Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital government has reshaped organizational structures, decision-making processes, and leadership dynamics. This study explores the impact of transformational leadership on organizational performance in the digital government era using a qualitative research approach. Through in-depth interviews with government officials, policy analysts, and digital transformation experts, this research examines how transformational leadership traits such as vision, motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration enhance performance, innovation, and adaptability in public institutions. Findings indicate that transformational leaders play a crucial role in fostering a culture of digital innovation, encouraging employee engagement, and driving effective change management. Leaders who exhibit proactive strategies and inspire a shared vision significantly contribute to improved public service delivery, cross-sector collaboration, and institutional resilience in navigating digital transformation challenges. Additionally, this study highlights the barriers to leadership effectiveness, including bureaucratic inertia, resistance to change, and skill gaps in digital competencies. The analysis underscores the importance of continuous leadership development programs and a supportive digital infrastructure to maximize the benefits of transformational leadership in the public sector. This study contributes to the discourse on public administration modernization by providing insights into leadership strategies that enhance government efficiency, agility, and citizen-centric service delivery. Future research should explore quantitative models to measure the correlation between transformational leadership and key performance indicators in digital governance.

Abstract

Objectives: This study looks at how consumer innovativeness affects e-trust and e-loyalty in the e-commerce setting in Aceh, Indonesia. It also examines whether e-trust plays a role in connecting consumer innovativeness with e-loyalty.Methodology: The research uses a quantitative approach and applies the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method to test the hypotheses. Data was gathered from 200 e-commerce users in Banda Aceh and Lhokseumawe through non-probability incidental sampling. The analysis was done using SmartPLS software to look at both direct and indirect links between the key variables.Findings: The findings reveal that consumer innovativeness exerts a positive influence on both e-trust and e-loyalty. Furthermore, e-trust significantly enhances consumer loyalty and acts as a mediating variable between innovativeness and loyalty. These results suggest that higher levels of innovativeness foster greater consumer confidence in e-commerce platforms, which, when supported by reliability and ethical practices, contribute to sustained customer engagement and loyalty. Conclusion: Consumer innovativeness and e-trust emerge as critical drivers of e-loyalty in Aceh’s e-commerce environment. Innovation fosters trust, and trust, in turn, builds long-term loyalty. The study highlights that innovation strategies should be both technologically progressive and culturally aligned with local values such as honesty, reliability, and ethical conduct to ensure sustainable consumer relationships.

Abstract

Objectives: This research endeavors to explore the ethical ramifications when artificial intelligence is utilized in predictive marketing, especially regarding potential pitfalls like algorithmic bias, infringements on privacy, the deliberate manipulation of consumer actions, and the aggregation of market power, which may undermine fair business competition.Methodology: A qualitative methodology was adopted for this study, involving In-Depth Interviews (IDIs) with a total of eight informants. The participants, who were data analysts and digital marketers representing various industry sectors, were recruited using both purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data gathering spanned a six-week period and was subjected to thematic analysis to identify the prominent themes and issues.Finding: Five main themes were found in this study: (1) the importance of fairness and non-discrimination in algorithms, (2) transparency in data governance, (3) protection of consumer privacy, (4) risk of behavioral manipulation, and (5) ethical implications of market share concentration by AI-based companies. Conclusion: While AI can improve marketing efficiency, its use also risks creating social injustice and lowering consumer trust. Therefore, continuous data audits, transparent algorithm development, and strong consumer protection regulations are needed to ensure fair, ethical, and sustainable application of AI.

Abstract

Objectives: Investor and regulator attention to sustainability practices has made Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance increasingly crucial for companies. This study examines the effect of ESG performance on financial performance with innovation as a mediator and external assurance as a moderator.Methodology: The study was conducted on 58 publicly listed Indonesian companies during the 2023–2024 period that have ESG Risk Rating scores from Morningstar Sustainalytics and have reported research and development expenses in their operations. SEM-PLS aims to analyze the developed model.Finding: The results show that (1) good ESG performance (indicated by a lower ESG Risk Rating) has a significant positive effect on ROE, indicating that better ESG performance is associated with higher financial performance; (2) innovation acts as a mediator, where sustainability practices encourage innovative activities that positively impact financial performance; and (3) external assurance strengthens the relationship between ESG and financial performance through enhanced reporting credibility and reduced information asymmetry..Conclusion: These findings affirm that ESG is not merely about compliance but a strategy to drive innovation and increase profits. The managerial implications include reducing ESG risk through measurable sustainability initiatives, strengthening investment in green research and development, and obtaining independent external assurance to enhance reporting credibility and increase investment opportunities.
