Abstract

This study aims to develop digital communication module that can be used by the general public for professional communication contexts. The module has been developed using the Define, Design, Development, Dissemination (4D) model: Define includes determining a digital communication platform along with the goals and etiquette needed; Design includes making a blueprint for the module; Development includes the development of the module as a whole by involving expert judgment; then Dissemination includes dissemination/publication of the module. From the Define and Design stages, the initial design of the module is obtained. Expert assessment at the Development stage shows that the module design is useful for audiences and is appropriate for dissemination with minor improvements for further dissemination in a form of a book at the Dissemination stage.

Abstract

This study observed the effects of school plant variables on the performance of technical education students. The correlational survey research design was adopted for the study. The study sampled is Ambrose Alli University ( AAU), Ekpoma,. 50 technical education students in the department of vocational and technical education were used,  no sampling method was used as all the technical education students were used for the study. A researcher- designed  questionnaire titled ‘School Plant Variables  Questionnaire” (SPVQ) was used to collect data on relative organization and utilization of school plant facilities in the schools. The construct and content validity of the instrument was done by experts in research. The questions items were reviewed by the specialists and corrections were affected as suggested by them. After a test- retest treatment within two weeks interval, the scale recorded a cronbach alpha of 0.75. The study found out that  school plant facilities (Classrooms,  workshops, relaxation centres) were located considerable distance from where students resides thus requiring longer time for  students to move into or from them for teaching and learning. Also, a significant relationship was established between school plant organization and utilization on academic performance with F- value (0.36) critical F- value (0.19) at 05 level of significance. School plant organization and utilization on student attendance/ punctuality at lessons were found to be significantly related with F-value (0.7921) critical F- value (0.16) at .05 level of significance. The study concluded that school plant organization and utilization have a role to play on the effectiveness of instruction and the ultimate performance of students in their examinations. It thus recommended the construction of ‘Integrated Classrooms’ that can house almost all teaching and learning activities, with relaxation centres under one big roof and hostel accommodation to accommodates all students closer to the big roof building.

Abstract

Digital competence is crucial for teachers to utilize digital technology in the current era of learning. Especially for vocational high school teachers, face the challenge of designing effective learning strategies by harnessing digital technology to enhance students' vocational skills. The research aims to investigate vocational high school students' preferences regarding the use of digital technology by teachers and its influence on their vocational skills in VSAT (Vocational Satellite). While this topic has been rarely studied among vocational high school students, understanding students' perception of teachers' digital competence and its impact on their vocational skills can provide valuable insights into how digital technology usage can enhance vocational skills and better prepare students for success in the workforce. This study employs a quantitative method with descriptive and simple linear regression analysis. Data collection involved distributing questionnaires directly and online through Google Forms, which were voluntarily filled out by 123 students from three SMKs in the Bandung and Cimahi regions. The research findings reveal that students' preferences for teachers' use of digital technology fall under the good category, with an assessment interval of 78.2%. Additionally, a positive influence is found between vocational high school students' preferences for teachers' use of digital technology and their vocational skills in VSAT. The study is expected to provide valuable input for teachers and schools to implement teaching methods that support the development of students' vocational skills through optimal utilization of digital technology.

Abstract

Adolescence is a significant period starting with mental, emotional development and physical development; adolescents experience many problems due to unfulfilled levels of welfare subject. Because the level of youth welfare also measures the progress of a country, a country also has a responsibility to improve the welfare of its youth. For this reason, this study aims to find which adolescent welfare domain subjects need more attention. Research on youth welfare uses the bibliometric analysis method with the help of the VOS Viewer application system using the keyword "Wellbeing for youth" using the limitations of the type of journal articles in English that have been published in the last five years and obtained as many as 840 data with 114 keyword verifications. Used to visualize bibliometric maps. The results of research that has been conducted from 114 keywords, mental health, which is one of the subject domains of welfare, is a keyword that is often researched in the last five years, and the country with the highest level of research on adolescent interest is the United States and in followed by the United Kingdom and followed by several other developed countries.

Abstract

Entering the 21st centuries, women in engineering are still severely under-represented both in the field of education and the industrial sector. This under-representation can be seen in work environment, people behavior, entrance education and many more that are not yet exposed. Thus, this topic has become a concern and emergence for the public and academics and inspired them to conduct research in women in engineering. This research aims to provide a manual on emerging trends of women in engineering related studies using science mapping analysis method and investigate the current state of the art of women in engineering. Data collection for science mapping analysis using the Scopus database search without limitation on the year of publication regarding women in engineering. This research uses VOSViewer software as a tool to help visualize the data that had been downloaded from Scopus database. Results and discussions based on the research shows that the research publication about women in engineering for the last three decades continues to increase. Followed by the United States as the most contributed and cited country in scientific publication, then Layne P. and Bougue B. as the most contributed authors and widely quoted by other authors, for the most trustworthy sources there is Journal of Engineering Education, and based on the most quoted affiliation is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, then for the most discussed topic is STEM, intersectionality, and science based on co-occurrence analysis. Thus, the research can give a bigger picture of the development of women in engineering for future research

Abstract

The Student Competency Competition (LKS) is an annual the Director of Vocational School Development (DITPSMK) agenda that aims to get the best students from each region to compete nationally and represent Indonesia globally. Becoming the defending champion in the LKS competition takes work, and many factors determine the contestants' success. One factor that determines the defending champion's success in the LKS competition is the strategy and training program used in competing. Strategies and training programs are designed to prepare and ensure LKS participants are ready to participate in competitions and become champions. This research focuses on finding and presenting data on strategies and training programs for defending champions in LKS competitions. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research, and the research informants were contestants and supervisors who succeeded in becoming the defending champions in the LKS competition. Data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation was expected to answer the research focus. The results of the research found that the strategies carried out by the defending champions in the LKS competition were divided into four crucial components: school, family, stakeholder, and financial components. The management system and collaboration between the four components is the key to the success of the defending champion in the competition. The training programs include spiritual, physical, knowledge, and skills training. The training program is designed and supervised by supervisors and all productive teachers in the school. The synergy between strategy and training programs is the key to the success of the defending champion in LKS in competing.

Abstract

One of the awareness that has arisen in Indonesia in response to the challenges of Industry 4.0 is the awareness to be able to meet domestic logistics needs through improving and strengthening the national logistics system. This is mandated through the Center of Excellence, where Logistics is one of the areas of expertise included as a target for the Indonesian government. The socialization and demands of Industry and the World of Work (IDUKA) continue to develop and change so the Vocational High School (SMK)'s ability to fulfill them needs to be improved. The purpose of this research is to compile SMK E-modules that need to be aligned with the needs of IDUKA, especially in the field of logistics. This study used a mixed methods approach by conducting interviews (qualitative) and using questionnaires (quantitative) and studies using secondary data in the form of the SMK Logistics curriculum. The output of this research is in the form of the results of graduate training needed by IDUKA in the form of scientific articles published in indexed international journals for the dissemination of results at international scientific seminars, IPRs, and E-modules.
