Abstract

Risk is a factor that hinders supply chain operations that cannot be avoided but can be minimized or eliminated by carrying out appropriate risk management. This research was conducted at a cosmetic factory with a make-to-order business system. The purpose of this research is to identify the various risks that occur, analyze the sources of risk and create mitigation strategies. The method used in this research is the House of Risk Model to identify and determine the priority of the handling strategy. There are 7 risks that become a priority for mitigation, namely sudden demand, increased demand, dependence on one supplier, supplier lead time too long, delays in delivery schedules, inappropriate alternative supplier selection, and delays in the purchasing process. In this case, the planning and sourcing processes must be improved.

Abstract

PT X is a manufacturer of cardboard box whose products are indispensable for various fields. The problem identified in NH1X36B pre-printed box, which is a shoes box, is the high defect rate that exceed company target of 2%. This study aims to reduce the defect rate of the product. The Quality-Management (QM) and Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) approach was conducted by integrating Six Sigma and data mining. The Business Understanding phase was intended to define business and data mining objectives, SIPOC (Supplier-Input-Process-Output-Customer) diagram, and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ). In Data Understanding phase, it is known that the Defects Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) value is 1210.12. Data preparation phase was carried out with data cleaning, reduction, and discretization. Based on the Modeling result using Decision Tree C4.5 and FP-Growth algorithm, it is known that the dominant attributes causing high rejection are smeared ink, white spots, uneven varnish, and delamination. Decision Tree model accuracy of 90.24% indicates that the model is performing well. Analysis using FMEA yielded priority correction to the causes of smeared ink, uneven varnish, and delamination. Process improvement in Deployment phase was the application of plate cleaning and mounting form, printing process checklist, and SOP for sheet inspection. The improvement plans managed to improve the quality by rising sigma level from 4.533 to 4.648 sigma and decrease defect rate to 1.559%.

Abstract

The growing interest of the Indonesian people in the cultivation of LAT (Freshwater Lobster) is one of the effects of government regulation no. 56/ Permen-KP/2016. Since the occurrence of the Covid-19 pandemic with regional restrictions, one of the LAT cultivation industries of the Red Claw (Cherax Quadricarinatus) type in the Sidoarjo area, East Java, has experienced problems in supplying lobster to consumers in various regions outside cities in Indonesia. The delay in the supply of lobster results in delays in the supply of raw materials for consumers, the majority of whom are restaurant or restaurant activists. The success of supply chain management is determined by the number of costs that can be minimized, short time, and quality that is maintained, as well as the level of risk minimization (supply chain risk). Based on the problems that occur, risk identification will be carried out in each process to see its effect on cost, time, and quality. Then proceed with determining the weight based on the level of resistance (severity), possible resistance (occurrence), and the cause of the detected obstacle (detection). The last step is to calculate the RPN (Risk Priority Number) value obtained from the severity results. From the results of the analysis of risk identification and calculation of RPN with the FMEA approach, the highest risk weight with an RPN value of 105 was obtained due to the risk factor for the increase in distribution costs of cultivation products due to the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Thus, the company should consider reorganizing its business strategy to focus on areas that are close to the point of supply of freshwater crayfish.

Abstract

According to the concept of supply chain management, one of the possible solutions for mutual survival in a turbulent world market is chain cooperation among the producer, his suppliers, and customers. The problem of supplier selection and determination of material quantities supplied is one of the most important activities in the supply chain. The purpose of this research is to propose a model for supplier selection for Cold Rolled Coil (CRC) supply by using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), based on decision-making criteria validated by experts in the galvanizing industry. This study found that for galvanizing industry the weight of importance of Cost, Quality, Product, Service, and Delivery criteria is 0.47, 0.19, 0.19, 0.07, and 0.07, respectively. Supplier ranking based on their importance to the industry’s purpose has also been found, which would assist the decision-making process in determining CRC suppliers.
