Abstract

Yogyakarta have many predicates as a city, and has special characteristics of the transportation. Travel patterns in urban areas in Yogyakarta determined by the urban characteristics population in Yogyakarta city. The spread location of work place or school that located far away from the residence tend to generate the problem to the transportation. Every day,  many movements are done for works and to schools crossing the city center that impact to the urban roads. This research goal is to analyze the factors of land use as one element of the planning that affects the efficiency of transportation. The results of the study and modeling is expected to obtain an efficient urban transportation in case Yogyakarta city. The selected case is the city of Yogyakarta, which represent the medium city. The research methods was household surveys with a questionnaire instrument for the origin-destination trip. From the origin-destination matrix, then modeling using a four-step transport model will done, to obtain the road assignment. The result is decreasing volume significantly in road network caused shorten live place in the city.

Abstract

The effectiveness of traffic conflict has been already proven in preventively improving safety. Therefore, the aimed of this study was to analyze pedestrian safety based on the pedestrian risk level stated by Pedestrian Risk Index (PRI). Case study was conducted on student pedestrians in SMPN 4 Sukoharjo. The recording of pedestrian crossing was made to get the traffic conflict data. Furthermore, the data was analyzed to obtain the value of Pedestrian Risk Index (PRI). The result of the data analysis showed that there were no differences of the value of PRI based on crosing location and time. However, there was difference of the value of PRI based on the kind of crossing, where individual crossing had higher value of PRI than group crossings. It concluded that group crossings had higher level of safety than individual crossings.

Abstract

Merak - Bakauheni is strategic of route for the movement between Java and Sumatraespecially for trips between Banten and Lampung. Data on the number of vehicles using the ferry transport between Banten - Lampung in the years 2000-2011 showed an average growth rate 5.99% per year. The purpose of this study is to build a model of infrastructure choice between toll bridge and ferry between Merak - Bakauheni using 'stated preference' techniques. This study develops model of infrastructure choice with variables of fare, travel time,waiting time, and the frequency of possibility of facility disruption. Study results show that waiting time and travel time have significant influence on the decision to choose infrastructure, while fare and possibility of disruption are found not significant. Study also found that Sunda Strait Bridge are selected by majority of respondent.

Abstract

Queues vehicle in U-turn area occur because of vehicle that does U-turn will take 1 lane in as a result there’s no lanes of vehicle waiting before do U-turn. Moreover, the vehicles that do U-turn will take 2 lanes in from opposite directions as consequence vehicle maneuver against the turning radius in the median. Reduction lanes from 3 to 2 lead to a narrowing of the road due to queue of vehicle waiting before U-turn. From the above, it can be concluded that the delay time in U-turn area caused by queuing vehicle that do U-turn. From time delay issues in U-turn area, we need study / research the influence queues length of vehicles in U-turn area. The purpose of this study was to analyze the road capacity, queues length and travel times of vehicle before and after the change in U-turn area design using VISSIM 6.0.The methodology used in this research is the vehicle volume survey counting, vehicle travel time, U-turn vehicle travel time and the number of vehicle arrival in U-turn area at Jl. Kol. H. Burlian km. 9 Palembang. We analyze the road capacity, long queues of vehicles travel time in the existing condition and new road design plan condition in U-turn area with manual calculation and VISSIM 6.0 programme.From the research, it is found that the road capacity is reduced from 3 lanes (4226 smp/hour) to 2 lanes (2762 smp/hour) and maximum vehicles queue length is 45,89 m. From these result we made the design plan of new road in U-turn area at Jl. Kol. H. Burlian Km. 9 Palembang, with the addition of a special vehicle lane doing U-turn (3,13 m width ; 45 m length) and additional road median for 7 m (from existing condition 2 m to 9 m). Overall planning of road widening in U-turn area is 13,26 m (left width 6,63 m and right wide 6,63 m). In addition, we need to add a road divider marking for vehicle queuing discipline that will do U-turn.From the analysis of the road new design at Jl. Kol. H. Burlian Km. 9 Palembang, we can conclude that a reduction in maximum queue length from 45,89 m (existing condition) to 0,00 m (new road design), besides there is reduction in maximum vehicle travel time from 7,45 second (existing condition) to 2,475 second (new road design).

Abstract

The traveler is always looking for the fastest route to reach the destination point. Similarly, guests of the Jember University come from outside the city, especially from the direction of Surabaya and reverse direction. To find the quickest route to the University of Jember, it takes distance and time information throughout the road leading to the campus of University of Jember. Using Dijkstra's algorithm method, distance and time of data may be processed in order to determine the fastest route to the Campus University of Jember. The results of the survey and analysis shows that the main roads include Jl. HayamWuruk, Jl. Gajah Mada, Jl. Sultan Agung and Jl. PB Sudirman became the fastest route to get to the Campus of the University of Jember.

Abstract

Trans Metro Pekanbaru (TMP) is a public transportation that has been operating since 2009 in Pekanbaru. It has a function to reduce the problems related to public transport and traffic that appear because of the development of the city itself. During the time, the changing of passenger quantity, service quality and operation could happen anytime. Therefore, this research was done to find out the affectivity of TMP corridor II that serves the transportation from Terminal BRPS to Kulim with the load factor as the indicator.

Abstract

The increasing development and maintenance of pavement infrastructure result in increasing demand for materials to be used, including the fillers. The use of fillers in asphalt concrete mixtures is very limited in amount but contributes to considerable effects on the performance of the mixtures. A general problem faced in the production of fillers obtained from stone crushing is that it can only produce a substantially less volume than needed; hence the efforts to find alternative sources for fillers. Bagasse ashes are one of solid residual wastes produced as the byproduct of the process of sugar cane heating. This paper presents the results of laboratory works devoted to evaluating the use of bagasse ashes as fillers in a Superpave mixture. Laboratory tests were carried out in three stages. Firstly, physical property tests were run. Secondly, a series of optimum bitumen content for mixtures with 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of bagasse ashes portion to the total portion of fillers were determined respectively. Lastly, Marshall Characteristics were measured and immersion tests were conducted upon the mixtures. Results showed that, in general, sampled bagasse ashes were suitable as fillers for the Superpave mixture. The greater the percentage of bagasse ashes corrensponds to the lower values of stability, VITM, VMA, and the higher values of flow, VFWA, MQ and Index of Retained Strength. Higher proportion of bagasse ashes requires higher optimum bitumen content.

Abstract

In this time by the 21st century is growing increasing opportunities for non-governmental parties to play a role in the provision of public services and infrastructure management. In the air transport sector, since the year of 2000 all over the world have different frame mapped the non-government involvement in the provision and management of services about the airport. Indonesia has impose a Law No. 1 Year 2009 about Airline, where his message is one of separating contentgovernment and about the airport operator. Having applied for almost 5 years, yet fully aspects of involvement and participation of non-government parties to develop and run. It is an explanation of a more operational nature in the form of guidelines that govern more detail, as the elaboration of the content of the Law No. 1 Year 2009 About Airlines, specifically about the bodies in  airport enterprises.

Abstract

Public transport is extremely important to support the activities of the community. With the disaster in Sidoarjo in Lapindo mud, then it will have an impact on travel patterns and community activity going on. Performance of public transport services in Sidoarjo shows frequency of less well under the average of 6 vehicles/hour, headway/time between above average 10 minutes, under 70% load factor, the average speed is below 30 km/h as well as travel time travel an average of under 60 minutes. Low load factors will result in declining revenue vehicle operator implies welfare decline mainly on a lonely stretch of public transport passengers. Public transport service system should be based on a route in accordance with the Department of transportation on the route permit Sidoarjo. Things happen on the field about 20% of the routes serving the route does not match the permit number, and also some of the fleet does not operate, let alone the routes leading into the area because of declining passenger numbers Porong as a result of disastrous mud Lapindo. In this case the required public transport route network tailored to map the impact and development of Lapindo mud road network already and will be built in the area of Sidoarjo are tailored to the development of the region.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to strive for the development of Inland Waterway Transport Modes is Lake Transportation in the Great Lakes in the province of West Sumatra. From the results of this study, have to be identified that Lake Transport Operations in the Great Lakes region West Sumatra is not optimal or decreases caused by network connectivity growing tissues lan existing highway around the lake. But if referred to the National Development Direction of Lake Transporton, trying ahead of 2020, the National Transportation Lake cultivated as Inland Waterway Transport Modes to support the Tourism Sector. Then the results of the study recommends that Travel Fleet Superintendent has Dead ri, reformed into a fleet that is able to serve Potential Flow Needs Travelers.
