Abstract

This study aims to determine the alternative efforts made by the library to strengthen the literacy of learning information and describe the challenges in the strengthening process. The method used in research is descriptive, where the data obtained using observation techniques, documentation interviews. Data analysis techniques in this study consist of data reduction, data encoding, and conclusion with data validity techniques using triangulation method. The result of this research is the use of Saretayes application as an alternative learning medium to strengthen information literacy in SMPN 1 Rejotangan as an effort made by the library in meeting the learning needs of students. In addition, there are also various challenges in the process of strengthening learning information literacy including internal and external factors. These external factors consist of a pandemic situation that resulted in the library performing semi-open services in meeting information needs, the memory capacity of the device owned by students is inadequate to download applications. While the internal factors consist of the lack of knowledge and understanding in depth related to the application and also the lack of number of companion books provided by the Saretayes application.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze service excellence which has a positive and significant partial effect on user satisfaction, to determine and analyze complaint handling which has a positive and significant partial effect on user satisfaction and to determine and analyze service excellence and complaint handling which have a positive and significant effect simultaneously. on user satisfaction at the Postgraduate Library of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU). The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study was 1,419 members of the Postgraduate Library. The sample in the study was 93 respondents using the Simple Random Sampling technique. The analytical method used is instrument test, classical assumption test, hypothesis test, coefficient of determination test and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed (1) Based on the Partial Test (t test) service excellence has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction at the Postgraduate Library of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU), (2) complaint handling has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction at the Postgraduate Library of Muhammadiyah University North Sumatra (UMSU), (3) Based on the Simultaneous Test (F Test) service excellence and complaint handling simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction at the Postgraduate Library of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU).

Abstract

The library is a strategic place in exploring history. This is because the source of information in the form of primary and secondary data is in the library. One of the libraries that contains historical information sources is Central Library of the Army History Service. Since its inauguration, few people have taken advantage of the historical collections in this library. Even though the collection in this library is very informative and there are many rare collections. For this reason, in this study, researchers examine the role of the Central Library of the Army History Service in increasing interest in historical literacy. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data used comes from primary data and secondary data. The results show that in realizing its role in increasing historical literacy, the library has provided a representative room with various historical literature on various subjects and languages that can be accessed for free. The library also carries out socialization activities in the form of making booklets, active on Instagram and its website. In addition, the library innovated by making the R.P Soewardi T Reading Corner facility. This facility received a positive response from its users which could increase interest in reading. Thus, the Central Library of the Army History Service always tries to optimize its role in providing knowledge about history in order to increase historical literacy in the community.Keywords: role of libraries, historical literacy, Central Library of The Army History Service

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the communication and performance of librarians at the library of UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The research method that the author uses is a qualitative method using a case study approach. The research subjects were Associate Expert Librarians, and one other librarian staff, as well as 5 library visitors. The object of research is the communication and performance of librarians. The data obtained through data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research, the authors found that communication and performance are interrelated and influence. Good communication triggers good librarian performance as well, and increases the satisfaction of library visitors. Communication and performance are interrelated with each other. Good and proper communication will bring an organization to be even better, without exception, libraries which involve a lot of communication on the subject. A librarian is required to be friendly and polite in serving visitors, which means that they must communicate properly and correctly. Good communication will increase the satisfaction of library visitors and affect the librarian's performance, either increasing or decreasing.

Abstract

This research was aimed to examine the effect of digital literacy on the information seeking behavior of Information Technology faculty students class of 2019, Satya Wacana Christian University. Data collection was carried out by distributing 100 questionnaires directly to 2019 batch of information technology faculty students as respondents. The research method used is quantitative. The method used is simple linear regression analysis, by testing the statistical hypothesis t-test. The results of the study show that digital literacy influences the information seeking behavior of students of the Faculty of Information Technology class of 2019 at Satya Wacana Christian University. The magnitude of the influence of digital literacy on information seeking behavior is 65.9 percent of information seeking behavior (Y) is influenced by digital literacy while the remaining 34.1% is influenced by other factors such as libraries, reading gardens, and others.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the results of the theses by students at the Faculty of Engineering from 2017 to 2021 and their suitability which includes: (1) the field of science that is being examined, (2) boring topics that are no longer in demand, and (3) Trends in the distribution of topics growing based on the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) standard. This is a quantitative and qualitative research carried out to determine the distribution of thesis topics as the basis for developing the roadmap of each study program at the Faculty of Engineering, the State University of Medan. Data were collected from the repository and tabulated data tabulations of the summary of results. The results indicate that the number of undergraduate thesis at the Faculty of Engineering, the State University of Medan from 2017 to 2021 is 1,987 titles. The mapping of fields of science based on DDC showed the topics of each study program in the Faculty of Engineering. Based on the data, the in-demand topics for each study program are Construction of Buildings; Care of hair, face, skin, nails; Electronics; Motor Land Vehicles, Cycles (Automotive Engineering); Technical Drawing; Cooking; Pattern Design and Patternmaking; Handicrafts Structural Engineering and Underground Construction; Cutting, Disassembling, Sawing Tools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tren penelitian mengenai Climate Change atau perubahan iklim. Penelitian ini secara garis besar membahas mengenai perkembangan atau tren dan relevansi publikasi ilmiah yang membahas mengenai perubahan iklim (Climate Change) di seluruh mancanegara yang memiliki fokus subjek pada ilmu sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis menggunakan analisis bibliometrik dengan tahapan flowchart. Dalam proses olah data menggunakan bantuan dari VOSViewer dan Biblioshiny. Pencarian data publikasi dilakukan pada website Scopus dengan memperhatikan query yang ditentukan. Hasil dokumen mencapai 8,900 publikasi yang kemudian diekspor dalam bentuk RIS dan BibTex.  Publikasi terkait Climate Change dari tahun ke tahun mengalami peningkatan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyajikan penulis hingga afiliator yang paling progresif dalam penerbitan jurnal, juga nama-nama jurnal yang paling banyak menerbitkan publikasi terkait topik. Selain itu juga menunjukkan hubungan antar negara terkait publikasi. Dengan diketahui tren dalam publikasi jurnal artikel mengenai topik perubahan iklim (Climate Change) pada Scopus, diharapkan dengan adanya pemetaan yang dilakukan peneliti dapat membantu memberikan informasi pada institusi yang memiliki fokus pada publikasi terkait topik perubahan iklim.

Abstract

The Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya (UNUSA) book distribution service has seen a reduction as a result of library access, which was running smoothly during the Covid-19 prevalent period. This service, one of the best offered by the UNUSA library, is still provided, nonetheless. The purpose of this study is to learn how to use UNUSA's book delivery service. Descriptive qualitative research is used in this kind of study. Informants, research locations, and supporting documentation served as data sources. We used observation, documentation, and interviewing as our data collection methods. According to research conducted at the UNUSA library, books were borrowed and returned using the book delivery service by filling out information on a Google Form and paying with COD payment system. The performance of librarians shows a responsive, solutional, informative, and fast attitude in responding to requests for delivery of collections with delivery times of one day to three days with a shipping cost range of Rp.7000 – Rp.21000 depending on the distance of delivery and the delivery service used. Satisfaction with using the book delivery service shows the ease of users in accessing books so that they save more time and effort. However, access to book delivery services is quite difficult and users lack knowledge of the existence of these services, so it is necessary to evaluate book delivery services.Keywords: Library, Book delivery service, Covid-19 endemic, Nahdlatul Ulama University students in Surabaya

Abstract

Perpustakaan merupakan tempat untuk menimba ilmu dari berbagai koleksi dan bahan pustaka yang dimiliki. Dalam mengelola perpustakaan terdapat banyak tantangan dan untuk memanfaatkan perpustakaan secara maksimal, pustakawan harus dapat mengetahui apa saja yang mempengaruhi minat berkunjung ke perpustakaan, baik pengaruh eksternal maupun pengaruh internal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengambil judul “Pengaruh Bahan Pustaka Terhadap Minat Berkunjung ke Perpustakaan Tunas Muda di SMP Stella Matutina Salatiga”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh bahan pustaka terhadap minat berkunjung ke perpustakaan SMP Stella Matutina Salatiga. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan penelitian studi kasus yang menitikberatkan pada pemahaman penyebab suatu fenomena, dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi dalam mengumpulkan data dari para informan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah bahan pustaka dapat mempengaruhi minat berkunjung karena bahan pustaka merupakan sumber ilmu yang dimiliki oleh perpustakaan. Selain itu, ada pengaruh lain seperti pengaruh internal dan eksternal yang ada di sekitar.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of static archive preservation facilitation at the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This research aims to find out and analyze how the facilitation of static archive preservation is implemented and the obstacles in the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The subjects in this research are young archivists and advanced archivists, while the object of this research is the implementation of static archive preservation facilitation at the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The data sources in this research are primary data obtained through interviews with informants and secondary data obtained through literature reviews. The collection techniques used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of this research show that the implementation of preservation facilitation at the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta includes several stages, namely sorting, coding, checking ink for cartographic archives, making deacidification fluid, applying Methyl Cellulose glue, drying archives, pressing archives, and storing archives. However, there are still several obstacles, namely the condition of the archives, which are damaged or parts of the archives are incomplete; limited human resources, which affect the division of employee work; limited facilities and infrastructure in the form of drying places; and budget limitations, which cause the number of archives to be preserved to be limited.
