Abstract

Social inequality in multicultural and hierarchical workplaces challenges companies in implementing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. This study uses a critical ethnographic approach as a transformative organizational communication strategy to uncover and address hidden social issues. Unlike top-down symbolic methods, critical ethnography amplifies marginalized voices such as women, people with disabilities, and ethnic minorities. Through qualitative descriptive analysis of literature and Unilever Indonesia’s case, the study finds that integrating ethnographic insights into DEI and CSR communication exposes structural bias, fosters inclusive narratives, and supports socially just policies. Companies applying this approach become more responsive to social crises and build stronger, sustainable community relations. Furthermore, two-way communication based on real experiences strengthens ESG value internalization, positioning critical ethnography not just as observation but as a strategic bridge between corporations and complex social realities.

Abstract

The study reveals that the Bima City General Election Commission (KPU) implemented a comprehensive set of strategies to reduce voter abstention and enhance participation in the 2024 regional election. These efforts included direct face-to-face outreach, segmented voter education, the strategic use of social and electronic media, and the installation of electoral information materials across urban and peripheral areas. Collaboration with religious leaders, community figures, and Democracy Volunteers significantly expanded the reach and credibility of political education, particularly among first-time voters, women, and marginalized groups. The findings show that although the number of registered voters increased compared to 2018, voter turnout experienced a slight decline from 84.13% to 84.04%, influenced by low political literacy, political apathy, economic constraints, and the mobility of young voters. Overall, the study concludes that KPU’s integrated outreach model effectively sustained high participation levels while highlighting persistent challenges requiring targeted policy interventions.

Abstract

This study uncovers the latent structure of systemic corruption in public procurement across Bima City, Bima Regency, and Dompu Regency, revealing a pathological convergence of state capture, neopatrimonialism, and crony capitalism. Using a critical qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, it integrates Foucault’s governmentality, institutional corruption theory, and Baudrillard’s simulacra to explain how procurement mechanisms shift from administrative instruments into tools of predatory power consolidation. Data were obtained through elite interviews, legal and audit document analysis, and participatory observation, and analyzed using critical discourse analysis within abductive reasoning. The findings show procurement systems hijacked through orchestrated collusion, fabricated documentation, and bureaucratic manipulation under pseudo-legality. The research concludes that procurement corruption has become an institutionalized governing regime that erodes democratic legitimacy, degrades bureaucratic ethics, and endangers the sustainability of local public governance.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of collaborative governance implemented by UPT DP3AP2KB in partnership with health services and village governments to accelerate stunting reduction in Sape District, Bima Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative case study, data were obtained through interviews, observation, and document analysis with village officials, UPT staff, health workers, and posyandu cadres. The findings indicate that cross-sector collaboration operates through institutional arrangements such as the Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team and village forums, supported by facilitative leadership in aligning stakeholder interests. Collaborative processes rely on communication, trust, shared commitment, and common goals. The collaboration has improved targeted interventions, particularly maternal and child nutrition programs, although challenges persist, including limited nutritional literacy, inadequate technical personnel, and weak intersectoral data integration. The study recommends strengthening village capacity, improving data coordination mechanisms, and expanding collaborative networks to ensure sustainable and effective governance.

Abstract

The increasing divorce rate in Indonesia over the past decade indicates growing vulnerabilities in family resilience shaped by changes in social, economic, and cultural structures. This article aims to analyze the relevance of the Muhammadiyah concept of Keluarga Sakinah in responding to contemporary divorce trends through a socio-religious approach based on community data. This study employs a non-field research design relying on secondary data analysis, including official Muhammadiyah documents, reports on Muhammadiyah community programs, and divorce statistics issued by the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Supreme Court of Indonesia. Therefore, this study concludes that the relevance of the Muhammadiyah concept of Keluarga Sakinah is contextual in nature and requires synergy among religious organizations, the state, and civil society to strengthen family resilience in Indonesia
