Abstract

Emissions of motor vehicles containing heavy metals, one of which is lead (Pb). Street vendors belong to the community group at a high risk of exposure to motorized vehicle emissions. This study aims to analyze and assess lead levels in the blood of street vendors. The research design used was cross-sectional with a method of collecting data through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Lead measurement using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) method. The sample was determined by a purposive sampling method of 30 street vendors. The results of this study are 18 respondents (60%) with blood lead levels exceeding normal levels namely <10 μg/dL. The average blood lead level of street vendors was 22,03 μg/dL. The highest blood lead levels were 65 μg/dl with the highest daily working time of 16 hours/day. Characteristics of respondents who have an influence on blood lead (Pb) levels are age and daily work time.

Abstract

Kajian dampak lingkungan dispersi dioksin dari Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Sampah Perkotaan meliputi karakteristik dispersi dan resiko kesehatan masyarakatvterdampak di Bekasi, Indonesia.Dispersi diteliti melalui pemodelan dengan langkah 1)estimasi emisi dioksin dari proses insinerator 2) deasin model dispersi dioksin berdasarkan literatur 3) menghitung resiko kesehatan masyarakat wilayah terdampak. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dispersi dioksin dimodelkan solusi persamaan adveksi-difusi non Gaussian dengan memperhitungkan kecepatan jatuh dan diposisi. Untuk MWPP dengan kapasitas 80 ton per hari menghasilkan konsentrasi dioksin 0.04 pg TEQ/Nm3 di wilayah masyarakat sekitar 200m dari cerobong. Paparan inhalasi yang diterima adalah 5.28 pg 1-TEQ/(kg-hari) pada orang dewasa dan 6.95 pg 1-TEQ/(kg-hari) pada anak-anak. Strategi yang dapat dilakukan supaya sesuai standar WHO sebesar 4pg 1-TEQ/(kg-hari) dilakukan dengan menaikkan kemampuan APC untuk mereduksi emisi 25%. Tetapi perhitungan emisi dengan proses pembakaran menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi yang dihasilkan oleh MWPP masih memenuhi batas ambang yang disyaratkan WHO .

Abstract

Illegal gold mining activities still frequently occur in the Kuantan River, which is one of the main rivers in the district of Kuantan Singingi, Riau. This activity causes environmental contamination of mercury (Hg). The objective of this research was to determine the contamination of Hg in river water, well water, sediment and fish (baung and kapiek) in the Kuantan River, Riau. Samples were taken at up, middle and downstreams of the Kuantan River. Mercury was analized by following APHA and Indonesian National Standard (SNI) methods. The results were compared with the quality standard of pollution. The results showed that average of Hg concentration in river water, well water, sediment and fish were 0,0325 mg/l, 0,0202 – 0,0231 mg/l, 0,2083 mg/kg, 0,1141 - 0,1224 mg/kg. Statistical analysis indicated that the concentration of Hg in river water, well water (middle and downstream) and sediment were above the quality standard, while in the samples of baung and kapiek were below the quality standard. Hg concentrations significantly increased from up to downstream locations in river water and sediment, Hg concentrations significantly increased in 2 community wells in middle and downstream locations, significant Hg concentration was found in kapiek caught in midstream locations, while there was no significantly at the Hg concentration of baung in the research location.

Abstract

Surface water is part of the rainfall flowing above the ground to rivers, lakes, or oceans. One of the surface water resources in West Java is the river water from Cihideung sub watershed. People living in the Cihideung river have traditionally benefited water value as environmental services of the river. They use the water for their livelihood, mainly for agriculture, fisheries, and livestock with their level of income up to Rp.512.250.999,00 per year and expenditure of up to Rp.172.079.999,00 per year. Most of them work as farmers with an average age of 47-53 years and the education level is only elementary school level. They put value of water services about Rp. 237.642.578.707,00 for all house hold in Cihideung Sub Watershed for economic value of water utilization. The quality of water tends to be degrading with existing condition is mild to moderate polluted. The water condition have been decreasing people income and need to be restored among other by upland forest conservation using Payment for Environmental Service schema. The value of water could be managed as a source of fund for the conservation program.

Abstract

The last two decades, peatland management has resulted in susceptibility of peatlands to fires due to peat degradation associated with drainages, climate, and culture in opening peatlands. Rewet peatlands is the ultmate goal of peat restoration. Nevertheless, the needs for production in peatlands require a milestone to bridge the measure to restore peatlands hydrologically. Peatland management without fires is a method, and the combination with methods to supply nutrient in wet/moist/anaerobic peatlands would be innovative technology. It is aimed to provide nutrients of organic materials without stimulating decomposition of peat materials. Along with restoration measure hydrologically, agriculture in cultivation zone of peatlands shall consider water-zone as a specific and small unit within a wide peat hydrological unit.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate an appropriate alternative development strategy for the Baturraden Botanical Gardens. This strategy can make it easier for the management unit to develop the Baturraden Botanical Gardens even better. Primary data obtained through interviews and questionnaires. Baturraden Botanical Gardens as a vehicle for the environment has conservation and tourism functions. The development of the conservation function of the Baturraden Botanical Gardens is marked by the increasing collection of plants from time to time. Information obtained is that starting in 2014 the management of the Botanical Gardens of Baturraden and Tahura KGPAA Mangkunagoro I was separated through Pergub No. 20/2014. Based on the results of interviews, it was found that the public's view was that to develop the tourism potential of botanical gardens, botanical gardens should diversify activities, especially educational tours. Educational tours that are attractively packaged are one of the factors that can make visitors satisfied and want to visit again.

Abstract

Provinsi Riau menurut BPS tahun 2017 merupakan provinsi dengan luas perusahaan sawit terbesar di Indonesia sehingga implementasi kebijakan CSR paling banyak dilakukan oleh perusahaan kelapa sawit di Provinsi Riau. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengukur kinerja implementasi kebijakan dan program CSR perusahaan perkebunan kelapa sawit. Penelititan ini dilakukan pada perusahaan BUMN (PTPN V) dengan mengambil empat contoh unit kebun berdasarkan purposive sampling yang dilihat dari perbedaan lokasi kehidupan masyarakat, 3 unit kebun berada di Kabupaten Kampar, dan satu unit kebun di Kabupaten Rokan Hilir. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode IPA yang memperbandingkan antara persepsi perusahaan dan masyarakat. Komponen penyusun kuisioner untuk menilai persepsi terdiri atas penjabaran pernyataan yang diambil dari Peratutran Pemerintah no 47 tahun 2012 terkait pelaksanaan CSR dan beberapa literatur buku yang menjelaskan pelaksanaan CSR secara baik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kinerja implementasi kebijakan CSR yang telah dilaksanakan PT Perkebunan Nusantara V tergolong sangat baik dari aspek isi kebijakan dan dukungan, namun perlu perbaikan pada aspek transparansi, program CSR dan hasil.Transparansi dan keterbukaan informasi yang lebih luas menjadi poin penting untuk keterjangkauan terhadap sasaran pemberian CSR yang lebih baik untuk kedepannya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact, challenges, and concept of ecotourism in managing theme parks based on sustainable wildlife animal conservation in Central Java. This research uses qualitative exploratory research. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews and direct observation as primary data, while documentation, questionnaires, and literature studies are secondary data. Data analysis is divided into several stages: data coding, finding patterns, labeling themes, and developing category systems. The results showed that, first, positive impacts were obtained from conservation and sustainable tourism. Second, management challenges include external (outside the company scope) and internal (within the company scope). The external challenge most often faced by managers is the behavior of tourists who do not comply with the appeal in the theme park area. Meanwhile, the most crucial internal challenge is insufficient funding sources for the management and development of infrastructure. Third, ecotourism offers an alternative concept for sustainable management of theme parks economically and in conservation but requires large funds for realization.

Abstract

Nutrien merupakan faktor penting dalam pertumbuhan mikroalga. Amonia merupakan salah satu sumber nutrien yang paling disukai oleh mikroalga karena langsung dapat dimanfaatkan di dalam tubuh mikrolaga. Meskipun amonia paling disukai, namun keberadaannya dalam jumlah besar dapat berdampak buruk pada mikroalga. Sifat racun pada amonia dapat menyebabkan kematian pada mikroalga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari komposisi penambahan nutrien yang paling sesuai pada proses kultivasi mikroalga. Variasi penambahan NPK cair (nutrien) yang dipilih pada penelitian ini yaitu 0 mL; 0,3 mL; 1 mL; dan 2 mL. Penelitian dilakukan dengan sistem batch teraerasi. Variasi yang dianggap paling sesuai untuk proses kultivasi mikroalga yaitu variasi penamabah NPK 0,3 mL.

Abstract

Mining activities with an open system trigger land degradation which results in a decrease in land quality. The decline in land quality is related to the level of fertility and soil chemical properties, so that in general ex-mining land contains low nutrients. These problems in several mining companies that implement environmental sustainability are resolved through reclamation activities. This reclamation activity needs to be assessed, to measure the success of the mine in overcoming land degradation problems. In this study we demonstrate an assessment of the success of mine reclamation in the largest nickel mining area in South Sulawesi, using remote sensing technology. Formulation of NIR and Red bands on Sentinel 2 imagery can produce Normalized Difference Vegetation Index index. From the vegetation index value, it is known that the observed reclamation area is close to the high vegetation index value (0.7 - 0.9). This value is actually close to the vegetation index value in the surrounding natural forest, but with a low percentage of area. The distribution of the results of the assessment of plant growth in the reclamation area was lowest vegetation by 3.14%; lower vegetation by 12.15%; low vegetation by 21.53%; moderate vegetation by 14.82%; high vegetation by 25.94% and higher vegetation by 22.42% of the total reclamation area.
