Abstract

Short story writing skills are considered complex skills and difficult to master. The obstacles when learning to write short stories are in students who tend to be lazy to read, while external factors lie in the availability of teaching materials, media, and strategies used by the teacher. The research objective was to determine the model of teaching materials in short story writing material. This type of research uses qualitative research with literature review methods. The library selection technique is based on the keywords of the teaching material model in short story writing material. The literature comes from accredited national journals on Google Scholar with a publication limit of the last 10 years. The literature study technique uses a synthetic matrix based on reference sources, sample types, methods, interventions, and findings. The conclusion is that the teaching material model in writing short story materials can be done using the storyboard learning method, experience, paraphrasing, short stories gram, audiovisual media, documentary films, and adobe flash.

Abstract

Self-control is one of the competencies which Elementary school students should have. This self-control competency is designed to review the concept of themselves as controllers for their own thoughts, feelings, and behavior, so the students can manage themselves to avoid delinquency, which is common in children at this elementary level. This research is qualitative research using descriptive methods, field research techniques, and library research. While the data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and questionnaires.  The results showed that the curriculum used at SDIT Nurul Fikri Aceh includes two models, namely the formal curriculum (Diknas and the typical SIT curriculum) and the hidden curriculum in the form of inculcating values. The implementation of PAI Learning in improving students' self-control skills at SDIT Nurul Fikri Aceh includes 1) PAI learning in class is face-to-face activities by developing learning methods and strategies with preliminary activities, core activities, and core closing activities. 2) PAI learning outside the classroom is fostering student self-control through religious activities.

Abstract

The TPR (Total Physical Response) learning method is the method that is most suitable for children. This study aims to determine the total physical response learning method for students. This research uses qualitative research with the literature review method. The literature selection technique is based on the keywords of the total physical response learning method for students. The literature comes from accredited national journals on google scholar with a publication limit of the last 10 years. The literature study technique uses a synthetic matrix based on reference sources, sample types, methods, interventions, and findings. The results in this study were obtained from as many as 12 journals. The conclusion in this study is that the total physical response method is recommended to be applied to elementary age students so that they are able to develop the ability to hear, speak, listen, and master new vocabulary through several movements that have been commanded by the teacher, so that they indirectly learn audio, visual, and tactile.

Abstract

Learning to write stories is one of the competencies taught to elementary school students. Therefore we need an appropriate learning module in the learning process. This research uses a literature study method which is taken from relevant previous research. Literature retrieval techniques based on keywords, year of publication, and research problems. Keywords that are the focus of the search on google scholar are the learning module to write stories for elementary school students with the publication year between 2015 - 2021. The literature study aims to find and analyze the learning module to write short stories in elementary school students so that the learning model found can be known, selected, and applied to elementary school students in accordance with the characteristics and needs of students. The results of this study obtained as many as 7 literature. The conclusion obtained in this study is that there are several modules used in short story writing. Among them include an enrichment module for writing children's stories with character values based on CLIL, a learning module for reading comprehension of adventure story texts, a module for writing creative stories, a module that is oriented towards a scientific approach to learning narrative writing.

Abstract

Character education in elementary school children needs strengthening. This study aims to conduct a literature review on strengthening character education in elementary school children. This research uses qualitative research with the literature review method. Selection of literature using techniques based on keywords strengthening character education in elementary school students. In this study, the literature comes from Google Scholar with a publication limit of the last 10 years. The literature review study technique in this study used a synthetic matrix based on reference sources, methods, interventions, and findings. The results showed that 10 national journals conducted literature reviews. Character education in elementary school children needs strengthening. Strengthening can be done in learning materials; school rules, science competitions between students, awards for outstanding students, commemoration of national day, worship practices and spiritual guidance, activities; there is a talent and music class.

Abstract

Changes in the teaching and learning process, which initially took place face-to-face learning are now carried out by online learning, experienced several obstacles or disturbances ranging from inadequate internet quotas, unstable networks to lack of students' understanding of the material presented by the teacher. Online learning is one of the ways recommended by the government to maximize the quality of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study show that the disruption in online learning, among others, is that first, students do not focus on learning due to boredom and boredom in students so that the teacher must implement strategies that make the learning atmosphere happier. Second, there are inadequate online learning facilities because not all students have online learning support devices, and there are also areas that are not covered by the internet. Third, there is no readiness of teachers and parents of students for online learning, where there are still teachers who do not have the competence to teach online and also parents have their own activities, so they cannot accompany students when online learning takes place.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) The Principal's Strategy in Empowering Madrasah Committees to Improve the Quality of Madrasahs at MAN 2 Medan Model, 2) To determine the role and cooperation of the Madrasah Principal with the Committee in Improving Education Quality at MAN 2 Medan Model, 3) To find out Supporting and inhibiting factors in Improving the Quality of Education in MAN 2 Model Medan. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach because in this study more emphasis on meaning, description, circumstances, and processes rather than the results of an activity. So that the data obtained by the author can be described rationally and objectively following the reality in the field. This research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Model Medan. As for obtaining data in this study with data collection techniques as follows: 1) Observation, 2) Interview, and 3) Document Study. The results of the study indicate that the Madrasah principal's strategy is an important factor in determining the success of quality improvement in Madrasahs. The quality of education as a pillar of human resource development is very important for the progress of the nation. Even the future of the nation is often said to lie in quality education, meanwhile, quality education is only found in quality educational institutions. Therefore, efforts to improve the quality of education and the quality of learning are strategies for the creation of quality education. Based on the research results, good collaboration between the madrasah and the madrasa committee has yielded good results, there has been an increase in the quality of students and continues to fulfill learning facilities, all of which cannot be separated from the role of the madrasa committee, as the supervisor of the madrasa committee has a major role in improving the quality of madrasas. The existence of the madrasa committee is one of the success factors for madrasas in improving the quality of madrasas and as supervisors for madrasa programs that have been approved by the madrasa committee. We also need to know that every program running in the context of madrasa development does not run smoothly, of course, there are criticisms and rejections from various circles and parents of students. This is one of our efforts at this madrasa to provide an understanding of the programs that will be implemented transparently, we do this pattern so that there are no misunderstandings so we involve the madrasa committee in developing madrasas, one of which is also a supervisor.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of critical thinking in elementary school students: a literature review. This study uses a literature study method taken from relevant previous research. Sources of literature studies come from previous research journals with the same research focus (critical thinking skills). The literature study aims to find and analyze some of the efforts that have been made to improve critical thinking skills more quickly and effectively - efficient in learning for elementary school students so that some of these efforts can be applied according to the same conditions in learning. The results in this study obtained as many as 17 journals that were reviewed based on reference sources, sample types, research methods, interventions provided to the results of reviews from journals. The conclusion is that critical thinking skills begin to be trained and developed starting from grade IV/V elementary school. The development of critical thinking skills can be done through the intervention of learning models such as problem-based learning, project-based learning, problem posing, discovery learning, guided inquiry, group investigation; learning approaches such as open-ended, think talk write, realistic, and or the application of games in learning. Critical thinking ability is directly related to student learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

Intrapersonal intelligence is a part of emotional intelligence because emotional intelligence has two abilities: intrapersonal skills and interpersonal skills. Therefore, emotional intelligence, it has five elements that are composite rather than intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence. Five elements are self-awareness, self-settings, motivation, empathy, and social. The first three elements are part of intrapersonal intelligence, self-awareness, self-settings, and motivation, while the latter two are part of interpersonal intelligence, empathy, and social. Intelligence here is shrewdness and skill.

Abstract

Purpose of this paper is to see the effectiveness of the principal's leadership in improving teacher achievement at SMK Putra Anda Binjai. This research took place at SMK Putra Anda Binjai which is located on JL. WR Mongonsidi No. 22, Satria Village, Binjai City Regency. The research was conducted on June 9, 2021. The subject of this research is the school owner who acts as a leader at SMK Putra Anda Binjai. The data collection technique is by interview. The results of this study are: (1). The leadership behavior at SMK Putra Anda Binjai in teacher performance management is to always provide direction to teacher activities and student activities at school, provide motivation to teachers in carrying out learning at school, always communicate well with all teachers at school, be disciplined and firm in every decision making at school, and Create a family relationship in the school both to teachers, students and other staff. (2). The influence on teacher performance in schools can be seen from four aspects, namely discipline aspects, religious aspects, cooperation aspects, leadership aspects. (3). The forms of principal performance management strategies in improving teacher performance are 1) strategies for providing allowances/salaries/rewards, 2) paying attention to teachers, 3) providing teacher training in honing teacher skills, 4) empowering teachers in decision making.
