Abstract

The limited role of students when learning mathematics results in students not being able to actualize the abilities that are in the students optimally. One of these abilities, namely the cognitive abilities of students. This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes with inquiry learning strategies in students of class VIII odd semester of SMP Muhammadiyah Sewon, Bantul District, 2018/2019 school year. This research is a Class Action Research (CAR). This study's subjects were class VIII-A students of Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Sewon, Bantul District, 2018/2019 school year. Simultaneously, the object in this study is the result of learning mathematics in class VIII-A students. Data is collected through observation, interviews, daily test tests, and also documentation. Data analysis used qualitative descriptive data analysis. The results of the study show that inquiry learning strategies can improve mathematics learning outcomes for students. From the results of observations that have been made during the study, there is an increase in mathematics learning outcomes for students in the learning process. In the first cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes is 67.97, and the percentage of classical learning completeness is 62.50%. There was an increase in the average value of student learning outcomes in the second cycle, 71.09, and the percentage of classical learning completeness became 71.88%. From the results of daily tests held at the end of each cycle, it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematic learning for the eighth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Junior high School Banguntaoan (SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan) Yogyakarta uses lecture method, discussion, and question and answer, which resulted in the students less enthusiastic during the mathematic lessons. Also, the mathematics lesson that is considered difficult, and the method is considered less fun is an obstacle for students to get a satisfactory mark. This research aims to find whether there are differences on students' result of learning mathematics using group investigation learning model and think pair share learning model and to compare the effectiveness of both models on the result of learning mathematics of the eighth-grade students of even semester at SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan Yogyakarta in the academic year 2016/2017. This research population is the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan, which are class VIIIA, VIIIB, and VIIIC. The sample of this research is taken from two classes using a random sampling technique for the classes. It is obtained from the experiment class VIIIB and the experiment class VIIIA. The design of this research is the posttest-only control design. The data collection is obtained using the test method. The instrument is tested using validity, reliability, and different potency test. The data analysis technique used for prerequisite analysis tests is the normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The result of this research at a significant level 5% and df= 60 indicates that: (1) There are differences in the students' learning mathematics results using the group investigation learning model and Think Pair Share learning model. It is showed by the value of and  so that  and (2) group investigation learning model is more effective than Think Pair Share learning model on the students’ result of learning mathematics. Abstract

The nature of learning that still tends to be teacher-centered. This is what is thought to lead to poor learning outcomes. Need a learning model to improve learning in the classroom to obtain satisfactory learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of cooperative learning model between Numbered Heads Together (NHT) with Two Stay Two Stray (TS - TS) on the learning outcomes of VII students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 3 Jetis Bantul Yogyakarta academic year 2014/2015 on the principle of linear equations one variable and equivalents. This type of research is a comparative study. This research uses a posttest - only control design. The population in this study were all students of class VII, namely class VII A, VII B, VII C, VII D, and VII E, consisting of 160 students. The research sampling technique used random sampling: the entire population consisting of five classes is randomized. In one class for the trial, class VII D, and Class VII A and VII B as the research sample. The research data was collected by using the posttest problem to know the learning result. Data analysis for hypothesis testing in this research using a two-party t-test and one party t-test with a 5% significance level. Based on the calculation of two-t-test on the research with a significant level of 5% = 0.05 and dk = 62 obtained  and   which mean  then there are differences in mathematics learning outcomes using NHT type cooperative learning method and TS-TS type cooperative learning. Then based on the hypothesis test, one party with significant level 5% = 0,05 and dk = 62 obtained   and   which mean   the cooperative learning model of NHT type is more effective than the TS-TS model of cooperative learning model of the mathematics learning outcomes of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 3 Jetis academic year 2014/2015 on the subject of linear equations of one variable and the equivalence.

Abstract

This research was done because there are many students who are less active in learning. Students do not want to ask about the material they have not understood that the learning outcomes obtained less than the maximum. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning by using strategies question giving and getting answer compared using expository strategy on learning outcomes math of students in class XI of SMK Negeri 1 Pundong Bantul District even Semester in the academic year 2015/2016. This research design was control group posttest-only design. The population in this research was a class XI TKJ A, XI TKJ B, and XI TITL A student of SMK Negeri 1 Pundong. Samples were taken using random sampling techniques derived class XI TKJ B as an experiment class and class XI TKJ A as the control class. The data collection is done with test method. Testing instrument using validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using analysis prerequisite test including normality test with Chi-square formula, homogeneity test with Bartlett's test, and hypothesis testing using t-test. Based on calculations with significance level  and degrees of freedom of 60, the conclusion that: (1) there are differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using active learning strategies type of giving question and getting answer by learning to use expository strategies. This is indicated by the results of the first test hypothesis that  that is .(2) learning to use active learning strategies type of  giving question and getting  answer more effective than learning to use strategies expository. It is shown from the results of the second test the hypothesis that  that is .
