Abstract

This article highlights the development of contemporary velues of Jambis society. Employing the framework of thinking based on toth traditionalism and modernism concepts, the writer uncovers the long-rooted but alive traditions especially fot the homogeneous natives and non-natives. In the contrary, modern values are also developed especially for the educated urban people and the migrants who typically are heeogeneous.

Abstract

This article describes community-plurality pattern of Islam "Wetu Telu" of Bayan Wllagers, Lombok Barat, Nusa Tenggara Barat. They are strict adherent to their traditional beliefs in their rituals, so  they become the target of dahuah (propagation) by Community "waktu lima" which consider themselves to have carried Islamic teaching in the right path. This research is qualitative in nature and employs cultural anthropology in its approach. The finding tells the readers that Wetu Telu are still Moslems who believe in Allah and His messenger, Muhammad. But in their ritual, they still have blended their Islamic teachings with their traditional beliefs. It is a living spirit they have maintained for a long time which worth respecting for a peace-co existence among them, the Moslem believers.

Abstract

Khilafah is viewed as the most idealform of Governance and leadershipfor islamic society. For almost thirteen centuries, khilafah has united Islamic society whole the world by its glorious institution and civilization progress. The abolishment of khilafah appeared a big protest in whole Islamic world especially from Islamic figures which come from in and outside Turkish who contra of kemal. One of movement which is still exist to struggle for khilafah is Hizbut Tahrir It was established in 1952 in Bait al Maqdis Yerussalem and it was spread in every provinces in Indones ia including Jambi. It works by embracing the public figure, thingking of government side and joining with the intellectuals. However they still thought khilafah is too idealism and hard to realize.

Abstract

The moslems have done the death feast practice (Kenduri Kematian) since a long time ago, if it refered to classical and contemporary fiqh books, there is no scholar of moslems that suggested this tradition. On the contrary, they prohibit and carp it. IAIN STS Jambi is islamic college that represent the place of masters in islamic theologt. To the lecturers that have competence are asked their views about the practice of Kenduri Kematian which they perceive by thentselves and related to knowledge. As the result of this research, most of them refuse this tradition because it is not based on syari. The data presentation is in the form of naration which is written expression tofollow responders opinion easily.

Abstract

The writing discusses the theology of multicultural pluralism. Theology is a scientific knowledge that discusses about God and Its relation to universe. It cannot be denied that the era of globalization creates the unity of civilization as the concequnce of informative communication development. Therefore, Islamic society have to maintain their identity and realize the existence of religious pluralism multiculturalism and egalitarianism. The term of "theology" is come from Christian, however we do not have to refuse the terms that comes from other religious, because they could probably help us to understand Islam from many perspective. According to AI-Quran, religious pluralism, Holy Books, syirah, manhaj, and culture are natural law (sunnatullah).

Abstract

This research aims to show up the local islamic society tradition named Ritual Mandi Safor which getfocusfrom various community of islam itself. Riual Mandi Safar represents one of local area ancestor heritage assumed can refuse misfortunes (accident, disaster and disease epidemic). However as the local tradition which is related to islam, it generate pros and contra among the society that support and also refuse it. Relating to that reason, this research aims tofind the meaning of symbol and function of Ritual Mandi Safar for the society that support it. How far their understanding to this rittral and the advantages for their daily life and also the role of local government to remain this tradition.

Abstract

The children on public road represent one of the social problem faced by indonesian nation. In every country in this world also find the same social problem as the problem of prostitution which is difficult to find the exact formula to handle it, as complicated as the problem of children on public road. The amount of waif is clearly increasing although it almost impossible to get the opening statistic. Government is assessed cannot do many things to save them. Everyday, the children on the public road are fear of various threat includes the bad behaviour of government officers. In Jambi, the problem of children on public road is complicated enough to solve because its handling is not just to give symphatic paid, so that the government should have the exact policy to handle it. Their social balance are need to think of because what they will be f they have imbalance social problem? this will result bad effect for their behaviour and environtment in the future.

Abstract

The efficiency of zakat for productive activities has a strong Islamic basic, although in Alquran is not explicitly stated so, but there is afreedom in managing the way to use it whether for consumptive or productive activities. The perceptions in society especially for small trader in Jambi got zakat for productive activities is very satisfying. The leading of zakat which has been done by Bazda Jambi could increase the living level or the income for that small trader (Mustahik).

Abstract

Economic crisis which knock over world in this time, is factor from mistake of itself human being, running economic system capitalist, this system only giving wide of opportunity to big investors, whereas small investors will be pulled over. Differ the things of with economic system of Islam applying the infinite system, justice, prohibition order obligation and lap pay forreligious obligatory (zakat). This matter make economic growth and growth of Islam go forward by significant. Therefore need the existence of Islam economic principle implementation in national economic system. One of the way of by applying sharing holder system (profit-sharing).
