Abstract

This study discusses the role of ex-combatant parties in advocating post-conflict women by using the Aceh Party case study. Aceh Party is one of the parties that transformed the struggle movement from the armed movement into a political party movement through general elections. The ex-combatant party was formed by post-conflict combatants after peace negotiations. The ex-combatant party which later became the case study material in this study was the ex-combatant party (Aceh Party) in Aceh. The presence of ex-combatant parties as part of the democratization process has a different reception towards the equality discourse of women in the participation and representation of public spaces, especially representation in politics. The Aceh Party has a tendency for women only as a formality to fulfill a 30 percent quota, without involving women seriously in political matters. This certainly can be seen how the party programs tend to be gender biased. The purpose of this study is to look at the phenomenon of the presence of post-conflict ex-combatant parties as part of the democratization process in providing advocacy for women. Through this research with a qualitative approach both sourced from primary and secondary data by tracing various literature, documents, and other supporting materials.

Abstract

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an international organization that facilitates international cooperation in the field of economy and trade. The position of the WTO as an international regime to date certainly has an important influence in the context of a country's national economic progress. In addition, the World Trade Organization has a function to resolve trade disputes experienced by its member states. One of the disputes faced was Peru's price range system on agricultural products that were considered detrimental to Guatemala in the two countries' free trade agreements. This is evidenced by the violation of Article 4.2 by Peru, namely the determination of additional import costs is not allowed in an agreement and is not an ordinary customs duty. Based on the above issues, the authors try to see how the WTO facilitates the implementation of negotiations between the two sides based on the concept of dispute settlement mechanism. Later in obtaining the data source, the author browses news, international trade documents, WTO norms and official statements relating to the topic of this research online.  The article found that the WTO established a panel as a mediator to resolve the trade dispute and asserted that Peru had violated international trade norms applicable to the WTO and this was a permanent decision to be exercised by Peru.

Abstract

The world oil boom in the 1970s and its peak in the 1980s made Middle Eastern countries rich in petrodollars. The impact is job seekers around the world to try their luck there. Many job seekers become labor (laborers), both in the formal and informal sectors, including Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI). But unfortunately, almost all of these migrant workers work in the informal sector by working as domestic workers, especially women, manual workers, or as drivers for male migrant workers Humans in the jahiliyah period, especially in Arabia, were divided into many strata, which from one level to the next, had a form of power. Slaves, being the lowest strata, even their human values are not fully recognized, because they are considered human beings who are not free. So the owner, can do anything to themselves, without being limited by norms and ethics. Jokowi's desire for a memoratorium for TKI workers is very strong stems from the many cases of abuse experienced by several workers who come from Indonesia. Then whether Jokowi's policy of wanting a TKI memoratorium has a good impact or is it the opposite, seeing from another perspective, TKI are also heroes of state foreign exchange.

Abstract

The Arab League is an organization that articulates Islamic messages and norms in the practice of International Relations. The central idea of the Arab League is reflected in the norms to carry out the politics of liberation of Palestima as a community whose existence must be fought for. However, in the context of conflict in the Middle East region especially post Arab Springs, the behavior and policies of the Arab League have received a very sharp spotlight in the practice of International Relations. This article explains the inconsistent practice of Islamic diplomacy in the case of intervention in Libya and Syria, which then results in a decline in the quality of humanity in Syria and Libya. This article finds that the Arab League has violated the norms of Islamic diplomacy such as muamalah bil misli in the form of double standard practices, and the norm of wafa 'bil ahdi in the form of inconsistencies in carrying out basic organizational norms.

Abstract

This study is a literature study using a descriptive qualitative approach. The method used is content analysis with a historical study approach on historical documents of Zheng He's visit to the archipelago in the 14th-15th centuries AD. From the results of the discussion, this study concludes; first; The main mission of Zheng He's visit to the archipelago was to gain recognition from the rulers of the archipelago's kings of the Chinese emperor's power during the Ming Dynasty, as well as efforts to meet the logistical needs of the kingdom through trade and friendship and peace. Second; Zheng He's arrival in the archipelago contributed to the opportunity for good diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China today. This can happen, supported by the romantic factor of the beautiful history of the past that has been inscribed by Admiral Cheng Ho from China who has successfully carried out diplomatic missions and the symbols of Islam well in this archipelago. One of the evidences of these memories is the existence of several mosques in the archipelago whose architecture imitates the characteristics of China, namely the Muhammad Cheng Ho Mosque in several cities in Indonesia to commemorate Cheng Ho's services in carrying out diplomatic missions that were carried out peacefully.

Abstract

Russia is trying to get out of worrying about the world economy amid sanctions imposed by the West and its allies. This concern has implications for efforts to find new economic partners such as China. Historically, bilateral relations between Russia and China have been conflicting due to different interests. However, along with Western sanctions and worsening relations with the West, there is an impetus to strengthen relations between the two countries. Russia views China as an important partner in the economic field. This is based on the influence of China's significant economic power in recent decades. This is evidenced by the existence of various agreements and economic cooperation agreed upon by both parties. In addition, Russia's approach with China can be an opportunity to strengthen its influence in the Asian region, especially its closeness with Japan. This research focuses on Russia's economic interests to be achieved by looking at its closeness with China.
