Abstract

Setiap siswa akan memiliki pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap yang sesuai dengan standart pendidikan nasional. Hal ini dapat terjadi apabila seorang guru memiliki kemampuan dalam mendesain dan memodifikasi suatu model pembelajaran yang baik, sehingga berdampak pada keberhasilan peningkatan mutu dan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) melalui proses pendidikan yang telah dilakukannya. Tujuan penelitian ini Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dengan pendekatan STEAM terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas VII SMPS Dian Todahe. Desain penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada SMP Dian Todahe dan SMPN 9 Halmahera Barat menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dari penerapan atau penggunaan model pembelajaran Project Based Learning (PjBL) berpendekatan STEAM yaitu dengan adanya peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif, artinya dengan penggunaan model pembelajaran PjBL berpendekatan STEAM terjadi peningkatan pemahaman pengetahuan siswa yang signifikan. Jika dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran yang hanya menggunakan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) tanpa pendekatan STEAM. Kondisi terlihat dari data hasil belajar kognitif yang rata-rata nilai hasil belajar pretest pada kelas eksperimen adalah 43.85, Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol rata-rata nilai prestest adalah 43.67. Setelah tindakan penelitian dilaksanakan yakni dengan pembelajaran model Project Based Learning (PjBL) berpendekatan STEAM rata-rata nilai postest mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan dari rata-rata nilai pretest yaitu pada kelas eksperimen hasil belajar adalah 80,38. Dan pada kelas kontrol juga mengalami peningkatan nilai postest yaitu hasil belajar menjadi 73,67. Data hasil belajar kognitif yang diperoleh pada pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model PjBL berpendekatan STEAM lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan hasil kognitif siswa yang proses pembelajaran yang hanya menggunakan model PjBL murni.

Abstract

Seagrass meadows are ecosystems consisting of one or more species of seagrass interacting with biotic and abiotic factors in their environment. Ecologically, seagrass has several important functions in coastal areas, one of which is seagrass as a primary producer in shallow waters which is a food source for several types of organisms. This research aims to find out the types of seagrass plants in the waters of Teluk Buli Village, and find out the pattern of seagrass plant distribution, and find out what environmental factors affect the growth of seagrass plants. This type of research is descriptive explorative, where the data collected includes the types of seagrass plants that have been identified, the pattern of seagrass plant distribution, and environmental factors that affect the distribution pattern of seagrass plants. The method used for data collection is the quadratic method (calculated plot). Analysis of seagrass plant type data using seagrass plant identification manuals, seagrass plant distribution patterns using morista spread index formulas, and environmental factors that affect the pattern of seagrass plant distribution are described and contained in observation tables. The results showed that the type of seagrass plant found in the waters of Teluk Buli Village was a type of Enhalus acoroides. The results of the calculation of the morista spread index showed that the seagrass plant Enhalus acoroides had a clustered distribution pattern with a value of Id 1. The results of measuring the environmental parameters of seagrass plants in the waters of Teluk Buli village, namely pH 5-6.6 categorized as acid, Humidity 20%-50%, and Salinity 28% - 31% Optimum category.

Abstract

The teaching and learning process is faced with the challenge of low student learning outcomes. Contributing factors include misconceptions, difficulties in understanding science material, and a lack of learning models that actively involve students. Other factors such as time constraints, a lack of problem-solving stimulation, and other internal factors also affect students' critical thinking abilities and learning outcomes. The purpose of this study, to know: (1) critical thinking of students taught using the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on excretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar, (2) learning outcomes of student taught using the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on excretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar, (3) critical thinking taught without using the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on exretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar, (4) learning outcomes of students thaught without using the predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model on excretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar,(5) the effect of Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on critical thinking of students on excretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar, (6) the effect of Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on student learning outcomes on excretory system material class VIII SMPN 23 Makassar.This study used a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design research design. The population in the study was two hundred and ninety-one students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Makassar. There were a total of 86 people surveyed: 44 participated in the control group and 42 in the experimental class group. Sample determination was done by purposive sampling. The tools used as data collection are in the form of observation sheets, critical thinking ability tests and learning outcomes tests. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis which includes homogeneity test, hypothesis testing and normality. The results showed that in critical thinking and student learning outcomes with a Sign value < a < 0.001. So that in this study there is a significant difference between critical thinking and learning outcomes of students taught without using the predict-observe-explain (POE) learning model and using the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) learning model on excretory system material class VIII SMP Negeri 23 Makassar.

Abstract

Peningkatan kemampuan metakognisi dapat dilakukan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Group Investigation (GI). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran biologi model Group Investigation berbantuan peta konsep terhadap kemampuan metakognisi siswa SMA Negeri 6 Halmahera Tengah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperiment. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari siswa kelas Xa dengan jumlah siswa 24 orang sebagai kelas Eksperimen, dan kelas Xb dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 24 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Kemampuan metakognisi siswa diukur menggunakan instrumen tes essay, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan uji anakova dengan program SPSS 19.0. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001 (˂ α=0,05), ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbantuan peta konsep berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan metakognisi siswa. Kombinasi peta konsep dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif Group Investigation memiliki efek positif pada kemampuan metakognisi siswa, yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

This reaserch has pourpose to assess the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach on biology achievement among XII 1 grade students at Pakusari State High School, focusing on biotechnology material. It adopted a quantitative experimental method featuring a one-group pretest-posttest design. The findings involved 36 participants. Learning outcome data were collected via pre- and post-intervention tests. Statistical analysis encompassed descriptive statistics, normality testing, and the Wilcoxon test. Results showed pretest averages increasing from 42.5 to 65.83 in the posttest. Normality assessment confirmed non-normal distribution (Sig. < 0.05), prompting use of the Wilcoxon test, which produced a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). As a result, the null hypothesis (H₀) was dismissed in support of the alternative (H₁), validating a statistically meaningfull enhancement in students' biology performance pre- and post-PBL implementation. Hence, the PBL model demonstrably boosts learning outcomes effectively.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve students' learning outcomes and creativity on the topics of Work, Force, and Simple Machines through the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) based on local resources. The research subjects were 20 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 30 Raja Ampat. The study was conducted in two cycles using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, creativity observation sheets, interviews, documentation, and field notes. The results of the study showed an increase in the average learning outcome score from 67.80 to 89.35 (an increase of 31.78%), and an increase in student creativity from 69.50 to 87.65 (an increase of 26.12%). These findings indicate that project-based learning that utilises local potential can make science learning more contextual, meaningful, and collaborative in coastal schools.

Abstract

Biology instruction on the topic of environmental change holds great potential for integrating sustainability contexts as part of efforts to support Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). However, the limited availability of teaching materials that have not yet incorporated sustainability contexts poses a significant challenge to instruction. This study aims to determine teachers’ and students’ perceptions regarding the need for Biology worksheets integrated with sustainability contexts, particularly in the topic of environmental change. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The study’s respondents consisted of three high school Biology teachers and 63 eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the instructional materials currently in use are still dominated by textbooks and worksheets focused on conveying concepts and have not been integrated with sustainability contexts. This situation impacts students’ understanding, as they have not fully connected the material to environmental issues within a sustainability context. Teachers and students share the same perception regarding the need to develop contextual Biology teaching materials that incorporate sustainability. Based on the needs analysis, there is a need to develop Biology teaching materials integrated with sustainability in the context of environmental change to support the implementation of ESD.

Abstract

Weeds are one of the main factors that inhibit the growth and yield of rice crops in agricultural areas. The presence of uncontrolled weeds can compete with the main crop for resources, thereby significantly reducing productivity. This study aims to identify the morphological characteristics and types of weeds in rice fields (Oryza sativa) in the Wonco rice field area. The study consists of three stages: site observation, sample collection and data gathering, and identification. Data collection was conducted using an exploratory method, which involved exploring a rice field plot of 515 m². Weed sampling was conducted four times at various stages of rice plant growth. Identification was performed qualitatively based on morphological characteristics and quantitatively by calculating the percentage of weed presence. Environmental factors measured included air temperature, air humidity, soil temperature, soil humidity, pH, and light intensity. Based on the research conducted in the rice fields of Wonco, Bungi District, Baubau City, there are 40 species of rice weeds, consisting of 8 (eight) species of grasses, 6 (six) species of sedges, and 26 species of broad-leaved weeds.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ sustainability awareness after learning using an e-module integrated with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on the theme of traditional Indonesian fermented foods. The research employed a quantitative method using a questionnaire based on the Guttman scale, adapted from Gericke et al. (2018), consisting of 27 items covering three aspects: sustainability knowingness, sustainability attitudes, and sustainability behaviour. The data were analyzed using percentage calculations and N-Gain analysis. The results showed an increase in all aspects of students’ sustainability awareness, with improvements of 8.1% in knowledge, 5.9% in attitudes, and 18.4% in behaviour. However, the N-Gain results indicated that these improvements were still in the low category. This suggests that the use of ESD-based e-modules has not been significantly effective in enhancing students’ sustainability awareness within a short period. Therefore, continuous and sustained learning, along with the involvement of multiple stakeholders, is needed to optimize the development of students’ sustainability awareness.

Abstract

Microplastic contamination is a global concern due to its widespread occurrence in environmental and biological matrices, including water, sediments, and marine organisms. Accurate detection and characterisation are essential to understand their distribution, sources, and potential risks to ecosystems and human health. This review summarises advances in spectroscopy-based and complementary analytical techniques for microplastic detection, focusing on Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and pyrolysis–gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (Py-GC-MS). FTIR and Raman spectroscopy remain the primary tools for polymer identification through molecular fingerprinting, while CLSM enables rapid fluorescence-based screening and three-dimensional imaging. SEM provides detailed morphological information, revealing particle surface characteristics and weathering processes. In contrast, Py-GC-MS offers highly sensitive mass-based quantification and identification of polymer composition and associated additives. Each technique has distinct advantages and limitations related to sensitivity, resolution, throughput, and applicability to complex matrices. Therefore, integrated multi-method approaches are increasingly recommended to achieve comprehensive and reliable microplastic assessment. This review highlights current methodological developments and future directions to improve analytical accuracy and standardisation in microplastic research.
