Abstract

Porous concrete which became one of the solutions in pavement construction and is a product that can be said to be successful in meeting the expectations as environmentally friendly construction. Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic polymer group, is formed by applying heat. This type of plastic is used widely in the chemical industry today. Plastic has many advantages, namely thermal resistance compared with other types of plastic, resistant to impact, and very clear. Research "Design of Porous Slab Concrete with Polycarbonate" as a solution in the construction of permeable pavement or impervious to the reservoir and is a product that can be expected as environmentally friendly construction. Examples of permeable pavement is existing streets in residential areas, sidewalks, parking lots, and park area. In this study will be made slab with thickness of 5 cm, width 40 cm length 40 cm of porous concrete which is used in making sheets of polycarbonate  pores and porous concrete slab is expected to have a compressive strength and flexural high enough and friendly environment. As an outcome of this study is expected porous slab is used for road pavement, parking lot, residential or rural road vehicle load is not heavy intensity. The results of the study with a polycarbonate porous concrete slab can be summarized as follows: Plates are ideal for porous plate is polycarbonate plate with a distance of 8 cm, which is similar to the strong bending without polycarbonate slab and permeability is also good.

Abstract

Travel time variation indicates the reliability of bus operating systems and affects passenger satisfaction. This study aims to calculate and compare travel time variability of Trans Metro Bandung Bus Corridor II Route Cicaheum-Cibeureum among days. The analysis shows that the system has travel time variability range from 0,0007% up to 15,5%. This is caused by route changes and the effects of congestion. The comparison of travel time variability among days shows that the value of travel time is more stable in weekend than weekday.

Abstract

Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) is a Flexible Pavement which has been frequently used as it can be got in with ease. Never the less, the increasing number of passing, vehicles results in premature damage due to overloading. A long term objective of this research is to decrease the premature damage by adding some latex to the pavement mixture of aggregate and asphalt. While its specific objective is to add some latex to HMA pavement mixture to detect the effect of fatigue which can be seen through permanent deformation and rutting.  Having added some latex, it can be detected how serious the damage of the pavement will be. Experimental method was employed by using Bina Marga standardized aggregate, 4,5% - 6% latex addition to petroleum asphalt penetration 60/70 had to go thorugh Beam Apparatus Pavement Test. While Wheel Tracking Machine (WTM) was applied to test, rutting. The analyses of 4,5%- 6% latex addition to Maximum Asphalt Content  result in 2,43 mm and 2,66mm deformation It is suggested to carry  out a research into the effect of 7% and 8%latex addition to Maximum Asphalt Content.

Abstract

Today motorization happens quite fast even faster in many cities in the world. The number of motor vehicles in the world is expected to reach about 1.3 billion by 2020, more than double the current number. In the case of Indonesia, in the past three decades, motorization and urbanization has become a trend in many cities - metropolitan city. Unlike developed countries, most developing countries do not have a mass transit system that adequate to suppress the increase in motorization in urban areas. This research try mapping issues and challenges of public transport plan, implementation and operation in developing countries by literature study’s methodology. Finding of this study, at least, there are 5 (five) issues in the relation with public transport in developing countries i.e. sustainability impact issues, multi-faceted actor in the public transport implementation (organization and institutional issues), need of  public transport appraisal in strategic level issues, funding (budget constraint) issues, and competition and regulation issues. Then, there are some challenges of public transport implementation such as problem of political organization, problem of integrated transport planning, continuing need to develop appropriate   pricing and charging devices and financing instruments, the matter of   industrial structure, the issue of  competitive system design, the perceived problem of affordability and problem of strategic choice, particularly in urban areas.

Abstract

In conventional travel time studies, the time spent travelling was considered as a wasted time because people the objective of travelling is to arrive and conduct intentional activities at the destination. However, the widespread ownership of personal information and communication technology devices in recent decade has been giving opportunity for travellers to carried out a more productive and enjoyable activities on-board. Researchers found that the use of travel time influences the perception and value of travel time of travellers. This paper presents the findings of a study on how travellers spent their time on-board of public transport in Indonesia. The method used in data collection was focus group discussion.

Abstract

Minangkabau International Airport (MIA) has been operating for nearly a decade. MIA can be visited by using Airport Bus (APB) services provided by the local government. However, it seems the visitors of MIA tend to choose the private travel modes such as passenger cars and motorcycles rather than the APB. Due to the energy crisis as well as other negative impacts of road traffic, MIA visitors are expected to shift from using private travel modes to more sustainable and greener transport modes like APB. However, this policy must be supported by sufficient information and hence the expected outcome could be achieved. This research is aimed at investigating the issues that “preventing” MIA visitors in choosing the existing APB service as well as estimating its potential demand. The result suggests that only 19% of the MIA visitors choose the APB as the travel mode. The visitors tend to use other travel modes due to uncertainty in the APB operation represented by unclear time tables and bus stop locations. In addition, a number of respondents were found did not know the APB service. It is estimated the demand could reach 58% of the total visitor if the aforementioned issues could be properly addressed.

Abstract

A parking lot is a public facility and supporter for planning of a shopping center. Roxy Square is one of the shopping center in Jember and still managing a parking lot facility. The parking lot facility must be planned with the exact calculation, management, and circulation system in order to prevent a lack of parking zone, a queue and a traffic jam.  This research plan a need of the parking lot for vehicle based on SRP and the difference between the destination and the departure of the vehicles. The result of the analysis is obtained a need of the parking lot on the workday is only 35% from weekend. Therefore, a strategy of parking system needed. The area has three parking zones so that an open closed zone system and managemet of an efficiency parking lot for a daily parking need is done.

Abstract

General use asphalt mixture in Indonesia is Asphalt Pen 60/70 and rarely utilized Buton Natural Asphalt Blend 75:25. In Indonesia, natural zeolite cannot be utilized optimally as pavement and lower prices of stone dust. The purpose of this study was to determine, looking for the best mixture using zeolite. Testing was conducted by Marshall Method. In this study, variation of natural zeolite in the mixture used 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Marshall test results (stability) mixtures using zeolite has a value above which use a mixture of stone dust. The ability to resist deformation in the mix by using natural zeolite has a better value than a mixture of stone dust. Based on the test can be concluded that the natural zeolite can be used as a substitute for the stone dust filler in the mix pavement Asphalt Concrete (AC), with the percentage of natural zeolite optimally between 25% at Pen bitumen 60/70 and 50% at BNA Blend 75:25. Asphalt Concrete (AC) mixture by using natural zeolite has a value of weight-bearing (stability), durability, and flexibility is better than mix with stone dust.

Abstract

Ordinance Number 22 Year 2009 stated that fatality data must be completed with hospitals’ data. However, the data reported by Republic of Indonesia Police has not been in accordance to the law. In many countries, researchers have been using population and motor vehicles numbers as variables to predict fatality victims’ number. Those variables are not fit with Indonesian condition. The main purpose of the study was to develop better fatality prediction model in line with Indonesian condition. This was done by developing multivariable ANN models. The model was built by using population data taken from 26 cities/ in West Java Province. Main results from model validation test are: (1) three variables ANNwith two hidden layer prediction model was the best prediction used for to predict fatality numbers; (2) Fatality number was 90.93% bigger than that fatality data reported by Police RI, that was, 2026 people; ANN3-2HL prediction model was unfit to be used in Indonesia.
