Abstract

This research came from the uniqueness of the Alquran Elementary School (SDQu) in Indonesia which was interesting to be studied. This study highlighted the instructional communication orientation of students through an analysis of interpersonal communication in learning activities in the Tarkiz classroom. Using the case study method, we employed the theoretical lens of social construction, symbolic interaction, and social cognitive as a way to capture the truth and explore this phenomenon more to make model of interpersonal communication in the field of instructional communication. Findings are discussed effective instructional communication between students and teachers Tarkiz created conducive learning for students to developed an interpersonal communication model on the openness of student and teacher, the interaction of the environment, and equality of student and teacher. This study makes contributions to interpersonal communication in practice. Penelitian ini membahas keunikan Sekolah Dasar Alquran (SDQu) di Indonesia yang menarik untuk dipelajari. Penelitian ini menyoroti orientasi komunikasi instruksional siswa melalui analisis komunikasi interpersonal dalam kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas Tarkiz. Menggunakan metode studi kasus, kami menggunakan lensa teoritis konstruksi sosial, interaksi simbolik, dan kognitif sosial sebagai cara untuk menangkap kebenaran dan mengeksplorasi fenomena ini lebih untuk membuat model komunikasi interpersonal di bidang komunikasi instruksional. Temuan dibahas komunikasi instruksional yang efektif antara siswa dan guru Tarkiz menciptakan pembelajaran yang kondusif bagi siswa untuk mengembangkan model komunikasi interpersonal pada keterbukaan siswa dan guru, interaksi lingkungan, dan kesetaraan siswa dan guru. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada komunikasi interpersonal dalam praktik.

Abstract

Marriage is a basic human need, so in certain societies it becomes sacred tradition. The sacredness of marriage is manifested in the series of customs that are required to be carried out. The sacredness of the marriage is believed in society as the Sambas Malay community in West Kalimantan. In Sambas Malay, This tradition is popular as the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan, which has been an important part in the customs of marriage until today. This tradition is not an empty tradition without meaning, instead it has a very high meaning and is a cultural da'wah with the internalization of Islamic teachings in everyday life. This research focuses on the design of cultural da'wah in the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan. Using interpretive paradigms, with phenomenological methods and anthropological-sociological approach, this study found: first, the tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan is an effort to internalize Islamic teachings to strengthen four main aspects of the Muslim lives, namely 1) human relations with their creators. 2) suitable for human biological needs. 3) human relations in the family. 4) human relations with society in general. Second, an interesting approach by synergizing non-verbal messages through symbols and verbal messages through the language class in poetry, and suitable  to meet the fundamental interests of humans makes this tradition of Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan as a model in the development of cultural da’wah.Perkawinan merupakan kebutuhan mendasar manusia sehingga pada masyarakat tertentu menjadi tradisi yang sakral. Sakralitas perkawinan diantaranya diwujudkan dengan rentetan adat istiadat yang diharuskan untuk dilaksanakan. Sakralitas perkawinan tersebut diyakini oleh masyarakat Melayu Sambas Kalimantan Barat. Pada Melayu Sambas dikenal tradisi antar Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan yang hingga saat ini menjadi bagian penting dalam tahapan adat istiadat pernikahan. Tradisi ini bukan tradisi yang kosong tanpa makna, tetapi justru memiliki makna yang sangat tinggi dan merupakan dakwah kultural dengan adanya internalisasi ajaran Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini terfokus pada desain dakwah kultural pada tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan. Menggunakan paradigma interpretif, dengan metode fenomenologi dan pendekatan antropologis-sosiologi, penelitian ini menemukan: Pertama, tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan merupakan upaya internalisasi ajaran Islam untuk memperkuat empat aspek utama dalam kehidupan umat Islam yaitu 1) hubungan manusia dengan penciptanya. 2) pemenuhan kebutuhan biologis manusia. 3) hubungan manusia dalam keluarga. 4) hubungan manusia dengan masyarakat secara luas. Kedua, pendekatan yang menarik dengan mensinergiskan pesan non verbal melalui simbol dan pesan verbal melalui bahasa kias dalam pantun, serta mampu menyentuh kepentingan mendasar manusia menjadikan tradisi Antar Pinang Pulang Memulangkan sebagai model dalam pengembangan dakwah kultural.

Abstract

On its arrival in Jambi, Islam had interacted with the indigenous culture. Through pacifique penetration, Islam influenced local society and socio-cultural institutions. Islam used the traditional poem of seloka which is a form of the Malay spoken literature as a medium to spread out the Islamic values and thoughts. Islam even became the main source in establishing the Jambi's local culture and wisdom. The study explains da’wah in local wisdom of traditional poem of seloka (seloko, Jambinese) Jambi Malay.  Using qualitative method by reading and learning the main research sources of descriptive data which were manuscripts of traditional poem of seloka. Interview with resource persons who were competent on content and value of the poems were also conducted to enhanche the  interpretation on data. The  conclusion of the study finds that the da’wah movement based on local wisdom brought about tightly bound relation between Islam and Jambi Malay Culture; Islamic value were modified into traditional law that commonly use seloka. The reality shows there is harmony between  the local culture and the Quran  and Sunnah.      Islam mempengaruhi masyarakat dan institusi sosial-budaya setempat. Dengan memanfaatkan seloko adat yang merupakan salah satu bentuk sastera lisan Melayu, bahasa sastera ini menjadi alat penyemai nilai dan ajaran Islam, sehingga pada akhirnya agama ini menjadi sumber utama bagi pembentukan adat dan kearifan lokal. Artikel ini menjelaskan dakwah dalam kearifan lokal seloko adat Melayu Jambi. Islam sejak awal kedatangannya telah berinteraksi dengan budaya setempat. Lewat penetrasi damai (pacifique penetration), Menggunakan metode kualitatif, penelitian ini berupaya mempelajari dan memahami naskah seloko adat dan kaitannya dengan kearifan lokal dan dakwah Islam. Wawancara ke beberapa tokoh penting dilakukan sebagai bagian dari pengayaan data untuk memahami  lebih lanjut mengenai isi dan nilai seloko. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa akibat adanya gerakan dakwah yang berkearifan lokal dalam budaya Melayu Jambi terdapat hubungan yang erat antara Islam dan budaya masyarakat melayu Jambi; seperti  adanya modifikasi nilai-nilai Islam ke dalam hukum adat yang umumnya menggunakan bahasa seloko. Realitas itu menunjukan adanya harmoni antara budaya lokal dengan Alquran dan Sunnah Rasul.

Abstract

The high number of social media users in Indonesia raises opportunities for various parties to use it. Not only for business, politics and campaign, but also for Islamic purposes. The two largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah, also use facebook social media as a medium of propaganda. The research aims to find out the propaganda of NU and Muhammadiyah on facebook social media, both related to the missionary strategy and related to the portrait of the second da'wah of the largest religious organization in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques carried out by literature study and observing both da'wah on the Facebook network. The data used in this study is qualitative data which is based on literature review and analysis of the two media Facebook organizations. The research resulted in a conclusion that the NU and Muhammadiyah da'wah strategies on facebook social media generally still use a normative pattern. Da'wah messages have not been creatively packaged, and generally still lack innovation. Da'wah material is still struggling in the area of aqeedah, morals and muamalah. Current issues that require study and solutions from an Islamic perspective are still relatively limited. Tingginya pengguna media sosial di Indonesia memunculkan peluang berbagai pihak untuk memanfaatkannya. Bukan hanya untuk bisnis, politik, dan kampanye semata, tetapi  juga untuk syiar Islam. Dua ormas Islam terbesar di Indonesia yaitu Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) dan Muhammadiyah, juga memanfaatkan media sosial facebook sebagai media dakwah. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui dakwah NU dan Muhammadiyah di media sosial facebook, baik terkait dengan strategi dakwah maupun terkait potret dakwah kedua organisasi keagamaan terbesar di Indonesia ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka dan melakukan pengamatan terhadap dakwah keduanya di jejaring facebook. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini merupakan data kualitatif yang berpijak dari kajian pustaka dan analisis terhadap media facebook kedua organisasi tersebut. Penelitian menghasilkan simpulan bahwa strategi dakwah NU dan Muhammadiyah di media sosial facebook umumnya masih mengguinakan pola normatif. Pesan-pesan dakwah belum dikemas secara kreatif, dan umumnya masih minim inovasi. Materi dakwah masih berkutat di wilayah akidah, akhlak dan muamalah. Isu-isu kekinian yang membutuhkan kajian dan solusi dari perspektif keislaman masih relatif terbatas.

Abstract

This study reveals how the reality of da’wah on social media in the people of Gorontalo City, how is the problem of da'wah on social media, and what are the implications of this problem for the future of Islamic da'wah. Through this study, it will be illustrated how social media acts as a medium of da'wah and the problems that occur in it. The results of this qualitative research revealed that besides being used as a means of entertainment and interaction, social media was also used as a medium of da’wah. In general, da’wah on social media such as the implementation of da'wah in the real world even though it is packaged differently. Even so, da’wah on social media has a distinctive form that is in accordance with the character of social media itself, namely in the form of writing and drawing. The problematic da’wah on social media in the people of Gorontalo City is more visible in cyberspace than in the real world. This problem is driven by two main factors, namely the material of da'wah which is inconsistent and vulnerable to infiltration by other elements outside the da'wah and the figure of the prosecutor himself who lacks the scientific capacity to da’wah and has an exclusive religious character that tends to give birth to conflict. The problem of da’wah on social media will be dangerous if it is not resolved completely because it will have negative implications for the future of da'wah itself. The problem of da'wah on social media will cause people to be unsympathetic to Islamic da'wah and cause da'wah to lose opportunities to take advantage of the progress of the times for the development of da'wah.Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bagaimana realitas dakwah di media sosial di masyarakat Kota Gorontalo, masalah dakwah di media sosial, dan apa implikasi dari masalah ini bagi masa depan dakwah Islam. Melalui penelitian ini, diilustrasikan bagaimana media sosial bertindak sebagai media dakwah dan masalah apa saja yang terjadi di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian kualitatif ini mengungkapkan bahwa selain digunakan sebagai sarana hiburan dan interaksi, media sosial juga digunakan sebagai media dakwah. Secara umum, dakwah di media sosial sama seperti penerapan dakwah di dunia nyata meski dikemas berbeda. Meski begitu, dakwah di media sosial memiliki bentuk khas yang sesuai dengan karakter media sosial itu sendiri, yaitu dalam bentuk tulisan dan gambar. Dakwah yang bermasalah di media sosial di masyarakat Kota Gorontalo lebih terlihat di dunia maya daripada di dunia nyata. Masalah ini didorong oleh dua faktor utama, yaitu bahan dakwah yang tidak konsisten dan rentan terhadap infiltrasi oleh unsur-unsur lain di luar dakwah dan sosok da’i sendiri yang tidak memiliki kapasitas ilmiah untuk berdakwah dan memiliki karakter religius eksklusif yang cenderung melahirkan konflik. Masalah dakwah di media sosial akan berbahaya jika tidak diselesaikan sepenuhnya karena akan berdampak negatif bagi masa depan dakwah itu sendiri. Masalah dakwah di media sosial akan menyebabkan orang tidak simpatik pada dakwah Islam dan menyebabkan dakwah kehilangan kesempatan untuk mengambil keuntungan dari perkembangan zaman untuk pengembangan dakwah.

Abstract

This study aims to find out 1) the forms of problems of family in the millenial era, 2) relations that occur in the family, and 3) the role of Islamic communication in realizing family harmony. This type of research is qualitative research. The technique of collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this study is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results showed that (1) the form of family problems in the millennial era that occurred was the intensity of excessive use of gadgets on children and the busyness between husband and wife who both worked, (2) Relationships that occur are relations between husband, wife and children, and relationship between husband and wife. Informants 1 and 3 have similarities in functional components in the family. on the transactional component in the family, the first and second informants develop the component. The first informant developed a pattern of behavior in the relationship between husband and wife and children. The second informant, the development of behavior is more on the relationship of husband and wife. (3) The role of Islamic communication in realizing: openness, support, positive feelings, empathy, and similarity.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui 1) bentuk-bentuk problematika keluarga di era millenial, 2) relasi yang terjadi dalam keluarga, dan 3) peran komunikasi Islam dalam mewujudkan keharmonisan keluarga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) bentuk problematika keluarga di era millenia yang terjadi adalah  intensitas penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan pada anak dan kesibukan antara suami dan istri yang sama-sama bekerja, (2) Relasi yang terjadi adalah relasi suami, istri dan anak, serta relasi antara suami dan istri. Informan 1 dan 3 memiliki kesamaan pada komponen fungsional dalam keluarga. pada komponen transaksional dalam keluarga, informan pertama dan kedua mengembangkan komponen tersebut. Informan pertama mengembangkan pola perilaku pada relasi suami istri dan anak. Sedangkan pada informan kedua, pengembangan perilaku lebih pada relasi suami istri. (3) Peran komunikasi Islam dalam mewujudkan keterbukaan, dukungan, perasaan positif,  empati, dan kesamaan.

Abstract

Image is an important component for education institutions to increase public trust. One of the efforts in improving this image is the communication strategy performed by the public relations officers in Higher Education Institutions (HEI). Islamic universities as da’wah organization also is expected to have a good image. This study is to reveal the communication strategies of two Islamic HEI: State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Surakarta), and State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga, and the improvement of their images by public relations with da'wah. These two Islamic HEI selected as the object of research because they are still in level institute, so, they have great opportunities for developing to higher level. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and document analysis. The result shows that IAIN Surakarta improves its image by using communication strategies in accreditation of study programs and academic journals, as well as transformation into a university. IAIN Salatiga, meanwhile, improves its image by using strategies of green campus and international journal publication. Therefore, the public relations office considers applying the principle of da'wah to encourage people to empower. Citra merupakan komponen penting bagi perguruan tinggi dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat. Upaya peningkatan citra ini dapat dilakukan dengan strategi komunikasi oleh bagian hubungan masyarakat (Humas) di perguruan tinggi. Perguruan tinggi Islam sebagai lembaga dakwah juga dituntut memiliki citra yang baik. Penelitian ini berupaya mengetahui strategi komunikasi dua perguruan tinggi keagamaan Islam, yaitu Institut Agama Islam Negeri Surakarta dan Institut Agama Islam Negeri Salatiga. Kedua perguruan tinggi tersebut dipilih karena masih level institut sehingga memiliki peluang berkembang ke level lebih tinggi. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, pengamatan, dan analisis dokumentasi. Penelitian menemukan bahwa IAIN Surakarta berupaya melakukan strategi komunikasi untuk meningkatkan citra melalui akreditasi program studi, jurnal, dan transformasi menjadi universitas. Sedangkan IAIN Salatiga melakukan strategi komunikasi untuk meningkatkan citra melalui kampus hijau dan publikasi jurnal internasional. Dengan demikian, bagian Humas dianggap menerapkan prinsip dakwah untuk mengajak masyarakat melakukan pemberdayaan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: implementation of traning dakwah about the religious motives of Muslims interacting with Christians, patterns of Muslims interaction with Christians and the influence of religious motives between Muslims and Christians and the effect on the pattern of interaction between them in Bukit Permata Housing, Cinunuk, Cileunyi District of Bandung Regency. This study uses a case method with qualitative and quantitative approach, which is believed to be capable of being used to reveal the specific situation in a community using social facts emerge. The research method chosen by the researchers is a case study. That's because the object to be studied regarding a specific phase or typical of the whole personality, and aims to obtain an adequate picture of the religious motives of Muslims interacted with Christians is the nature and distinctive character of the cases in Bukit Permata Housing Karsamanik. Research conducted involving 25 respondents with various predetermined criteria, based on the following conditions: (1). Respondents Muslims who have lived with Christian proximity, (2). Respondents are members of the Housing society Bukit Permata Karsamanik who has settled for at least 1.5 years; and (3). Respondents were considered to meet the requirements to provide a response regarding research themes; From the research conducted, the results obtained in the calculation of the indicators of the implementation Dakwah Training shows that religious motives of Muslims interacting with Christians, obtained an average value of 32.4: 14 = 2.30. If the qualifying criteria are interpreted at the high and low motives, the figures were included in the category quite well. The result of the calculation of the indicators associative patterns of social interaction between Christians Muslims with values obtained by an average of 36.3: 14 = 2.60. If the qualifying criteria are interpreted at the high and low motives, the figure is well categorized either. While the index value obtained correlation of 0.31 which is in the interval from 0.21 to 0.40 with a lower category. The hypothesis testing showed that tcount obtained is at 1.62, while the value of ttable 1.71. With these results, the hypothesis (H0) is received and the alternative hypothesis (H1) declined. Based on the calculation, the influence of variable X to Y varabel is 5%. Thus it can be said that, patterns of social interaction of Muslims with Christians influenced by religious motives with a value of 5% and 95% influenced by other factors. Religious motives of Muslims in interacting with Christians, is quite good. The pattern of interaction between Muslims with Christians, either. And the influence of religious motives to the interaction patterns among those with a value of 5%.

Abstract

This study aims to understand and analyze the relationship between da'wah's practice, especially in the form of Islamic broadcasting on television media, and the presence of popular culture in society. This research is qualitative research using descriptive and holistic research methods. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation techniques. Besides, researchers also use critical discourse analysis methods as data analysis methods. The use of analytical techniques that combines various approaches in critical discourse analysis, such as textual analysis, sociological macro analysis, as well as the use of ideological and power relations theories, is assumed to be the right technique in formulating meaning and understanding the practice of da'wah on television more critically. This research wants to answer how the construct of da'wah practice on television and the role of television media in the commodification and commercialization of Islamic da'wah from the perspective of critical discourse analysis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami dan menganalisis bagaimana relasi antara praktik dakwah, terutama dalam bentuk penyiaran Islam di media televisi, dengan kehadiran budaya populer di masyarakat. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif dan holistic. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Selain itu, peneliti juga menggunakan metode analisis wacana kritis sebagai metode analisa datanya. Penggunaan teknik analisa dilakukan untuk analisis tekstual, analisis makro sosiologis, juga penggunaan teori ideologi dan relasi kuasa, diasumsikan sebagai teknik yang tepat dalam merumuskan makna dan memahami praktik dakwah di televisi secara lebih kritis. Penelitian ingin menjawab bagaimana konstruk praktik dakwah di televisi dan peran media televisi dalam hal komodifikasi dan komersialisasi dakwah Islam dalamperspektif analisis wacana kritis.

Abstract

Salafism has developed into different interpretations and understandings. Every da’wah movement claims to follow Salafi way of its own interpretation. This study aims at portraying one of Salafi understandings and its Salafi da’wah. This research used literature review to reconstruct the model of first emerging da’wah according to Shaikh Muhammad Al-Ghazali, a 20th century da’wah thinker and practicioner. It used his works that are supposed to bear objective, original views, and understanding on Salafism and Salafi da’wah. The study shows that since the time of the prophet the core characteristics of Salafi da’wah are criticism, constructivism, and moderation.    Salafisme telah berkembang menjadi beragam interpretasi dan pemahaman. Setiap gerakan dakwah mengklaim mengikuti cara Salafi dalam interpretasinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan salah satu pemahaman Salafi dan dakwah Salafi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis literatur untuk merekonstruksi model pertama kemunculan dakwah menurut Shaikh Muhammad Al-Ghazali, seorang pemikir dan praktisi dakwah abad ke-20. Ia menggunakan karya-karyanya yang seharusnya memiliki pandangan objektif, asli, dan pemahaman tentang Salafisme dan dakwah Salafi. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa sejak masa nabi, karakteristik inti dari dakwah Salafi adalah kritis, konstruktivisme, dan moderasi.
