Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the potential production of Arbila (Phaseolus lunatus L.) seed at different level of rizobium inoculants. This research has been conducted in Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic during 4 months. The research was using randomized block design (RBD) having 5 treatments and 4 replications (20 units). The treatments were I1:  without inoculant, I2 :  10 g rizobium inoculant /kg seed, I3 : 20 g rizobium inoculant /kg seed, I4 : 30 g rizobium inoculant /kg seed, dan I5 : 40 g rizobium inoculant /kg seed. The observed variables were fresh seed production (ton/ha), dry weight seed production (ton/ha), weight of 100 seeds (g), and dry matter seed production (ton/ha). Data were analysed using variance analysis and continued with Duncan test. The result showed that the performance of Arbila seed were influenced by inoculant level. Increasing in inoculant level caused increasing in production of arbila seed. The higher seed production was the seed having 40 g rizobium inoculant /kg. The production were 3.62 tons of fresh seed/ha,  3.41 tons of dry seed/ha, 33.83 g per 100 seeds, 3.25 tons of DM /ha. This production was actually not different with seed having 30 g rizobium inoculant /kg seed.  The production were 2.57 tons of fresh seed/ha, 2.53 tons of dry seed/ha, 32.18 g per 100 seeds, and 2.42 tons of DM /ha. In conclusion, treatments with 40 g or 30 g of rizobium inoculant per kg seed were the best level for Arbila plant to produce higher seed. Key Words : Legume Arbila (Phaseolus lunatus L), Rizobium Inoculant, seed production, feed plant.

Abstract

This study was carried out from July to September 2005, to obtain the description or data base on local pig farming at Alak Subdistrict, Kupang City. The method of the research used direct interview to 30 respondents and direct field observation. The results showed that the breeder characteristic at Alak Subdistrict, in the case of prime work, the breeders were enterpreneur; their conservancy experience was 6-10 year; numbers of family member in concerned were 4 people, average of age was 47,7 years old; education level was 66,6% under SLTP; pig ownership was 3 tail; purpose of pig conservancy was used as saving 96,7%, and conservancy systems were extensive 36,7%, flourishing intensive 16,7%, and intensive 46,7%. Therefore, conducting the demplot of pig conservancy, local feed, cage pattern, intensive counseling and use of technology by participative approach.Keyword: Breeder Characteristic, conservancy management, Local Pig, Kota Kupang

Abstract

Analysis of Marketing Margin of Pecan in Kabola District of Alor Regency This study aimed to analyze the marketing channel of candlenut, the magnitude of the marketing margin of candlenut and the distribution of marketing margins of candlenut in the District of KabolaAlor Regency The method used in this study was primary and secondary data. Primary data is obtained through interviews with informants who know the development of candlenuts (qualitative). While secondary data is obtained from several agencies that are used to determine the development of candlenuts. Analyzing the factors that influence marketing margins carried out by direct observation, interviews with data collection of primary data and secondary data, informal as many as 56 people quantitatively From the results of the study it is known that in the first marketing channel the average marketing margin is the price difference at the consumer level and farmers are Rp.5,020.24/kg. The average price at the retailer level is Rp.21,186.90/kg and the average price of the farmer level is (Rp. 16,166.67/kg).It can be seen that the marketing margin ranges from Rp.4,500/kg to Rp.5,150/kg with the price range at the retailer level is Rp.16,100/kg up to Rp.24,000/kg and the price range at the farmer level is Rp.11,000/kg up to Rp.19,000/kg. There are variations in prices in every marketing agencybecause each marketing agency spends different marketing costs so the price is different. In the marketing process both the average marketing margin at the consumer level and the farmer level is Rp.4,321.43/kg. This margin is the average difference in the selling price of retailers as much asRp.22,607.14/kg and the average level of farmers is Rp.18,285.71/kg.

Abstract

Composite Flour Characteristics At Suplementasi Sea Grass Upon Which Standard Kuliner Product. The experiment was conducted at Food Technology Laboratory Politani Negeri Kupang lasted on April  to November 2008. The objectiveresearch  to  produced good  quality  composite flours  to    prepare  data  base  for produce excellent quality culinary product. The experiment used RCBD and 3 replications. The treatments were six  flour formulas base on wheat and indigenous flour  (K1 up to K6 added by  indigenous flours 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75% and 90% respectively). The indigenous flours were combination from waxy corn, sorghum,sweet potatoes, and seaweed. The variables observed were water absorption, gelatination, liquid viscosity, pulp  thickness,   expansion of  dough. Data    were analised using Anova and DMRT.The gelatination temperature and water absorption were increased at composite flours with  high indigenous flour contents. Viscocity and the dough expansion of composite flour decreased with high indigenous  flour contents. The pulp thickness of composite flours as same as character with liquid viscosity.Keywords: composite flours, supplementation, seaweed, culinar

Abstract

Revolusi dalam bidang rekayasa genomik terjadi sejak dikembangkannya sistem CRISPR-Cas9 yang diperoleh dari mekanisme pertahanan bakteri. Proses ini melibatkan pengikatan fragmen RNA penuntun (gRNA) yang spesifik pada DNA target yang akan menginisiasi aktivitas katalik enzim endonuklease (Cas9) pada bagian DNA tersebut. Induksi perubahan ini akan menggerakkan sistem reparasi seluler yang menghasilkan struktur genetik baru dengan karakteristik fenotipik yang diinginkan. Karena kepraktisan, fleksibiltas dan keakuratannya, teknologi ini semakin terintegrasi dalam berbagai bidang ilmu penelitian, terutama Agrikultur. Meskipun penerapan aplikasinya masih bersifat eksperimental di dalam laboratorium, hasilnya telah menunjukkan prospek yang menjanjikan di masa mendatang. Namun, banyak aspek yang masih perlu dipertimbangkan sebelum berbagai produk hasil teknologi ini di-komersilkan di pasaran. Dalam review ini, ulasan mengenai CRIPSR-Cas9 akan menjadi fokus perhatian disertai contoh penerapan mutakhirnya dalam budidaya tanaman pangan, produksi ternak dan kesehatan hewan. Kemungkinan efek negatif baik bagi manusia dan juga lingkungan dalam jangka panjang juga akan menjadi bagian dari pembahasan.Kata kunci: CRISPR-Cas9, Rekayasa Genomik, Agrikultur.

Abstract

Good organic fertilizer is fertilizer that can be used to improve physical, chemical and biological soil properties, and is certified based on laboratory tests and meets fertilizer quality standards. Liquid organic fertilizer Bio-Inoculum Plus is an alternative fertilizer as a result of innovation technology that meets the quality standards of liquid organic fertilizer with a dual function as fertilizer, growth regulators as well as biopesticides. Because it contains complete nutrients (such as organic C, N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, B, Co and Mo); ZPT (such as Auxin (IAA), GA3, Cytokinins (Kinetin and Zeatin)) and also contain Azospirilium sp. Microbes, Pospate Solvent Bacteria (Bacillus sp and Pseudomonas sp), Actinomycetes sp, Trichoderma sp and Beauveria bassiana. The results obtained from the application of liquid organic fertilizer Bio-Inoculum on the propagation of fruit plants using cuttings to sprout shoots and roots take between 7-18 days. To accelerate plant growth, accelerate flowering and fruiting on plants that are difficult to grow flowers and fruit. Abstract

Jika kita evaluasi, penyakit ayam yang terdapat di Indonesia setiap tahun bertambah. Penyakit ayam tersebut tidak dapat dipisahkan, baik dari ayam ras maupun ayam buras, karena pada umumnya penyakit-penyakit tersebut ditemukan pada kelompok ayam-ayam tersebut. Kerugian yang ditimbulkan penyakit ayam dapat berbentuk kematian, pertumbuhan terlambat, produksi telur turun atau terhenti sama sekali. Selain itu ayam yang pernah terserang penyakit dapat menjadi sumber penyakit. Salah satu penyakit yang masih menjadi masalah bagi peternak adalah Penyakit Infectious Coryza (SNOT) baik itu penyebab, penyebaran maupun manajemen pengendalian dan pencegahannya. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi ilmiah kepada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Nusa Cendana dan Program Studi Kesehatan Hewan Politeknik Pertanian Negeri Kupang, sera masyarakat secara umum tentang manajemen penyakit Infectious Coryza (snot). Metode penulisan yang digunakan dalam penyusunan artikel ini adalah metode pustaka dan studi literatur. Dengan metode ini, penulis mencari dan mengumpulkan informasi penting yang sesuai dengan topik penulisan dari berbagai sumber seperti beberapa buku, artikel dan website atau situs-situs internet yang terkait. Infectious coryza (snot) merupakan suatu penyakit pernapasan pada ayam, yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Haemophilus paragallinarum dan dapat berlangsung akut sampai kronis. Secara umum snot dikenal sebagai penyakit yang menyebabkan kematian rendah tetapi morbiditasnya tinggi. Penyakit ini bersifat sangat infeksius dan terutama menyerang saluran pernapasan bagian atas. Penyakit ini merusak saluran pernapasan bagian atas, terutama rongga hidung. Snot mempunyai arti ekonomis yang penting dalam industri perunggasan sehubungan dengan peningkatan jumlah ayam yang diafkir, penurunan berat badan, penurunan produksi telur (10% - 40%), dan peningkatan biaya pengobatan. Abstract

Study on Medical Plants Habitat in Taman Wisata Alam Camplong. The research aimed to find out the habitat condition of medical plants in Taman Wisata Alam Camplong covering, structure and composition of vegetation, as well as accentual and threat to the medical plants habitat. Collecting data of medical plants habitat covered habitat type, structural and composition of vegetation and accentual/threat to habitat of the plants. Those data were obtained through stocktaking and were analyzed using vegetation analysis. Samples were acquired at line plot of 20 x 1000 m. The line plot, hereinafter, was divided into smaller, depended on growth level and life model of the plants observed. Data of INP (Indeks Nilai Penting = Important Value Index) was to know type of dominant plant (Soerianegara and Indrawan, 1998). The results indicated that habitat type in the area of TWA Camplong included semi fall forest. The highest INP of tree was 42,4884 at taduk (Alstonia scholaris), while, the lowest INP was at papi (wild sandalwood), that is 0,8538. Abstract

Integration of simple biotechnology practice into conventional feed manufacturing methods is expected to improve the quality of artificial feed. Fermentation technology can be used as an alternative way toincrease digestibility or bioavailability of artificial feed. The fermentation agent used is the starter of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc) and Rhizopus oligosporus (Ro). This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments (F1; withoutfermentation agents, F2; BAL, F3; Sc and F4; Ro) and three replications so that the total experimental units were 12 experimental units. The variables measured included the physical and chemical quality of feed, the level of feed consumption and the growth parameters of tilapia. Fermented feed produced significant fish growth (P <0.05) even with the same feed consumption level compared with the control. Breakdown of the nutrient content as a result of the fermentation process causes a far more efficient utilization.

Abstract

Development Prospects Agroindustry Processed Corn in Kupang Regency. This research was conducted in Kupang regency in March until October 2009. Samples of processed corn agro-industry players are determined by purposive sampling. Data analysis methods include: Financial Analysis, Value Added Analysis, Analysis and Development Strategy Prepared Agoindustri Corn. Results showed that processed corn Agroindustry financially beneficial to employers because: the mean acceptance of all three types of processed corn is greater than the average cost so that positive profits, the value of R/C of the three types of corn processing more than one and the amount of actual production and actual receipts have been exceed breakeven. There is the added value of every one kilogram of processed corn chips, amounting to Rp 5425 (0.82%), and Rp 27.500 (0.71%) to Marning corn and Lepa corn Rp 6.500,5 (0.37%). The strategy should be done in the development of refined corn agro-industry: increasing the number of production to meet market demand, improve the quality of processed food corn, so that it can compete with similar products on the market, increase capital and expand the marketing area through the promotion or through partnerships with parties who have wide market network as well as efficiency of production.Keywords: Agroindustry, processed food corn, financial analysis, value added, SWOT analysis
