Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan panduan pembelajaran yang layak digunakan sebagai alternatif sumber belajar biologi di tinjau dari aspek materi/isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, dan kegrafisan; (2) mengetahui keefektifan panduan dalam memunculkan karakter positif peserta didik (bersahabat/komunikatif, tanggung jawab, dan peduli lingkungan) selama kegiatan; dan (3) mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik pada materi keanekaragaman lichen dan tumbuhan paku serta lingkungannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model 4D (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data hasil penilaian panduan, keterlaksanaan kegiatan, dan kemunculan indikator karakter peserta didik dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Saran pengembangan produk dan saran untuk pelaksanaan kegiatan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Data skor pemahaman dinalaisis dengan teknik gain score. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) panduan belajar layak digunakan sebagai alternatif sumber belajar biologi ditinjau dari aspek materi/isi, penyajian, kebahasaan, dan kegrafisan; (2) panduan belajar secara efektif memunculkan karakter peserta didik (bersahabat/komunikatif, tanggung jawab, dan peduli lingkungan) selama berkegiatan; dan (3) panduan belajar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik pada materi keanekaragaman lichen dan tumbuhan paku serta lingkungannya. Kata kunci: panduan, edutourism   DEVELOPING EDUTOURISM GUIDES HUTAN WISATA TLOGO NIRMOLO TO ACTUALIZE STUDENT CHARACTER OF GRADE X Abstract This study aims to: (1) developing a suitable learning guides which used as an alternative source of learning biology in terms of the material/content, presentation, linguistic, and graphics components; (2) determine the effectiveness of the guides in eliciting positive behavior of students (friendly/communicative, responsibility, and care for the environment) during activities; and (3) determine student’s improvement understanding of diversity of lichen and ferns as well as the environment. This study is a research and development with the 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Data assessment the guides, activities enforceability, and the actualization of a character indicator learners analyzed quantitatively. Product development advice and suggestions for the implementation of analyzed qualitatively. The results show that: (1) the learning guides was considered very good in terms of material/content, presentation, linguistics, and graphics components; (2) during the activities, learners could actualize character of friendly/communicative, responsible, and care for the environment very positively; and (3) the learning guides could improve learner’s understanding of biodiversity of lichen and fern as well as its surroundings. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran InSTAD terhadap: (1) keterampilan proses sains peserta didik, (2) hasil belajar kognif peserta didik, dan (3) proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan mengguna-kan desain kuasi eksperimen. Analisis data menggunakan Independent t-test dan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) penerapan model pembelajaran InSTAD secara signifikan lebih berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan proses sains dibandingkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, dan hal ini ditunjukkan dengan output (t= 7.47 dan 7.53) dengan signifikansi sebesar 0.00 (sigifikansi 0.05); (2) penerapan model pembelajaran InSTAD secara signifikan lebih berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dibandingkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, dan hal ini ditunjukkan dengan output (t= 4.41dan 5.00) dengan signifikansi sebesar 0.00 (sigifikansi 0.05); (3) penerapan model pembelajaran InSTAD secara signifikan lebih berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar kognitif dibandingkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, dan hal ini ditunjukkan dengan output (F= 26.36) dan signifikansi sebesar 0.00 (sigifikansi 0.05). Kata Kunci: InSTAD, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar kognitif   THE EFFECT OF InSTAD LEARNING MODEL ON THE SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS AND COGNITIVE LEARNING OUTCOMES IN PHYSICS IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Abstract This study aims to find out the effect of InSTAD learning model on: (1) the science process skills of the students, (2) the cognitive learning outcomes of the students, (3) the science process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of the students. This study is a quantitative research using a quasi-experimental design. The data analysis used the Independent t-test and MANOVA. The results show that: (1) the implementation of InSTAD learning model gives a significantly more positive effect to the science process skills of the students than guided inquiry learning does, and it is shown by the output value of the t-test (7.47 and 7.53) at the significance level of 0.00. (significance 0.05); (2) the implementation of InSTAD learning model gives a significantly more positive effect to the cognitive learning outcomes of students than guided inquiry learning does, and it is shown by the output value of the t-test (4.41and 5.00) at the significance level of  0.00 (significance 0.05); (3) the implementation of InSTAD learning model gives a significantly more positive effect to the science process skills and learning outcomes of students than guided inquiry learning does, and it is shown by the output value of the F-test (26.36) at the significance level of 0.00 (significance 0.05). Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri berdasarkan hasil penilaian dosen ahli dan guru IPA, dan (2) mengukur keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri dalam meningkatkan critical thinking skills dan scientific attitude siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah research and development (R&D) yang mengadaptasi model penelitian pengembangan Borg & Gall. Subjek uji coba produk terdiri atas 34 siswa kelas VII SMPN 14 Yogyakarta dan 52 siswa SMPN 1 Piyungan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, angket, dan tes. Data dikumpulkan melalui pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi, lembar angket, dan soal tes. Data kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis dengan menggunakan konversi skor skala 4. Keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan critical thinking skills dan scientific attitude siswa dianalisis dengan multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) dan gain score. Hasil validasi dan uji coba produk menunjukkan bahwa (1) perangkat pembelajaran IPA layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran dan (2) efektif dalam meningkatkan critical thinking skills dan scientific attitude siswa. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran IPA, inkuiri, critical thinking skills, scientific attitude   AN INQUIRY-BASED NATURAL SCIENCE TEACHING PACKAGE TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND SCIENTIFIC ATTITUDE Abstract The objectives of this study are (1) to explain the validity of an inquiry-based natural science teaching package and (2) to measure the effectiveness of an inquiry-based natural science teaching package to improve junior high school student’s critical thinking skills and scientific attitude. The method of this study was research and development (R & D) adapted from the development model by Borg & Gall. The product testing subjects consisted of 34 students of SMPN 14 Yogyakarta and 52 students of SMPN 1 Piyungan. The data collection techniques were interviews, questionnaires, observation, and tests. The data were collected using an interview guide, validation questionnaire sheet, readability questionnaire worksheet, pretestt-posttest questions, project assessment sheet, questionnaires, and an observation sheet.  The validity of the teaching package was analyzed by converting four scales. The effectiveness of the teaching package to improve student’s critical thinking skills and scientific attitude was analyzed through the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and gain score. The result of the validation and the product testing indicated that the teaching package (1) can be used in the natural science teaching and (2) can improve students’ critical thinking skills and scientific attitude effectively. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian penyusunan media pembelajaran berupa video yang layak untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep suksesi. Metode pengambilan video berlokasi di lereng Merapi yang sesuai dengan perkiraan perkembangan suksesi ekosistem. Pengujian kelayakan produk melibatkan beberapa ahli sedangkan pengujian kelas terdiri dari uji coba terbatas dan uji coba lapangan. Uji coba terbatas melibatkan 30 mahasiswa sedangkan uji coba lapangan melibatkan 30 mahasiswa kelas eksperimen dan 30 mahasiswa kelas kontrol. Penelitian pertama tentang kondisi perkuliahan, penelitian kedua tentang pengujian produk. Hasil uji produk, mendapatkan penilaian minimal “Baik”. Uji coba terbatas, hasilnya “Sangat Baik”. Pada uji coba lapangan, produk diuji penggunaannya pada peningkatan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep, serta uji beda terhadap kelas kontrol. Hasil uji kelayakan mendapatkan penilaian “Baik” dan analisis gain score kedua variabel, mendapatkan hasil lebih tinggi untuk kelas eksperimen. Hasil uji beda menandakan adanya perbedaan antara kedua kelas, artinya media pembelajaran berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan konsep. Kata Kunci: foto, video, perbandingan, suksesi ekosistem, gunung Merapi, motivasi belajar, penguasaan konsep.   THE DEVELOPMENT OF VIDEO LEARNING ECOSYSTEM SUCCESSION TO IMPROVE LEARNING MOTIVATION AND MASTERY OF CONCEPT FOR BIOLOGICAL STUDENTS Abstract This research was aimed to establish video learning ecosystem succession that deserves to improve learning motivation and mastery of the concept of succession. Capturing video is located on the slopes of Merapi, which according to estimates of ecosystem succession development. Testing the feasibility of a product involves several experts and testing in a class consisting of limited testing and field trial tests. Limited test involving 30 students while the field trial involving 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The first step in this research is to analyze condition of the course and the second step is on product testing. Test results of product, get a minimum grade is "good". On limited testing, the results is "Very Good". In field trial tests, its use product tested on improving learning motivation and mastery of concepts, as well as different test against the control class. The results of the feasibility test get grades of "Good" and the gain score analysis the both of variable, getting higher results for the experimental class. Results of the different test indicate a difference between the two classes, it means video learning influential to improving learning motivation and mastery of concepts. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan multimedia berbasis masalah dengan materi redoks, (2) menganalisis kualitas multimedia berbasis masalah, serta (3) menguji keefektifan multimedia berbasis masalah dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian dan pengembangan berdasarkan model Borg Gall. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian ini meliputi peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket untuk validasi media, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar observasi motivasi belajar, angket motivasi belajar, dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pengembangan multimedia berbasis masalah materi redoks dilaksanakan sesuai dengan prosedur pengembangan, (2) secara umum kualitas multimedia berbasis masalah termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, dan (3) multimedia berbasis masalah efektif untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran materi redoks. Kata kunci: multimedia berbasis masalah, motivasi belajar, kemampuan berpikir kritis.   DEVELOPING MULTIMEDIA BASED ON PROBLEM TO INCREASE STUDENT’S LEARNING MOTIVATION AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILL Abstract The aims of this research are (1) developing the multimedia based on problem in redox’s chapter, (2) analysing the quality of multimedia based on problem, and (3) testing the effectiveness of multimedia based on problem in increasing student’s learning motivation and critical thinking skill. This research used Borg Gall research and development’s model. The subject of the research is the grade X students of SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. The data were collected by using media validation’s questionnaire, learning process observation sheet, learning motivation’s questionnaire and obser-vation sheet, and critical thinking skill’s test. The results of the research show that (1) the development of multimedia based on problem in redox’s chapter is done based on the development procedure, (2) generally, the quality of multimedia which has been developed can be categorized as very good; and (3) the multimedia based on problem is effective to increase student’s learning motivation and critical thinking skill in redox’s chapter. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) menghasilkan buku pedoman guru untuk pembelajaran fisika SMA menggunakan model problem solving sesuai level inkuiri yang layak digunakan; (2) mendeskripsikan keberhasilan pembelajaran fisika menggunakan model problem solving (MPS) sesuai dengan level inkuiri sesuai dengan buku pedoman terhadap peningkatan aktivitas peserta didik dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan, sesuai langkah yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall. Subjek coba menggunakan delapan kelas. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran, lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan tes kemampuan berfikir kritis peserta didik. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji multivariat (Manova). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk yang dikembangkan ditinjau dari aspek materi, petunjuk umum buku, RPP LKPD, dan perangkat penilaiam pembelajaran menurut ahli materi dan ahli media berkategori baik dan terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berfikir kritis dan aktivitas belajar peserta didik yang signifikan antara keenam level inkuiri yang diujicobakan. Kata Kunci: model problem solving, level inkuiri, kemampuan berfikir kritis, aktivitas belajar   DEVELOPING A HANDBOOK FOR TEACHER IN TEACHERS HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL PHYSICS USE THE MODEL OF PROBLEM SOLVING LEVEL OF INQUIRY Abstract This study aims to: (1) to produce a handbook for teachers high school level physics use a model of problem solving with level of inquiry fit for use; (2) to determine the successful learning of physics using a model of problem solving in accordance with the level of inquiry to increase learning activities of learners and critical thinking abilities of learners. This research is the development, which refers to measures developed by Borg Gall. The subject try consists of eight classes. Data collection using the questionnaire responses of learners, observation sheets learning process, observation sheet activities and critical thinking ability test learners. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis (Manova). The results showed that the product is developed in terms of material aspects, the general guide book, subject specific paedagogy, students worksheet and the evaluation of learning by material experts and media experts categorized good and differences in the increase in critical thinking skills and learning activities of learners between the significant and simultaneous kenam inquiry levels tested. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) validitas model pembelajaran hypnoteaching beserta perangkat pembelajarannya; (2) pengaruh model pembelajaran hypnoteaching terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa; dan (3) pengaruh model pembelajaran hypnoteaching terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas XI SMA/MA. Prosedur pengembangan dalam penelitian ini diadaptasi dari Model Borg Gall yang meliputi studi pendahuluan dan pengumpulan informasi, perencanaan dan perancangan, penyusunan draf model pembelajaran dan validasi, uji coba terbatas dan revisi, uji coba diperluas dan penyempurnaan produk, serta diseminasi dan implementasi produk. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan uji multivariat (MANOVA). Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: (1) Model pembelajaran hypnoteaching beserta perangkatnya, secara empiris valid dan reliabel dengan kategori “Sangat Baik”. (2) Model pembelajaran hypnoteaching mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan motivasi belajar siswa kelas XI SMAN 2 Banguntapan dan MAN Yogyakarta III, hal ini dibuktikan dengan uji MANOVA dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) = 0,000 pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. (3) Model pembelajaran hypnoteaching mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI SMAN 2 Banguntapan dan MAN Yogyakarta III, yang dibuktikan dengan uji MANOVA dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig.) = 0,000 pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Kata Kunci: model pembelajaran, hypnoteaching, motivasi belajar, hasil belajar kognitif   DEVELOPING OF HYPNOTEACHING LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE THE MOTIVATION AND STUDENT'S LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT OF BIOLOGY OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Abstract This research aims to find out: (1) the validity of hypnoteaching learning model including the learning tools; (2) the effect of hypnoteaching learning model for the increasing of student’s learning motivation; and (3) the effect of hypnoteaching learning model for the increasing of student’s learning achievement of biology in 11th grade of senior high school. The procedure development in this reseach was based on the procedural model sequence that was adapted from Borg Gall Model which included preliminary study and collecting of information, planning and designing, drafting of the learning model and validation, limited experiment and revision, extended experiment and product refining, dissemination, and then product implementation. The techniques of data analysis used are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics that used multivariate analysis (MANOVA). The results of this research are: (1) The hypnoteaching learning model with the tools are empiricly valid and reliabel with has  “the best” category. (2) Hypnoteaching learning model have a significant effect for increasing the student’s learning motivation of 11th grade of 2nd Banguntapan Senior High School and Islamic 3nd Senior High School of Yogyakarta, this is evidenced by MANOVA tes that shows the significant level (Sig.) = 0,000 with the confidence level is 95%. (3) Hypnoteaching learning model have a significant effect for the increasing of student’s learning achievement in 11th grade of 2nd Banguntapan Senior High School and Islamic 3nd Senior High School of Yogyakarta, this is evidenced by MANOVA test that shows the significant level (Sig.) = 0,000 with the confidence level is 95%. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki kelayakan dan efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri untuk meningkatkan creative thinking skills dan work creatively with others siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Borg Gall. Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan draf produk awal, (4) revisi pertama, (5) uji coba lapangan pendahuluan, (6) revisi kedua, (7) uji coba lapangan utama, (8) revisi produk akhir, dan (9) diseminasi. Subjek uji coba produk yaitu siswa kelas VII SMPN. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode observasi, angket, dan tes. Lembar angket validasi dan lembar angket keterbacaan LKS digunakan untuk mengukur kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran. Soal pretest-posttest dan lembar penilaian proyek digunakan untuk mengukur creative thinking skills. Lembar angket, lembar observasi, dan lembar penilaian antarteman digunakan untuk mengukur work creatively with others. Kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis dengan konversi skor menggunakan skala 4. Efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran dianalisis dengan paired-samples t test, multivariate analysis of covariance (mancova), gain score, dan persen peningkatan. Hasil penelitian ini berupa produk perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis inkuiri pada tema “Kalor dan Pengaturan Suhu Tubuh” yang layak dan efektif meningkatkan creative thinking skills dan work creatively with others siswa. Kata Kunci: perangkat pembelajaran IPA, inkuiri, creative thinking skills, work creatively with others.   DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTATION AN INQUIRY-BASED NATURAL SCIENCE LEARNING PACKAGE Abstract This study aims to investigate the appropriateness and the effectiveness of inquiry-based natural science learning package to improve junior high school student’s creative thinking skills and work creatively with others. This study employed the development model by Borg Gall. The research procedure consisted of: (1) preliminary study, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary form of product, (4) first revision, (5) preliminary field testing, (6) second revision, (7) main field testing, (8) final product revision, and (9) dissemination. The product testing subjects were students of grade VII SMP. The data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and tests. Pretestt-posttest questions and project assessment sheet were used to measure creative thinking skills. Questionnaires, observa-tion sheet, and peer assessment sheet were used to measure work creatively with others. The appro-priateness of learning package was analyzed through four scales converted. The effectiveness of learning package was analyzed through paired-samples t test, multivariate analysis of covariance (mancova), gain score, and percentage of improvement. The result of the study was an inquiry-based natural science learning package for the “Heat and Body Temperature Regulatory” topic which appropriates and could improve student’s creative thinking skills and work creatively with others effectively. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan model pembelajaran fisika berbasis Malcom’s Modeling Method yang layak digunakan di sekolah, dan (2) mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran fisika berbasis Malcom’s Modeling Method dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam ranah penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). Prosedur pengembangan mengadaptasi dari prosedur pengembangan yang dikembangkan oleh Borg Gall dengan langkah-langkah meliputi (1) penelitian dan pengumpulan data, (2) perencanaan, (3) pengembangan bentuk awal produk, (4) uji coba lapangan awal, (5) revisi hasil uji coba lapangan awal, (6) uji coba lapangan, (7) revisi hasil uji coba lapangan dan (8) diseminasi. Subjek uji coba lapangan awal terdiri atas 36 siswa kelas X MIA 6 di SMA N 7 Yogyakarta. Subjek uji coba lapangan pada kelas ekperimen terdiri atas 36 orang siswa kelas X MIA 1 dan pada kelas kontrol terdiri atas 34 orang siswa kelas X MIA 5 di SMA N 7 Yogyakarta. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan soal untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis, angket untuk mengukur motivasi belajar, angket respon siswa dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji MANOVA dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Malcom’s Modeling Method ditinjau dari sintaks, sistem sosial, prinsip reaksi, sistem pendukung dan dampak instruksional dan pengiring layak digunakan di sekolah dengan kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji MANOVA menunjukkan model Malcom’s Modeling Method dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa pada taraf signifikansi 5 %. Kata Kunci: Malcom’s Modeling Method, keterampilan berpikir kritis, motivasi belajar.   DEVELOPING A PHYSICS INSTRUCTION MODEL BASED ON MALCOLM’S MODELING TO IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND LEARNING MOTIVATION Abstract This research aims to (1) develop a physics instruction model based on Malcolm’s modeling method, which is eligible for school and (2) reveal if the physics instruction model based on Malcolm’s modeling method can develop the critical thinking skills and learning motivation of students. This research is research and development (R D) adapting the developmental procedure of Borg and Gall consisting, of (1) research and information collecting, (2) planning, (3) developing preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing, (7) operasional product revision, and (8) disseminating. The subjects of the preliminary field testing were 36 students of class X MIA 6, SMA N 7 Yogyakarta. The subjects of main field testing were 36 students of class X MIA1 as the  experiment class and 34 students of class X MIA 5 as the control class in SMA N 7 Yogyakarta. The data were collected using a test to measure the critical thinking, questionnaires to measure the learning motivation of the students, student response questionnaires and observation sheet. The data were analyzed using MANOVA with the significance level of 5%.The result of this research shows that the physics instruction model based on Malcolm’s modeling method in terms of syntax, social system, principles of reaction, support system, instructio-nal and nurturant effect is eligible for the school which is in a very good category according to the validator. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) dan mengetahui (1) kelayakan produk, (2) keefektifan produk untuk meningkatkan scientific literacy, serta (3) keefektifan produk untuk meningkatkan foundational knowledge peserta didik kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi Klaten. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan 3 tahap prosedur pengembangan yaitu need assesment, development dan reasearch dengan desain nonequivalent control group. Perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis SETS terdiri atas silabus, RPP, Lembar Kegiatan Peserta Didik (LKPD), dan instrumen penilaian otentik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelayakan produk dinyatakan sangat baik dengan rerata skor 4,59 dari rentang 0-5. Semua peserta didik di kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan nilai scientific literacy dan foundational knowledge dengan kategori peningkatan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Implementasi produk berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan scientific literacy dan foundational knowledge yang menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol dengan kemampuan awal yang sama. Dengan demikian, perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis SETS terbukti efektif untuk meningkatkan scientific literacy dan foundational knowledge peserta didik kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi Klaten. Kata kunci: perangkat pembelajaran IPA, SETS, scientific literacy, foundational knowledge   DEVELOPING A SETS-BASED SCIENCE TEACHING KIT TO IMPROVE SCIENTIFIC LITERACY AND FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE Abstract This study aims to produce products such as a Science, Environment, Tecnology, and Society-based science teaching kit and to determine (1) the feasibility of the product, (2) the effectiveness of the product to improve scientific literacy, and (3) the effectiveness of the product to improve foundational knowledge for 7th grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi Klaten.. This study is a Research and Development (R D) with three phases procedure. They are need assesment, development dan reasearch with noneequivalent control using the control group. A SETS-based science teaching kit covering the syllabus, lesson plans, students worksheet, and authentic assessment instruments. The results showed the feasibility of the products avowed excellent with a mean score of 4,59 out of range 0-5. All students in the experimental class have increased the value of scientific literacy and foundational knowledge with increase category of high, medium, and low. Products implementation have a positive effect on the ability of scientific literacy and foundational knowledge which showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes with the same initial ability. Thus, SETS-based science teaching kit is proven effective to increase scientific literacy and foundational knowledge for 7th grade students in SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Wedi Klaten.
