Abstract

Callyspongia sp. is one type of sea sponge that produces secondary metabolites in the form of steroids, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids which can be used as antibacterial agents. This reseach aims to determine whether or not there is an inhibitory power of sea sponge extract Callyspongia sp. on the growth of bacterial isolates on Eucheuma cottonii seaweed that is infected by ice-ice disease. This type of research is an experimental laboratory. Extract of Callyspongia sp. is the result of Callyspongia sp. extraction which has been dried and then macerated using a polar ethanol solvent. Inhibition test with the modified Kirby-Bauer method used wells to measure the zone of inhibition formed by the extract of the Callyspongia sp. The test was carried out to observe the presence or absence of an inhibition zone of Callyspongia sp. extract against bacterial isolates (Isolates I, II and III) that is infected by seaweed that is infected by ice-ice disease after 24 hours of incubation. The results showed that an inhibition zone was formed in bacterial isolates. Treatment with extracts of Callyspongia sp. shows the diameter of the highest inhibition zone that is 16.67 mm which is classified as a strong inhibitory force, so that Callysponia sp. extract has the potential in overcoming ice-ice in Eucheuma cottonii seaweed.

Abstract

The problem of disposable diaper waste is a serious problem that challenges the environment. Therefore, researchers are trying to use diaper waste in agriculture. Literature studies have been carried out as a form of scientific articles. The aim of this literature review are determine the absorption ability of Super Absorbent Polymers (SAP) on the effect of pH, temperature, salinity and soil moisture with the addition of Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP). This study was expected to increase knowledge about Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) and its application related to the agricultural sector. From the results of the literature study, it was concluded that the swelling ability of the SAP reached the optimum conditions at pH 6.5 and 9, while the influence of temperature on the swelling ability of the SAP occurred at temperatures of 25oC, 50oC and 75oC. Swelling capacity conditions using saline solution showed a decrease in swelling capacity as the concentration of the salt solution increased. Soil moisture by adding super absorbent polymer showed significant results, which was 3 times higher than without SAP, i.e. moisture could last up to 18 days from the first day of watering but not for all types of plants.

Abstract

Given the existence of plastic waste in the environment is very dangerous, therefore it is necessary to conduct research to handle it. The development of technology for plastic processing to produce something useful continues to be carried out by various groups, ranging from scientists, academics, and students. One of them is the utilization of plastic waste into fuel oil (BBM) using the pyrolysis technique which will be installed to process plastic waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the fuel oil from processing plastic waste and compare the fuel with kerosene and diesel oil with the parameters of density, burning time and water temperature when heating using the three fuel oils. The research method used is data collection techniques including pre-treatment, the process to determine the density of each fuel sample, the process of burning time, temperature during heating, analysis of the density of pyrolysis oil, kerosene and diesel fuel by measuring the volume and the mass of each sample. Comparison of the quality of Fuel Burning Time, namely Oil from recycled plastics 4.01 minutes, Diesel Oil 4.45 minutes, and Kerosene 3.02 minutes. Comparison of the quality of water temperature with a volume of 20 ml of water and a heating time of 5 minutes, it is found that recycled plastic oil is 0.77oC, diesel oil is 0.73oC, kerosene is 0.84oC. plastic waste processing is under kerosene but above diesel oil based on density indicators, burning time, water temperature when heating.

Abstract

We study the notion of the Killing form for Frobenius Lie algebras of dimension . The Killing form is a symmetric bilinear form on a finite dimensional Lie algebra over a field defined by where is denoted the trace and is an adjoint representation of . A Lie algebras is said to be semisimple if it has the nondegenerate Killing form. The research aims to consider the criterion for semisimplicity of Frobenius Lie algebras of dimension by using the Killing form. The results show that each Frobenius Lie algebra of dimension and is not semisimple since the the Killing form is degenerate or in other words, a determinant of a representation matrix of the Killing form is equal to zero. For the future research, it is still an open problem to consider the general formulas of the Killing form for higher dimensional Frobenius Lie algebra whether degenerate or nondegenerate such that the semisimplicity of a Lie algebra can be considered. We conjecture that each finite dimensional real Frobenius Lie algebra is not semisimple.

Abstract

The distance learning process is something new for students, so there needs to be an adaptation for students so that they can learn well and can absorb the material given well. Therefore, this study will analyze the percentage of interest level and motivation to learn mathematics of mathematics education study program students at Almuslim University during the Covid 19 pandemic. The method used is a case study qualitative research with a population of all students of the Almuslim University mathematics education program. Data collection techniques are using a questionnaire of student interest and learning motivation and interviews. The results obtained were that the average interest and motivation of students in taking online lectures was 66.8%. Then the average student learning outcomes during online learning was 82.36%, this indicates that the learning outcomes of the Al-Muslim University Mathematics Education Study Program students were in a good category. So it can be concluded that if the students' interest and motivation are good, it will also increase the learning outcomes obtained. The relationship between online learning and student learning interest and motivation shows a strong relationship, which is 66.1%. In addition, the relationship that the online learning process has with student interest and learning motivation shows a positive relationship, which means that if the online learning process increases better, student interest and learning motivation will also increase.

Abstract

One of the skills needed in the 21st century is scientific literacy. However, the existing DKL as practicum support is not optimal to be able to improve students' scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the quality of DKL on Spermatophyta material used to support practicum in schools, using laboratory activity analysis instruments covering aspects of curriculum relevance, competence, and knowledge construction. This research method is descriptive research. The sampling technique was carried out purposively, where the samples of DKL analyzed came from two DKL, namely DKL Biology class X spermatophyta material based on the 2013 Curriculum and the Education Unit Level Curriculum (KTSP). Furthermore, a trial was conducted on one of the DKL. The findings from the analysis and trials became the basis for the reconstruction of Spermatophyta DKL. The results of the research show that the existing DKL still has not developed higher-order thinking skills, and there are still few concepts formed. The results of the reconstruction of DKL through practical instructions to be more effective and representative according to the demands of the applicable KD and develop science process skills.

Abstract

Washbasin needs to be provided in a place that is generally visited by people. It is necessary to design an automatic hand washing machine to reduce direct contact. This study aims to design and manufacture a simple automatic hand washing device, using a microcontroller and equipped with sensors to regulate the faucets and also regulate the release of the soap dish. This research has 3 stages. The first stage of planning includes the selection of actuators, sensors, and microcontrollers. Second, the manufacture of tools in the form of mechanical manufacture, electrical circuits, and programming. The final stage is testing, responding to tools that will function properly, and monitoring those that still need to be developed. Based on the research, the Automatic Hand Washing Station design tool uses a frame in the form of steel angles with holes SA75 3.75 x 3.75 with binders in the form of Hex Bolt and Nut M10, Arduino Uno R3 Microcontroller, Relay Module, Buck Converter, 2 Infrared Sensors, 5 LEDs, the actuators used are Single pump DC 12V 4.5A, servo motor 9.4 kgf.cm, reservoir with a capacity of 19 liters, and Power Adapter 12V 5A. The electronic system affects the performance of the actuator which results in the less functioning of the actuator itself. This connected obstacle is caused by the condition of the jumper cables that accumulate and also the less than the optimal output power. The programming system uses the Arduino IDE and can run well in the simulation tool process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the levels of metal content contained in refill drinking water circulating in the city of Batam. To achieve this goal, research activities were carried out 2 times sampling at 6 refill drinking water depots in Batam City. The research was conducted at the chemical laboratory of the University of Riau Islands and analysis of metal contamination was carried out by analysts using the ICP-MS method at the Indonesian Surveyor Laboratory in Batam using the services of an analyst. The methods used in this study include descriptive methods to determine sampling techniques, and laboratory examinations. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the levels of Cu, Cd, and Pb metals in the 6 refill drinking water depots are below the standard that has been set based on SNI and Minister of Health regulations No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010. So that the refill drinking water is fit for consumption.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and compare the concentration of Pb in Fuji apples from traditional markets and supermarkets. Samples were obtained from the outer Demangan market, the outside and inside Kranggan market, Superindo and Mirota Kampus. Samples were extracted using aqua regia HCl: HNO3 (3:1, v/v). Analysis of Pb concentration using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Data processing using SPSS with ANOVA test to determine the ratio of Pb concentration from each location. The average concentration of Pb in Fuji apple samples was obtained from the Demangan outside market (0.213 mg/kg), Kranggan outside market (0.208 mg/kg), Kranggan inside market (0.162 mg/kg), Superindo (0.147 mg/kg) and Mirota Campus (0.168 mg/kg). Based on the BPOM quality standard (2018), the concentration of lead in the outer Demangan market and the outside Kranggan market has passed the quality standard. As for the quality standard of SNI (2009) all concentrations are still within safe limits. So from the results of this study it can be said that the sales location is important to the lead content in Fuji apples, especially those sold near the highway, this is indicated by the highest lead concentration sourced from open sales locations and close to the highway, that is Kranggan outside market and the Demangan outside market. The treatment of washing fuji apples also showed a decrease in lead levels in fuji apples.

Abstract

The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Collection of primary data and secondary data. Analysis with data reduction, presentation, conclusion and verification. Research at SMA Yadika 11, SMK 4 and SMA 7 Bekasi. The results of the analysis, 1) 95% of the online learning process is still from curriculum 13, the school facilitates teachers. However, when the implementation was not in line with expectations, this was because the material provided was not prepared with the standard of the initial ability of students, the books provided were not strong enough to build concepts, educators had difficulty writing symbols, student responses to professional competence were 79%, 70% of participants students assess that teachers do not have teaching materials and modules used as learning aids, observing 4 teacher materials have difficulty explaining related to writing symbols and proof. 2) The form of readiness by providing textbooks as the main source, however, books with cognitive dimensions. Lots and not hot books, this is not in line with curriculum 13. 3) The assessment method is prepared by the teacher, however, the assessment method is not given and the material tested is more difficult than what is taught and 60% disagrees with the teacher's assessment method.
