Abstract

Xylanase is one type of enzyme that has an important role in the field of industry. One way that can be done to improve the thermostability of an enzyme is by protein engineering . Mutation of these proteins can be done by studying the structure of proteins through molecular dynamics simulation approach. In this research, thermal stability analysis on the structure of Aspergilus niger Wild Type xylase (AnX) was performed. This study aims to study the thermal stability characteristic of Aspergilus niger xylanase enzyme through molecular dynamics simulation approach. Molecular dynamics simulations of AnX were performed using NAMD (Not Just Another Molecular Dynamic) software at at a temperature of 300-500 K. This study focused on studying the thermal stability characteristic of the enzymes to obtain information on residues that are responsible for the characteristic. Selection of residues to be mutated, based on the results of Hydrophobic Interactions. Based on the analysis results, the design of mutant Xylanase enzyme that is more thermostable than the Wild Type Xilanase Enzyme, so it can provide suggestions a more stable Xilanase mutation design that can be implemented into wet experiments to genetically engineer the Aspergilus niger xylanase enzyme. Xylanase Aspergillus niger enzyme is unfolded at 500 K at 9.5 ns. The residues responsible for the thermal stability of Xilanase Aspergilus niger enzyme based on hydrophobic interaction analysis are Alanine at residue 60. This residue is in segment / chain 3. The best mutant that can increase thermal stability is indicated by the Alanin 60 residue replaced with Methionin. The mutant Alanin 60 residue that replaced with a methionine mutant obtained ΔΔGsolv value of -21.10345. Thus the Ala60Met mutant is the most stable mutant supposed to increase thermal stability of Aspergillus niger Xilanase Enzyme. Keywords : enzyme, thermostability, mutation, molecular dynamics

Abstract

Differential equations are mathematical equations for functions of one or more variables, which relate the value of the function itself and its derivatives in different order. As a prospective teacher, students are required to master the cognitive domain of differential equations. Based on the observations made where tested the initial knowledge of students in the course of differential equations and found 80% of students are not biased deserve to be said to pass. Therefore, this research is aimed at 1. Developing instructional of differential equations based on brown model and cooperative learning model as a tool in learning process; 2. Testing the effectiveness of teaching materials of developed differential equations; 3.Test whether there is a good improvement in learning outcomes in the teaching and learning process using the teaching aid tool. The method used in this research is development research. From this result Researchers believe that in the course of teaching materials is very effective tool process of course in the classroom. Abstract

The achievement of the graduates profile which is the goal of Mathematics Education majors Teachers College UPH is to prepare teacher candidates who have the character, calling, and competence also the graduates can role as a Mathematics teacher know the concept of knowledge. However, in the achievement of the graduates profile has not been satisfactory, because results of learning are low in some mathematics courses, especially in Calculus II course. Based on the problem, major Teachers College do a structured academic activity that is response learning. The research method used is control group posttest only design. The sample of the research are the students of Mathematics Education major that take the Calculus II course in the academic year 2015/2016 as the control group and who take the Calculus II course in the academic year 2016/2017 as the experimental group. The improvement of this reponse learning result is seen from t-test analysis, obtained the decision of hypothesis test is exist significant difference between the control class and the experimental class. Abstract

An x-ray experiments require sophisticated and advanced apparatus which is very expensive resulting some laboratories in universities have not been able to accommodate these stuffs. In fact, a simple and homemade X-ray apparatus may be designed easily and it is quite cheap even the rill x-ray apparatus that equipped by many vendors. Basically, x-ray is generated from x-ray tube following two mechanisms which are characteristics x-ray and Bremstrahlung x-ray. In this study, we designed a simple x-ray apparatus which may generate Bremstrahlung x-ray. The designed simple x-ray apparatus consists of 2x2A rectifier vacuum tube and 25 kV high voltage power supply. For radiation protection and dosimetry, we conducted the experiment in a lead-shielded bunker and used Unfors Raysafe X2 as well as Digilert 100 surveymeter. We measured background radiation dose of 0,49 μGy/h. Abstract

In this research, There were 9 images for training data and 26 images for test data. This image processing studied first carried out a cropping process on training data images. Then Pre-processing was also done to eliminated noise using the Salt and Pepper Noise method. After that, the RGB image results obtained were converted to grayscale images. Then the color segmentation process was based on the mean and standard deviation values. The edge detection process was then carried out using the sobel edge detection method and the results showed visible edge thickening on plasmodium. Through the color segmentation process, the percentage of plasmodium in the blood was <9%. In the process of identifying 26 test image data, 20 successful images and 6 images were declared failed to be identified. So the percentage of success of color segmentation in identification was 76.9% for 26 input data. Keywords : Sobel edge detection,color segmentation, plasmodium, image processing.

Abstract

Socializations are generally conducted to improve the societies’ knowledge, learning skill simultaneously with character building and empowerment by illuminating the topics which are relevant to their needs (Ibrahim, Thomas and Fine, 2003; van den Ban and Hawkins, 1999). Mardikanto (1987) stated that socialization can increase the society’s participation on development, especially on chemistry awareness community development. Chemistry is a branch of science which studies about composition, structure, properties and change of matter. Chemistry is generally known as abstract science so that result the chemo-phobia and cause lower chemistry learning interest, especially on students (Leong Suk Yee and Lay Yoon, 2014). This research studies about the advantages of chemistry socialization toward the society in developing affective chemistry domain on students and community. This research quantitatively analyzes 159 data which are purposive randomly gathered from 159 participants (junior and high school students, youth organization, and students of equivalency school). The results show that socialization toward the society develops chemistry affective domain on students reaches 40% - 71% by classifying the relevant examples from daily life, explaining the topic and good responding in discussion, motivating the society and developing the arguments as the conclusion. The achievement of chemistry affective domain on society reaches 75% by accepting the topics of socialization in a good manner, following the suggestions and directions during the socialization, arranging some questions about the topic and interesting on advantages of socialization. The socialization toward the society can be the alternative of learning method to develop the chemistry affective domain. Keywords: education; chemistry affective domain; chemophobia.

Abstract

Schools are places where the teaching and learning process is carried out should provide a conducive atmosphere so that educational goals are expected to be achieved. One of the main factor that is quite disturbing when the learning process takes place is the noise. The school where this research is located is one of the schools that is close to the noise source. The location of this research is 34 MTs in Jakarta which is located at a radius of 0.34 km from the runway of Halim Perdanakusuma airport. This research uses descriptive analysis method. Sound noise level data collection is done by using a sound level meter. Data is measured by a momentary sound pressure level of 5 minutes, or Leq (5 minutes) for each measurement point. The noise level at 34 MTs Jakarta in five measurement points respectively were 84.87 dB, 79.60 dB, 81.73 dB, 81.00 dB and 85.20 dB. The highest noise level is at point 5 which is the side facing the runway at Halim Perdanakusuma airport. The average noise level is 83.85 dB. This value is in the very noisy category according to Kep-48 MNLH / 11/1996. From the results of questionnaire analysis, 46.1% of respondents stated that the school was noisy, then 36.2% of students stated that the noisy conditions disrupted communication while carrying out the learning process in the classroom and 36.9% of respondents stated that noise from Halim Perdanakusuma airport activities disturbed their concentration in the teaching and learning process in the classroom Keywords: noise level, school, sound level meter, learning process

Abstract

Waste is one of the major problems in Indonesia. Waste continues to increase every year. The two major contributors of waste are plastic and metal processed waste. The two kinds of waste are undegradable. Therefore, the most appropriate solution in handling these kinds of waste is to recycling or converting. One of the efforts that can be made to waste aluminum is beverage packaging, namely by turning it into alum. Alum is commonly used as a water purifier, especially water containing calcium and magnesium metals which are often called hard water. The method used is gravimetric methods. Based on research data, alum can absorb calcium metal with an effectiveness level of 42.25% and magnesium metal with an effectiveness level of 64.12%. Abstract

Homegarden is polyculture garden which located close to house. Due to various plants are possible planted at homegarden so that becoming conservation site is one of the homegarden roles. The homegarden sustainability threat especially at West Kaliurang Village is transition of land functions which has impact in decreasing homegarden plants diversity. This study aims to reveal homegarden plants composition at West Kaliurang and its correlation to homegarden area. Secondly is to explain plant use based on communitty knowledge and to know source of plant acquisition also the origin of plant floristic region. Ethnobotanical data was collected by freelisting interview method that held to common respondent whose homegarde at West Kaliurang. Undentified plants were made herbarium and then identified at laboratory. The study result showed that homegarden plant diversity at West Kaliurang consists of 227 species, 40 Kultivar, and 4 varieties which classified to 80 families. Mostly the homegarden plants found as herb (113 species), shurb (50 species), and tree (203 species). Abstract

This research is aims to know about the improvement of chemistry learning outcomes of grade X on electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions academic year 2018/2019 through learning experimental method. This research is a class action research couduct in three cycles. The subject of this research is all students of grade X Darussalam Tangerang Selatan of 26 students. Data collection techniques in this research are test score of critical thinking skills. The results of the research that the application of learning experimental method can improve students’ critical thinking skills on topics electrolyte and non electrolyte. Based on the results of the first cycle, the second and the third cycle always increase. The average critical thinking ability in fisrt cycle on is 34,61%. In the second cycle the increase in students’ critical thinking skills increased to 73,07% and completeness in the third cycle. The results of this class action research are the learning experimental method can improve students’ critical thinking skills of students in grade X Darussalam Tangerang Selatan on the electrolyle and non electrolyte solutions.
