Abstract

Trucks have a significant role in transporting build materials to the infrastructure development needs in the region South of Sulawesi. Thus, the operation of the truck on the urban road network for these activities, has brought the issue concerns the environmental impact of increased traffic accidents, improvement of urban transport congestion, increased emissions and vehicle noise. In the context of understanding the extent of the contribution of trucks to the issue of the problem, it needs to be done in depth study of phenomena related to the composition of the truck traffic on the existing road network, the contribution of emissions and noise caused, contributed to the decline in road traffic performance, and significant role in infrastructure development, and will eventually be able to do an assessment of the risk level operator of the truck on the urban road network. As a preliminary study on this issue, this paper focuses on analyzing the composition of the truck traffic on urban road network with a case study in the city of Makassar. This study has conducted a survey enumeration traffic volume for 13 hours from 07:00 to 22:00 on 36 major roads in the city of Makassar. The survey results were extracted to obtain the composition of truck to volume of traffic. Furthermore analysis totruckcomposition all day performed using statistical analysis approach to look at the composition of the phenomenon is different trucks all day interurban road sections surveyed. The results show that the composition of the truck to the existing traffic volume is small enough:0,38% s/d 8,67%, where the frequency distribution level throughout the day is not the same for all arterial roads in the city of Makassar. The results in this study has provided a preliminary description of the composition of the trucks on the road network in the city of Makassar, and further studies can be used in the risk assessment operation of trucks on city streets will be done in further studies in the future.

Abstract

Tunnel, a subsidiary structure of the street, must have lighting system in accordance with the public street lighting. Many streets in DKI Jakarta don’t have sufficient lighting, and so do tunnels. This research aim is to  know the lighting of two tunnels, located on  Tomang junction and Jl. TB Simatupang, by measuring illuminance and luminance with light meter. Night time illuminance of first tunnel is 32 - 120 lux. Illuminance of second tunnel is 53 - 163 lux. Theses values are far above SNI value which is 20 - 25 lux. Meanwhile the lighting before tunnel entrance and after exit zone are not sufficient (below 8 lux), causing driver’ sight to feel uncomfortable when he enters or exits tunnel (black hole effect). HPS lamps of Tomang tunnel give yellow color impression but TB Simatupang tunnel gives white-yellow color impression because of alternate installation of HPS lamps with some LED lamps on treshold zone. These conditions show that there isn’t good planning in choosing tunnel lamp.

Abstract

In a complex system, such as in the field of transportation safety, the problem is actually present in the basic structure of the system. Therefore, an analysis of the system needed to be able to solve problems in a comprehensive manner, so we need a form of settlement by using a systems approach. A systems approach is not only in regards to theory, but also the way of thinking and practical philosophy in solving a problem. System dynamics model under system approach methodology set completion cohesive steps to be followed systematically by understanding basic cause of every problem under consideration. By providing insight into the feedback process, system dynamics models provide a better understanding of the users of the system to understand the dynamic behavior of a system.

Abstract

The weakness of mode choice model based on trip-based and tour-based is not paying attention to how the characteristics of the activity influence the alternative modes used to conduct such activities. Regarding this, the mode choice model in this study based on the activity schedule and the time allocation. The mode choice model for the three alternatives such as private car, private motorcycle and other modes in this study is developed with the multinomial logit choice model based on the utility time allocation model of activity choice in a day. The selection mode is used to conduct the activity choice at the time after returning home from working activities.The result of the empirical analysis shows that the attributes of individuals, families and activities greatly affect the utility of time allocation of activities such as sports, shopping, meetings, entertainment and socialisation. Alternative modes that have greater attributes of utility activity value, shorter travel time, lower travel costs and joint tour have greater chance to be selected.

Abstract

To develop river transport in Indonesia, traffic flow research is required to analyse fairway capacity and level of service, and also transportation safety. Due to vessel traffic is insignificant, the research should be undertake using simulation model. To construct the simulation model, the vessel’s interaction rules in the system are required. Car following model may be applied to regulate the vessels’ interaction by perform some adjustments to characteristics of river, vessels, and driver. This research aims to select car following model and determine rezime to formulate the realistic driver behavior in the system, without discuss the river velocity effect to car following model.

Abstract

Bandung strategic position causes an interdependences of its surrounding the cities, including Cileunyi District which triggers suburbanization and comuting activity. Vast movement from the commuters needs to be comprised without enlarging supply by transportation demand management (TDM) scheme. TDM concept proposed in this study is a park and ride scheme using the shuttle bus modes. In this paper, we examine both demand and supply carrying capacity through a descriptive exploratory method. Carrying capacity identified by the willingness of potential users to pay for the facilities. The willingness of users to pay parking fees is about Rp. 5,001 - 10.000, while the willingness to pay the bus fare is in the range of Rp. 3,000 to 5,000 . Carrying capacity from the supply side is the availability of parking, terminal, and sufficient road network to carried four route of shuttle bus.

Abstract

Buton Ganular buton asphalt is refined grains that has been produced mechanically so has quality and guaranteed quality compared with previous generationsasbuton. BGA uniformity of grain size and water content of not more than 2% make it superior to the previously produced asbuton.This paper discusses the use of BGA as an asphalt substitute petroleum in the bearing coarse mix asphalt concrete (AC BC). Topics studied in the asphalt mixture is marshall stability, flow and voids in mix (VIM). The use of BGA on asphalt mixture gives a positive influence so that used on roads with heavy traffic and intersections.

Abstract

Train is an efficient public transportation that need to be developed. Currently, the development of railway infrastructures is already showing some improvements. One of them is the completion of Jakarta-Surabaya double track. With the construction of the double track, the railway capacity increased. However, research on the railway capacity in Indonesia is still limited. There was still inefficiency in using the railway capacity by the operator. This research aims to investigate the factors that affect the capacity and the relationship between railway capacities and train accidents. The data required were obtained from PT Kereta Api (Persero) and  the Ministry of Transportation and from site visits. The data were then abstracted and analysed. It was found that there was a decrease in the number of accidents in 2010 - 2014, with a variety of causes such as: infrastructure, facilities, human and external factors. The construction of a doubl-track railway had contributed to the decline of the accidents. This is due to the construction of a double track increased the railway capacity. It resulted in the loss of intersection or crossing points. Those crossing points were the critical points of the accidents. The declining of forwarding of train travel increased speed and travel time. The increase of capacity and safety  finally improved the train services for both passengers and goods.

Abstract

The study about the arrangement of transportation in Bali especially arrangement of public transportation has been implemented since year 1990, even though most of it still not well implemented. If short-term financial factor become the main consideration, then mass transportation system in Bali will never be built. Mass transportation system need to be done by considering the economic benefit wholly so that public transportation could perform well, such as government subsidies. The purpose of this study is to analyze the financial feasibility of Sarbagita bus Corridor VI that is planned to serve route: Mengwi terminal – Puspem Badung – Ubung terminal – City, Round-Trip with 30 fleets and 24 stops. Data used in this study is secondary data with estimation of 1,620 passengers per day with government rate Rp. 3,500. The outcome from this study shows that Trans Sarbagita bus corridor VI is not feasible, Vehicle Operating Costs (BOK) per year is Rp. 927,308,322,- for one unit and Rp. 24,190,651,895 per year for the entire fleet. So it need government subsidies in the amount of Rp. 35,894,340 per day.

Abstract

Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) is study on the impact of development on the surrounding transportation network. Complex Ruko Berjaya is a commercial and residential complex that will be built on the city of Batam.This area has been done but the traffic impact analysis using the manual calculation method MKJI . For traffic impact analysis was performed on the complex of the RukoBerjaayaBatam use PTV Vistro . Analysis on PTV Vistro will be compared with MKJI method that performed on the input volume adjustment. There are differences in the determination of the saturation flow and the capacity of the two methods, which produce the PTV Vistro capacity greater than MKJI. Output performance PTV Vistro  results show a lower value than the calculation MKJI.
