayam-ayam yang produksi telurnya sudah menurun 60%. Pada pengabdian IbM dilakukan sosialisasi kepeda peternak: 1) Biosekuriti beternak ayam; 2) Manfaat VCO-Plus.  Peserta ibu-ibu,  diberikan demo pembuatan produk olahan dari telur, sebagai salah satu cara pemanfaatan produk ayam. Selain penyuluhan, diberikan: 1) Buku tentang menejemen pemeliharaan ayam petelur, manfaat VCO-Plus, cara pembuatan VCO, sosis jamur-ayam, chicken nugget sayur-ayam; 2) Produk VCO-Plus untuk diaplikasikan pada ternak ayam; 3) Pada kelompok ibu-ibu, diberikan seperangkat peralatan untuk membuat produk olahan dari telur. Kepada Mitra-1, Mitra-2 dan beberapa peternak diberikan VCO-Plus untuk diaplikasikan pada ayam yang mengalami penurunan produksi dan kualitas telur, dan diberikan pada ayam yang sedang sakit.Hasil yang diperoleh dari pemberian VCO-Plus selama 3 hari berturut-turut dengan dosis 1 ml/kg BB: 1). Dapat meningkatkan produksi dan kualitas telur dengan produksi optimum dicapai pada hari ke-7/8 dari awal pemberian VCO-Plus; 2). Dapat memperbaiki kondisi tubuh hewan yang sedang sakit.Dapat disimpulkan, bahwa VCO-Plus mengandung nutrisi, energi, multivitamin, asam amino, antioksidan, antiinflamasi, imunostimulator, antimikroba, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produksi dan kualitas telur, serta dapat memperbaiki kondisi hewan.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to produce an economical water spray driven by cow dung biogas. It is able to remove heat stress from a dairy cow. The initial step for equipment installation is a survey and literature study on the most appropriate water spray points on dairy cow and generation of biogas-fueled electric energy.  To produce an economical spray, experiments were performed to determine the change in cow body temperature after sprayed with water for 10 seconds.  The maximum output was obtained in 10 seconds spray with 6 minutes interval each with total electrical power required is 0.29 kWh or equal to 0.23m3 biogas.

Abstract

Dietary fiber in alginate of Sargassum crassifolium is one way to reduce high cholesterol level. The purpose of this researchshowedthe effect of crude extract alginat powder for reduced lipid profile on rats.The crude extract alginate powder was given orally to hyperlipidemia rats at the doses level of 100 mg/kg, 200 mg/kg, 400 mg/kg, and 800 mg/kg body weight for 20 days. The method of profile lipid analyse used CHOD PAP and GPO PAP.  The result showed that the growth of weight body and feed consumption did not give a significant effect (p>0.05), in the other hand it has a significant effect (p<0.05) on the cholesterol level , trygliseride level, HDL level, LDL level, VLDL level and cholesterol level in feses. For 20 dayscrude extrac alginate Sargassum crassifolium reduced cholesterol total level for 800 mg/ dl body weight as much as 50,43%, 200 mg/dl to 40,45%, 100 mg/kg to 34,73% and control (+) which used simvastatin to 42,23%.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country known for its cultural diversity. Getting to know the culture of a nation which starts from an early age is needed to foster national values to form the nation's character. However, the cultural lesson is not a favorite subject for student todays. For this reason, we need efforts to bring the matter of culture to be fun and interesting to learn. Related to primary school students, the ways of learning by playing is much preferred. Recently, the game can be simulated by using computer technology. Therefore, it is possible to develop computer games based learning media. The activities carried out in this community service activity include the design and manufacture of culture learning games package. After that, the training about using the game as learning media is conducted for primary school teacher. Based on the analysis results of a questionnaire given during training showed that the game are made is easy to operate, to understand and to play. Similarly, the benefits provided are considered significant in terms of giving out a fun learning experience, helping to evaluate learning outcomes and decent used to support teaching and learning process.

Abstract

Duck role as a producer of meat in Indonesia, according to statistics in 2010 remained low at only can meet the needs of 6.4 thousand tons from 14.3 thousand tons duck, so the lack of meat reached 7.9 thousand tons. Prospects duck broiler farming is very promising, especially in the area of Malang city and surrounding areas including travel Batu city, which has a lot of demand for broiler ducks in line with the increasing number of food stalls vegetables there. The location is at the community service Borogragal village, Donowarih Village, District Karangploso, Malang city. The main goal of this program is a community service Borogragal village particularly broiler breeding ducks. This community service is a core problem faced with the high cost of raising broiler ducks and waste for animal feed which has not been managed well. Of the existing problems, we provide alternative solutions to the problem of the program activities of community service by using probiotics as a mixture of waste used as animal feed ducks broiler by the way to ferment the waste, with the hope that the public can examine the use of waste as animal feed, knowing excellence probiotics as a mixture of animal feed, as well as capable of producing probiotic independently. The results of this public service activities in the form of probiotics used in mixed feed using household waste from villagers borogragal itself and agricultural waste in the village. On the other hand, the feed waste is fermented using probiotics able to be digested well by the ducks and can reduce feed costs incurred for breeding ducks. It tersebt evidenced by FCR obtained value is 2.85 with a value of SR 91.6%, it can reduce the cost of production and improve incomes. Besides his herd hamlet formed Borogragal able to enhance the spirit of the community to produce cattle back.

Abstract

Fish apartment is a device used by fishermen for aggregating and locating their fish target. Problem arised from apartments managed by local fishermen locals are not as many that managed by fisherman andon. Besides, the fish apartment used is contructed by using toxic material (dioxin compound) which is caused several environmental problems. Therefore, creating community services by using fish apartment made from Plastic Polypropilen (PP) and controlled by community group, those problems are accomplished. This is beneficial for increasing community involvement for their environment through this joint activities to create fish apartment which later used for increasing fish catch in order to enhance public welfare.Methods used for this activity arranged as four stage. First, developing the Tawangsari community group (POKMASWAS Tawangsari) and Tawangsari business group (KUB Tawangsari). Second, generating workshop on designing and determining potential location of fish apartment. Third, producing fish apartment, and the last is setting fish apartment. The series of activities lasted in seven months from May to November 2016.
