Abstract

The level of a bus service system is affected by several factors, namely the frequency of bus arrival and the rate of passenger arrival time among others. The passenger arrival time is affected by passengers’ knowledge of bus schedule. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pattern of distribution of passengers arrival time at bus shelters located in the corridor Cicaheum-Cibeureum and to determine the suitable probability distribution. The result of analysis showed that passengers arrival time follows Weibull distribution  based on one week data with an average value 1,75 minutes. The analysis also indicated that passengers arrival time on each category of bus headway compatible with Weibull distribution with average value between 1,28 minutes and 3,06 minutes.

Abstract

Two methods for determining asphalt content that's usually used are centrifugal and reflux method. Both of The two methods have the same theoretical principle, but different ways to separate mixtures. Centrifugal method separating a mixture by stirring the solvent and sample mechanically, but the reflux method with evaporation. This study, conducted a study of two methods for bitumen extraction test, bitumen extraction comparing results between the two methods, and compare with bitumen content plans. Three levels of AC-WC (5,5%, 6,0% and 6,5%) are used for bitumen extraction. Results of studies using F-test approaches showed significant differences between bitumen extraction test results (reflux and centrifugal) against the bitumen content plan. Indicated by the value of Fcount > Ftable (38,447 > 3,555). While the results of comparison testing between centrifugal and reflux extraction using T-test indicated that there were differences in the test results, but not significantly. Where indicated tcount < ttable (0,997 < 2,4469).Bitumen extraction test results reflux method most closely with bitumen value plans and standard deviation between the smallest test results. However, testing of bitumen extraction methods reflux testing requires a very long time.

Abstract

Public Private Partnership for railway transportation had been arranged in The Law No. 23/2007. Selection of railway operations to be offered to the private sector through Public Private Partnership scheme takes a set of criteria so that the project could benefit the government and private parties. This implementation had been arranged in The State Ministry for Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency No. 3/2012, the General Guide of Implementation of Government Cooperation with Enterprises in Infrastructure Provision. Of the partnership split up into Palnning of Cooperation Project, Completion of Cooperation Project, Transaction of Cooperation Project and Implementation Management of Cooperation Agreement. This study aims to get the criteria of project selection in railway transportation for each level of the implementation of cooperation between public and private. This research the collecting of data has been conducted by interview. The numbers of respondents who are interviewed are 13 respondents. Statistical analysis determination of group of criteria and sub-criteria to Must Criteria and Want Criteria used Sign Test. The conclusion of the study is Planning of Cooperation Project consists of 2 Must Criteria (4 sub-criteria) and 2 Want Criteria (6 sub-criteria), Completion of Cooperation Project consists of 5 Must Criteria (12 sub-criteria) and 2 Want Criteria (6 sub-criteria), and Transaction of Cooperation Project consists of 5 Want Criteria (13 sub-criteria ) and 3 Want Criteria ( 9 sub-criteria ).

Abstract

Currently walking is still not being a favorite way to transport in our society. Therefore, this research explored the opinions of people about the activity of walking itself. Different from any researches before, this research tried qualitative approach to explore the reasons why people are interested in and not interested in walking. The research was conducted using web-based questionnaire (online survey). After filtered, processed data includes the reasons why people are interested in and not interested in walking. Then this data analyzed using descriptive statistics and Chi-square correlation test using SPSS software. The test results showed that there is no significant correlation was found between gender and the reasons people are interested and not interested in walking.

Abstract

This study discusses about the road crossing facilities in front of the campus FT. Untirta which is located in the Cilegon city and there are facilities such as zebra crossing street is not feasible. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the needs of the road crossing facilities in front of the campus FT. Untirta which aims to find out a viable path crossing facilities and to find out the design of the road crossing facilities. Analyze the needs of the road crossing facilities using the guidance from the Departement of Public Works Directorate Bina Marga 1995 on Procedure for Planning Pedestrian Facilities in Urban Area using the formula PV2 where P is the pedestrian volume (person/hour) and V is the volume of vehicle flow (vehicle/hour) and for designing a road crossing facilities using google sketchup pro 8. The result of research that the volume of vehicular traffic and pedestrian volumes in the PV2 formula have a maximum of PV2 formula at 17.00 to 18.00 with P = 250 person/hour, V = 5639 Vehicle/hour, and then generate PV2 = 6518655805 or 6 x 109 and the result in the table adjusted to the determination of pedestrian crossing facilities according Bina Marga which generate a pelican crossing with a criteria P = 59 – 1100 person/hour, V = 700 vehicle/hour, and PV2 = >2 x 108. Projection result in a period of 5 years generating road crossing  facilities that recommended are crossing the road bridge.

Abstract

People’s mindset regarding to waste needs to be changed: Waste materials are actually a collection of “resources and products”. With this mindset, many innovations of waste utilization will be developed. HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is one type of plastic that is difficult to recycled and is used in large quantities for product packaging and others. This research was conducted to use HDPE plastic waste seeds as aggregate substitute in Asphalt Concrete-Binder Course (AC - BC) hotmix in order to get the solution of waste utilization. The variations of waste plastic seeds used are 0%, 25%, and 50% of the aggregate volume through sieve no. 4 and retained on the sieve No. 8 for every samples. Marshalland durability test were conducted for every variation.The results showed that the seeds could be used as aggregate substitute for fulfilling the specification from Direktorat Jendral Bina Marga.

Abstract

School transportation may be one alternative that can be applied to change the travel behavior of students who are not efficient is the use of vehicles with an occupancy level and a low level of safety as a personal four-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles, as well as improving public transportation services for students who do not have private vehicles. Free school bus services in Jakarta not reach all areas, but with the addition of the fleet doubled in the year 2013 and determination in accordance with the needs of the students, the number of students who use the school bus more and more at an average of 11,000 students per day. Guarantees timeliness arrived at school, access to adequate shelter, comfort, safety and security for the school bus in the results of the study into the effectiveness of the provision of the parameters of the school bus by the Jakarta administration. But still have improved the safety factor for the low parameter concerns the other riders on the existence of the school bus when raising and lowering the passenger at the stop.

Abstract

Rapid economic growth in Lampung needs support from adequate transport facility and development of the infrastructure project is a solution. This research aims to model the travel pattern based on potential economic due to the sunda strait bridge development plan to support KSN Sunda Strait and Economic Corridors in Lampung. Road network modeling formed for assignment stage, being utilized to predict road traffic in the future. Assignmet process using SATURN as transportation software. The scenario  is a road performance analysis after 10 (ten) years using traffic growth and several assumption such as Bakauheni – Babatan – Tegineneng toll road , have functioned and can be used; Sunda Strait Bridge constructed and can be used. The bridge project would help boost the growth of strategic economic area. In order to boost economic development in Sumatera and especially Lampung , the government already has program to build toll roads. Various constraints, such as the preparation of project implementation, land as well as financing, have become barriers that make it difficult for those projects to commence in the planned.

Abstract

Tachometer is an instruments that can measure rotation speed of an object that indirectly indicate the machine rotation’s safety. One of tachometer’s installation is in Trans Jogja’s busses. Writer had done an analysis with primary data collected from speed graph reading as tachometer’s recording result; and secondary data from PT. Denso Sales Indonesia as tachometer DDD-100 distributor. The result of this research shows that the average speed of Trans Jogja busses is 42,86 km/hour in the morning; 36,5 km/hour at noon; 35,2 km/hour in the afternoon and 37,39 km/hour in the evening. Meanwhile, for the violation whereas the driver exceeds maximum vehicle speed inside a city which is 50 km/hour (according to UU No.22 Tahun 2009) is 27,45% in the morning; 12,6% at noon; 13,1% in the afternoon and 17,46% in the evening. The result of this analysis is expected to become an evaluation and can give needed recommendations for policy making to increase Trans Jogja’s level of service.

Abstract

Pasar Jatinegara as one of the shopping center for retailer in Jakarta has a problem with parking lot issue. As a wholesale shopping center, the parking lot is dominated by freight transport. This situation is getting worse due to on-street parking restriction during working days start from 17th June 2013. It caused the capacity of parking decreases. This research is aimed to analyze parking characteristic of freight and goods conveyance at Pasar Jatinegara. The characteristic of off-street parking such as accumulation, volume, duration, turn over, parking index, index of parking activity (IAP), and V/C ratio indicates that the performance of parking service before and after the regulation is still not sufficient. Meanwhile the characteristics of goods conveyance and stores delivery are still bad. There are few solutions proposed in order to improve the performance of off-street parking and goods conveyance.
