Abstract

Mangrove degradation in Bandar Lampung, specifically Kota Karang, Teluk Betung Timur, has left only 9,86% or 6 hectares, causing habitat loss and increased greenhouse gas emissions. This study identifies deficiencies in the government-led mangrove management system, emphasizing individual management leading to overlapping responsibilities and a lack of coordination. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, incorporating primary data from observations, interviews, and documentation, alongside secondary data and literature studies. Observations encompass the assessment of biophysical elements, ecological indicators, and mangrove reduction due to land conversion. Literature studies focus on identifying soil types, water pH, dissolved oxygen levels, mangrove vegetation types, and principles of integrated landscape management. SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threats) analysis considers stakeholders roles, disaster risks, land conversion, pollution, over-exploitation, and community participation. Findings prompt five strategies: community empowerment, eco-friendly tourism, cross-sector cooperation, enhanced monitoring, and mangrove rehabilitation. Recommendations, rooted in integrated landscape management, target all stakeholders, with a focus on government involvement. This holistic approach addresses identified issues, striving for enhanced mangrove ecosystem sustainability through collaborative efforts and strategic planning, emphasizing the need for coordinated stakeholders action in mangrove conservation. Keywords:  degradation, land conversion, stakeholders, SWOT analysis.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Al-MCM-41 adalah material padatan berpori yang tersusun dari silika amorf, memiliki struktur membentuk susunan heksagonal dengan ukuran pori antara 2-50 nm, sehingga dikategorikan sebagai material mesopori. Dalam pembuatan Al-MCM-41 membutuhkan sumber silika dan alumina yang tinggi sebagai bahan pembuatannya, sehingga dibutuhkan bahan yang kaya akan kedua senyawa tersebut sebagai bahan alternatif dalam pembuatan Al-MCM-41. Rumus formula kaolin adalah Al4(Si4O10)(OH)8 dengan komponen mineral utamanya  adalah SiO2  dan Al2O3 Kaolin yang digunakan berasal dari bangka belitung dengan kandungan SiO2 sebesar 61% dan Al2O3 sebesar 31%, kandungan SiO2 dan Al2O3 yang cukup tinggi dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pada sintesis material aluminosilikat seperti Al-MCM-41. Sintesis Al-MCM-41 dari kaolin dilakukan dengan metode hidrotermal. pH yang digunakan sebesar 10, dengan suhu 80°C selama 12 jam pada proses hidrotermalnya. Al-MCM-41 hasil sintesis dianalisa menggunakan XRD dan FTIR dimana pada analisa XRD sudut pendek menunjukkan 3 puncak pada 2θ= 2.237°, 3.921°, 4.449° dan XRD sudut panjang pada 2θ= 21.449°. Analisa FTIR untuk Al-MCM-41 menunjukkan pita serapan pada bilangan gelombang 436.49; 802.47; 1146.41; 1630.61; 3389.79 cm-1. Kata kunci: Al-MCM-41, hidrotermal, lempung, mesopori, pH ABSTRACT  Al-MCM-41 is a porous solid material composed of amorphous silica, has a structure forming a hexagonal array with a pore size between 2-50 nm, so it is categorized as a mesoporous material. The manufacture of Al-MCM-41 requires a high source of silica and alumina as materials, so materials rich in both compounds are needed as the development of materials used in the manufacture of Al-MCM-41. Kaolin (Al4(Si4O10)(OH)8) is a white clay mineral, the main minerals are SiO2 and Al2O3. The kaolin used comes from bangka belitung with a SiO2 content of 61% and Al2O3 of 31%, the high content of SiO2 and Al2O3 is utilized as an ingredient in the synthesis of aluminosilicate materials such as Al-MCM-41. The synthesis of Al-MCM-41 from kaolin was carried out by hydrothermal method. The pH used was 10, with a temperature of 80°C for 12 hours in the hydrothermal process. The synthesized Al-MCM-41 was analyzed using XRD and FTIR where the short angle XRD analysis showed 3 peaks at 2θ = 2.237°, 3.921°, 4.449° and long angle XRD at 2θ = 21.449°. FTIR analysis for Al-MCM-41 showed absorption bands at wave numbers 436.49; 802.47; 1146.41; 1630.61; 3389.79 cm-1. Keywords: Al-MCM-41, clay, hydrothermal, kaolin, mesopore, pH

Abstract

This study aims to obtain bioethanol according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 7390:2012, obtain Gasohol according to the RON (Research Octane Number) standard in Pertalite, and produce alternative fuels that are more environmentally friendly. The bioethanol production process includes hydrolysis, fermentation, distillation, and adsorption, with Saccharomyces cerevisiae to ferment sugar in pineapple skin into ethanol with a content of 59.62% from a 5-day fermentation process with 4% Saccharomyces cerevisiae, 0.5% urea, 0.5% NPK. Bioethanol is then mixed with Pertalite in the composition of E5 (5 ml of bioethanol mixed with 95 ml of Pertalite) to E25 (25 ml of bioethanol mixed with 75 ml of Pertalite), lowering the flash point of the mixture from 29.8°C (E5) to 28.0°C (E25), increasing the density from 0.7239 gr.(cm3)-1 (E5) to 0.7250 gr.(cm3)-1 (E25) and the viscosity from 0.41 cSt (E5) to 0.49 cSt (E25). Still, the octane number (RON) tends to be stable at 91.4-95.6. As a result, the bioethanol content is close to SNI 99.5%, the bioethanol-Pertalite mixture improves several parameters but lowers the flash point, and the E25 mixture meets the RON standard of 95.6 for Pertalite.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Sebagai tahap awal dalam siklus hidup tanaman kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), praktik pembibitan kelapa sawit menjadi aspek penting yang memerlukan evaluasi lebih dalam. Pemahaman mengenai dampak lingkungan pada fase pembibitan adalah kunci untuk merancang strategi pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan, mengurangi kerusakan ekosistem, dan mencapai keseimbangan antara produksi dan konservasi alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak lingkungan pembibitan kelapa sawit di Unit Pembibitan Kelapa Sawit (UPKS) Politeknik Negeri Lampung menggunakan pendekatan penilaian daur hidup atau life cycle assessment (LCA). Studi ini difokuskan pada penilaian daur hidup gate-to-gate yang dilaksanakan dari Oktober hingga Desember 2023. Data dikumpulkan melalui kunjungan lapang dan wawancara dengan pengelola UPKS. Ruang lingkup LCA dimulai dari penerimaan kecambah hingga bibit siap salur. Permodelan dampak lingkungan menggunakan openLCA versi 2.0.3 dengan metode CML-IA baseline dan database pendukung Agribalyse v3.0.1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum pembibitan kelapa sawit memberikan dampak lingkungan yang tidak signifikan. Kontribusi dampak lingkungan terbesar berasal dari dampak sekunder, khususnya marine aquatic ecotoxicity sebesar 190.52122 kg 1,4-DB eq. dan abiotic depletion (fossil fuels) sebesar 5.65733 MJ. Dampak primer potensi global warming (GWP100a) sebesar 0.27033 kg CO2 eq. yang dominan berasal dari penggunaan polybag dan potensi human toxicity sebesar 0.08227 kg 1,4-DB eq. Upaya pengurangan dampak lingkungan dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan pot tray yang dapat digunakan berulang kali atau alternatif polybag dari bahan organik, kombinasi pupuk anorganik dan pupuk organik untuk mengurangi dosis pupuk anorganik, dan mengurangi laju evapotranpirasi dari tanaman dan media tanam dengan penggunaan mulsa organik dan media tanam yang mengandung bahan organic. Kata kunci: dampak lingkungan, kelapa sawit, LCA, pemanasan global, pembibitan ABSTRACT As the initial stage in the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) plant life cycle, oil palm seedling cultivation becomes a crucial aspect that requires in-depth evaluation. Understanding the environmental impact at the seedling phase is critical to designing more sustainable management strategies, reducing ecosystem damage, and achieving a balance between production and conservation. This study aims to present an environmental impact analysis of oil palm seedling cultivation at the Oil Palm Nursery Unit (UPKS) of Politeknik Negeri Lampung using the life cycle assessment (LCA) approach. This study focuses on a gate-to-gate life cycle assessment conducted from October to December 2023. Data were collected through field visits and interviews with UPKS managers. The LCA scope covers from seed acceptance to ready-to-distribute seedlings. Environmental impact modeling used openLCA version 2.0.3 with the CML-IA baseline method and supporting database Agribalyse v3.0.1. Results indicate that oil palm seedling nursery generally has an insignificant environmental impact. The most substantial contributions come from secondary impacts, mainly marine aquatic ecotoxicity at 190.52122 kg 1,4-DB eq. and abiotic depletion (fossil fuels) at 5.65733 MJ. Primary impacts are potential global warming (GWP100a) at 0.27033 kg CO2 eq., primarily from polybag use, and potential human toxicity at 0.08227 kg 1,4-DB eq. Efforts to mitigate environmental impacts can be achieved by using reusable pot trays or organic material-based polybags as alternatives, coupled with a combination of inorganic and organic fertilizers to reduce the dosage of inorganic fertilizers. Additionally, curtailing evapotranspiration rates from plants and growing media can be accomplished by employing organic mulch and growing media enriched with organic matter. Keywords:  environmental impact, global warming, LCA, nursery, oil palm

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Energi, terutama dalam bentuk listrik merupakan salah satu kebutuhan esensial bagi manusia. Untuk memproduksi listrik dibutuhkan berbagai macam proses, termasuk melalui kombinasi pembangkitan tenaga gas dan uap. Dalam proses produksi, suatu Pembangkit Listik Tenaga Gas dan Uap (PLTGU) menghasilkan berbagai macam jenis limbah, diantaranya yang terkategori sebagai limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3). Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi sumber timbulan dan mengevaluasi pengelolaan limbah B3 di suatu PLTGU di Kota Palembang, Sumatera Selatan. Metode yang digunakan berupa observasi detail dan analisis kepatuhan pengelolaan limbah B3 berdasarkan peraturan perundangan yang berlaku. Selama masa observasi, limbah B3 yang dihasilkan berupa minyak pelumas bekas atau oli bekas, sludge oil, kain majun bekas, kemasan bekas B3, filter bekas dari fasilitas pengendalian pencemaran udara, limbah terkontaminasi, sludge IPAL, dan limbah kimia hasil analisis laboratorium. Secara umum, PLTGU tersebut telah melakukan pengelolaan limbah B3 dengan memadai, terutama di tahapan pelabelan, pengemasan, dan penyimpanan. Pengangkutan dan pengolahan limbah B3 dikerjasamakan dengan pihak ketiga yang telah memiliki izin terkait. Pengelolaan limbah B3 di suatu industri menjadi penting agar tidak menimbulkan dampak negatif ke lingkungan dan kesehatan manusia. Kata kunci: evaluasi, limbah B3, pengelolaan, PLTGU ABSTRACT Energy especially in form of electricity is one of essential needs for human. To produce electricity, various processes are needed, including a combination of gas and steam power generation. In the production process, a Combined Cycle Gas-Fired Power Plant (CCGP) generates various type of wastes, including those categorized as Hazardous and Toxic Waste. The study aims to identify sources and to evaluate the hazardous waste management at a gas and steam power plant located in Palembang City, South Sumatra. The method used was detailed observation and analysis of hazardous and toxic waste management compliance based on applicable laws and regulations. During observation period, hazardous and toxic waste generated including used lubricating oil or used oil, sludge oil, used cloth, used hazardous and toxic packaging, used filters from air pollution control facilities, contaminated waste, sludge WWTP, and chemical waste resulting from laboratory analysis. In general, the gas and steam power plant has managed hazardous and toxic waste adequately, especially in the labeling, packaging and storage stages. Transporting and processing of hazardous and toxic waste was carried out in collaboration with third parties who have the relevant permits. Hazardous and toxic waste management in an industry is important so that it does not cause negative impacts to the environment and human health. Keywords: evaluation, CCGP, hazardous waste, management

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perkembangan industri tekstil menjadi salah satu penyumbang terbesar limbah zat warna ke lingkungan yang berdampak pencemaran terhadap sumber air. Hal ini dikarenakan melalui hasil pengamatan langsung di lapangan kondisi air limbah yang dibuang masih berwarna pekat dan berbau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kinetika adsorpsi zat warna metilen biru menggunakan adsorben grafen oksida yang disintesis dari limbah baterai. Metode hummer digunakan dalam sintesis grafen oksida melalui penambahan asam sulfat. Studi kinetika adsorpsi dilakukan pada konsentrasi metilen biru 10-50 ppm serta variasi waktu adsorpsi 5-25 menit. Kondisi optimum diperoleh pada pada konsentrasi metilen biru 30 ppm dengan waktu 25 menit. Mekanisme adsorpsi yang terjadi mengikuti model Langmuir nilai R2 sebesar 0.92522 dengan nilai Qm= 99.1 mg.g-1 dan nilai K=0.325. Kata kunci: adsorpsi, graphene oxide, jurnal, teknik lingkungan ABSTRACT  The development of the textile industry is one of the main sources of dye waste I the environment, which means that the discharged wastewater is still concentrated and smelly when observed directly on the ground, thus contributing to water pollution. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between the concentration of methylene blue dye and the adsorption time and to determine the adsorption isotherm. For the synhesis of graphene oxide, the hummer’s method was used where graphite wes recombined with H2SO4 sulfuric acid and the adsorbed solution was measured using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Graphene oxide acted as an adsorbent by adsorbing methylene blue and the result showed that he optimum time and concetration was acheieved at a 30 ppm and 25 minutes.  The adsorption mechanism aligns with the Langmuir model, demonstrated by an R2 value of 0.92522, a Qm value of 99.1 mg.g-1, and a K value of 0.325. Keywords: adsorption, environmental engineering, graphene oxide, journal

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe use of disposable diapers contributes significantly to environmental issues. One approach to address this issue is to compost. The Takakura method offers a potential solution, although feces in diapers raises concerns about pathogen contamination. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and quality of compost produced from organic waste and disposable diapers using the Takakura method, focusing on fecal coli levels. Organic waste is a mixture of vegetable and fish waste in different proportions. The two treatments tested were 75% organic waste (vegetable/fish) + 25% diapers and 25% organic waste + 75% diapers, observed on days 10 and 20. On day 20, the 75% fish waste + 25% diaper mixture produced the lowest fecal colony level (33 MPN/g), meeting the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) No. 19-7030-2004. The decrease in fecal coli levels was due to microbial interactions, including lactic acid bacteria and Bacillus from fish waste, which have antimicrobial properties. This study shows that composting disposable diapers with the Takakura method and organic waste can produce compost that meets the standard, especially with 75% organic waste composition. Abstract

ABSTRAK  Buruknya kualitas udara menjadi salah satu masalah yang serius untuk kota-kota besar, khususnya Jakarta. Salah satu indikator dalam polusi udara adalah Particulate Matter (PM). Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh populasi penduduk, kasus kebakaran, luas ruang terbuka hijau (RTH), dan kadar karbonmonoksida (CO) terhadap kadar PM 2.5 di Jakarta menggunakan metode linear mixed model (LMM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa luas RTH memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap penurunan kadar PM 2.5 dengan koefisien negatif, artinya semakin luas RTH, semakin rendah tingkat polusi udara. Kadar CO juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap PM 2.5 secara mandiri. Populasi penduduk, meskipun tidak signifikan secara langsung, menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan ketika diinteraksikan dengan variabel lain terhadap PM 2.5. Di sisi lain, kasus kebakaran tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap polusi udara, bahkan interaksinya dengan variabel lain juga tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi pemerintah DKI Jakarta dalam menyusun regulasi dan kebijakan untuk mengendalikan polusi udara, terutama dengan memperhatikan pentingnya memperluas RTH dan mengendalikan kadar CO sebagai upaya mengurangi PM 2.5, serta mencegah dampak buruk kualitas udara terhadap kesehatan masyarakat seperti penyakit pernapasan. Kata kunci: kebakaran, kualitas udara, LMM, pernapasan, polusi ABSTRACT Poor air quality is a serious problem for big cities, especially Jakarta. This study examines the effect of population, fire cases, green open space (GOS) area, and carbon monoxide (CO) levels on PM 2.5 levels in Jakarta using the linear mixed model (LMM) method. The results showed that the area of green space has a significant effect on reducing PM 2.5 levels with a negative coefficient, meaning that the wider the green space, the lower the level of air pollution. CO levels also have a significant effect on PM 2.5 independently. Population, although not significant directly, shows a significant effect when interacted with other variables on PM 2.5. On the other hand, fire cases do not have a significant effect on air pollution, and even their interaction with other variables also does not show a significant effect. This research can serve as a reference for the DKI Jakarta government in developing regulations and policies to control air pollution, especially by paying attention to the importance of expanding green spaces and controlling CO levels as an effort to reduce PM 2.5, as well as preventing adverse effects of air quality on public health such as respiratory diseases. Keywords:  air quality, breathing, fire, LMM, pollution

Abstract

ABSTRAK Biaya energi total PT. Air Minum Bandarmasih Kota Banjarmasin melebihi rata-rata biaya energi nasional pada tahun 2022. Biaya energi yang tinggi disebabkan oleh kondisi topografi di Kota Banjarmasin yang relatif rendah dengan parameter kemiringan tanah hanya sekitar 0,13%. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan pemanfaatan energi potensial (gravitasi) menjadi kurang optimal dalam proses distribusi air. Salah satu upaya dalam menurunkan biaya energi adalah dengan mengoptimalkan operasional pompa menjadi efisien. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efisiensi penggunaan energi dengan metode perbandingan variasi operasional pompa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan meliputi pengukuran parameter kelistrikan, debit dan tekanan pada pompa distribusi zona BTBS; analisis efisiensi pompa; dan analisis potensi penghematan yang dapat dilakukan. Fokus penelitian dilakukan pada jam operasional pompa pada periode minimum pemakaian air (pukul 23.00 – 05.00). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan biaya listrik dengan operasional menggunakan 2 pompa lebih hemat (sebesar Rp 18.493.621,41 per bulan) dibandingkan operasional menggunakan 1 pompa. Operasional menggunakan 2 pompa memberikan efisiensi pompa rata-rata sebesar 55%, dibandingkan dengan operasional 1 pompa (18,93%). Bahkan potensi penghematan masih bisa dilakukan dengan meningkatkan frekuensi putaran pompa pada suatu batasan tertentu atau dengan menambah 1 unit pompa kapasitas 500 m3/jam. Kata kunci: biaya energi, efisiensi pompa, operasional pompa  ABSTRACT The total energy cost of PT Air Minum Bandarmasih Banjarmasin City exceeds the average national energy cost in 2022. High energy costs are caused by the relatively low topographic conditions in Banjarmasin City with a land slope parameter of only about 0.13%. This condition causes the utilisation of potential energy (gravity) to be less than optimal in the water distribution process. One approach to reducing energy costs is by optimizing the operational efficiency of the pumps. This study aims to assess the energy efficiency by comparing variations in pump operations. The research methodology includes the measurement of electrical parameters, flow rate, and pressure in the BTBS zone distribution pumps; pump efficiency analysis; and potential savings analysis. The study focuses on the operational hours of the pumps during periods of minimal water usage (from 23:00 to 05:00). The results indicate that using two pumps is more cost-effective (saving Rp 18,493,621.41 per month) compared to operating with one pump. The two-pump operation yields an average pump efficiency of 55%, compared to 18.93% for the one-pump operation. Furthermore, there is still potential for savings by increasing the pump rotation frequency within certain limits or by adding an additional pump with a capacity of 500 m3/hour. Keywords:  energy cost, pump operation, pump efficiency

Abstract

ABSTRAKPeraturan Daerah Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Nomor 1 Tahun 2011 dan Perda Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan (TTS) Nomor 10 Tahun 2012, menetapkan Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah (RTRW) Desa Pana sebagai kawasan pertanian pangan, perkebunan dan pertenakan kecil, serta non pertanian. Penentuan RTRW diperlukan analisis Klasifikasi Kemampuan Lahan, Tingkat Bahaya Erosi (TBE) dan Kualitas Kesehatan Tanah yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui daya dukung lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan yakni, klasifikasi kemampuan lahan merujuk pada PerMen LH Nomor 17 Tahun 2009, TBE menggunakan rumus USLE dan Kualitas Kesehatan Tanah menggunakan 12 indikator. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pemanfaatan ruang wilayah Desa Pana yakni, Satuan Lahan (SL2, SL3, SL6, SL8, SL10 dan SL13) sebagai kawasan pertanian, Satuan Lahan (SL2, SL3, SL4 SL6, SL7, SL8, SL10 dan 13) sebagai kawasan perternakan kecil dan Satuan Lahan (SL1, SL2, SL3, SL4 SL6, SL7, SL8, SL9, SL10 dan 13) sebagai kawasan non pertanian.Kata kunci : klasifikasi kemampuan lahan, kualitas kesehatan tanah, tingkat bahaya erosi ABSTRACT Regional Regulation of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Number 1 of 2011 and Regional Regulation of Timor Tengah Selatan Regency (TTS) Number 10 of 2012, stipulates the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Pana Village as an area for food agriculture, plantations and small livestock, and non-agriculture.
