Abstract

This study examined the writing skills of visual impairment when Y (initials) experienced some errors in writting some diction words by the teacher, Y reduced, replaced or even eliminated letters that should has been written.This research used a quantitative approach of Single Subject Research (SSR) with design of multiple baseline cross variables. The results of this research showed that CBM (Curriculum Based Measurement) can increase to be effectivelly the writing skills of students with visual impairment in SDLB.

Abstract

The result of observation in some parents shows that there is no guidance used by parents in the implementation of self-study, washing hands, eating, and drinking, so that, it can inhibit parents in providing treatment for autistic children at home. To assist parents in understanding the ways of teaching for eating, drinking and hand-washing activities, the researcher develops the Activity Daily of Living Program. This research is generally aimed at developing the ‘Activity of Daily Living’ program for parents to improve the ability of children with autism. The specific objectives are: (a) Produce a product development of activity of daily living program for the parents to improve self-help ability of children with autism, (b) Describe the feasibility of product development of activity of daily living program for parents to improve autistic children’s self-help ability. This research used a development approach by adapting the development model of Borg and Gall (2007). This development process consists of 10 development steps. This research activity was conducted limited trials of six parents (as users) in Surabaya. Feasibility results according to percentage of material experts obtained 76.19%, media / design experts with 77.77% percentage, and users (parents earn 77.77%), so that, it can be categorized into good. The result of this development is activity of daily living program which is packed in A4 paper size, 150 paper thickness, art paper type and 41 pages in which there are some steps of activity accompanied by picture in doing activity sch as hand washing, eating.Hasil observasi dibeberapa orang tua menunjukkan selama ini belum ada pedoman yang digunakan oleh orang tua dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran bina diri seperti mencuci tangan, makan, dan minum sehingga dapat menghambat orang tua dalam memberikan penanganan kepada anak autis dirumah. Untuk membantu orang tua dalam memahami cara-cara mengajarkan kegiatan makan, minum dan mencuci tangan peneliti mengembangkan program activity daily of living. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan mengembangkan program activity of daily living bagi orang tua untuk meningkatkan kemampuan anak autis. Tujuan khususnya, (a) menghasilkan produk pengembangan program activity of daily living bagi orang tua untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bina diri anak autis, (b) mendeskripsikan kelayakan tentang produk pengembangan program activity of daily livingbagi orang tua untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bina diri anak autis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan pengembangan dengan mengadaptasi model pengembangan Borg and Gall (2007), Proses pengembangan ini terdiri dari 10 langkah pengembangan. Kegiatan penelitian ini dilaksanakan uji coba terbatas terhadap enam orang tua (sebagai pengguna) di Surabaya. Hasil kelayakan menurut ahli materi prosentase yang diperoleh 76,19%, ahli media/desain dengan presentase 77,77% , dan pengguna (orang tua memperoleh 77,77%) di lapangan dapat dikategorikan baik/layak. Produk yang dihasilkan dari pengembangan ini yaitu program activity of daily livingyang dikemas dengan ukuran kertas A4, tebal kertas 150, jenis kertas art paper dan jumlah halaman 41halaman yang didalamnya terdapat langkah-langkah kegiatan aktivitas yang disertai gambar dalam melakukan aktivitas seperti mencuci tangan,makan

Abstract

The background of this study was the lack of social interaction ability of children with moderate mentally retarded fourth graders of SDLB. This study was aimed at implementing a new method to overcome social interaction problem of students with moderate mentally retarded in which the method was field trip. This study employed experimental design with Single Subject Research (SSR) method. The students’ social interaction ability in percentage was 44% to 40% in baseline and 70% to 89% in intervention. 14 to 12 for the form of frequency in baseline and 31 to 37 in intervention. The overlap percentage was 0%. Thus, field trip method had a positive effect toward the social interaction ability of children with moderate mentally retarded.

Abstract

This research was aimed at describing: (1) the students’ competence before being given intervention with pictorial domino cards, (2) the students’ competence after being given intervention with pictorial domino cards, and (3) the effect of picture domino cards toward the students’ competence in writing simple sentences. The research method used was experimental method using Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A design. The research results showed that the overlap percentage was 0%, it’s mean that there was an effect of the usage of pictorial domino cards toward the improvement of writing simple sentences competence of a student with hearing impairment. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) kemampuan peserta didik sebelum diberikan intervensi menggunakan kartu domino kata bergambar, 2)kemampuan peserta didik setelah diberikan intervensi menggunakan kartu domino kata bergambar, dan 3) pengaruh kartu domino kata bergambar terhadap kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan menggunakan Single Subject Reseach (SSR) desain A-B-A. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa presentase overlap sebesar 0%, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media kartu domino kata bergambar terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menulis kalimat sederhana peserta didik tunarungu.

Abstract

This research studies the design and development of the teaching and learning module with the assistance of interactive animation multimedia computer. The objective of this research is to address the following research questions, which are to enhance the interest and motivation of the special education learners as well as to facilitate the learners in identifying (CV+CV) syllables. The process in developing the software follows the ADDIE Model, which includes the five phases, namely “Analysis”, “Design”, “Development”, “Implementation” and “Evaluation”. The selection of topic in (CV+CV) syllables identification was made in order to help the special education learners in their reading process. The research method uses the Mayer’s Multimedia Learning Theory, which is based on Sweller’s Cognitive Load Theory (Chandler and Sweller). The research data was collected through a qualitative method and research design is a case study. The respondents of this research involve four learners selected through a sampling, who were then divided into one groups; namely Group A . The instruments of the research consist of a pre-test, a post-test and a questionnaire. The research finding shows that there is a significant increase ( 60% ) in the post-test of Group A. The learning through Interactive Animation Multimedia does not only attract the learners’ interest and enhance their motivation in learning, but also indirectly allows these special education learners to read.Keywords: ADDIE Model, Interactive Multimedia, and students with learning difficulties.Kajian ini mengenai pembangunan modul pengajaran dan pembelajaran (P&P) yang berbantukan kepada penggunaan komputer multimedia animasi interaktif. Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk menjawab beberapa persoalan kajian iaitu, untuk meningkatkan minat dan motivasi pelajar pendidikan khas dan untuk memudahkan pelajar mengenal suku kata (KV+KV). Proses membangunkan perisian ini adalah berdasarkan kepada Model ADDIE yang mempunyai lima fasa iaitu “Analysis”, “Design”, “Development”, “Implementation” dan “Evaluation”. Pemilihan tajuk mengenal suku kata (KV+KV) adalah untuk membantu pelajar-pelajar pendidikan khas dalam proses membaca. Proses kajian ini menggunakan Teori Pembelajaran Multimedia oleh Mayer, dan teori ini juga adalah berdasarkan kepada Teori Beban Kongnitif Sweller ( Chandler & Sweller ). Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kualitatif dan reka bentuk kajian ialah kajian kes. Sampel dalam kajian ini ialah seramai 4 orang pelajar yang dipilih secara sampel bertujuan yang telah dibentuk dalam satu kumpulan iaitu Kumpulan A. Instrumen kajian yang digunakan ialah ujian pra, ujian pos dan soal selidik. Dapatan kajian telah mendapati bahawa terdapat peningkatan pencapaian dalam ujian pra dan ujian pos yang menggunakan kaedah multimedia bagi Kumpulan A iaitu sebanyak (60 %) . Pembelajaran yang menggunakan kaedah Multimedia Animasi Interaktif bukan sahaja dapat menarik minat dan memberi motivasi kepada pelajar, secara tidak langsung juga pelajar pendidikan khas ini dapat membaca.

Abstract

Good mental health is important to meet challenges in life. In contrast, mental health problem may affect anyone at any age, and may significantly impair one’s ability to form daily activities. The aim of this study is to identify mental health state among hearing impaired secondary school students in Johor Bahru. For collecting data, a survey design was using a questionnaire. A total of 77 students with hearing disabilities were selected through purposive sampling to participate in this study. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics in the form of frequency and percentage. The findings in this study showed that peers problems are the most significant problems, followed by conduct problems, and emotional problems. These findings indicate that the need to tackle mental health problems due to the impact of poor mental health in an individual can lead to problems for the individuals themselves, their families and society.Kesihatan mental yang baik adalah penting untuk menghadapi cabaran dalam kehidupan. Sebaliknya, masalah kesihatan mental boleh menjejaskan sesiapa sahaja pada peringkat umur, dan dengan ketara boleh menjejaskan keupayaan seseorang untuk membentuk aktiviti harian. Tujuan utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti tahap kesihatan mental murid di sekolah menengah kurang upaya pendengaran di Johor Bahru. Kajian tinjauan ini menggunakan soalselidik untuk mengumpulkan data. Seramai 77 orang murid kurang upaya pendengaran yang telah dipilih melalui persampelan bertujuan sebagai responden dalam kajian ini. Data dianalisis melalui statistik deskriptif dalam bentuk kekerapan dan peratusan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa masalah rakan sebaya merupakan masalah yang paling signifikan, diikuti oleh masalah conduct, dan masalah emosi. Penemuan ini menunjukkan keperluan untuk menangani masalah kesihatan mental kerana impak kesihatan mental yang kurang memuaskan pada seseorang individu boleh mengakibatkan masalah kepada individu itu sendiri, keluarganya dan masyarakat amnya.
