Abstract

This paper examines the investor reaction to earnings announcement around publication dates. This paper divides into two categories. There are the positiveearning announcements which include EPS increasing, and the negative-earning announcements which consist EPS decreasing. The examination of content and efficient market hypothesis used event study. We propose one hypothesis as positifearnings announcement and negative-earnings announcement correlate to stock price reactions in IDX. The sample are the 29 companies from LQ 45 that release the annual earnings of year 2004-2006. The earnings announcement date is taken from Indonesian Securities Supervisory Agency (Bapepam). Statistical test with standard error of estimate (SEE) was used to test the abnormal return during event periods. The results show that investor do not respond significantly to the positive and negative earnings announcement at the announcement dates. In addition, earning announcements suggest information contents to capital market. Finally, the empirical result is contrary to the finding of Ball and Brown (1968), Foster (1977), and Hayn (1995). However, this evidence supports the Lako’s studies (2002a, 2002c).

Abstract

This research is to find out the marketing on marketing mix and formulating marketing strategies for development of the UKMBatik Pamekasan to be able to compete with other products.The analysis used in this research are importance performance analysis used to measure the marketing mixed on consumer perceptions, PGCV index used to determine the priority scale of marketing mixed and SWOT analysis used to formulating marketing strategies UKMBatik Pamekasan.This research result indicates that the variables product in consumer expectations that the quality of the product batik, a coloring material and subtle product batik.In variable price in the hope that the consumer products already satisfy customers. In variable promotion, consumers were unsatiable for UKM based on variables place it was amazed at the ease of getting people in product markets. Based on the analysis SWOT acquired marketing strategy on UKMBatik Pamekasan namely by increasing the quality of the people to gain market share of broader at home and globally, the government is helping UKM batik to improve product promotion out the land to use the market to provide a bargain price based on the economy condition and to improve relations with the public servants/governance institutions in order to keep consumer products batik Pamekasan.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to analyze the performance of the stock mutual funds and composite mutual funds in Indonesia and to analyze the potency of the return growth of those mutual funds. This study used the monthly return (net asset value-NAV) of 7 stock mutual funds and 11 composite mutual funds, from January 2002 to December 2006*. The monthly composite index of the JSX is used as the proxy for market return. Jensen model is used as the tool to measure of the performance (indicated by Jensen alpha) and the potency of the return growth (indicated by beta). To get an accuracy of the analysis and to avoid bias beta problem, this beta has to be corrected with Fowler and Rorke model, adopted from Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). The main results of this research explained that the performance and the potency of the return growth of the stock mutual funds are higher than the composite mutual funds, during the period of analysis.

Abstract

This research purposes to examine the moderating role of gender on the entrepreneurial intention model. The Theory of the Entrepreneurial Event (TEE) and Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) are integrated as grand theory to explain the research. The data were obtained by involving 154 active undergraduate students as respondents. The results from Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis approach showed that gender moderate the direct effect of entrepreneurial knowledge on entrepreneurial intention significantly. The positive effect of entrepreneurial subjective norm on entrepreneurial intention is stronger and significant in female respondents than males. Furthermore, the effect of the perceived feasibility on entrepreneurial intention is not moderated by gender.

Abstract

To enlarge market share a company has to produce quality product, accordance with what the consumers want. At the large step company has to be able to see and give more attention to the customer (consumer) satisfaction factors. In the next steps company can identify their customer loyalty to their products, that are factors or variables influence consumers loyalty to select to buy their products. There are many factors that can identify whether the consumer is loyal or not, such as by knowing the characteristics of a loyal consumer : a) buy regularly, b) buy outside the product line, c) refuse other products and show resistance from competitors power of attraction (not easily influenced by competitors power of attraction for the same products), d) recommend from mouth to mouth. Included in this research is PT. X that produce baby milk, needs approaches to identify satisfaction and finally customers loyalty. The results of this research show that consumers percieve service quality they received as not yet fulfill their expectations. Improvement priority should be started from Responsiveness, Emphaty, Assurance, Tangible and Reliability dimensions. All consumer satisfaction dimensions, both directly or simultaneously influence to consumers loyalty. Consumer satisfaction for Tangible, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Emphaty dimensions together influence to consumer loyalty of 54.66%. Whereas other variables influences outside the service quality dimension to consumer loyalty of 45.34%

Abstract

Batik is known since 17th century. In 2009, UNESCO took batik as the world heritage. Likewise, Batik Semarang. Batik Semarang is unpopular than other batik’s products on Central Java. Their productivity is on small scale and only for environment surroundings. The small productivity causes the high price on their product selling. The aims of this research are to estimate the function of production and technical efficiency of batik Semarang. Sample is 67 owners of small scale batik Semarang industry. Analysis instrument is Stochastic Frontier Production Function. The measuring of production efficiency are material, support material, labor force, instruments, kerosene, firewood, and large of trade location. The result shows that free variable is found significant and have an appropriate signal. Other result shows that technical efficiency of batik Semarang industry is 88, 9%

Abstract

Spiritual leadership is creation of values, attitude and behavior which is required to motivate one’s selves and other by intrinsic motivation to achieve spiritual survival sense through calling and membership.  Impact of spiritual leadership in developing relationship between leader and follower are value creation in harmony, empowerment of member and individual, increase psychology aspect and welfare until the organizational commitment is achieved.  The objectives of the research are to gain knowledge regarding influence of spiritual leadership to organizational commitment through calling and membership. This research was conducted to 50 employees of PT Asuransi Takaful Keluarga Marketing Office in East Java.  Analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is Partial Least Square (PLS).Based on analysis result, we conclude that: (1) spiritual leadership is has significant influence to calling (2) spiritual leadership has significant influence to membership (3) calling has significant influence to organizational commitment and (4) membership has significant influence to organizational commitment. Keywords: Spiritual Leadership, Organizational Commitment, Calling/Meaning, Membership.

Abstract

Adanya tekanan ekonomi dan pendidikan wanita yang semakin maju mendukung semakin banyak wanita yang terjun ke dunia pekerjaan. Hal ini menyebabkan banyak wanita yang emainkan peran ganda dalam kehidupannya, yaitu peran sebagai pekerja dan peran sebagai istri/ ibu rumah tangga yang merupakan kodratnya, adanya peran ganda ini tak jarang menimbulkan konflik karena terbaginya perhatian terhadap masing-masing peran. Di saat melakukan perannya sebagai pekerja tak jarang pekerja wanita harus memikirkan juga masalah-masalah keluarga, sebaliknya saat menjalankan perannya sebagai ibu rumah tangga tak jarang pekerjaan-pekerjaan kantor yang belum selesai mengambil sebagian waktu dan pikirannya.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konflik keluarga-pekerjaan terhadap kinerja karyawan wanita pada Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Tirta Khatulistiwa Kota Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode atau desain penelitian kausalitas. Sampel penelitian ini sebanyak 43 karyawan khususnya wanita sudah menikah yang menggunakan metode sampel sensus. Data dikumpulkan dengan kuesioner dan menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Secara parsial, terdapat satu variabel yang terbukti secara signifikan mempengaruhi kinerja, yakni variabel tekanan perkawinan. (2) Secara simultan tidak ada pengaruh signifikan antara tekanan sebagai orang tua, tekanan perkawinan, kurangnya keterlibatan sebagai istri, kurangnya keterlibatan sebagai orangtua, dan campur tangan pekerjaan terhadap kinerja.

Abstract

The increasing adoption of pirated music products intesifies the needs to understand factors influecing consumers to buy pirated music products. This study examines the impact of attribute satisfaction, singer idolization, prosecution risk, social consensus, maginitude of consequences, and proximity on consumer attitude toward pirated music products and their intention to buy the products. Data was collected through online survey distributed on Facebook involving pirated music product consumers. Findings suggest that attribute satisfaction, maginitude of consequences, and proximity affect attitude toward the pirated music products, while attribute satisfaction, prosecution risk, social consensus, and maginitude of consequences influence consumer intention to buy pirated products. Research contributions and implications are discussed.

Abstract

Women who work and uphold the profession will be more likely to experience conflict, because indirectly he would be having attachment or more concentrate to work and put aside her role as a housewife. A sense that women are more concentrated due to work and put aside domestic affairs, this condition will bring conflicts that arise because they feel neglected work as a housewife in addition also the commitment owned organization, especially among civil servants. Conditions such as this is also the case in the Bhakti Dharma  Husada Hospital Surabaya, increasing consumer complaints in the past few years is an indication of a decrease in the performance of nurses and one of them was allegedly caused by conflicting roles experienced by nurses and resources woman in the hospital. This means that in this case the performance achieved is not in line with expectations because of the role that conflict. This study sample is 46 female nurses in Bhakti Dharma Husada Hospital Surabaya which will be reviewed in terms of work-family conflict and its influence on the performance of the organizational commitment owned. The results of analysis with Partial Least Square show that work-family conflict has no direct influence on the performance of nurses. Meanwhile, with the influence of organizational commitment variables inferred indirectly influence more significant. This suggests that organizational commitment to civil servants clearly will affect the performance without regard to work-family conflict undertaken female nurse.
