Abstract

Income inequality is a common issue in many countries, making it hard for communities to thrive. This study looks at what factors affect income inequality in the Special Region of Yogyakarta from 2016 to 2022. The data used include education, health, labor, and income per person. The study uses a number-crunching approach called panel data regression analysis with E-views 10. The findings reveal that education, health, labor, and per capita income all play a significant role in income inequality. Education has a positive impact on income inequality, while health and labor have a negative impact. Surprisingly, per capita income doesn't significantly affect income inequality. This means that in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, only education, health, and labor partially determine income inequality. Therefore, local leaders should invest in education and health to improve the quality of their workforce, aiming for more equal incomes in society.

Abstract

Brand identity is an element that shapes the way a brand looks, feels and communicates with its audience. This research further studies the role of BTPN Syariah facilitator in developing brand identity and its impact on product sales at MMS Bakung. This research aims to (1) Know the role of the facilitator companion (2) Know the impact of using brand identity on sales growth at MMS Bakung. The research method used is qualitative method, through direct interviews with BTPN Syariah customers. The results of this study show (1) The role of BTPN Syariah facilitators in developing brand identity is to plan and guide the creation of business identity and implement it in daily business activities, and (2) The impact of using brand identity on sales at MMS Bakung is experiencing an increase in sales/customers although not significant. Abstract

This study aims to identify the dominant instrument in determining labor absorption and its improvement strategy in small industries in Jambi City. The method used in this study is secondary data analysis, with a multiple regression model approach to analyze the relationship between variables that affect labor absorption in small industries. The data used includes information related to production, labor, and other supporting factors in the small industry sector in Jambi City. The results of the analysis show that production value is the most dominant instrument in determining labor absorption in small industries. This shows that the higher the production value, the more labor is absorbed by the small industry. Based on these findings, the strategy to increase labor absorption needs to be focused on efforts to increase production value. One approach that can be applied is to develop more efficient and productive production techniques, and improve product quality in order to compete in a wider market. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the aspect of competitive selling prices so that products from small industries can be more easily accepted by consumers.

Abstract

Live Streaming Commerce (LSC) has transformed consumer shopping behavior by integrating real-time interactivity in digital. This study uses the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework to analyze how product types (utilitarian and hedonic) and LSC characteristics (social presence, personalization, and entertainment) influence impulsive buying through trust (cognitive trust and emotional trust) and flow experience, which includes enjoyment and concentration. Quantitative data were collected from 375 Gen Z and Millennial respondents who are active TikTok users in Indonesia as an LSC platform. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis reveals that utilitarian products positively influence cognitive trust but negatively influence emotional trust. In contrast, hedonic products positively influence both. Social presence and entertainment characteristics have a positive impact on enjoyment and concentration, while personalization is not significant for enjoyment and negatively affects concentration. Emotional trust and enjoyment positively influence impulsive buying, while cognitive trust and concentration have no significant impact. These findings contribute theoretically to consumer behavior literature and offer practical implications for marketers in designing more effective strategies on the LSC platform.

Abstract

The dessert industry faces the ongoing challenge of innovation, where existing products often share similarities in taste and presentation. This study aims to develop an innovative dessert product by combining mochi and brownies, using the Design Thinking approach. The approach involves five main stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The process begins with observation and interviews to understand consumer needs and preferences. Based on initial findings, creative ideas were developed to create a unique dessert product, Mochi Brownies or "Mownies," combining the chewy texture of mochi with the softness of brownies. The product prototype was tested to evaluate taste, texture, and packaging design, with consumer feedback used to refine the product. The findings indicate that the use of Design Thinking is effective in creating a product that meets consumer needs and provides a new culinary experience. This study recommends continuous product development, enhanced packaging quality and design, as well as the application of effective marketing strategies to improve the product's competitiveness in the market.

Abstract

Batik MSMEs play a vital role in local economic development in Sungai Penuh City. Sungai Penuh’s distinctive batik features motifs inspired by local culture, making it a unique attraction with high market value. However, the development of this sector faces various challenges, such as limited capital, low adoption of technology, low production capacity, and restricted marketing networks. This study aims to analyze the current condition of batik MSMEs in Sungai Penuh City, formulate development strategies based on innovation, collaboration, and technology, and provide policy recommendations to local governments and other stakeholders. The analytical tools used include the IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) matrix, EFE (External Factor Evaluation) matrix, IE (Internal-External) matrix, and SWOT analysis. The findings indicate that batik MSMEs possess a primary strength in their unique motifs rooted in local culture but face significant challenges in production capacity, marketing, and capital. Major opportunities lie in digital markets, government policy support, and strategic partnerships. Based on the IE matrix, batik MSMEs are positioned in a "grow and develop" category, requiring intensive strategies such as market penetration, market development, and product innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of ShopeePay digital wallet users as a means of payment among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jambi and how promotion, convenience, security, and pocket money in using ShopeePay affect consumption behavior among students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jambi. The method used is descriptive and Binary Logistic Regression using SPSS statistical software version 25.0. The results of this study based on the characteristics of the respondents, show that the majority of ShopeePay users are female and the average user is 22 years old, the average monthly pocket money of respondents is IDR 748,558. The amount of ShopeePay expenditure per month averages IDR 297,596, the frequency of using ShopeePay averages 4.72 times per month and the products purchased are mostly clothing. Based on the Wald test, the results show that convenience, security, and pocket money influence student consumption behavior, while promotion does not. Based on the omnibus model fit test, promotion, convenience, security, and pocket money have an overall effect on the consumption behavior of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jambi.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and find out: 1). development of foreign exchange reserves, exports, gross domestic product and current account balance in ASEAN-5 for the 1991-2020 period. 2). The influence of exports, GDP and current account balance (NTB) on foreign exchange reserves in ASEAN-5 in 1991-2020. The data used in this research is secondary data sourced from the world bank. The method used is a descriptive and quantitative method using panel data regression statistical analysis tools. The results of this research show that 1). During the 1991-2020 period, the development of foreign exchange reserves, exports, gross domestic product (GDP) and current account balance (NTB) in ASEAN-5 soared with an increasing average. 2). simultaneously and partially the export variable, gross domestic product has a positive and significant effect on foreign exchange reserves in ASEAN-5.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) To find out and analyze the social and economic conditions of oil palm farmers (2) To find out and analyze factors that affect income, the number of family dependents, education and age on farmers' consumption in Pulau Tujuh Village, West Pamenang District, Merangin Regency. The analysis methods used in this study are descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis using analysis tools, namely multiple linear regression. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling of 82 oil palm farmers. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that income and the number of family dependents were significant to the consumption of oil palm farmers while the variables of education and age were not significant to the consumption of oil palm farmers in Pulau Tujuh Village, West Pamenang District, Merangin Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of service quality, price perception, and sales promotion on consumer purchasing interest in shopee food, especially in Sidoarjo. With the rapid development of e-commerce and food delivery services, understanding the factors that influence consumer purchasing decisions is very important for companies to maintain competitiveness in the market. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with non-probability sampling, targeting 100 respondents who have used shopee food. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that all variables, namely service quality, price perception, and sales promotion, have a significant influence on consumer purchasing interest. This study determines the importance of these factors in shaping consumer behavior and provides insight for businesses to formulate better marketing strategies.
