Abstract

Abstract This research aimed at describing the use of directive act that comprised the form of directive command, (2) the function of directive command, (3) the strategy of directive command on the Lecturing Discourse at Master Program Indonesian Language of Graduate Program of Tadulako University. This research employed qualitative descriptive method. Data were gathered through two techniques: (1) recording, and (2) observation. The Subject of this research was lectures and student of Master Program of Indonesian Language of Postgraduate Program of Tadulako University, the 2012-2014 academic year. The technique of data analysis was interactive model. The analysis comprised four stages: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) verification/conclusion. The results show that on the Lecturing Discourse at Master Program of Indonesian Language of Postgraduate Program of Tadulako University, the act of directive command was stated in the form of command directive command, and it was an obligation. On the function of command, it was to limit the question and to ask explanation. Strategies applied on the act of directive command were direct and indirect ones. Direct strategy applied on the act of directive command and direct command with argument. Indirect strategy comprised indirect command act were adopted by lectures for the certain thing, and limiting kinds of question and statement. Form, function, and strategy of directive command act were adopted by lecturers for the certain aims, such as asking explanation to certain thing, and limiting kinds of questions stated by students in the process of instruction. One the students speech, the command was used to express common command with the function to command and ask explanation to other students. The choice of the strategy was related to the function of speech shared. Relating to this command, direct and indirect strategy can be used to express certain intention. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan metode cooperative script dalam upaya meningkatkan keterampilan membaca puisi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Sigi. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang dilakukan mengacu pada siklus pembelajaran yang dikemukakan oleh Kemmis dan Taggart. Siklus tersebut terdiri atas perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 7 Sigi. Data diperoleh peneliti melalui kuesioner dan hasil observasi keterampilan membaca puisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui metode cooperative script dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran membaca puisi, hal ini dapat dilihat pada hasil siklus I, diperoleh rata-rata 2,80 dengan persentase 70% dan siklus II diperoleh rata-rata3,14 dengan persentase 79%. Selanjutnya peningkatan hasil pembelajaran membaca puisi dilihat dari nilai rata-rata siswa yakni 72 pada siklus I yang meningkat dari kondisi awal dengan rata-rata 61,67 dan pada siklus II rata-rata meningkat menjadi 77,55 dengan KKM 75. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran membaca puisi dengan menggunakan metode cooperative script dapat meningkatkan keterampilan siswa pada pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dengan materi membaca puisi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini  menjelaskan tentang campur kode dalam debat calon presiden Indonesia 2014. Penelitian ini dirancang secara kualitatif dan dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk mengumpulkan datanya dan dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan perhitungan sederhana. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa diantara ketiga jenis campur kode menunjukkan penyisipan cenderung menjadi jenis utama campur kode yang terjadi dalam debat calon presiden (87,6%), diikuti oleh leksikal kongruen (10,1%), dan terakhir adalah selang-seling (2,2%). Fungsi campur kode paling sering digunakan adalah membicarakan tentang topik tertentu (33,3%). Ada dua fenomena campur kode dengan bahasa lain: Pertama, kebutuhan, jika tidak ada kalimat yang tepat dalam bahasa Indonesia yang dapat mewakili bahasa Indonesia, Kedua adalah karena pembicara ingin menunjukkan status sosialnya.

Abstract

The problem in this research was the students' ability in writing poetry that aimed to describe the level of students ability through the literary workshop method with the stage of pre-writing, whilst-writing, and post-writing by the students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 14 Palu. This research was classroom action research, through this research, observation were conducted in order to enhance the students' ability in writing poetry using literary workshop. The study design used the research design by Kemmis and MC. Tanggart. The research was coducted in 2 cycles covering every cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The indicator of individual criteria of succes was 70% and classical criteria of succes was 75%. The aspects were assessed in writing the poem; object, diction, rhyme, figure of speech and mandate. The research results in the first cycle obtained 43,63% of individual achievement, and the classical achievement was 0%. In the second cycle, there were an increase in the average value of individual students of writing poetry reached 75,45% and 90,90% classical achievements. It could be concluded that learning by using the methods of literary workshop, the students' ability of the grade VIII at SMP Negeri 14 Palu in writing poetry could be improved. Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of expressive speech act covering (1) form, (2) function, and (3) strategy in instructional in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. Data source were obtained from teacher and students utterances during the learning process. The approach used the research was pragmatic approach. Method used was descriptive qualitative. Data collections were done in three techniques, namely: (1) recording, (2) observation, and (3) noting. The subjects of the research were teachers and students at SMP Negeri 19 Palu. Technique of analysis was interactive model. The analysis covered four stages, they were: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data display, (4) verification/conclusion. The research findings reveal that instructional conducted in SMP Negeri 19 Palu consist of (1) gratitude form, (2) apologize form, (3) thanking form, (4) compliment form, (5) mocking form, (6) blame form, (7) complain form, (8) refuse form, (9) enjoyment form. The function of expressive speech act found in the findings comprised (1) gratitude function, (2) apologize function, (3) thanking function, (4) greeting function. Strategy used in the expressive speech act consists of (1) direct strategy of gratitude, (2) direct strategy of apologize, (3) direct strategy of thanking, (4) direct strategy of compliment, (5) direct strategy of mocking, (6) direct strategy of blame, (7) direct strategy of complain, (8) direct strategy of refuse, (9) direct strategy of enjoyment. Meanwhile the indirect strategy consists of (1) indirect strategy of apologize, (2) indirect strategy of mocking, (3) indirect strategy of complain with variation functions referred to behind the speech act depend on its context.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan representasi bentuk kekuasaan dalam wacana kelas di SMP Labschool Untad Palu tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian ini tergolong analisis wacana kritis (AWK). Model AWK yang diimplementasikan adalah model Norman Fairclough. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan melalui; (1) observasi, (2) teknik rekam, dan (3) catatan lapangan. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen utama. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan melalui model Miles dan Huberman, yakni: (1) pengumpulan data, (2) reduksi data, (3) penyajian data, dan (4) penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat representasi bentuk kekuasaan dalam wacana kelas di SMP Labschool Untad Palu tahun ajaran 2015/2016 melalui tindak tutur. Tuturan tersebut akan merepresentasikan bentuk, yakni: (1) perintah, (2) permintaan, (3) larangan, (4) persilaan, (5) saran, (6) menilai, (7) memberitahukan. Dari tindak tutur tersebut terepresentasi bentuk kekuasaan yang menggunakan beberapa jenis kekuasaan, seperti: kekuasaan paksaan, kekuasaan absah, kekuasaan imbalan, dan kekuasaan keahlian

Abstract

Penelitian in bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh penggunaan teknik Berfikir-Berpasangan-Berbagi terhadap keterampilan berbicara dan motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris kelas XI siswa SMA Negeri 5 Palu. Metodenya adalah penelitian quasy experimental dengan rancangan non-equivalent kontrol grup desain. Sample penelitian dipilih secara purposive, di mana peneliti secara sengaja memilih kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan tes untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa berbicara dan kuisioner untuk mengukur motivasi siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode deskriptif dan statistik uji-t. Data yang diperoleh melalui tes dianalisis dan diuji statistik melalui SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 15.0. Berdasarkan analisis data dari kemampuan siswa berbicara dan motivasi siswa. Ditemukan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari keterampilan berbicara kelas eksperimen (73.50) lebih besar dari kelas kontrol (68). Hasil perbandingan melalui uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung = 3.355 > nilai ttable = 2.002. Selanjutnya, untuk motivasi siswa, nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 42 dan kelas kontrol adalah 39.37. Hasil perbandingan motivasi siswa melalui uji-t menunjukkan nilai thitung = 2.362 > nilai ttable = 2.002. Sehingga, Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan kata lain, penggunaan teknik berfikir-berpasangan-berbagi dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan siswa berbicara dan motivasi siswa. Kata kunci: Pengaruh, Teknik Berpikir-Berpasangan-Berbagi, Berbicara, Keterampilan, Keterampilan Berbicara dan Motivasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah para siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) menunjukan pencapaian yang lebih baik dalam membaca narative text. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimen dengan pre test post-tes one group design. Sejumlah 21 orang siswa kelas 3 IPA 1 menjadi sample dan dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah observasi ceklist dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai rata-rata, nilai rata-rata tes awal adalah 36.35, dan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh dari tes akhir adalah 86.03. Data yang didapatkan dari tes awal dan tes akhir dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan perhitungan formula t-test. Hasil t-table untuk dk 21-1=20 pada taraf signifikansi 0.05 adalah 1.725 dan hasil t-hitung 13.03 menunjukan t-hitung lebih besar dari t-table. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa CSR terbukti effektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa.

Abstract

Language is the tool of communication for the human in their daily activity. As a tools of communication, the existing of language wish can help the human to fluency all of their activities. All of the activities which done by the human will not from whom which conveys the information is mentioned Speaker and speaker group or can be mentioned speak opponent. The speech which have relation with a context most influenced by the situation of speech. Its in the good condition in the people or in the school. In the interact of the school, head master who a person most have done meetings with the teacher. It enables will show that kinds of form directive speech action when the head master interacts with the teacher. The objective of the research is to describe the using of directive speech action which include (1) form, (2) Function, (3), speech strategy of head master in SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar. The method which used in this research descriptive qualitative. The data accumulation is done with two techniques those are recording and observation. The subject of this research is a head master. The data  Analisys technique in this research is interactive model. The analisys in this include four steps, there are (1), accumulation data, (2), reduction data, (3), serving data, (4), verification/ take a conclude. The result of this research show that directive speech action form of head master to the teacher in SMA Negeri 1 Kasimbar consist of (1), imperative form, request form, (3), prohibition form, (4), giving a suggestion form, (5) statement form and (6) questioning form. The function of directive speech action is found of the research result which consist of (1) imperative function, (2) requesting function, (3) prohibition function, (4) giving a suggestion function. The strategy which used in directive speech action consist of direct strategy and indirect strategy. At the direct strategy, consist of (1) direct strategy in a imperative, (2) direct strategy in a request, (3) direct strategy in a prohibition, and (4) drect strategy in giving a suggestion. While indirect strategy that is (1) indirect strategy in a statement and indirect strategy in a question.

Abstract

Presuppositions are studied to determine the intents of a discourse or speech. Presuppositions are assumptions or implicit interferences in certain linguistic expressions. Every conversation always uses levels of communication and implicit or explicit presuppositions or illocutionary. By making the right presuppositions, communicative values expressed in a speech can be quickly understood. The more precise the presuppositions are hypothesized, the higher the value of communication or speech. Conversely, errors in presuppositions affect the speech that may cause uncommunicative coherence. The characteristic of presupposition is something that is assumed by the speakers as the events before generating a speech. The basic characteristic of presupposition is the nature of constancy under negation. It has the intention that the presumption of a statement will remain steady (still true) although the sentence is used as a negative statement or negation. Types of presupposition are: (1) potential presuppositions, (2) factual presuppositions, (3) non-factual presuppositions, (4) lexical presuppositions, (5) structural presuppositions, (6) counterfactual presuppositions.
