Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of learning with problem based learning (PBL) in influencing the character of hard work and student discipline through the material classification of living things. The method used in this study was class VII a number of 25 students in the Nusa Bhakti Junior High School in Depok City as objects in the natural science subject matter classification of living things. Data collection techniques using learning methods and questionnaires / questionnaires. The instrument test uses descriptive analysis, linearity test, homogeneity test and t-paired t-test. The results showed that the value of sig. (2-tailed) is 0.015 <0.05 (α = 5%) that there are differences in students' hard work before and after the use of PBL and sig. (2-tailed) 0.002 <0.05 (α = 5%) ie there are differences in student discipline before and after the use of PBL. Learning with problem based learning (PBL) can improve the character of students' hard work and discipline.

Abstract

Covid-19 is an epidemic originating from Wuhan, China that spread rapidly throughout the world. Covid-19 spread in Indonesia in early March 2020. The spread of this virus caused losses to many countries in various fields ranging from the economy, tourism, to education. In the field of education, the impact of Covid-19 was forced to make the government change the learning system drastically; all learning activities are carried out online starting from elementary school to college. The purpose of this study is was to describe the impact of online learning policies on the learning motivation of high school students and their equivalents during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection uses a research questionnaire through a Google form that is distributed to high school students and their equivalents in East Java. Based on the results of the study, respondents revealed more negative impacts than positive impacts. From the results of this research the government is expected to be more mature in determining policies even though it is an emergency policy.

Abstract

This Best Practice is the best experience in learning to increase awareness about constituting and improving learning outcomes through the Broken Square Triangle, Square, and Heart model in Class VIII E of SMP Negeri 2 Wonosari Gunungkidul in the Even Semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The results of the teacher's observations during PBM, students like to littering, wearing colorful shoes, long hair, unidentified uniform at SMPN 2 Wonosari, less respect for teachers in class, not concentrating on teaching and learning activities, sleeping in class. After studying with the Broken Triangle, Square and Heart models, there is a change in constitutional awareness, as evidenced by the research data. At the first meeting with the lecture method, the violation was 18.89%. When KBM uses the Broken Triangle, Square and Heart model, in the second meeting there is a violation of 2.59% and the third meeting there is a violation of 1.48%. This has proven to be an increase in constitutional awareness. From the learning outcomes, the lecture method shows an average result of 59.47, with the Broken Triangle, Square and Heart model, an average of 66.0 and 86.13. Thus, it shows that the Broken Triangle, Square and Heart models are more effectively used in PPKn learning.

Abstract

Preserving culture is an important aspect of the life of indigenous peoples because it is identical to a lifestyle that is still guided by local customs. The process of cultural preservation in indigenous peoples cannot be separated from the important role of the community as an academic locus and Du'a Mo'an Watu Pitu as the responsible one. Based on this reality, this study aims to determine the leadership model of a democratic school principal based on local wisdom and examine the role of du'a moan watu pitu in maintaining the Kula babong culture (democracy) in the Sikka Krowe community. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. The subjects in this study were 4 principals of private and public schools, four Sikka krowe traditional leaders who inhabit each region, and culturalists in the Krowe Ethnic community, Sikka krowe Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the school principal's leadership model was based on the values of Sikka Krowe's local wisdom: the value of honesty, the value of courage, the value of kula babong, and charisma. Du'a Mo'an Watu Pitu's role in preserving the Kula Babong culture (democracy) is to maintain the integrity of traditional institutions, perform traditional rituals, resolve social conflicts and uphold justice.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the web-based Flipped Classroom model in terms of understanding the mathematical concepts of PGSD students. This type of research is a quasi-experimental quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest. This research was conducted on 2nd-semester PGSD students taking Mathematics Education courses. The population of this study was all 2nd-semester PGSD students and the sample of this study was taken randomly as many as 32 students. This research instrument uses a test for understanding mathematical concepts on geometry material with a total of 10 multiple-choice questions. The data analysis techniques in this study are the normality test as a prerequisite test, the Wilcoxon test to determine the difference between the average pretest and posttest, and the effect size test (Cohen's d) to conclude that the web-based flipped classroom model is effective or not on understanding mathematical concepts. The results of this study indicate that the normality test on the pretest data obtained data with a normal distribution, but on the posttest data the data was not normally distributed, so the Wilcoxon nonparametric test was used. Wilcoxon test results show the results of sig. <0.005, which means that there is a significant average difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. Then from the results of the Effect Size test, the results of 1.55 are included in the very large category.
