Abstract

The limitations of spatial and temporal distribution of rain gauge networks causes inaccuracies in prediction of hydrological modeling. The availability of satellite rain data products is a potential to overcome this limitation. This studies objective is to compare the quality of rain data from the recording of the Manual Rainfall Recorder (MRR) with satellite data TRMM 3B42 which is entered in the HBV hydrological modeling. Calibration results shows that HBV modeling performance with MRR rain data input is better than TRMM. R2 and NSE values from MRR rain data input were 0.7153 and 0.7133 respectively with a mean error of 89 (mm / year). While the R2 and NSE values of the TRMM 3B42 satellite rain data input were 0.57 and 0.55 with a mean error of 305 (mm / year), respectively.

Abstract

Population growth is one of the causes of land-use change that can increase runoff. Tanggul watershed is one of the watersheds which often overflows during the rainy season. This study purpose to analyze the effect of land-use changes on runoff in Tanggul watershed using SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model. To make sure the performance of SWAT model calibration and classified by the value of NSE and R2. The result of calibration included in a good category and validation included in a very good category. This study was modeling forest land-use change in 2004-2017 to determine the effect of land-use change on runoff. The result in this model of forest land-use change can increase runoff.

Abstract

In this study, the Palm Oil Fuel Ash (POFA) was used as a raw material for making geopolymer mortars that uses a combination of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and sodium silicate (Na2SiO3). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various parameters on the compressive strength of mortars. The parameters involved were namely modulus of activator ratio (Ms 1-3), the molarity of NaOH (10-16M), curing temperature (28-110ºC), type of POFA particle processing (oven-dried, passed the #200 sieve, burned in a brick kiln, burned at 800ºC), rest periods of 3 and 5 days. Based on the parametric study, it was found the optimum mixture with the highest compressive strength consisted of NaOH 14M, Ms ratio of 2.5, curing temperature of 100OC, a rest period of 5 days, particles sieved using #200 sieve and had 15% PCC content.

Abstract

One of the effort to improve road safety was to reduce the risk of an accident on the intersection in a lowering manner   traffic that occurs. Based on it writer research efforts to improve safety on the Terusan Sulfat intersection in the city poor conflict with how to handle traffic. Research aims to bring down intersections that handling percent fewer traffic intersection. Methods used in the analysis of the performance of simpang used calculation MKJI and trace things back by software PTV VISSIM 10 Full version and methods to know conflict is by using software SSAM. The next step is to provide alternatives from trouble handling the conflict with changes in a traffic intersection to intersection 2 phase with the turn right first  and the 3 phase after setting that up in select most reducing traffic. Conflict The widening of the road in an effort to balance the smooth and  road safety.Handling alternative intersections that chosen provide arrangement simpang with 3 phase with widening of roads because it reduces the occurrence of 30 percent fewer traffic by 26 % and exceptionally large value of 2 % which means maintain a harmony between the creation of road safety and smooth running of the traffic.

Abstract

Cold form steel is one type of material that is currently experiencing very rapid development. The advantages of the using cold form steel are so many, one of which is the light weight and high quality steel. This is an added value for cold form steel. But one of the weakness in cold form steel profile is the buckling effect. So that additional fillers are needed so that cold form steel has resistance with buckling effect. Mortar is a filler that is often used in construction. Therefore this research will be discuss the analysis of grouting mortar to prevent buckling effect in the cold form steel profile. And then the grouting mortar that will be used uses a variation of cement to sand as big as 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 and 1:4. From the results of the compressive strength of the mortar obtained compressive strength of 1: 1 has the greatest compressive strength of 30 Mpa. And then for the flexural test, the steel beam with mortar variation 1: 1 has the greatest resistance of 9558 Newton, with the smallest deflection value of 8 mm and the greatest stress of 19.47 Mpa, when compared to steel beams with variations of 1: 2, 1: 3, 1: 4 and steel beams without fillers.

Abstract

Pagah district is one of the urban areas which has several intersections that support community activities. Therefore, the existing public facilities in this area must support community activities. One of them is to ensure the performance of the intersections in the Pagah area is still in good condition. From secondary data obtained from Jember Regency in 2019 Figures, it shows that the vehicle growth rate in Jember Regency has increased over the last 5 years. The results of the analysis with reference to the Indonesian Road Performance Manual show that the existing performance conditions of intersections in the Pagah district indicate that the delay value at the intersections does not meet the requirements. The methods taken in this study to overcome the existing problems are optimizing the intersection cycle time at the Pagah district.

Abstract

Static analysis is a simplification of dynamic analysis. Earthquake vibrations cause lateral forces at the base of the structure, and will be distributed on each floor of the building as lateral level forces. This analysis is suitable for regular building shapes. In accordance with SNI 1726: 2012, the value of the base shear force V is 103,039 kg for the X and Y directions. The displacement value is 54 mm and drift ratio ∆ < ∆a (allowable)

Abstract

Palm oil boiler ash is the waste from the palm oil boiler combustion which contains a lot of silicates. In addition, palm oil boiler ash also contains inorganic cations such as potassium and sodium. Palm oil boiler ash is pozzolanic material, which is a non-binding material such as cement, but contains active Silica Oxide (SiO2) compounds which when reacted with free lime or calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH2)) and water will form materials such as cement, namely calcium Silica Hydrate. In this study, we will use palm oil boiler ash waste which has been stated to have good soil improvement results as a mixture of peat soil improvement in the hope of getting better improvement results from previous studies in terms of California Bearing Ratio values. The boiler ash to be used is a variation of the mixture of 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% to the weight of the soil sample and using 28 days treatment. The California Bearing Ratio value of the original peat soil is 0.247%, the percentage of 5% increases to 0.433%, at the percentage of 10% is 0.629% and at the percentage of 15% is 0,729%.

Abstract

This research aims to make a bearing capacity distribution map of shallow foundations (footplate), which is to provide convenience in terms of examining substructure buildings planned by the consultant by the owner. Spatial concepts method, ArcGIS and kriging, are used to simplify the analysis stage in making bearing capacity maps. Bearing capacity distribution map of soil shows that most of the University of Jember area at two meters depth has hard soil consistency and has a bearing capacity of around 83.9 - 110.9 kg/cm2. The results of comparative analysis of ArcGIS and CPT has a ratio of 0,758 for point 1 and 0,765 for point 2.

Abstract

Normal aggregate replacement to the onyx waste aggregate will certainly make the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity different, so it will affect the value of the compressive stress block equivalent (β1) as a result of the extent of the changing stress strain curve. In this study, trying to compare between the experimental β1 value of onyx concrete, while analytically the β1 value for normal concrete was obtained in accordance with SNI 2847 - 2019. To get the experimental β1 value from onyx concrete, it is made by looking for the compressive strength, elastic modulus and ꜫ0, for later the stress strain curve of the concrete is made to find the experimental β1 value of the onyx concrete. The results were obtained if the average β1 value of 18 specimens of onyx coarse aggregate concrete with an average compressive strength of 32.92 MPa was 0.868 while the analytical β1 value based on SNI 2847-2019 was 0.839, This shows that the β1 value for concrete with other aggregates is different, so it needs to be checked experimentally.
