Abstract

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is a major issue in the world of tourism, especially for the hospitality industry. The quality of human resources becomes essential aspects in order to face the AEC, therefore employee performance is very important to note the suitability those performance low can be influenced by some issues ability and motivation work employees. The aim of this research is to find out how the work ability and motivation give or affect the performance of employees di Hotel Isola. The method used in this research is explanatory survey method. Samples were frontline employees as much as 40 respondents by stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed by by using path analysis with SPSS V.22.0 The results showed that there is influence between the variables of work ability and variable work motivation on employee performance.

Abstract

This paper would give a conceptual discussion of the media convergence, technology acceptance model, and   its implication on tourism marketing communication. Media convergence is the integration of multiple media, particularly conventional media with the new media. Conventional media such as a printed, audio, and audio-visual media are now integrated by the Internet technology. Thus, the information can be accessed through the personal devices. This notion affects to the way people use their leisure times, as well as, the industry do the marketing activities for tourism. Since the length of stay of tourists is decreasing, so the technology intent to assist these activities to the tourist. Hence, the paper would also discuss the tendency of the short-break tourists and the tourism business players in using the technology and its implication to the marketing communication.

Abstract

The tourism and hospitality industry is growing rapidly. This notion has led to a tight competition among the industry. To survive the competition, many industries have tried hard to keep the customers' loyalty because acquiring the new customer is even harder than maintaining the loyal customers. Padma Hotel Bandung has operated a restaurant. However, the data showed that there was a 6.1% decrease on the number of tourist who dined in there. This study aims to examine the influence of atmospheric experiences of the customer loyalty. The sample size was 100 respondents who were the members of Padma Privilege Dining Club. The data were analyzed by multiple linear regression techniques. The independent variable of this research was the atmospheric experience of the restaurant that consisted of ambience, interaction, and design as the dimensions. Furthermore, the dependent variable of this research was the customer loyalty. The result showed that the interaction as the atmospheric experience variable got the highest rating score. However, the ambience dimension was at the lowest position. Finally, it was concluded that the atmospheric experience had a positive influence to the customer loyalty.

Abstract

The number of guests who make purchases at the Sapulidi Resto, Resort Restaurant, and Gallery, a themed restaurant in Bandung, does not match the targets set by the management. The management has established authentic atmospherics scape to stimulate guests who come and make purchases. This study aims to obtain findings on the description of authentic atmospherics space implemented in the restaurant. The type of research used is descriptive analysis with the method used is explanatory survey and cross sectional technique. A total of 100 guests at the restaurant became the unit of analysis of this research. The result of data processing showed that the music dimension got the highest value while the furnishing dimension got the lowest value.

Abstract

This research aims to know the strategy of development of Tourism Destinations in the Togian Islands, Regency Tojo Una-Una, Central Sulawesi Province. The island has become a major national tourist's destination in Indonesia between 50 regions in Indonesia. However, the number of tourists visited the island were fluctuated for the last three years. This research examined the tourism strategy formulation based on internal and external factor analysis at the destination. The research used some instruments to compile data, such as observation, interview, questionnaires, and documentation. The research result indicated that there were several strategies that could be implemented in developing the Togian island. The strategies were as follows: 1) developing cultural and natural tours, such as bird watching, beach activities and Bajeu village visits; 2) establishing close relationship and cooperation between public and private sectors; 3) attracting foreign investors; 4) building and maintaining the tourist facilities in some strategic locations; 5) increasing community awareness for developing tourism; 6) developing ethnic-based tour packages. Therefore, some recommendations for the destination are on developing cultural, natural, and culinary tourism; improving the public facilities; developing accessibility; and strengthening cooperation among stakeholders.

Abstract

The Development of information and technology has entered various elements of life, including human lifestyle when visiting restaurants. Some trends in the younger generation when visiting restaurants in Bandung, they often check in on social media, take selfie pictures with the interior design of the restaurant as the background, and the most common activity is taking photo of food or beverage products of the restaurant. furthermore, they upload the pictures to various social media. If referring to the literature, these activities could be classified as electronic word of mouth (e-WOM). The purpose of this study was to determine the role of e-word of mouth to increase the purchasing decision of restaurants in North Bandung. This is an explanatory study. The population in this study were restaurant’s customers in North Bandung so that the population was infinite. Thus the sampling technique used was quota sampling technique with a target of 100 respondents. The Data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis. This research is expected to be an input for providers of food service business, particularly restaurants for consideration in conducting marketing activities in order to increase the sales of food and drink. The results of this research that there is a significant influence of the e-word of mouth on restaurant’s customers purchase decision in North Bandung.

Abstract

Saung Angklung Udjo is one of the tourist destinations in Bandung city, which has a complete cultural workshop contains performances, handicraft centers of bamboo and bamboo musical instrument workshop. Tourist of Saung Angklung Udjo comes from outside West Java even abroad. The researcher did a pre-research to Indonesian tourists on their behavioral intention at Saung Angklung Udjo. The result indicated that there was low intention to visit the destination. Saung Angklung Udjo provides a different experience to tourists, which implementing a customer experience strategy that consists of the physical environment and social interaction. The purpose of this study was to obtain findings on customer experience as the independent variable which consists of the physical environment and the social interaction. Moreover, the behavioral intention as a dependent variable which consists of repurchase intention, premium price and word of mouth were studied. The type of research was a descriptive and verification, using a questionnaire as the instrument that distributed to 100 respondents through systematic random sampling technique. The data were analysed using a multiple regression techniques. The results indicated that there was a partial and simultaneous influence of customer experience for the tourist behavioral intention. The physical environment resembled in the musical instrument was perceived as a high value by the respondents. The hospitality of the employee as the social interaction dimension has also perceived well by the respondents.

Abstract

Local Guide has an important role in the development of tourism in the region. Hence, they should have good English skills in order to explain or provide information about the area. Besides, a local guide should also have insight or skill in tour guiding so that they can be able to guide tourists who visit the area. The location of this study is in Ohoi Ohoidertawun and Ohoi Ohoililir. This study is conducted from April to October 2017. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection technique is conducted by using questioner, interview and documentation. The results of this study which based on the distribution of participation and perception shows that Local Guide owned by local tourism ohoi is still 'less' in terms of communicating using English as an international language to communicate with foreign tourists. Thus, the Local Guide is still required to obtain English tourism training and guiding tour techniques.

Abstract

Bandung provides a variety of tourist attractions, such as culinary arts, theme parks, and shopping destination. The city is developed into a city of technology or technopolis which is located in the southern part region, called Gede Bage. Thus, to maintain the natural environment in the technology-based development area, the city also encouraging eco-tourism activities. Hence, the purpose of this study is to identify the concept of eco-tourism in accommodating the impact of technopolis development. The approach adopted in this study was comprehensive policy analysis approach that examined the norms imposed in developing the city and tourism. The norms consist of regulation, strategies, planning documents, law and other related policies. The results show that the existing facilities at technopolis area are potentials to be developed as eco-tourism attraction. Furthermore, competent human resources have played as an important role to succeed the Bandung Technopolis area as eco tourism attraction.

Abstract

One of the areas in Indonesia which has many tourism potentials is West Java. It has so attracted many touristsfor its beauty in natural and cultural resources. Bandung is the capital of West Java. It has so many tourists'attractions. One of the tourist’s attractions is “Jendela Alam," the educational tourism destination thatcombines the idea of farm tourism activities and recreation park. Most of the visitors are students or schoolsthat want to study about farming activities. However, there are many competitors that offered the sameproducts and services right now, so the management has a big effort to anticipate the competitive situation.One of the efforts is by developing the personal selling activities to encourage schools for visiting the place.Thus, this research studied the personal selling as the independent variable that consists of some sub variables,namely, building relationship, closing the deal, and building loyalty. Furthermore, the dependent variable isthe visiting decision. The method of the research is descriptive and verification research. The researchinstrument is the questionnaires that are distributed to 100 respondents. The data were analysed multipleregressions statistical analysis. The result shows that there was a significant influence between the personalselling activities of the visit decision to this tourists' attraction.
