Abstract

Employee performance is an important factor for companies operating in the public service sector, especially in water treatment companies, where their services cover the interests of many people. This research was conducted to see the influence of job satisfaction, work life balance, work environment, employee commitment and employee competency on employee performance in water treatment companies in Bekasi Regency, where there are still few researchers who have conducted research in water treatment companies, so we hoped that this research can become an additional reference for researchers who will choose similiar companies as the object of their research. The research was carried out using a survey method and using questionnaires as its tool, questionnaires were distributed online and face to face to employees within the Water Treatment Companies in Bekasi Regency. The distribution of the questionnaire was carried out in December 2023 with a total of 151 respondents. To test the hypothesis, the data obtained from the questionnaire was then analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The research results show that the work environment, work life balance and employee competency have positive influence toward employee performance at Water Treatment Companies in Bekasi Regency.

Abstract

The role of a leader is very necessary, with the hope that employees can also be involved in dealing with company problems that are experiencing a decline in performance. This research aims to determine the influence of servant leadership on employee affective well being, both directly and indirectly through the mediation of personal growth and perceived organizational support. This research is a development of previous research conducted on service management. Respondents were taken using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 140 employees. The data analysis technique used is the Lisrel Structure Question Modeling (SEM) analysis technique. The research results show that servant leadership is directly related to employee affective well being. Apart from that, servant leadership can be related to employee affective well being, so it will be mediated using personal growth and perceived organizational support. It is hoped that the contribution in the research will provide insight into science in human resource management and can become a new reference for Medical Device companies.

Abstract

Solar panels consist of photovoltaic cells which are identical to diode semiconductor devices. Photovoltaics have a special point which is usually called MPP (Maximum Power Point). At that point, the photovoltaic is in an optimal state, both the voltage and current produced. The location of the MPP is unknown but can be found using calculations or a tracking algorithm called Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). In general, MPPT uses the observe and observe algorithm which has shortcomings in determining the maximum power point because it is often trapped at the local maximum point. In this research, the MPPT algorithm used is based on a neural network with a buck-boost type converter. This method is done without requiring detailed information about photovoltaics. This MPPT will be used as a trainer kit for a simulator for identifying solar cell characteristics in the PPNS power electronics laboratory. The MPPT that has been created has an efficiency of between 80-92% and can increase the average power by 8-11.36% for monocrystalline solar panels and 1-13.05% for polycrystalline solar panels depending on the load used.

Abstract

Beet (Beta vulgaris L) is a potential plant for producing sugar (sugar beet) and dye (beetroot). Therefore, there is a great opportunity to be cultivated in Indonesia because of the suitable climate. Beet plants can harvest twice a year and have a higher yield than in areas with subtropical climates. However, the presence of plant pests and disease organism attacks can be a limiting factor in beet production. This study aims to observe pests and diseases attack beet cultivated in greenhouses. The observation conducted for five months, from September 2022 to January 2023. The results showed that symptoms of pest and disease attacks beet are Spodoptera sp., Lyriomyza sp., tungau, Cercospora sp., Rhozoctonia sp., and Erysiphe sp.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that influence the understanding of students' intentions in higher education in using blended learning and determine the relationship between factors in the theoretical model. This research was conducted because there is still a lack of research in the world that discusses the application of blended learning in higher education in developing countries such as Indonesia. Blended learning in higher education during the Covid-19 pandemic is still needed today because educational institutions have limited space to accommodate students and to follow technological development trends and utilize them in the world of education. Questionnaires distributed via Google Form were used to collect data. The sample was 541 blended learning users from various universities in Indonesia. All variables from the theoretical model are measured using existing scales. Structural Equation Model (SEM) is used to analyze the theoretical model. SPSS and Amos are used as analysis support software. This research contributes to the theoretical understanding of Blended Learning adoption as well as practices and guidelines for higher education institutions to successfully implement Blended Learning in their institutions. Of the eight initial hypotheses, there are seven hypotheses that are very significant. The three factors with the largest magnitude are effort expectancy, performance expectancy and system functionality. Effort expectancy is the most influential factor in implementing blended learning in higher education institutions.

Abstract

WWTP Effluent at Regional Hospital (RSD) dr. Soebandi has not fullfilled quality standard of phosphate which is 3 mg/L. This study aims to determine the efficiency of removal phosphate levels and to determine the effect of variations in the thickness of the filtration media reducing phosphate levels in wastewater from hospital wastewater. Method in this research used a Slow Sand Filter Sandwich system with several variables. The thickness ratio of rice husk charcoal and river sand were (R1) 25:5 cm, (R2) 22,5:7,5 cm, (R3) 20:10 cm, (R4) 17,5:12,5 cm and (R5) 0:0 cm. Variations of time used were 120 and 180 minutes. The lowest and highest efficiency was found in reactor 1 (R1) with 120 minutes for contact time at 0% and reactor 4 (R4) with 180 minutes for contact time by 53%. P-value of rice husk charcoal, river sand and contact time is 0,05 that means it have a significant effect on phosphate concentration reduction. T-test result showed significant differences (p-value 0,05), reactors 1 4, reactors 1 5, reactors 2 4, and reactors 2 5.

Abstract

Seleksi galur jagung terhadap cekaman kekeringan merupakan langkah awal untuk merakit varietas jagung dengan karakter produksi tinggi dan tahan terhadap cekaman kekeringan.  Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter galur jagung pada fase perkecambahan dan menseleksi ketahanan galur jagung pada fase perkecambahan menggunakan PEG 6000. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang disusun secara faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah 20 galur jagung dan faktor kedua adalah kosentrasi PEG 6000 yaitu 0% (Potensial osmotik : 0 Mpa), 5 % (potensial osmotik -0,03 Mpa), 10 % (potensial osmotik : -0,19 Mpa), 15% (potensial osmotik : -0.41 Mpa), dan 20% (potensial osmotik : -0,67 Mpa). Karakter yang diamati adalah daya berkecambah, panjang akar dan tunas, berat basah kecambah, berat kering kecambah, dan Indeks Sensitivitas Kekeringan (ISK). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian larutan PEG 6000 sebesar 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% sebagian besar menurunkan nilai karakter daya kecambah, panjang akar dan tunas, berat basah kecambah, dan berat kering kecambah dibandingkan dengan kontrol (pemberian larutan PEG sebesar 0%).  Perlakuan pemberian larutan PEG 6000 pada kosentrasi 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% pada semua karakter terdapat perbedaan nyata pada 20 galur yang diuji kecuali untuk karakter berat kering kecambah pada perlakuan pemberian PEG 6000 sebesar 15%. Galur jagung yang toleran terhadap cekaman kekeringan adalah G1, G2, G3, G8, G9, G13, dan G20.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of oil yields obtained from processing HDPE plastic waste by comparing quantitatively and qualitatively the fuel oil produced. The processing of plastic waste into oil by pyrolysis process was carried out at a temperature variation of (400; 500; 600; 700; 800)°C for 120 minutes. In one experiment, 500 grams of plastic waste, 250 grams of dolomite catalyst, and 250 ml of H2SO4 solvent were required. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of SKL Engineering Department, Jambi University with the parameters tested including volume, mass, %-yield, density, and GC-MS analysis. The results showed that quantitatively the lowest volume, mass, and %-yield were at the 400oC temperature variation, and the highest at 500oC. At 500oC pyrolysis temperature variation, the resulting density was 0.744 grams/ml, and the results of GC-MS analysis produced carbon chains C5-C12 97.6081% (gasoline), C13 2.3919% (kerosene), and aromatic compounds contained in it amounted to 14.3786%.

Abstract

Catfish is a suitable choice for cultivation because it is an economical and nutritious fish for growing children. Catfish are also easy to cultivate and grow fast. This research was conducted for 35 days with the aim to determine the effect of moringa leaf powder with different doses of 4 treatments on the growth and survival rate of catfish seeds. The treatment given was treatment K as a control without adding moringa leaf powder, treatment A with 90% pellets and 10% moringa leaf powder, treatment B with 85% pellets and 15% moringa leaf powder and the last treatment was treatment C with 80% pellets and 20% moringa leaf powder. This research also measured water quality during the research, with parameters measured namely temperature, Dissolve Oxygen (DO), Power of Hydrogen (pH), and ammonia. The results obtained stated that treatment C with addition of 80% pellets and 20% moringa leaf powder was the best results in all aspects, both growth  survival rate, feed convertion rasio and water quality, and fulfilled SNI (2014) regarding catfish.

Abstract

Coffee has been a global commodity since its discovery, so it's not surprising that there are various coffee cultivation variations in different regions. Economically, coffee plays a significant role in coffee-producing countries, including Indonesia, where it is cultivated and produced. The company is one of the companies engaged in the manufacturing of powdered coffee production. In its efforts to meet market targets, the company faces challenges. Therefore, a supply chain analysis is conducted on the coffee production process to identify occurring risks. The resolution of issues in this research utilizes the integration of FMEA and HOR methods. The application of these integrated methods about supply chain risk mitigation analysis has also been widely developed. Based on the risk identification results in HOR stage I, there are 17 risk events caused by 25 risk causes. Out of 25 risk causes, 11 dominant risk causes are obtained based on ARP calculations. Then, in HOR stage II, 17 mitigation steps are designed to prevent or minimize the 11 dominant risks obtained from the HOR phase I calculations. After calculating the total effectiveness and degree of difficulty, the results of the mitigation effectiveness ranking based on the difficulty ratio (ETDk) with the highest value carried out routine preventive maintenance on milling equipment to prevent damage and process instability (PA 7) of 16143.21, and the last rank prepared a backup of coffee machines or critical components to reduce production downtime (PA 16) of 1406.16.
