Abstract

In the learning process, teaching materials and LKPD are needed to train students' abilities in learning. However, the teaching materials used are not yet appropriate due to the lack of material in the textbooks, in addition, the number of textbooks is still limited, resulting in less effective learning. This will certainly be less effective learning because the textbooks or printed books provided by the school do not match the number of students. This supports the LKPD research which will later become one of the new teaching materials by teachers and students because by using LKPD, learning time can be optimized well and by using LKPD students will be easier in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to produce LKPD Based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) on the material of transport and exchange of substances in humans for SMA/MA which is valid and practical. The development research uses the 4D model. This model has four stages of development, namely the define , design , develop and disseminate stages . This research was conducted until the develop stage , namely the validity test and practicality test. The assessment instruments carried out at this stage consisted of validity and practicality questionnaires, this validity questionnaire consisted of content feasibility, language, didactical, and graphical, while the practicality questionnaire consisted of ease of use, benefits. The data were analyzed using percentage techniques and processed using descriptive analysis or determining the highest score and the final value of validity and practicality. Based on the results of the research test, the developed LKPD is very valid with a value of (89%), the results of the practicality test by 2 biology teachers on the developed LKPD are very practical (92%), and the practicality of 31 students is very practical (87%). Based on the results of the validity and practicality tests, it can be concluded that the student worksheet (LKPD) based on problem based learning (PBL) on the material of transport and exchange of substances in humans for phase f of SMA 1 Akabiluru Kab. Abstract

The growing demand for sustainable agriculture has heightened interest in organic fertilizers as eco-friendly alternatives to synthetic inputs. Organic fertilizer served as environmentally sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers, which, when overapplied, can adversely affect soil health, human health, and the physical environment. This study aimed to compare the effects of different organic fertilizers on the growth and yield of Brassica rapa chinensis (commonly known as pechay). Three types of organic fertilizers were examined: fish amino acid (FAA), compost, and vermicompost. The results indicated that FAA application yielded the highest growth responses in terms of stem height, leaf length, and the number of leaves, compared to the other organic fertilizers. However, analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed no statistically significant differences among the organic fertilizers concerning these growth parameters at harvest. Conversely, a significant difference was observed in the final weight of pechay, with FAA treatment producing the heaviest plants. In terms of pest resistance, statistical analysis showed a significant difference among the organic fertilizers based on the number of damaged leaves, with vermicompost treatment exhibiting the highest susceptibility to leaf damage. These findings suggest that while all tested organic fertilizers support the growth and yield of B. rapa chinensis, FAA may be the most effective in enhancing biomass accumulation, whereas vermicompost may increase vulnerability to pest damage. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term impacts of these fertilizers on soil health and crop productivity

Abstract

The increasing pollution of rivers due to domestic activities and urbanization highlights the importance of biology-based water quality monitoring. This study aims to assess the water quality of the Genteng River (Kalimas) in Surabaya using the biotilik method with macroinvertebrates as bioindicators. The research was conducted descriptively with a mixed quantitative and qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, sampling, and identification of macroinvertebrates based on the Biotilik guidelines. The identification results showed that the species composition was dominated by organisms tolerant to pollution. The average biotilik score of 1.5 classified the water quality in the Heavily Polluted category. These findings reflect a severely degraded river ecosystem. This study holds great potential to be utilized as contextual learning material in project-based Biology education, aiming to enhance students’ environmental awareness and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study investigated the effect of fish waste fertilizer and chicken manure on the growth of pakchoi (Brassica chinensis). The experiment was carried out in January 2020 at Puskopad Housing, Mojokerto, using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three treatments and nine replications, resulting in 27 experimental units. The treatments consisted of control (P1), fish waste fertilizer at 4.5% concentration (P2), and chicken manure at 25 g (P3). Plant height and number of leaves were observed as growth parameters. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The findings indicated that both fish waste fertilizer and chicken manure significantly influenced plant height, whereas no significant differences were observed in the number of leaves. These results suggest that organic fertilizers derived from fish waste and chicken manure can effectively enhance vegetative growth of pakchoi, particularly plant height, while leaf development remains unaffected. The study provides practical insights into the use of organic fertilizers as an alternative to chemical inputs and highlights their potential as an educational medium for promoting sustainable agriculture within communities
