Abstract

Current learning emphasizes the integration of science and technology to face the challenges of the 21st century. Elementary school students experience difficulties in developing critical thinking skills due to the limitations of thematic learning media and appropriate learning approaches. Teachers must support the learning process following the changing times, namely integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) into fun learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the approach stem using thematic learning media in developing the critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This research is a quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method with one-group-pre-test-post-test, which is to see the difference between the pre-test and post-test with 1 class without a control class. Furthermore, the data obtained in this study were in the form of students 'answers to data collection instruments that measured students' critical thinking skills before and after treatment with the approach STEM using thematic learning media. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it is concluded that the criteria for improving students' critical thinking skills are in the moderate category, there is a difference in the mean critical thinking skills between the pre-test group, namely before and the post-test group, namely after learning with the approach STEM using thematic learning media and the post-test group, that is, after learning with the approach STEM using thematic learning media has average critical thinking skills better than the pre-test group, namely before learning with the approach STEM using thematic learning media. Keywords: STEM, Learning Media, Thematic, Critical Thinking

Abstract

Language skills are the most important part of language learning at primary schools that need to be taken seriously. If not, then this results in low writing skills of students in expressing ideas in writing. So, students' thinking skills or what so-called Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential to be developed by teachers through learning. This study aims to determine the implementation of the HOTS-based ESCOTING model in writing skills of fables at primary school level. The method used was a pre-experimental research design with a single treatment design (one-shot case study). The sample used in this study was 23 second-grade students of a primary school in Bandung. The results showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes in writing skills. From these results it can be concluded that the implementation of the HOTS-based ESCOTING model can be used as a solution by the teacher to develop students' writing skills, especially in writing fables for the second-grade students.

Abstract

This article seeks to examine the efforts of sufi education and their relation to the field of psychology, especially from a positive developmental perspective. This is because modern psychology tends to study human development, which is negative, while the scope of research in positive human development is worth paying attention to. Although modern psychology recognizes humanity as the central center of life, the fact is that the field is more focused on mental symptoms, rather than exploring the inner potential of humanity. In this regard, Sufis education can serve as an alternative ground, which can be used in modern psychology. This is because Sufis education in the context of psychology has methods that can expand the inner potential of man.

Abstract

Scientific literacy has become a fundamental focus of Education and is related to the ability to criticize scientific discussions. From the beginning we are required to be able to make decisions by individuals and have a sense of responsiveness to public issues related to science but do not rule out access to get it all must be good both in terms of learning in elementary school. Learning is divided into two, namely conventional and problem-based learning based on scaffolding. The result of this article is the need to increase mathematical modeling skills in students with a problem-based learning approach is higher than conventional. So, Problem based learning will certainly have a positive effect to tackle global warming by applying five main challenges and correlating the relationship of the earth's governance system to social science with elementary education input as the spearhead of generational change for the better.

Abstract

The sustainability of this research from Biermann has a focus on collaborating on the earth system governance network based on five research challenges namely architecture, agency, adaptability, allocation, and accountability. Research in order to link the relationship of social science with the earth's governance system. It turns out that the social system is very influential in the earth's governance system, so the need to instill the value of the value of love of nature since elementary education so that the impact of the social system on the earth's governance system in the future can be minimized. The results of this study indicate that social systems consisting of people, governments, and non-government actors must work together to deal with the impact of a dynamic earth governance system. For this reason, elementary education is needed to reduce the negative impact of changes in the earth's governance system through the cultivation of character education that loves the environment while having a sense of responsibility.
