The increasing of sugarcane productivity and yield is not only affected by factors of production such as seeds, fertilizer, labors, and herbicides. Other factors such as economic orientation and environmental awareness also show their effects on sugarcane productivity and yield. This research was conducted to determine the effect of economic orientation and environmental awareness both on productivity and yield of sugarcane community partners in the Wonolangan Sugar Factory. The study was conducted in Probolinggo and Lumajang Regency with 102 samples of farmers selected using simple random sampling. The measurement of the level of economic orientation and environmental awareness was carried out using Likert scale and was categorized as low, medium and high. The influence of economic orientation and environmental awareness both on productivity and yield of sugar cane were analyzed using multiple regression with the Cobb Douglas production function. Based on the results, the economic orientation and environmental awareness of farmers were relatively high and could increase sugarcane productivity and yield.

Agricultural land in urban areas has a strategic role as a provider of food for city resident, as well as supporting the environment of the urban area. The important role of the existence of agricultural land in urban areas over the past few decades faces a serious threat, namely the occurrence of agricultural land conversion. Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim to analyze the trend of agricultural land conversion in urban areas and to find out the factors that influence the agricultural land conversion in Pekalongan City. The data used in this study were secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Pekalongan City. Data were analyzed using trend model analysis and tobit models. The results showed that the trend of agricultural land conversion in Pekalongan City was positive, so there was a tendency for the agricultural land conversion to increase from year to year. The factors that influence the area of agricultural land conversion in Pekalongan City were the real price of paddy at the farmer level and paddy productivity. Both of these factors have a negative sign, it shows that an increase in real prices of paddy and paddy productivity could reduce the agricultural land conversion in Pekalongan City.

The problem of national food security could not be resolved if the problems at the lowest level (household) did not resolved. One of the effective strategy to achieve food security was increasing food diversification. This study compared the patterns of consumption and the level of diversification of household food among provinces that were resistant to food insecurity. This study used National Socio-Economic Survey (Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional/SUSENAS) data from Statistic Indonesia and analyzed using the Berry index and the Almost Ideal Demand System (LA / AIDS) model. This study found that the level of income and the level of food diversification in food secure province (East Kalimantan) were higher than those in food insecure province (East Nusa Tenggara). The patterns of household food consumption in East Nusa Tenggara province was more influenced by changes in income, while East Kalimantan was subject to price changes.

The notion of social capital is noble in social science literatures and recently getting noteworthy attention in economics. Its economic relevance has also been well documentedin empirical studies. In this paper, we established relationshipsbetween the stock of household social capital and annual net income following approach for binary logit. Besides, we examined the relative economic importance of general viz special stocks of social capital. Statistical requirements with logistic regression were all tested robust. Consequently, the effectof social capital stock on household economy has found substantial. Of the two distinct forms, the special facet of social capital was found better and significant contributor to householdeconomy. However, the general aspect was suggested insignificantasit was not meaningfully interpreted in the household economic network. Thus, a wise household need to appropriate the general to special social capital establishment, since every additional stock of the later could be meant to considerablyhelp own welfare.

The supply side of beef industry has not responded well to the rising demand for beef. This industry is still highly dependent on imported beef and feeder cattle for beef production to meet the local demand. The objective of this study is to analyse the impacts of different importation policy scenarios on beef industry in Peninsular Malaysia. A simulation model that based on estimated market model is used to analyse the policy. The findings imply that the number of import cattle for breeding (ICTB) should be maintained, while import of cattle for slaughter or feeder cattle should be increased by 20%. This will improve beef self-sufficiency level while stabilizing beef retail price.

The production of corn as the second most important cereal crops after rice is dominated by smallholders, particularly in West Kalimantan. However, smallholders in farmer cooperatives are unsustainable because of the lack of decision-making power at the grassroots level; limited access to land, capital, technologies, information and financial services; low market competitiveness; weak management; and limited policy and socio-cultural norms. This research aims to construct the behavior model for performance change of cooperative farmers in Rasau Jaya, Kubu Raya district, West Kalimantan. It involved 75 smallholders recruited using purposive sampling technique. In-depth interviews using the structural equation modeling/SEM based on the new institutional approach and the theory of planned behavior were used in the study. The findings proved that intentions and past behaviors have positive and negative influence on farmers' cooperative behavior, but contradicted with control. Therefore, there are several efforts for changing the behavior in corn farmers’cooperatives, i.e. the perceived behavioral control can stimulate the motivation to be long-lived performing based on the resources and opportunities; pro-environmental behavior needs to engage a supportive injunctive norm and a supportive descriptive norm; a subjective norm for motivation to exhibitthe positive experiential attitude; and the confidence to perform and control their performance.

In this study, we aims to determine the factors that affect the consumers’ food consumption behaviour and further to examine the impact of consumers’ food consumption behaviour toward food waste in urban area. This study collected 400 questionnaires from the Klang Valley, Malaysia. The findings showed that there are three latent factors from the factor analysis which related to the negative food consumption behaviour, which were consumers’ negative attitude on food demand, perceived behavioural control on food waste, and subjective norm. Multiple regression analysis showed that the negative food consumption attitude and perceived behavioural control on food waste have significant impact on the negative food consumption behaviour. Furthermore, the chi-square test showed that the percentage of food waste related to the difference level of negative consumption behaviour on food. Besides that, the Pearson Chi-square also showed that over demand for food and did not consume the food before expired date are highly significant associated with the number of food waste created by a household. In conclusion, consumers’ proper planning on food consumption, cooking, and food deliver order playing a significant role to reduce food waste in Malaysia.
