Abstract

Abstract. The aim of this study is to perform quantitative risk assessment oforganizational transformation at PT X and develop its risk mitigation. The design ofthis study based on business risk analysis model by Fekete (2000), which are consist 4steps: (1) risk identification; (2) qualitative analysis; (3) quantitative analysis; and (4)risk response. The result of study showed there are significance risks of organizationaltransformation at PT X with the biggest risk level in consecutive order are systemreadiness factor, organization factor, and culture factor.Keywords: organizational change, risk management, quantitative risk assessment,delphi technique, monte-carlo simulationAbstrak. Tujuan studi ini adalah menilai secara kuantitatif kinerja transformasiorganisasi pada PT X dan membangun mitigasi risikonya. Studi ini didesainberdasarkan model analisis risiko binis yang dikembangkan oleh Fekete (2000), yangterdiri dari empat tahap: (1) identifikasi risiko; (2) analisis kualitatif; (3) analisiskuantitatif; dan (4) respon risiko. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan transformasi organisasipada PT X signifikan berisiko dengan level risiko terbesar secara berurutan adalahfaktor kesiapan sistem, faktor organisasi dan faktor budaya.Kata kunci: perubahan organisasi, manajemen risiko, penilaian risiko kuantitatif, teknidelphi, simulasi monte-carlo

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to test and analyze the influence oftransformational leadership style and work motivation on employees performance (study on PT.FSG). The sample used in this research consists of 86 respondents from 109 population. The method of sampling used is by simple random sampling, method dataanalysis used are multiple linear regression analysis.The result of the reseacrh using t test that transformational leadership style and workmotivation have positive significant influence to employees performance.Theresult of the research simultantly using F test, shows that all of the independentvariables influence significant to employees performance.Keywords: leadership style, work motivation, employees performance

Abstract

The general objective of this research is formulating a model of emotional exhaustion, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of lecturers in private higher education institutions in Medan. The research was conducted at the Islamic University of Sumatera Utara, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Panca Budi University, Dharmawangsa University, Al-Azhar University, Muslim Nusantara University, Al Washliyah University, Prima Indonesia University, HKBP Nommensen University, Potensi Utama University, and Sari Mutiara University. This research is causality research with all permanent lecturers of private higher education institutions in Medan as a population. Data collection was using interviews and questionnaires. Structural Equation Model is the data analysis used in this research. The results showed that leadership has an effect on emotional exhaustion and organizational commitment of lecturers. Then, self-efficacy and emotional exhaustion respectively affect job satisfaction and organizational commitment of lecturers while job satisfaction only affects the organizational commitment of lecturers in private higher education institutions in Medan

Abstract. This research aims at exploring organizational culture in life insurancecompany in Indonesia, i.e. Prudential Indonesia and JIWASRAYA and its contributionto financial performance, This study used a qualitative approach with case studyresearch, using exploratory and descriptive research design supported by successiveapproximation of technical data analysis. The research found six proposition asfollows: 1) Consistent and appropriate strategy with the system and business orientationwill determine the success of the corporate,, 2) Planning of Human Resourcesintegrated with corporate plan will improve the affectivity of Human Resourcesmanagement, 3) Organization structure and system in accordance with internal andexternal environment will support development of business, 4) Working process ofcustomer satisfaction and result-oriented is needed to support development of corporatebusiness, 5) Organization culture implemented in the course of action has strategic roleto improve corporate performance, and 6) Consistent socialization and application ofcorporate culture will give contribution on financial performance.Keywords: life insurance company, organizational culture, qualitative, case study andsuccessive approximation

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose ofthis study was to determine the effect of commitment and achievement motivation on teacher performance. Descriptive quantitative research method using correlation and multiple regression statistics with the aim of analyzing the influence of two independent variables on the performance of teachers. The sampleused was the entire population of teachers as respondents. The results showed that the commitment and achievement motivation affect the performance of teachers. From the results of analysis, the influence ofthe two variables is quite strong .The result also evidenced from the F test and t-test, which states that both partially and simultaneously effect very significant on the performance of teachers. The results ofthis study, whencompared with previous research, the study supports previous research conducted. Where the teacher's performance is affected by factors of commitment and achievementmotivation.Keywords: Commitment, Achievement Motivation, Teacher Performance

Abstract

Behavior in determining investment is influenced by factors from the fundamental side or individual psychology. This study aims to determine how psychological factors influence investor behavior in determining future investments. This research is a field experimental study using questionnaire data. The variables used in investment decision making include loss aversion, regret aversion and illusion of control bias with 15 total indicators. The sample is an investor in the real asset field and the data is processed using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) with the AMOS program. The results showed that psychological factors both loss aversion and illusion of control bias had a significant effect on investment decisions in a positive direction. While regret aversion has a significant effect with negative direction with investment decisions. Novelty in this study, that psychological factors in behavior finance not only affect securities investors but also real asset investors.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to examine the extent to which game-selfcongruity, brand-self congruity and brand-game congruity simultaneously affect gameplayer‟s attitude towards the advertised brand in advergame. This research extends theextant literature that asserts that the player‟s attitude towards brand is not onlyinfluenced by perceived congruity between brand and game, but it is also affected bythe player‟s self-concept and how he/she identifies him/herself to the game and thebrand. The results showed that brand-game congruity has significant effect on player‟sattitude towards the brand and perceived entertainment was found to mediate the effectof game-self congruity on player‟s attitude. Findings of this research can helpmarketers to better design and promote marketing approaches to consumers by takinggame-self and brand-self congruities into account.Keywords: Advergame, game-self congruity, brand-game congruity, brand-selfcongruity

Abstract

Abstract: One of information about financial performance is the earning. The earningcan show the positive signal about the prospect of a company in the future. Theearning can increase or decrease for every year or every period. The aim of thisresearch is to analyze the influence of financial ratio to earning changes in companiesof telecommunication sector in Bursa Efek Indonesia. Population in this research werecompanies which listed on the BEI in the period 2010-2011, totally 6 companies andsamples are 4 companies. There are 5 independent variables, those are Current Ratio(CR) as liquidity ratio, Debt Ratio (DR) as solvability ratio, Total Asset Turn Over(TATO) as activity ratio, Return on Equity (ROE) as profitability ratio and PriceEarning Ratio (PER) as market ratio.The results of this research indicate that CR, DR,TATO, ROE and PER influence simultaneously to earning changes. Based on model-2, partially CR has a positive significant influence, TATO has a negative significantinfluence, ROE has a positive significant influence, and PER has a negative significantinfluence. DR has no the significant influence to earning changes. Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the marketing performance of seaweed in Takalar District, South Sulawesi and to analyze the value added obtained from seaweed processing into pure carrageenan powder (semi refined carrageenan). The respondents in this study were 100 fishermen, 37  merchants, 3 wholesalers, 2 exporters, and 1 processing industry. Seaweed marketing performance was measured by marketing efficiency with criteria of marketing margin, farmer’s share and profit margin ratio, whereas value added was analyzed using Hayami’s method. Results showed that there were 5 seaweed marketing channels. Based on the analysis of marketing efficiency, it was found that channel 4 was a relatively efficient channel compared to other channels with the lowest margin value and the highest farmer’s share value of 28.95% and 71.05%, respectively, and the distribution of profit margin ratio spread evenly with the total profit margin ratio of 5.23. The value added of seaweed processing into carrageenan powder was Rp 13 979.16 /kg with a ratio of 44% and was classified as a high value added due to its value which was more than 40%

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to estimate the determinant factors of the profitabilityon Indonesian banking industry. Factors used are bank's internal factors and external factors.Internal factors include the variables inherent in the bank, while external factors includeindustry-specific variables and macroeconomic variables. The data used is the entire bankingin the period 2004-2011. The analytical method used is panel data regression model withpooled least squares method, the fixed effect method and random effect method. The resultsshowed that determinant factors of banking profitability in Indonesian can be explained byfixed effect model, and variable capital, loans, bank size, market structure, and inflationaffect the profitability of banks in Indonesia, but the growth of per capita income has noeffect.Keywords: Profitability, banking, Indonesia, panel regressionAbstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengestimasi faktor penentu profitabilitas diindustri perbankan di Indonesia. Faktor Faktor yang digunakan adalah faktor internal daneksternal Bank. Faktor internal meliputi variabel yang melekat di bank, sedangkan variabelfaktor eksternal meliputi variabel makroekonomi dan spesifik industri. Data tersebutdigunakan untuk seluruh perbankan pada periode 2004-2011. Metode analisis yangdigunakan adalah model regresi data panel dengan metode pooled kuadrat terkecil, metodeefek tetap, dan metode efek random. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa faktor penentuprofitabilitas perbankan di Indonesia yang dapat dijelaskan oleh model fixed effect, danvariabel yang memengaruhi profitabilitas adalah permodalan, pinjaman, ukuran bank,struktur pasar, dan inflasi, namun pertumbuhan pendapatan per kapita tidak memilikipengaruh.Kata Kunci: Profitabilitas, perbankan, Indonesia, regresi panel
