Abstract

Depapre District is overgrown with itchy leaves which are useful as traditional medicines, for pain, fatigue, aches. This itchy leaf is widely available in the village and is used but has not been maximally managed. If itchy leaves are used, the economy of the community can be helped. The purpose of this activity is to implement the DPTM program which were to socialize, train, create, and evaluate the diversification of itchy leaf products. This activity also provided materials, supporting facilities and infrastructure in making itchy leaf products to the Depapre District community by involving the district government, the Indonesian Parliament and the BPOM as the relevant agencies. The method was carried out by means of coordination, implementation of activities in the form of lecture and lecture, practice of making itchy leaf products, and evaluation. This activity was carried out for 6 months. The conclusion obtained from this activity is that 51% of participants have participated in the same activity. As many as 98, 9% of participants benefited from this activity and 85% of the community were able to make itchy leaf products. There were three grinding technology units and three boxes of chemicals that are donated to the people of Depapre, each of which contains a device (stamper and mortar), materials (PEG 400, PEG 6000, methyl paraben, palm oil, talc, powder containers, labels, simplicia container, ointment container). In this activity also produced itchy leaf products in the form of simplicia and ointments.

Abstract

Anemia iron deficiency in adolescent girls have an impact to decrease of productivity work and academic ability in school and long term can lead to complications in pregnancy and childbirth. Therefore, it is necessary prevention and control of anemia with the provision of iron. The purpose of this research was to determine the intake of iron supplementation and the effectiveness of giving oral iron supplementation to increase levels of adolescent girl’s hemoglobin. This is interventional research with one group pretest-posttest design. The Sample in this research is adolescent girls, with a total sample of 31 respondents. The respondent received iron supplementation every Friday, for one month through “Gerakan Jumat Pintar”. The nutritional intake data were obtained from the food record for 3 days. Statistically, the analysis used is Wilcoxon. The result indicated that anemia iron deficiency in adolescent girls is decrease from 42% to 22.6%. Adolescent girls who suffer from moderate anemia are a decrease from 58% to 42%, whereas adolescent girls who did not suffer from anemia experienced an increase to 35.4%. The result of this research concluded that iron supplementation among adolescent girl is the effectiveness of giving oral iron supplementation through “Gerakan Jumat Pintar” to hemoglobin that is increase 1.01 gr/dl.

Abstract

The coastal communities of the Pohara river, Sampara Subdistrict, where the habitat for endemic pokea clam growth, has a habit of consuming pokea clam meat which can affect the nutritional status of the family. Pokea clam meat (Batissa violacea celebensis von Marten 1897) contains fatty acids, which can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. The purpose of this community service, to identify patterns of consumption of pokea clam and  nutritional status. The method used through interviews, counseling and examination of nutritional status. The number of respondents identified was 72 respondents. Data were collected by questionnaire regarding the consumption pattern of pokea clam, measurement of height, weight and waist circumference. The results of the identification of consumption patterns of pokea clam meat showed 58% of respondents, consuming average pokea clam 1-3 times a day. As many as 78%, processing directly the pokea clam meat. The types of preparations consumed are pokea satay (39%) and boiled pokea (8%). The results of examination of Body Mass Index (BMI) obtained 50.0% normal nutritional status, 16.7% excess and 30.6% obesity. Waist circumference measurement results, 47.2% are normal, and 52.8% are not normal. Integrated and sustainable health promotion, need to improve the nutritional status of coastal communities.

Abstract

Health problems are so complex today. It encourages the people to look for effective treatment alternatives and also efficient in terms of cost. Self medication is being an alternative that has been taken by the the people. Irrational self medication management could lead to disadvantages such as medication errors due to misdiagnosis, inappropriate drugs use due to bias of information from drug advertisements and unwanted drug reactions. Education and Socialization of  Gema Cermat was conducted by UHAMKA pharmacist lecturers on December 24th, 2017 in cooperation with PCPM Setu and pharmacists PC IAI Bekasi district as an effort in order to improve the concern, awareness, understanding and skill of people in using drugs properly and correctly. The methods used are CBIA, giving the brochure of Gema Cermat, the pocket books of drugs use and drugs classification, pre-test, post-test and materials about Gema Cermat through oral presentation by a pharmacist. The results of education and socialization of Gema Cermat are improving the values of the community regarding the proper and correct use of drugs. It could be seen from the increasing of average pre-test score, 72.5 to 89.7 on post-test. People could analyze and record data that they need to be considered on the drugs use so that  the proper and correct use of drugs can be achieved.

Abstract

This community services activity was conducted together with a partner that is Benong II Farmers Group, in the Kalibuaya Village, Telaga Sari, Karawang. The problem that faced by partners is a lack of understanding of plant pest organisms (OPT), especially plant pests and diseases, as well as a lack of knowledge about the natural enemies. Knowledge and skills of the Benong II Farmers Group in the Kalibuaya Village, Telaga Sari, Karawang regarding the management and control of rice stem borer that environmentally friendly, especially biological control using parasitoid Trichogramma sp. needs to be improved. The evaluation results show that counselling and training on the breeding of natural enemies Trichogramma sp. resulting in the development and progress of the behavior, attitudes, and skills of farmers. There are four main results of the research. The results are (1) farmer more understand of the use of biological agents for IPM-based rice pest and disease control; (2) want to implement the control of rice stem borer Scirpophaga sp. by using Trichogramma sp.; (3) more skilled in monitoring the presence or absence of pests in rice plantations in the field; and (4) more active in finding out to community service teams, farmer group leaders, and POPT / field extension officers about how to mass culture theTrichogramma sp. and it’s release techniques in the field.

Abstract

The application product for village office administration services using Microsoft Access with LAN networks is the result of research related to the need of excellent service for correspondences at the village office. Product development has ten stages, which are the analysis of potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revisions, product trials, product revisions, product trials after revision, product revisions, and final production. The results of the product validation indicate that this application is feasible to use. The results of the use of the product indicate that the majority of respondents (village officials) stated that the application system of Microsoft Access-based village administration using LAN networks is very helpful in improving the quality of correspondence services in village offices, especially related to the writing of an inbox agenda book, an outgoing agenda book, letter making. and disposition.Keywords: service applications; service quality; village administration.

Abstract

Pharmacist Odong-Odong, Symbols, and Media Branding the Pharmacist's Existence in Indonesian Communities within the framework of the Drug Conscious Smart Society Movement (GEMACERMAT) is a movement based on the deterioration of the pharmacist's image in the last two years due to various cases in Indonesia. The goals of pharmacists odong-odong become symbols of the existence and role of pharmacists in society. The method used is making odong-odong in the form of a pharmacist holding a capsule, turning children's song lyrics into lyrics about basic knowledge of medicine that the public must know and introducing odong-odong as the new mascot of the pharmacists of IAI Bantul Branch members and pharmacists of IYPG members of the Yogyakarta Branch when they organizing community service activities. The result of this community service is that pharmacists odong-odong are created with various children's songs whose lyrics have been changed. The pharmacist odong-odong, was first used by the IAI when conducting antibiotic drug counseling at a healthy walk event in the framework of the 73rd Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia organized by Karang Taruna Tanuditan Bantul. Odong-odong pharmacists have also been placed in several pharmacies belonging to IYPG member pharmacists. Pharmacists odong-odong become a favorite place for children to play while enjoying a song that contains knowledge about medicine. The songs are expected to enter the subconscious of the community and indirectly educate the use of drugs.Keywords: pharmacist; odong-odong; IYPG; IAI; GEMACERMAT.

Abstract

Giving sakura block plus that contain katuk leaf and turmeric flour are expected to increase the production of milk from dairy cow in Sumber Mulya livestock group. Community service activities are carried out through several stages: socialization, training, demonstration plots, and field tests. Socialization aims to provide an understanding of the purpose and objectives of the activity. The training has several objectives, namely the introduction of sakura block plus supplements, understanding the benefits of sakura block plus supplements for dairy cattle, materials and equipment used, and practices. Making sakura block plus begins with weighing ingredients, then mixed them until blended. Then, heat the brown sugar that has been mixed with 20% water. After that, mix the ingredients with brown sugar. Next, sakura block plus is pressed by presses tool. The last stage is wrapping it using plastic wrap. The demonstration plot and field test were conducted for three months and using three dairy cattle. The forage consumption of dairy cows used in demonstration plots ranges from 40-45 kg/head/day. Milk production in Sumber Mulya livestock group is 10.28 liters/head/day. The use of sakura blok can increase milk production 2 until 3 liters/head/day. The average milk production after using sakura block plus can reach 13 liters/head/day.Keywords: katuk leaf; livestock group; milk; suplement.

Abstract

Cellulose bacterial is cellulose formed by bacteria sugar content in waste. Cassava-based industrial liquid waste contains sugar (5-7)%, so it has the potential as a substrate because it meets the minimum glucose requirements of (6-7)% to form cellulose bacterial. The waste was obtained from liquid waste from home industry cassava rengginang in Nyamok Village. However, liquid waste smells bad because it is directly streamed into the environment. Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to give solutions for overcome environmental pollution and increase the income of cassava rengginang craftsmen in Nyamok Village. The methods are lectures, demonstrations, production training, assistance, and socialization. Liquid waste made from cassava chips was used as raw material for making nata de cassava. It was fermented with Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast (SCOBY) bacteria for 10-14 days. Training activities were successful as 86% people participated in the training. The participants were around 40 years old and elementary school graduates. The characteristics of the participants influence their interest and ability to absorb new information. It is proved by 89% of the participants are able to make Nata de cassava and their understanding of the counseling material was above the target of 80%.Keywords: cassava rengginang; nata de cassava; production training; SCOBY.

Abstract

Teachers as professional educators should have some competencies, such as pedagogical competence, personal competence, social competence, and professional competence. The focus of this workshop is on the professional competence which its definition is the teacher's ability in mastering broad and in-depth subject matter that allows guiding students to meet the competency standards set in the National Education Standards. There are many activities that can support or enhance the professional competence of teachers, such as writing. By writing, teachers have the opportunity to develop themselves in order to become more creative, active, innovative and professional teachers. The module of X applications usage for vocational teachers can be used to support teacher activities in writing scientific papers. This module will be useful to facilitate the writing of citations in a scientific work. Using the Mendeley application in this workshop, make the teacher to be more insightful which support their research activity, also can improve their motivation to know how the important thing of research in their field. Therefore, this service activity want to give the teacher a knowledge of tips and tricks to facilitate journal writing. There are tools that can be used to make citations in the bibliography, such as the reference feature, Endnote, or Mendeley. So that the teacher's writing will be known and it is easier for teacher to convey the results of his research in relevant journals, especially vocational teachers in Malang.
