Abstract

AbstractThe main problem in catfish hatchery is low productivity and survival rate (SR). The aim of this work was to evaluate the application of artemia in catfish hatchery. Artemia was administered to 100,000 catfish larvae for 3 days with the total of 602 gr. The results showed that 70,000 catfish juveniles with size of 2-3 cm were obtained under artemia application. The survival rate of this study was 70%. It can concluded that probiotic application was able to improve the survival rate and the feed conversion ratio in catfish culture.

Abstract

Often the location of dairy cattle farms is far from KUD shelter/processing becomes a real obstacle to maintain the quality of milk from a review of health. Moreover, the problems of availability of non-renewable energy for small entrepreneurs is burdensome in terms of price. Potential utilization of the Tepas village becomes an important things to synergize between the workman of wood cutter and the farmers of dairy cattle. Therefore, this journal aims is to create a pasteurization tools fueled of woodsawdust briquettes. The first step is studying literature and field surveys which is used as a basis in designing the briquette molding equipment and hearth of pasteurization in the model of 2D / 3D CAD design. The next step is making dough of woodsawdust with adhesive starch and then pressed by briquettes molder. The briquettes which have finished is used as a heat source of pasteurization tube with LTLT (Low Temperature Long Time) methods to reach temperatures of 650°C within 30 minutes. Pasteurized milk can be stored at room temperature within safe 3 days which means could saving the transportation fuel around Rp. 740,000, - per month.

Abstract

Problems that often arise in the process of freezing semen is  destruction of the plasma membrane because the sperm membrane contains unsaturated fatty acids are highly susceptible to peroxidation damage. α-tocopherol is an antioxidant that  reduce damage due to peroxidation. The purpose of the study was to determine α-tocopherol antioxidant supplementation in diluter on   plasma membrane integrity after freezing process. Semen was collected using artificial vagina from  goat aged  2 to 2.5 years in normal reproduction. The design used was randomized block design with treatment dose of a different α-tocopherol (0 grams, 0.2 grams, 0.4 grams, 0.6 grams) in 100 ml of extender. The results showed that the percentage  to   plasma membrane integrity equilibrated at a dose of 0.4 g (75.46%) was higher (P <0.05) compared with a dose of 0.0 g (73.78%), and the dose of 0.6 g (72.93%), but did not differ (P> 0.05 ) with a dose of 0.2 g (75.46%).  Plasma membrane integrity  examination results at  post thawing  at dose of 0.4 g (73.16%)was  higher (P <0.05) than a dose of 0.0 g (69.8%), 0.2 g (71.53%), 0.6 g (70.7 %) respectively. It was concluded that supplementation of antioxidant α-tocopherol 0.4 ml is the best dose to maintain  membrane integrity of semen frozen of goat.

Abstract

Trawas district is a major agriculture district producing fruits and vegetables. Based on the type of agriculture products, there are business actors engaged in processing agricultural products into sweet potato chips. However, there are many obstacles to produce sweet potato chips in Belik Village and Jaten Village at Trawas District. Because the processing of sweet potato snack chips is still done in a very simple way in the process of enumerating a monotonous form of products. The impact of quality and quantity of production is not good so it has not been able to compete with other cassava snack products. This low production efficiency due to limited production technology (cutter tool sweet potato) is still monoton resulting in less productivity, quantity and product quality.
