Abstract

Callyspongia sp. is one type of sea sponge that produces secondary metabolites in the form of steroids, alkaloids, flavonoids, and terpenoids which can be used as antibacterial agents. This reseach aims to determine whether or not there is an inhibitory power of sea sponge extract Callyspongia sp. on the growth of bacterial isolates on Eucheuma cottonii seaweed that is infected by ice-ice disease. This type of research is an experimental laboratory. Extract of Callyspongia sp. is the result of Callyspongia sp. extraction which has been dried and then macerated using a polar ethanol solvent. Inhibition test with the modified Kirby-Bauer method used wells to measure the zone of inhibition formed by the extract of the Callyspongia sp. The test was carried out to observe the presence or absence of an inhibition zone of Callyspongia sp. extract against bacterial isolates (Isolates I, II and III) that is infected by seaweed that is infected by ice-ice disease after 24 hours of incubation. The results showed that an inhibition zone was formed in bacterial isolates. Treatment with extracts of Callyspongia sp. shows the diameter of the highest inhibition zone that is 16.67 mm which is classified as a strong inhibitory force, so that Callysponia sp. extract has the potential in overcoming ice-ice in Eucheuma cottonii seaweed.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSetiap Individu, khususnya orang muda dituntut untuk mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik dan mampu memiliki jiwa leadership guna membangun kehidupannya baik secara pribadi, maupun dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat. Jiwa kepemimpinan dan kemampuan seseorang dalam berbicara merupakan bagian dari komunikasi yang efektif, yaitu mampu merangkul dan merumuskan keputusan untuk mencapai musyawarah yang baik, serta menyampaikan pesan kepada khalayak dengan cara yang tepat dan menarik perhatian. Namun pada kenyataannya, pada Orang Muda yang tergabung dalam komunitas AMC Pu’urere Ende masih belum maksimal dalam memimpin suatu kegiatan serta berbicara didepan umum. Hal ini mendorong tim untuk melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan kepemimpinan dan public speaking pada Komunitas orang muda di AMC Pu’urere Ende. Tujuan dari program ini adalah untuk membantu orang muda sehingga dapat meningkatkan jiwa kepemimpinan dan rasa percaya diri saat berbicara. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ceramah, dialog aktif, diskusi dan rencana tindak lanjut yang digunakan sebagai kegaiatn inti yang ingin dicapai dalam pengabdian ini. Hasil yang didapat dari program ini adalah mampunya Orang Muda AMC Pu’urere dalam mempimpin kegiatan, dari tahap persiapan hingga pelaksanaan, dapat menyusun agenda program tertentu dengan baik dan benar sesuai dengan kebutuhannya, serta memiliki kemampuan public speaking yang memadai. Kata kunci: orang muda; kepemimpinan; public speaking. ABSTRACTEvery individual, especially youth people, are required to be able to communicate well and be able to have a leadership spirit, to build his life both personally and in social life. Leadership spirit and one's ability to speak are part of effective communication, namely being able to embrace and formulate decisions to achieve good deliberation, as well as convey messages to audiences in an appropriate and attention-grabbing manner. But in reality, youth who are members of the AMC Pu’urere Ende community are still not optimal in leading activity and speaking in public. This encourages the team to conduct training and mentoring in leadership and public speaking for the youth community at AMC Pu’urere Ende. This program aims to help youth people to improve their leadership spirit and self-confidence when speaking. The methods used in this service activity are lectures, active dialogue, discussions and follow-up plans which are used as the core activities to be achieved in this service. The results obtained from this program are the ability of AMC Pu’urere Youth People in leading activities, from the preparation stage to implementation, being able to arrange certain program agendas properly and correctly according to their needs and having adequate public speaking skills. Keywords: youth people; leadership; public speaking.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an acid-base device that integrates ARCS motivation strategies in problem-solving learning models of scientific attitudes and critical thinking skills of students. The development of this device uses a 4-D model, but in this study, due to the limited time, the development of the device only reached the development stage and was tested on Biology Education Study Program students in semester 2 with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used are validation, tests, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS and the Likert scale. The results showed the validity of the Semester Lesson Plan obtained a rcount of 0.690, valid category. Student Worksheet obtained rcount value of 0.748 valid categories. Learning Outcomes Test obtained, rcount of 0.701, with a valid category. The percentage of Lesson Plan implementation is on a scale of 4 with a good category. The results of the N-Gain Score test in the productive class is 78.58% effective category while the N-Gain Score in the trial class is 70.14% and is included in the quite effective category. The data shows that learning using ARCS motivation strategies in problem-solving learning models can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran interaktif merupakan salah satu aspek yang mendukung terjadinya proses pembelajaran yang menarik dan menyenangkan. Classpoint merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang dapat memenuhi aspek tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif Classpoint pada kegiatan perkuliahan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dekriptif dengan menggunakan angket. Sebanyak 19 orang mahasiswa semester IV pada program studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Flores yang mengikuti mata kuliah Zoologi Invertebrata diberikan angket yang berisi 16 butir pernyataan yang mewakili aspek motivasi, kegunaan, dan aspek kognitif serta psikomotorik. Data mahasiswa yang terkumpul dipersentasikan dengan menggunakan persentase kriteria skor angket persepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memberikan respons positif terhadap media pembelajaran interaktif Classpoint dengan kriteria sangat setuju atau rentang persentase respons 73,68% sampai 93,68%. Tanggapan positif yang diberikan terhadap media Classpoint ini dikarenakan adanya beberapa fitur menarik yang medukung fungsi Classpoint sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Implikasi dari penelitian ini ialah media interaktif Classpoint dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu referensi media belajar di kelas, khusus dalam meningkatkan motivasi dan keaktifan mahasiswa dalam belajar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the scientific literacy profile of students in the mathematics education study program in chemistry subjects. The research method is descriptive quantitative research, with the research subject being the second semester students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at the University of Flores in 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 29 peoples. The data resource from the questionnaires, which was based on the aspect of competence. Furthermore, the scientific literacy student competency test questions were tested for validity and reliability, then continued with a final score test to interpret descriptively student learning outcomes. The results of the scientific literacy profile of prospective teachers mathematics at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education,  Flores University consist of 5 indicators, namely, identifying and explaining scientific phenomena, getting a score of 75.45, which is good category;  evaluating and designing scientific questions, getting score of 55.75, which is reasonable category; interpreting data and evidence scientifically, getting a score of 62.25 which is reasonable category; creating a good graph, getting a score of 57.55 which is reasonable category; problem-solving skills, getting a score of 60.25 which is reasonable category; understanding and interpreting data, getting a score of 45.00 which is very much less category; and the ability to draw conclusions, getting a score of 77.00 which is good category. These results performed that scientific literacy skills of students are reasonable category.

Abstract

Begonia kelimutuensis is an endemic species of Kelimutu National Park, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Since it was designated as an endemic plant, this species has become one of the attractions for visitors to the Kelimutu National Park. However, research studies on this species are not widely known, so further research is needed. This study aims to determine the structure of the vegetation, the composition of plant species in the habitat of Begonia kelimutuensis and the Important Value Index (INP). The research method used is the plotted line method, with 20m x 20m plots used to collect tree species data, 10m x 10m plots used to collect pole type data, 5m x 5m sample plots used to collect sapling type data, and sample plots The size of 2m x 2m was used to collect data on the type of seedling with a distance between plots of 20m, which was placed along the observation path. Data analysis was carried out using the vegetation analysis method that calculates frequency, density, dominance, relative frequency, relative density, relative dominance, and Important Value Index (INP). The results showed that the composition of tree species in this area consisted of 44 species with a vegetation structure consisting of trees, poles, saplings and seedlings. The highest INP at the seedling level was Suregada sp. by 72.33%; at the sapling level is Suregada sp. by 83.86%; at the pole level is Chyathea contaminans of 79.15%; and at the tree level is Schfflera lucida by 58, 33%.

Abstract

Berdasarkan temuan di kelas VII SMPS Taruna Desa Dile diperoleh informasi bahwa dalam pembelajaran IPA khususnya pada bidang kajian biologi, peserta didik mengalami kesulitan untuk mengamati dan menganalisis materi klasifikasi makluk hidup. Proses belajar mengajar di kelas hanya menggunakan metode ceramah dan guru sebagai satu-satunya sumber belajar tanpa adanya media mengakibatkan komunikasi antara guru dan peserta didik tidak berjalan dengan lancar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media audiovisual berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup pada peserta didik kelas VII SMPS Taruna Desa Dile tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one group pretest-postest design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 36 orang. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik sederhana. Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan media audiovisual pada materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik SMPS Taruna Desa Dile. Hal ini dilihat dari adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik melalui teknik observasi dari 73% dengan kriteria cukup termotivasi meningkat menjadi 90% dengan kriteria sangat termotivasi. Hal ini juga didukung oleh analisis data angket peserta didik dimana terjadi peningkatan motivasi belajar dari nilai rata-rata 65% berkategori kurang termotivasi menjadi 89% dengan kategori sangat termotivasi.

Abstract

The world is being hit by a new variant of Covid-19, namely Omicron. The Omicron variant is easily dispersed from the previous variant. To prevent transmission of this variant, people need to increase their body's resistance by consuming foods and drinks rich in antioxidants. Moringa leaf tea can be an alternative drink rich in antioxidants to increase endurance and prevent the speed of transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19. This study analyzes the presence or absence of secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in fresh and dry moringa tea. Secondary metabolite compounds were tested using phytochemical screening, which included testing for alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolics, saponins, tannins, steroids, terpenoids, and glycosides, while for antioxidant activity, the DPPH method was used. Based on the test results, the two types of tea did not have antioxidant activity because the IC50 value was more than 250 ppm, namely 868.72 ppm for fresh moringa tea and 2851.67 ppm for dry moringa tea. However, when compared between fresh and dry moringa tea, both have an IC50 value of 1:3 ratio, where the IC50 value of fresh moringa tea is three times lower than that of dried moringa tea. In addition, the results of the phytochemical screening of the two types of tea were positive for several secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi menjadi salah satu unsur penting yang perlu dikuasai oleh guru maupun pengajar untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran pada era saat ini. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu untuk mengenalkan dan melatih para guru dalam menguasai pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yaitu dengan aplikasi Canva. Pelatihan ini diberikan kepada 12 guru SMP Swasta Islam Muthmainnah. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan yaitu dengan pengarahan, diskusi dan tanya jawab, praktik langsung di lapangan serta pendampingan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa guru memahami penggunaan Canva dan mampu mempraktikan secara langsung pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis Canva yang kemudian dapat diaplikasikan kepada beberapa siswa

Abstract

Begonia kelimutuensis merupakan tumbuhan berbunga endemik yang hanya ditemukan di Pulau Flores, khususnya di Taman Nasional Kelimutu, Kabupaten Ende, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Keunikan tanaman ini terletak pada warna bunganya yang putih mencolok serta bentuk mahkota yang menarik, sehingga berpotensi menjadi daya tarik wisata alam. Namun, studi mengenai ekologi dan pola penyebarannya masih sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola sebaran spasial populasi B. kelimutuensis di kawasan Arboretum Taman Nasional Kelimutu, yang termasuk dalam zona pemanfaatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan membuat satu jalur transek sepanjang 340 meter, terdiri dari sembilan plot berukuran 20 × 20 meter, dengan jarak antarplot 20 meter. Setiap individu yang ditemukan dicatat posisi koordinatnya menggunakan GPS. Analisis pola sebaran dilakukan dengan Indeks Dispersion Morisita (Ip), dan peta distribusi dibuat menggunakan perangkat lunak ArcGIS 10.1. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa B. kelimutuensis memiliki pola sebaran mengelompok, dengan nilai Ip sebesar 0,03. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa spesies tersebut cenderung tumbuh dalam kelompok-kelompok, yang kemungkinan dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan mikro atau interaksi antarindividu.
