Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the food and beverage sector is one of the sectors negatively affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, even though this sector is one of the largest contributors to the Gross Domestic Product of the non-oil and gas industry in Indonesia. This study intends to provide an overview of solutions in the form of case studies on the Mahkota Caman MSME in Bekasi, Indonesia, which experienced a decline in sales during the pandemic, resulting in overstock and damage to non-durable raw materials. As a result, it leads to an increase in inventory costs and even a loss of sales. The solution offered by this study is an optimization of production planning, namely determining what products and how many of these products should be produced in a certain period. The method used is goal programming, both with and without priority, so that Mahkota Caman can meet consumer demands, and minimize production costs, while minimizing the purchase of raw materials. The results of this study indicate that the optimal optimization method used by Mahkota Caman is goal programming with priority because it provides a more efficient solution to production costs and the purchase of raw materials. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that optimization methods be used by MSMEs in the food and beverage sector during a pandemic, and to avoid using only feeling in production planning.

Abstract

The machining process in PT. SPPA is still carried out conventionally, especially in the idler rebuilding process. There are found work accidents that result in work-related illnesses. In preventing accidents, it is necessary to do risk management efforts. Therefore it is necessary to conduct research by integrating FMEA and TOPSIS for risk management strategies in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). The FMEA method is used to identify risks and assess the level of risk based on severity, ooccurrence and detection. Furthermore, the TOPSIS method is used to determine the order of priority for improvement to overcome existing risks. The results showed that there were 17 risks in machining activities with a lathe where the risks with the highest RPN value were experiencing pain or muscle cramps when setting up the lathe, experiencing noise during the lathe process, and exposure to chips from the lathe process. Furthermore, each risk is investigated using the 5 Whys method to determine the root causes of the problems, and it was found that the causes of these risks were low-quality work equipment, lack of training, socialization or briefings on OHS, and the high cost of providing adequate PPE. Based on these issues, a priority list of recommendations for improvement is compiled using the TOPSIS method, including routine equipment condition checks, providing SOPs for equipment use, providing appropriate PPE for each job, providing training for employees, allowing adequate rest time, and providing high-quality work equipment.

Abstract

In Indonesia, motorcycle ownership is more than other motorized vehicles. However, the more motorbikes are used, the more vehicle emissions are released. So we need transportation solutions that are more environmentally friendly and energy efficient such as electric motorbikes which can be obtained with a converter kit by still utilizing existing conventional motorbike parts as provided by PT. A B C. However, many challenges were encountered in the commercialization of the converter kit from PT ABC, such as limited and uncertain suppliers, limited introduction to the market, and unpreparedness of Human Resources in product management. This study aims to analyze the constraints on the commercialization process of converter kit products as a basis for designing supply chain engineering proposals and appropriate business engineering. Based on the analysis of TRL and Goldsmith, it shows that the product is at TRL 8 or has fulfilled the requirements, but still has various obstacles. Based on the SWOT analysis, the company still has several shortcomings due to limited market interest, marketing strategies implemented, and price volatility. The results show that there is a business strategy design using the Business Model Canvas method to accelerate technology commercialization, one of which is through the expansion of existing partnership and marketing systems.

Abstract

Aircraft have thousands of components that must be maintained to remain functional. Components on aircraft have a high enough price that maintenance is required. The power source on an airplane can be divided into 2 types, namely AC and DC. One source of AC electricity is the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) which is one of the important components of an aircraft that functions as a generator of electricity. If IDG experiences a problem, it will disrupt aircraft operations. For this purpose, IDG must receive good care with effective services. The processing time for maintenance services takes 42.8 hours for one IDG part unit. This study aims to balance the trajectory. The IDG part maintenance process is carried out by Pro-model simulation. The results of the IDG maintenance simulation are the maintenance time in operation (Average time in Operation) which is 42.61 hours and the IDG parts handled are 11 IDG parts. The results of this simulation scenario can estimate the possible number of IDG parts that will occur annually and can estimate the total service capacity that handles the planned number of incoming entities. The best scenario results when the capacity of 1 service group per unit will result in the number of IDG maintenance services of 11 units per year, by increasing the service capacity to 2 service groups per unit will result in the number of IDG maintenance services of 23 units per year. And by increasing the service capacity to 4 service groups per unit, the number of maintenance services will be 46 units per year.

Abstract

The increase in products from chemicals is currently growing rapidly in the Indonesian manufacturing industry. This correlates with a chemical test laboratory that is experiencing a flurry of activity. The placement of chemicals in testing laboratories still does not have problem-solving that can make it easier to search for other potential dangers. So far, the placement of chemicals is not based on hazard, but only on phase differences, namely solid and liquid phases, as well as materials that are frequently and rarely used can pose a hazard. This study aims to provide knowledge about main hazard control to all employees and propose material hazard handling in environmental laboratory testing following the material MSDS. This research method uses the concept of re-layout chemicals in the laboratory based on the type of danger they cause by collecting data obtained from MSDS, literature review studies, references from books, government regulations, and the Merck China website to see the characteristics of chemicals that will be placed in the material stock storage room. This study found a layout mapping of chemicals in the materials storage room, with 3 storage areas and 2 additional storage areas. The result of this research is that Cabinet A is filled with harmless solid phase materials and a class of toxic substances. The chemicals in cabinet B, consist of solid-phase materials that are corrosive, harmless, irritating, carcinogenic, and highly flammable. Whereas on shelf C letter L it consists of liquid phase materials which are harmless, corrosive, dangerous, flammable, highly flammable, highly flammable, carcinogenic or toxic. Whereas Container D contains chemicals that have oxidizing properties and Cabinet E contains chemicals that are highly flammable in water.

Abstract

The usage of advertising as a medium for marketing products/services is used by various businesses to increase profits. The advertising medium mainly used is billboards, which still use fossil energy as an energy source. The Indonesian government's 2060 Net Zero Emission Program promotes using renewable energy (RE) as an energy source, such as photovoltaic (PV) as electrical energy from solar heat. As with RE, the development of PV still has problems in products and business, but PV is ready to be used as an energy source to reduce electricity bill costs. The business idea of PV installation in the advertising company sector emerged to support the government program Net Zero Emission, making advertising companies "green jobs" and absorbing human resources from vocational schools. Business conceptual design with value chains, business model canvas, and lean canvas expected can provide an overview of business opportunities with EBT for Indonesia that are environmentally friendly and energy independent.
