Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui strategi promosi perpustakaan Pustakalana dalam menarik minat kunjung pemustaka. Fokus penelitian adalah bagaimana perencanaan promosi, pelaksanaan promosi, dan pengendalian promosi di perpustakaan Pustakalana. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah wawanacara, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Untuk uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan teknik triangulasi sumber yang dilakukan dengan mewawancarai narasumber ahli dalam bidang promosi perpustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dapat disimpulkan bahwa perpustakaan Pustaka-lana dalam perencanaan promosi melakukan analisis target pemustaka, analisis SWOT perpustakaan, dan menentukan tujuan promosi perpustakaan. Dari ketiga hal tersebut perpustakaan menentukan media promosi yang akan digunakan dan pesan yang ingin disampaikan. Pada pelaksanannya, promosi perpustakaan Pustakalana menggunakan media promosi brosur, penjualan perorangan, pemberian potongan harga, penggunaan media sosial (instagram, facebook, dan blog), kegiatan FHBA (Festival Hari Buku Anak), informasi dari mulut ke mulut, dan penjualan langsung (whatsapp dan email). Perpustakaan Pustakalana melakukan monitoring dan penilaian terhadap media promosi yang digunakan, dan hasilnya media promosi yang paling efektif adalah instagram. Kendala yang dihadapi perpustakaan Pustakalana dalam melakukan promosi adalah kekurangan sumber daya manusia, sehingga pelaksanaan beberapa kegiatan terhambat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan tahap perencanaan pada pembinaan Perpustakaan Dewata Desa Wage Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Sidoarjo, (2) mendeskripsikan tahap pengorganisasian pada pembinaan Perpustakaan Dewata Desa Wage Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Sidoarjo, (3) mendeskripsikan tahap pelaksanaan pada pembinaan Perpustakaan Dewata Desa Wage Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Sidoarjo, dan (4) mendeskripsikan tahap pengawasan pada pembinaan Perpustakaan Dewata Desa Wage Kecamatan Taman Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pendekatan dan jenis penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif. Pada pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, observasi dan telaah dokumen. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut, (1) Tahap perencanaan Perpustakaan Dewata terdiri dari (a) laporan kegiatan tahunan, (b) keterkaitan visi dan misi, (c) keterlibatan pihak Perpustakaan Dewata, dan (d) perencanaan pembinaan perpustakaan  berbasis kegiatan, (2) Tahap pengorganisasian terdapat (a) struktur organisasi Perpustakaan Dewata (b) pembagian wewenang dan tanggung jawab, serta (c) pengalokasian sumber daya manusia, (3) Tahap pelaksanaan terdiri dari (a) kepemimpinan dan (b) tata kerja yang harus dijalankan, sehingga pelaksanaan pembinaan dapat berjalan sesuai tujuan yang telah ditetapkan, dan (4) Tahap pengawasan tediri dari (a) pengawasan internal dari Kepala Perpustakaan Dewata dan (b) pengawasan eksternal dari Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Sidoarjo.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial saat ini sudah menjadi kebutuhan primer setiap mahasiswa, termasuk mahasiswa di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Aktivitas penggunaan media sosial dilakukan untuk mendapatkan hiburan, eksistensi, bahkan informasi seputar politik. Penelitian ini fokus pada penggunaan media sosial dalam mengembangkan literasi politik di kalangan mahasiswa di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan metode survei, sampel dalam penelitian sejumlah 100 mahasiswa, analisis data dilakukan dengan studi komparatif untuk mengetahui perbedaan dan persamaan di antara mahasiswa Indonesia dan Malaysia. Tujuan penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengungkap bagaimana penggunaan media sosial terhadap literasi politik mahasiswa di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Mahasiswa Malaysia dan Indonesia sebagai cara untuk memahami realitas perbedaan literasi politik diantara dua negara.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat persamaan antara mahasiswa di Indonesia dan Malaysia bahwa media sosial dapat mengembangkan literasi politik dengan kategori kesadaran dalam kegiatan politik lokal, nasional dan internasional, hak dan kewajiban sebagai warga negara, memahami istilah baru dalam politik dan percaya serta yakin dalam menentukan pilihan pada pemilihan umum.

Abstract

The study evaluated the use of the library by legal practitioners in Kwara State. A descriptive survey was adopted, a simple random sampling technic was adopted for the sample selection of participants and the questionnaire serves as an instrument for data collection. A sample size of 257 participants was selected from the study population of 772 and only 252 copies of the questionnaire are returned and found useful, constituting a 98% returned rate. The study found that law reports, law textbooks, reference materials, index and abstracts, legal periodicals, legislation and statutes, and digests are the library resources available to legal practitioners. It was further reported that the majority of the respondents use legal periodicals, law reports, law textbooks, indexes and abstracts, legislation and statutes, and digest daily while the majority of them use reference materials only once in a month. The majority of the respondents purposely use library resources to further knowledge on legal issues; for work in progress; to keep informed of the development in the legal profession; to defend their client in the court of law, and for case preparation. The test hypothesis indicated that there is gender difference in male and female legal practitioners’ use of library resources in Kwara state. The reason for this is that the t-value is 84.961, and the associated p-value which is 0.000 less than the level of significance 0.05. Also, the mean score of male legal practitioners is significantly higher than the mean score of female legal practitioners, that is, the mean score of male legal practitioners is 37.190 compared to the mean score of female legal practitioners which is 28.832? The study, therefore, recommended that adequate provision should be made for current legal information resources in the library.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the information behavior of reference librarians in meeting users' information needs at the Diponegoro University Library. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers have interviewed six informants. The data analysis method used is by using thematic analysis method. The results showed that the information behavior carried out by reference librarians in meeting users' information needs at the Diponegoro University Library can be seen when reference librarians can help users meet their information needs. Information behavior carried out by reference librarians in helping users meet their information needs can be done by providing reference services at the Diponegoro University Library, knowing and meeting users' information needs. Reference librarians can also assist users in meeting their information needs by guiding users on how to search for information by the information needs of users quickly and precisely.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the librarian's perception of implementing the National Library Standard at the UPT Library of Diponegoro University, Semarang. This qualitative research method uses observation and interviews as data collection techniques. Interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner and involved five informants. The data obtained were then analyzed using thematic analysis from the results of data analysis determined 4, namely, the application of the SNP, the function of the SNP, the constraints on the application of the SNP, and the evaluation of the SNP. The application of the SNP includes the development of collections, infrastructure, library materials processing, and staff. The function of the SNP is to improve the quality of collections, consideration of accreditation assessment, reference in management, and reference uniformity of library management in Indonesia. Obstacles to applying SNP are constraints in the management and constraints of library policy. The evaluation of the SNP includes the SNP adding a discussion on up-to-date virtual visits, detailed explanations regarding the addition of collections, coordination between PNRI and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education regarding the application of higher education SNPs, administrative discipline, and continuing to implement SOPs and guidebooks. The results of this study are helpful for university libraries that implement SNP and for libraries that plan to use SNP as a standard for library services in universities.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities have a legal position and the same human rights as Indonesian citizens, including obtaining and utilizing public services. Library and archive services of Sumatera Utara as a public institution that is useful in meeting the needs of education, research, preservation, information, and recreation for visitors regardless of disabilities. This research was conducted to determine the library in facilitating persons with disabilities in physically accessing the library and special services for information sources on disabilities. Based on the objectives and form of the problem in this study, the research design uses mixed methods. The instrument used in this study was the itemS of the International Federation Library Association and Institution (IFLA) standard and supported by the interview questions to the informants. The results of this study explain that accessibility for persons with disabilities in the library has not fully met the criteria, with an average gain of 0.37 (almost inappropriate)

Abstract

The study investigated the extent of availability of Library Assistive Technology and its influence on library services quality as well as factors that impede its availability and application in Southwestern Nigeria Federal University Libraries. The study adopted descriptive survey research design while population comprised of all library users in the six federal university libraries in Southwestern Nigeria. 1,200 library users were selected using multistage sampling procedure. Questionnaire titled “Library Assistive Technology (LAT) and Service Quality” (LATSQ) was used to gather data analysed using mean, standard deviation and regression analysis. The decision rule was = 2.0 as high extent and 2.0 as low extent, the results showed that LATs were to a high extent available. The findings showed that the overall quality of service exhibited was very high. So also inadequacy power supply, internet facility, ICT infrastructure, settings of the furniture, staff knowledge of the operationalization of LAT, level of LAT skills, high cost of possessing LAT, cost of maintenance of LAT infrastructure, occasional breakdown of LAT facilities, and inadequate funds, The study concluded that the high quality of service delivered is not as a result of availability and usage of various types of library assistive technology.

Abstract

This research is conducted because of the low reading interest of Cikeruh I Public Elementary School students. The students spent more time playing than reading during their spare time. This research aims to build reading interest through "ABC Lima Dasar modifikasi" Games at Cikeruh State Elementary School I. The scope of this research is based on the traditional game modification strategy of learning, including modification of tools, improvement of game rules, change of learning approaches, and development of variations in skills. The research method used is action research. Data collection techniques to determine user needs are done by interview, observation, and literature study. While data collection techniques to assess user responses are done using a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that “ABC Lima Dasar modifikasi” Game in building up reading interest was under the needs and expectations of the school and was following the traditional learning game modification strategy by paying attention to four methods, including tool modification game rule modification, modification of learning approaches and development of skill variations. User responses after an action research study produced the fact that there was an increased interest in reading and library visits. The conclusion of this research is based on the traditional game modification strategy of learning to make students comfortable in playing, train students' skills, and make students interested in reading books in the library.

Abstract

Higher education libraries generally provide library material collection needs for non-disabled users, while disabled users also need the same. The purpose of this study was to determine the policy governance of the development of the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which was friendly and inclusive, and student responses to the policy governance of the development of the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which was pleasant and inclusive. The research method uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive involving 33 respondents. Researchers used questionnaires and interviews to obtain data. The results of this study indicate that the management of library UPT development policies includes information resource management policies, collection development for disabled users, and facilities and infrastructure policies for disabled users. The results of student responses to information resource management policies are high, 63.6%, responses to collection development policies are medium, 36.4%, and answers to facilities and infrastructure development policies are very low, 54.5%. Overall, the student response to the policy of developing the UPT library at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, which is disability-friendly and inclusive, is shallow, at 39.4%. The conclusion from these results is that the development of the Disabled and Inclusive UNS Library UPT is essential for improvement, especially policies in the field of facilities and infrastructure.
