Abstract

The decades-long con ict between Iran and the United States (US) over the Iranian nuclear program was tempered by the Iran Nuclear Deal. The Iran Nuclear Deal or be er known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was signed by Iran with the P5 + 1 group of countries, namely the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia, and Germany on July 14 2015 in Vienna, Austria. The deal allows Iran to maintain a substantial portion of its nuclear infrastructure within certain limits - speci cally its ability to enrich uranium into ssile material, a material required in nuclear weapons. On its way, the US under the leadership of Donald Trump on May 8 2018 decided to withdraw from the deal on the grounds that this agreement was the result of terrible Iranian negotiations that would not bring calm and peace. The formulation of the issues raised relates to the implications of US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal. This study uses a normative juridical method by emphasizing the use of secondary data sources as the main reference. The approach method uses a conceptual approach, case approach, agreement approach, and historical approach. The results showed that the US withdrawal from this deal accompanied by the reimposed of sanctions against Iran had implications for disrupting the Iranian economy which resulted in Iran’s decision to no longer comply with and implement the existing deal. The incidents that recently happened to important gures in Iran as a result of the actions of the US have also increased the tension of the con ict as Iran has increasingly shown its activities in the nuclear program which crossed borders. The US withdrawal from the deal constitutes a form of diplomatic vandalism that does not need to occur considering its impact on global stability and conduciveness.

Abstract

The Refugee Crisis in 2015 has considered creating a major problem to European society. This issue was capitalized by far-right political movement to create anti-immigrant narratives. Right-wing political groups have linked the anti-immigrant narratives to the negative impact European societies have had on security, politics, economics and social culture. In this article, the author argues that the increase of anti-immigrant narratives also entails a crucial aspect that is important to analyze, which is the fragile construction of the European identity. The integration of European identity, multiculturalism, and social cohesion are the important aspects of such identity. This is more apparent nowadays as the immigrant population is increasing. The author suggests two points of view on this ma er: the discussion on migrants in Europe and how the anti-immigrant narrative dominates the transition discourse contestation in Europe, especially how the narratives develop after the 2015 refugee crisis.

Abstract

The world oil boom in the 1970s and its peak in the 1980s made Middle Eastern countries rich in petrodollars. The impact is job seekers around the world to try their luck there. Many job seekers become labor (laborers), both in the formal and informal sectors, including Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI). But unfortunately, almost all of these migrant workers work in the informal sector by working as domestic workers, especially women, manual workers, or as drivers for male migrant workers Humans in the jahiliyah period, especially in Arabia, were divided into many strata, which from one level to the next, had a form of power. Slaves, being the lowest strata, even their human values are not fully recognized, because they are considered human beings who are not free. So the owner, can do anything to themselves, without being limited by norms and ethics. Jokowi's desire for a memoratorium for TKI workers is very strong stems from the many cases of abuse experienced by several workers who come from Indonesia. Then whether Jokowi's policy of wanting a TKI memoratorium has a good impact or is it the opposite, seeing from another perspective, TKI are also heroes of state foreign exchange.

Abstract

The high-speed train infrastructure project is not only seen as an economic issue, more than that, high-speed train technology has developed into a world political issue. Rivalry between countries and manufacturers of high-speed trains occurs in several regions of the world, one of which is Indonesia. The rivalry between China and Japan in the high-speed train provides an opportunity for Indonesia to play a role and maximize bargaining power to take advantage of the rivalry. Japan, which is Indonesia's strategic partner, received the opportunity to build the Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed train after previously losing to China in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project. Using an international political economy approach, this paper will discuss the shape of Indonesia's interest in Japan in the Jakarta-Surabaya high-speed rail construction project. There are several things that are seen, namely Japan's strategic role for Indonesia in terms of investment, Japan's important role for Indonesia's economic growth, Indonesia's need for sustainable infrastructure development and regional connectivity, and the need for technology transfer aimed at building human resources and realizing the better transportation system.
