Abstract

ABSTRACTThe curriculum is the core of the education process in schools. The implementation ofthe curriculum directly influences the educational outcomes. The curriculum reallydetermines the process and results of an education system. The curriculum is adescription of the material presented in learning, is also a very important component inan education system, the curriculum is a tool to achieve educational goals and at thesame time as a guide in the implementation of teaching at all types and levels ofeducation. Curriculum development is a process that plans, produces a better tool basedon the results of an assessment of the curriculum that has been in effect, so that it canprovide good teaching and learning conditions. In other words curriculum developmentis an activity to produce a new curriculum through the steps of curriculum preparationbased on the results of the assessment conducted over a certain period of time.Curriculum principles can also be regarded as rules that animate curriculumdevelopment. This principle has the aim that the curriculum is designed or produced inaccordance with the demands of all parties, namely students, parents, community andnation. In general, curriculum experts view curriculum development activities as acontinuous process, a cycle that involves several curricula, namely components,objectives, materials, activities and evaluations. This paper uses the method oftheoretical study of the principles of curriculum development. The theories put forwardin this paper are understanding the curriculum and its developers, plus theories aboutthe sources and principles of curriculum development, learning and evaluation ofcurriculum development.Keywords: curriculum concept, curriculum development, curriculum principles

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the active participation, independent learning, and mathematical communication skills of students in the field of analytic geometry courses through the implementation of lesson study. The study consisted of four cycles, each cycle shall be composed of three stages: plan, do, see. The subjects were students of first semester 2014 in class A of mathematics education, The University of Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The data of this research were through observation sheets, video recordings, portfolios, and questionnaires. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the students' learning motivation can be increased with learning-based lesson study. Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the general condition of Purwanegara District Banjarnegara Regency, the development of Muhammadiyah organization branch Merden up to 2013, and the bussiness charity of Muhammadiyah organization branch Merden in education and non education fields. This study used historical method. The result showed that Muhammadiyah Branch Merden intially established as a group Muhammadiyah which was under Purbalingga Branch, only a year later it became Banjarnegara Branch. Then, in the fourth period of Abu Dudjanah leadership, group of Muhammadiyah Branch Merden changed into Muhammadiyah sub-section, and in the next period turned into a branch of Muhammadiyah up to now with various business charities both in education and non-education fields. Abstract

This research aims to describe the learning motivation and students’ skills in writing news and to determine whether there is an effect of learning motivation on the students’ skills in writing news of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Program at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI). This research employed quantitative descriptive research which is consisting of two variables, namely learning motivation (independent variable) and news writing skill (dependent variable). The research sample was taken, 30 students. The research data was obtained by the distribution of questionnaires technique about the learning motivation and news writing test. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and simple regression tests on the SPSS program. The result shows that students' learning motivation is in a good category. The influence of learning motivation on students’ skills in writing news shows an adequate interpretation. It is proved by the significant value of 0,000<0,05, which means the learning motivation has a significant effect on the news writing skill of Indonesian Language and Literature Education students of UMI.Keywords: learning motivation, writing news

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aims to see a significant correlation between the ability to listen to poetryand the ability to write poetry for students of the Indonesian Language and LiteratureStudy Program at the Faculty of Literature at the Muslim University of Indonesia(UMI).Research is an expose facto that is correlational, which consists of variable X thatis the ability to listen to poetry as an independent variable and the Y variable the abilityto write poetry as the dependent variable. In this study the population and sample werePro students gram Stuin Indonesian Language and Literature, Faculty of Letters UMI insemester 3, as well as technique used to collect this research data is observation and test.Furthermore din this study, the data collected was analyzed using descriptive statisticsof product moment correlation. The results of this study show that calculations using theproduct moment formula reach 0.08 because to find out whether or not there issignificant correlation between listening ability and writing student poetry. So, it appearsthat the acquisition value of 0.08 (r xy arithmetic) <0.388 of (t value of the productmoment table) at a significant level of 95% with the number of students 27 people. So, itneeds to be emphasized that the high ability to listen to student poetry, less influence onhis ability to write poetry.Keywords: Correlation, Listening to Poetry, Writing Poetry

Abstract

Approach or conventional writing instructional strategies used by teachers in teaching in primary schools is not a product-oriented writing process so that it is necessary to develop the skills of how to write a children's elementary school. One way in developing writing skills, using the approach Writers Workshop. Teaching procedures using Writers Workshop approach is implemented through: (1) teaching mini, 5-15 minutes, (2) write freely, for 30-45 minutes, and discussion (sharing) for 10-15 minutes with classmates. Abstract

The aims of the research were to find out (a) the level of the students’ ability in making comprehension questions, (b) the students’ map of problems in making comprehension questions. The population of the research was all students joining Reading 4 academic year 2016, totaling to 30 students, while the sample was taken from all students. The result of data analysis showed that the average ability of the students, with score more than 70 reached 66.66%. In details, only 4 of the samples (13.33%)) got no wrong answers or an A. Those who got good achievement (B), considered as majority, amounted to 16 students (53.33%). The participants achieving enough grades (C) reached 7 students or 23.33%. The last level achieved in this research was D with the number reaching 3 (10%). The map of problems laid on their inability in identifying between yes/no and WH questions, inverted sentence, choosing the right auxiliary and verbs and their spelling ability. Abstract

HIV-AIDS in East Java is in a stage of concern with the development oftransmission. From 1989 to September 2016, PLHIV in East Java were 54,275people. Of these, those with HIV reached 36,881. While those convicted of AIDSwere 17,394 people and in 2017 reached 118,426 inhabitants. In Banyuwangi,the Banyuwangi Regency AIDS Commission, currently there are 3,260 HIVsufferers in Banyuwangi, 999 cases of AIDS sufferers, and 315 of them dead.Community service on HIV-AIDS prevention and prevention training was carriedout at the Teacher Training and Education Faculty of the PGRI BanyuwangiUniversity in October 2017. In this activity the service team trained students inovercoming and preventing HIV / AIDS. The service activity received a very goodresponse from students at PGRI Banyuwangi University.Keywords: Prevention, HIV, AIDS

Abstract

This research was aimed at finding out the ability to solve mathematics problem through conceptual map learning. The other objective is to know both the constraint and support of this type of learning. The stages include instrumnet development, giving treatment, and administering the test. The analysis of this reasearch was done to give interpretation the ability to solve mathematics problem for both mathematics and wholistic problem solving. The significance test used was that of parametric statistics, namely t-test used to process the result of problem solving test. The finding was that the student’s ability of solving mathematics problem through the useof conceptual map learning improved significantly than that of conventional learning for both aspect of mathematics and wholistic problem solving.
