Abstract

Momasoro is a boat release, a ritual of the Lauje tribe that is carried out at the end of each year as a form of gratitude to the Creator who provides fertility for the crops and life for plants and animals. Momasoro is a means of treatment that is believed by the Lauje tribe. The results of the study indicate that the meaning of the nonverbal message contained in the Momasoro traditional ceremony procession of the Lauje Tribe is based on several aspects. Kinesics are seen from the movements and facial expressions of officers in the Momasoro traditional ceremony procession during the process of circling the boat while mogumbuy and when dancing Meaju to deliver the boat on the beach. Paralinguistics are seen from the mongganoy process (reading prayers using rhythm) accompanied by sinta, gong and dotolan musical instruments performed by one of the traditional elders in Ogoansam Village. Artifacts are seen from the equipment that has been provided by the traditional elders and the Lauje Tribe community in Palasa District.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the self-adaptation of inmates at the Sungguminasa Class IIA Women's Correctional Institution which can be achieved by fulfilling basic needs. This type of research is descriptive qualitative and uses observation, interviews and documentation of inmates as research informants consisting of backgrounds on different criminal cases, sentences and time spent serving their sentences. The research results show that self-adaptation efforts are achieved by fulfilling basic needs which include fulfilling physiological, psychological and social needs. Furthermore, self-adaptation is achieved by implementing habits and skills that can and encourage them to gain self-confidence in arranging a new life. Furthermore, self-introduction efforts by recognizing and knowing each other's weaknesses and strengths as well as self-adaptation are achieved by self-acceptance by accepting themselves as prisoners free from shame and worry about other people's views of them.

Abstract

The phenomenon of personal branding is increasingly evident on social media, with TikTok emerging as one of the most popular digital platforms for this purpose. Its extensive user base enables individuals to reach a wide audience through visual and audiovisual content, fostering interaction with followers. Prabowo Subianto, the Minister of Defense and a potential candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election, is one political figure utilizing TikTok to build personal branding. This study aims to describe Prabowo Subianto's personal branding through the @partaigerindra TikTok account. Employing qualitative descriptive research methods, the study delves deeply into data to provide insights into Prabowo Subianto's personal branding phenomenon on TikTok. Findings reveal that Prabowo's personal branding incorporates the eight laws proposed by Montoya and Vandehey. His efforts have generated a positive perception, evident through netizens' comments on Gerindra Party's posts. The strength of Prabowo's personal branding on TikTok serves as a competitive advantage for the 2024 Election.

Abstract

Key Opinion Leader s are individuals who have great influence in a particular industry or community, especially in the context of marketing and promotions. The aim of this research is to analyze marketing communication strategies in building brand awareness of local Indonesian beauty products. The method used is qualitative descriptive research with an interactive analysis technique approach in analyzing data. Data collection was carried out by interviews, observations and documentation studies. The research results show that the marketing communication strategy combines several existing strategies, namely KOL selection strategy, creative content creation, unboxing content with PR packages, and hard selling content.

Abstract

The K-pop phenomenon has become one of the major forces in the global music industry. Not only trending in South Korea, K-pop has taken the international stage with a large and diverse fan base around the world. However, the appeal of K-pop is not only limited to the music aspect; this phenomenon also affects various aspects of teenagers' lives, including their communication style and consumptive behavior. This study aims to determine the communication style and consumptive behavior of fashion innovation kpopers in Surabaya. This research uses a qualitative approach by spreading google forms on social media, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter. The results of this study show that the existence of K-Pop has changed communication patterns between fans and expanded interactions through social media. In addition, the K-Pop industry also encourages consumptive behavior among fans with increased interest in Korean pop culture merchandise (fashion).

Abstract

The use of social media, specifically Twitter, has a significant impact on teenagers' lives and their communication styles. Teenagers often use Twitter as a platform to share information, photos, videos, tweets, and engage with others through comments and likes. The @FiersaBesari Twitter account is an influential account that shares a variety of content including upset and encouraging quotes, jokes, poetry, and response to current problems. The account is popular among teenagers due to its unique and expressive language style. The research conducted on this topic used descriptive qualitative methods, which involved describing and analyzing the social activities, attitudes, beliefs, perceptions, and thoughts of individuals and groups. The study found that Twitter is widely used by teenagers as a source of the latest information that is easily accessible to anyone. Moreover, the communication style of the @FiersaBesari account is interactive, and it has influenced teenagers to comment using a poetic language style that aligns with Fiersa's unique writing style.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the Tinder application in forming social closeness and intimacy among students, using the Social Information Processing (SIP) theoretical framework. The method used is literature study, which involves critical analysis of scientific articles, journals, and other relevant library sources. The research results show that Tinder users utilize app features such as profiles, bios, and messaging systems to build initial impressions, reduce uncertainty, and gradually reveal more personal and emotional information. This process is in line with SIP principles, where text-based communication can facilitate the formation of social closeness comparable to offline interactions, although it takes longer. Furthermore, it was found that relationships formed through Tinder follow development stages similar to offline relationships: orientation, affective exploration, affective exchange, and stability. This research confirms that Tinder, although limited to text-based communication, can facilitate the formation of meaningful social closeness and intimacy among students and expand the application of SIP theory in the context of modern communication technology.

Abstract

Tourism is one of the economic sectors that has great potential in increasing regional and national income. Bukit Waruwangi tourist attraction located in Serang Regency, Banten Province has great potential to attract both domestic and foreign tourists who contribute directly to the economy through various sectors such as accommodation, transportation, and culinary. Therefore, in the increasingly fierce competition in the tourism industry, an effective marketing strategy is needed to increase the attractiveness and visibility of a tourist attraction, through designing a mascot visual design as a strengthening identity that can be applied to various merchandise.

Abstract

UBY Public Relations has had an extraordinary role in improving the image and multinational cooperation at UBY in the last 3 years. The aim of this research is to describe the role of UBY Public Relations in efforts to increase multinational cooperation. This research was studied using the Excellent Public Relations theory by Grunig. Data collection techniques were carried out using in depht interview, observation, and documentation. The research result show that: a) Public Relations is involved in all activities related to cooperation; b) Public Relations uses social media to disseminate information; c) Public Relations as a center for information related to cooperation; d) Public Relations empowers its team through jobdesk division; e) Public Relations acts as a communicator; f) Public Relations carries out two-way communication; g) Public Relations provides internal opportunities to provide criticism and input regarding Public Relations performance; h) Public Relations prevents acts of discrimination within the institution.

Abstract

This research aims to determine environmental collaboration between the government, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the community in reducing plastic waste in Makassar City. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The research results show that collaboration between the Makassar City Environmental Service (DLH), the Peduli Negeri Foundation (YPN), and the community has shown success in reducing plastic waste. Through educational campaigns, waste bank programs and supportive government policies, this collaboration has succeeded in increasing public awareness and participation in efforts to reduce plastic waste. Good coordination and synchronization between government, NGOs and the community is the key to the success of this collaboration. The government provides regulations, policies and infrastructure, while YPN focuses on education and outreach, and the community plays an active role in sorting waste and participating in recycling programs.
