Abstract

ABSTRACT. UNP Laboratory Development High School has implemented the 2013 Curriculum, but it is still not optimal. The problem found is that the learning process still often teacher centered which turned students passive. In addition, teachers also do not variation the learning model. The impact is the low student learning competency. This study aims to look at the effect of the application of Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) by the Couple Card Media on the Learning Competence of Students in Circulation System Material in the UNP Laboratory Development High School. This research is an experimental study with a Randomized Control Group Only Design research design. The population in this study were all students of class XI in the UNP Laboratory Development High School, totaling 54 students distributed in 2 classes. Sampling is done using total sampling techniques. The research instrument used form of posttest questions for aspects of knowledge, observation sheets for aspects of attitude and portfolio assessment for aspects of skills. The data analysis technique used is the t test, which is first performed prerequisite tests, namely the normality test and homogeneity test. The results showed knowledge competence (77.93), attitude competence (82.00), and skills (83.89) in the experimental class were higher than the control class 68.30 respectively; 70.58; and 79.2. These results indicate that the hypothesis is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) type of cooperative learning model assisted by a couple card media has a significant positive effect on the students' learning competency biology at SMA UNP Laboratory. ABSTRAK. SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP sudah menerapkan Kurikulum 2013, namun masih belum optimal. Permasalahan yang ditemukan adalah proses pembelajaran masih teacher centered sehingga membuat peserta didik pasif. Selain itu, kurangnya variasi model pembelajaran. Dampaknya adalah rendahnya kompetensi belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penerapan model Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) Berbantuan Media Couple Card terhadap Kompetensi Belajar Biologi Peserta Didik di SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Randomized Control Group Only Design. Populasi dalam penelitian mencakup seluruh peserta didik kelas XI di SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020 berjumlah 54 orang peserta didik yang terdiri dari 2 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian untuk aspek pengetahuan berupa soal posttest, untuk aspek sikap berupa lembar observasi dan untuk aspek keterampilan berupa penilaian portofolio. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas sebagai uji prasyarat lalu dilakukan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kompetensi pengetahuan (77,93), kompetensi sikap (82,00), dan keterampilan (83,89) pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol berturut-turut 68,30; 70,58; dan 79,22. Hasil analisis hipotesis di ketahui bahwa thitung pada ketiga kompetensi ini lebih besar dari ttabel. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis diterima. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan model RTE berbantuan media couple card berpengaruh positif yang berarti terhadap kompetensi belajar biologi peserta didik di SMA Pembangunan Laboratorium UNP.

Abstract

Abstract. Education is not only about transfer of knowledge, it is also an attempt to shape one’s personality of characteristics. Personality is a factor that has an important role in the success of teaching and learning conducted by teachers, related to ascpect cognitive, affective, and psychomotor toward their students, so the ideal teacher is needed not only in terms of intellectuals, but also in personality. The research conducted is using literatur study with data obtained from literature review. This article aims to describe and analyze how become the figure of an ideal teacher with a personality that can be a role model for all levels of society, especially students. Armed with the ideal personality competence, teacher can be more flexible in helping the formation of the personality of their students, so that it can help to achieve one of the aims educational, it is to prepare characterized human resources (HR).

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Since the COVID-19 pandemic happened, gradually all learning activities are directed to be carried out by online. One of the alternative that can be used is through Google Classroom because Google Classroom can be used on PC and smartphone, making it easier for users. The purpose of this research is to know students's responses to the learning process of biology through Google Classroom at UMRAH. This type of research is descriptive. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique is quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of this study indicate that the learning process through the Google Classroom at the UMRAH received a fairly good response from aspects related to conventional learning. Then, a good response from the aspect of attractiveness, the formation of student character, ease and benefits of use. Students also gave very good responses related to the efficient use of their usage time. ABSTRAK: Sejak pandemi COVID-19 terjadi, secara berangsur-angsur seluruh aktivitas pembelajaran diarahkan untuk dapat dilakukan secara daring. Salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan adalah melalui Google Classroom karena dapat digunakan pada PC dan smartphone, sehingga memudahkan pengguna. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon mahasiswa terhadap proses pembelajaran biologi melalui Google Classroom di UMRAH. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket. Teknik analisis data adalah statistik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses pembelajaran melalui Google Classroom di UMRAH mendapat respon yang cukup baik dari aspek yang terkait dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Kemudian, respons yang baik dari aspek daya tarik, pembentukan karakter mahasiswa, kemudahan dan manfaat penggunaan. Mahasiswa juga memberikan tanggapan yang sangat baik terkait dengan efisiensi penggunaan waktu penggunaan mereka.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This descriptive study aims to analyze students' creative thinking skills in natural science at SMPN 6 in Tanjungpinang. A total of 119 students were being samples in this study. Data collected by test and observation. The issue of environmental pollution becomes a contextual topic to facilitate student tests and responses. From this study, it was known that students have good abilities in the aspects of fluency and flexibility in creative thinking. However in the originality and elaboration aspect are still in the sufficient category. Contextual issues of environmental pollution give support to the results of students' creative thinking abilities. However, the results obtained shows that learning strategies and learning resources are also important points in developing students’ creative thinking skills. ABSTRAK: Studi deskriptif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa SMPN 6 di Tanjungpinang dalam pembelajaran IPA. Sebanyak 119 siswa kelas VII dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes dan lembar observasi. Isu pencemaran lingkungan menjadi topik kontekstual untuk memfasilitasi tes dan respon siswa. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa siswa memiliki kemampuan yang baik pada aspek kefasihan (fluency) dan keluwesan (flexibility) dalam berpikir kreatif. Namun pada aspek kebaruan ide (originality) dan kerincian ide (elaboration) masih berada pada kategori cukup. Kontekstualitas isu pencemaran lingkungan memberikan kontribusi pada hasil capaian kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Namun, juga diperoleh gambaran bahwa strategi pembelajaran dan sumber belajar juga menjadi point penting dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

The learning process of biology hasn’t led to direct observation of the object to be studied, this has an impact on the development of students' science process skills which cannot be oriented properly to the learning process of biology. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the android version of RPG Maker MV based learning games to improve science process skills on the concept of viruses. The research method used Quasi-Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest. The results showed the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, student responses> 50%, the rest answered strongly agree. So it can be concluded that, there is a significant difference in effectiveness between the implementation of the android version of the RPG Maker MV based learning game "Felix And The Virology Zone" with conventional methods in improving science process skills and students give very positive responses.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the productive pedagogies skills of prospective teachers in implementing learning in the pandemic era. These skills indicate the professional level of a teacher in carrying out their duties. Ideally the teacher should be able to show every dimension of productive pedagogies during the learning process. Productive pedagogies of a teacher can be seen from three dimensions, namely intellectual quality, relevance, and mastery of the classroom environment. The implementation of this descriptive research is carried out in the implementation of teaching by biology education teacher candidate students who do Field Experience Practices. Productive pedagogies are measured using a Likert scale questionnaire and observation sheets on the implementation of learning. The data obtained were analyzed on the conversion of values ​​with the low to high category, and then the comparison was carried out using the scheme to provide a description of the productive pedagogies' domination. The research findings show that the productive pedagogies of biology teacher candidates based on a questionnaire (85.75) and the implementation of learning (93.00) are in the very good category. The rating of each dimension of productive pedagogies is in the very good category. It can be concluded that prospective biology teachers are considered ready to face learning situations both offline and online with good learning strategies.

Abstract

Upaya guru untuk mengembangkan Life Skill dapat dilakukan melalui proses pembelajaran yang diintegrasikan dengan Entreprenial Skill. Pembelajaran biologi sebagai bagian integral dari pembelajaran yang berorientasi proses dan produk memungkinkan untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai kewirausahaan pada pembelajarannnya melalui kegiatan praktikum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan pembelajaran biologi berbasis Ecopreneurship memanfaatkan sumber daya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Prakarya sebanyak 30 siswa. Tahapan pembelajaran biologi berbasis Ecopreneurship dilakukan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu pendahuluan, pembentukan konsep, integrasi konsep, aplikasi konsep, dan pameran produk. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan terdiri atas tes literasi lingkungan dan non tes berupa angket, observasi pembelajaran serta wawancara. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 24. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat wirausaha siswa pada tes awal dan tes akhir tetap pada kategori tinggi dengan kenaikan rata-rata 4 poin dengan skor literasi lingkungan siswa secara keseluruhan berada pada kategori sedang dan respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran biologi berbasis Ecopreneurship pada kategori baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran biologi berbasis Ecopreneurship memanfaatkan sumber daya lokal dapat meningkatkan minat wirausaha dan literasi lingkungan siswa.

Abstract

The research was conducted at SMAN 4 Tanjungpinang in XII IPA 5 class which aims to describe the steps, learning results and positive impact of STEM-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model implementation in biology class on growth. This research was conducted from July 12, 2020 to October 30, 2020. The results obtained from this study are the Implementation of STEM Based Learning Project, which can improve the skills of students making experimental reports on learning about Growth of Plants. Based on the data from 2019, the average class score was 63,02. After implementation of STEM-based PjBL in cycle 1 the average class score increase from 75,71 to 83,84. The number of students who didn’t pass the task from cycle 1 are 10 students and the number decreased in cycle 2 to 2 students. The number of students who completed the task increased from 25 to 33 students. The percentage of students who pass the task also increased from 71,42% to 94,28%. Thus, STEM approaches can improve student skills and their understanding of STEM concepts and priciples that can be used integratedly to develop products, processes, and systems that benefit human life.

Abstract

Science learning should be learned by following the nature of science, which refers to the learning process, from the process of learning processed in such a way as to produce products, attitudes, and technologies used by students as a means to improve cognitive, affective, and psychomotor abilities. The observations showed that science learning is less inviting students to find and address problems in society, as a result of students' attitudes towards the environment less, and the learning outcomes obtained by students are also low. Therefore, there is a need for learning activities that can empower the learning process by using the project-based Science Technology Society (STS) learning model. The purpose of this study is 1) knowing the implementation of the syntax of project-based STS learning model in students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program Semester 7 academic year 2019/2020 FKIP Universitas PGRI Madiun in environmental pollution material, 2) knowing the improvement of learning results. This research is a class action study, conducted in three cycles consisting of the stage of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Validation of research is done by the triangulation method. Cognitive learning data collection techniques using tests, affective learning results using observation sheets and polls, and psychomotor learning results using observation sheets and tests. Data analysis using qualitative and inference analysis techniques. Concluded in the study namely: 1) STS learning model has been implemented well by STS syntax: problem orientation, concept formation, concept application, concept strengthening, and assessment in students of Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program Semester 7 academic year 2019/2020 FKIP Universitas PGRI Madiun environmental pollution material, 2) there is an increase in student learning outcomes in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Physics is closely related to problem solving. To be able to solve the problem appropriately, it takes a good conceptual understanding to analyze the concepts underlying the problem and to determine the correct problem-solving procedure based on the condition of the problem. Poor conceptual understanding causes the inability of students to solve various physics problems. Kinematics is a fundamental concept in physics that is needed to understand other physics concepts. As a biology teacher candidate, a biology education student is required to master other science fields such as physics. Therefore, the authors tested the physics conceptual understanding of biology teacher candidates on the topic of kinematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the physics conceptual understanding possessed by biology teacher candidates on the topic of kinematics. This research was a descriptive study with data collection techniques using questionnaires in the form of essay questions to test students' conceptual understanding regarding distance and displacement, velocity and acceleration. The results showed that there were still problems for biology teacher candidates in understanding the concepts of distance, displacement, velocity and acceleration. Therefore, a lecture method is needed that can improve the physics conceptual understanding of biology teacher candidates through general physics courses.
