Abstract

The Province of Bangka Belitung Islands is designated by the central government for the establishment of the Confucian State University (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/PTN Konghucu). However, the government's initiative to build this Confucian State University has sparked diverse reactions among the residents of Bangka Belitung: some opposing it, some supporting it, and others questioning it. This study analyzed how each party constructs its discourse to sway public opinion. Furthermore, it investigated the social and legal repercussions of this discourse battle, with the intention of providing insights for considerations or recommendations to relevant stakeholders. This research method is descriptive qualitative, involving primary and secondary data collection. Primary data was gathered through direct observation, interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Meanwhile, secondary data was sourced from online news, books, journals, and previous research findings. Through this study, researchers identify the varying discourses presented by each party, reflecting both favorable and unfavorable perspectives. Pertarungan Wacana Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Konghucu Di Kepulauan Bangka BelitungBangka Belitung merupakan daerah yang ditunjuk oleh pemerintah pusat sebagai tempat pembangunan Perguruan Tinggi Negeri (PTN) Konghucu. Program pemerintah pusat terkait pembangunan PTN Konghucu ini nyatanya menimbulkan respon yang beragam dari masyarakat Bangka Belitung, ada yang menolak, ada yang mendukung, dan ada pula yang sekadar mempertanyakan. Penelitian ini akan melihat bagaimana wacana yang dikonstruksi oleh masing-masing pihak dalam memenangkan pandangan publik. Lebih lanjut, riset ini juga akan melihat implikasi sosial dan hukum dari hadirnya pertarungan wacana tersebut, dengan diharapkan dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan atau rekomendasi kepada pihak terkait. Metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan proses pengumpulan data primer dan sekuender. Data primer diperoleh langsung melalui observasi, wawancara, dan FGD (Focus Group Discussion), sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui berita online, buku, jurnal dan hasil-hasil penelitian terdahulu. Dari hasil penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan wacana yang dikonstruksikan dari masing-masing pihak yang Pro dan Kontra.

Abstract

The discourse around youth political participation often seems pejorative. Many earlier studies continue to emphasise youth political apathy, a notion that has long been debunked. Others reduce urban youth’s political engagement to merely digital activism, largely due to recent information and technological advancements. However, this research presents a more nuanced view, arguing that the current political engagement of urban youth is characterised by a balance of optimism and realism. An online survey of 205 Indonesian youths from various cities was conducted to gauge their perspectives on political participation, including their views on the 2024 general elections. They were asked to examine some sets of statements as descriptions and explanations of their political stances. The results suggest that urban youth in Indonesia are keen to be politically active, including in the 2024 general elections. They stay informed, regularly following political news and candidate debates, signalling hope for a healthier democracy. However, they remain pragmatic, recognising the flaws in politics, such as corruption, inefficient administration, and political dynasties, which they view as the “dirty side” of politics. This dual perspective reflects a more complex political stance, where youth are motivated to participate yet grounded in the reality of the political system’s imperfections.

Abstract

This research describes the Cimbingan tradition which is carried out once a year by visiting the graves of ancestors and cleaning and decorating the graves. Ethnic Chinese still strongly hold the belief to always honor ancestors, so this tradition is still carried out to this day. This research aims to reveal three important focuses, namely: the function and meaning of each equipment used, the worship procession of the Cimbingan tradition, and the symbolic meaning in the Cimbingan tradition. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptif. This research uses data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation with primary data sources and secondary data sources. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there is a meaning contained in each equipment used such as the meaning of candles and incense which means as a light for the ancestors in the afterlife, besides the offerings of food and drinks which means a form of attention from children to parents. Furthermore, afterlife money and duplicate items made of paper which means a form of fulfilling the needs of ancestors in the afterlife. Furthermore, the five-color paper means a form of description of the ancestors' homes in the afterlife. In addition, there are three stages in the procession of the Cimbingan tradition where there is a preparation stage, a prayer stage, and a closing stage. The meaning in this tradition is a form of filial piety of children to parents, where children still remember and show attention to parents even though parents are gone. Makna Simbolik Tradisi Cimbingan Pada Komunitas Etnis Tionghoa di Desa Turirejo Kecamatan Lawang Kabupaten Malang Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan mengenai tradisi Cimbingan yang dilaksanakan setahun sekalidengan mengunjungi makam para leluhur dan membersihkan serta menghias makam. EtnisTionghoa masih sangat memegang kepercayaan untuk selalu menghormati leluhur, sehinggatradisi ini tetap dilaksanakan sampai saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan tigafokus penting yakni : fungsi dan makna dari setiap perlengkapan yang digunakan, prosesisembayang tradisi Cimbingan, dan makna simbolik yang ada dalam tradisi Cimbingan. Metodeyang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yakni kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknikpengambilan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan sumberdata primer dan sumber data sekunder. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwaterdapat makna yang terkandung didalam setiap perlengkapan yang digunakan seperti maknapada lilin dan dupa yang bermakna sebagai penerang para leluhur di alam baka, selain itupersembahan makanan dan minuman yang bermakna bentuk perhatian anak kepada orangtua.Selanjutnya uang akhirat dan barang duplikat dari kertas yang bermakna sebagai bentukpemenuhan kebutuhan leluhur di alam baka. Selanjutnya kertas lima warna yang bermaknasebagai bentuk gambaran rumah para leluhur di alam baka. Selain itu terdapat tiga tahap dalamprosesi tradisi Cimbingan dimana terdapat tahap persiapan, tahap sembahyang, dan tahappenutupan. Makna yang ada dalam tradisi ini sebagai bentuk bakti anak kepada orangtua, dimanaanak tetap mengingat serta menunjukan perhatian kepada orangtua waluapun orangtua telahtiada.

Abstract

This article discusses the connection between gender and fashion style choices among university students. It highlights the role of socialization, enculturation, and internalization in shaping students' understanding of gender and their fashion preferences. Through a qualitative phenomenological approach, the study explores the experiences of gender socialization among students and examines the relationship between gender and fashion choices. The findings indicate that there is no direct link between gender and students' fashion style preferences. However, fashion is viewed as a medium for expressing one's gender identity. The study finds that students exhibit flexibility in their fashion choices, adapting them to social contexts, specific events, and personal comfort. Nevertheless, the influence of gender socialization, enculturation, and internalization acquired since childhood is evident in their fashion decisions. Overall, the research emphasizes the complexity and individuality of students' fashion style choices within the broader context of gender. Gender dan Pilihan Style Fashion pada Mahasiswa Artikel ini melihat bahwa konsep gender yang berlaku pada setiap mahasiswa didapatkan melalui sosialisasi, enkulturasi, internalisasi dari agen sosialisasi yang berbeda-beda. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengulas lebih dalam kaitan konsep gender dengan pilihan style fashion pada kelompok sosial yang khusus, yaitu mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-fenomenologi untuk menelusuri dan menggali pengalaman sosialisasi, internalisasi, dan enkulturasi gender para mahasiswa, dan kaitan antara hal itu dengan pilihan style fashion mereka. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa terdapat/tidak terdapat kaitan antara gender dan pilihan style fashion mahasiswa. Dalam hasil penelitian ini melihat fashion sebagai salah satu media dalam mengekspresikan identitas gender. Meskipun mahasiswa menunjukkan fleksibilitas dalam pilihan fashion dengan menyesuaikan dengan konteks sosial, acara tertentu, dan kenyamanan pribadi dengan berusaha untuk menerapkan sosialisasi, enkulturasi, dan internalisasi gender yang didapatkan sejak kecil.

Abstract

Mural media is one of the methods for children to express their motivation and convey their messages. The purpose of this research is to see how the motivation and also the sociological message conveyed by fostered children in LPKA through media murals. Previous research has a topic about messages conveyed through media murals in public spaces. In previous studies, the weaknesses found are the absence of an explanation of the specific deepening of the message of the mural created by fostered children. This study argues that children in conflict with the law have the right to express their voices through any media. The theoretical approach used in this study is Blumer's Symbolic Interactionism and McClelland's Achievement Motivation Theory. The data collection method used is participant observation and interviews with 15 children who participated in the training and mural painting process at the Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak Kelas 2 Jakarta. The results of the activity are the findings regarding the drive for achievement, the drive to achieve power/power and the drive for affiliation by the fostered children, and the existence of sociological messages that have special meaning from the mural works drawn by fostered children at LPKA Class 2 Jakarta.

Abstract

The discovery of a dichotomy between general science and religious science both in terms of theory and practice in the implementation of learning at the elementary / junior high school / high school / equivalent and university levels in Indonesia causes various problems. The purpose of this study is to find a hypothetical model of evaluating the integration of Islamic values in sociology learning in fostering Islamic character at SMA PGII 2 Bandung. This research uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method of case study types. The researcher acts as the main instrument. Data retrieval techniques with interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis techniques with data reduction, data coding, data display, interpretation of findings and drawing conclusions. Test the credibility of the data by extending the research time, increasing perseverance, triangulating data, using reference materials and focus group discussions. Based on the results of the study, the evaluation of the integration of Islamic values in sociology learning at SMA PGII 2 Bandung has not occurred comprehensively. The evaluation in sociology learning has been systematically planned. Aspects evaluated as well as planning in learning tools include aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The attitude evaluation instrument in sociology learning is almost the same as schools in general, namely using an attitude evaluation instrument based on the 2013 curriculum. However, in its implementation, the emphasis on evaluation is still dominant in the aspect of knowledge. The development of social attitudes and skills of students after participating in sociology learning integrated with Islamic values has not been felt thoroughly, because the attitudes assessed have not been integrated with ilāhiah values. On the other hand, the written evaluation of the integration of Islamic values in sociology learning at the level of material substance has not been integrated, because the teacher only evaluates the material as it is in the package book. Studi Analisis Evaluasi Integrasi Nilai-Nilai Islam pada Pembelajaran Sosiologi dalam Membina Karakter Islami Masih ditemukannya dikotomi antara ilmu umum dan ilmu agama baik dari segi teori dan praktek dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran di jenjang SD/SMP/SMA/sederajat dan perguruan tinggi di Indonesia menyebabkan berbagai problematika. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan model hipotetik evaluasi integrasi nilai-nilai Islam pada pembelajaran sosiologi dalam membina karakter Islami di SMA PGII 2 Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif jenis studi kasus. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrument utama. Teknik pengambilan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dengan reduksi data, koding data, display data, interpretasi temuan dan penarikan kesimpulan. Uji kredibilitas data dengan memperpanjang waktu penelitian, meningkatkan ketekunan, triangulasi data, menggunakan bahan referensi dan focus group discussion. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, evaluasi integrasi nilai-nilai Islam pada pembelajaran sosiologi di SMA PGII 2 Bandung belum terjadi secara komprehensif. Adapun evaluasi dalam pembelajaran sosiologi sudah direncanakan secara sistematis. Aspek yang dievaluasi sebagaimana perencanaan yang ada dalam perangkat pembelajaran mencakup aspek sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan. Instrumen evaluasi sikap pada pembelajaran sosiologi hampir sama dengan sekolah pada umumnya, yakni menggunakan instrumen evaluasi sikap berdasarkan kurikulum 2013. Namun dalam pelaksanaannya, penekanan evaluasi masih dominan aspek pengetahuan. Perkembangan sikap sosial dan keterampilan peserta didik setelah mengikuti pembelajaran sosiologi yang diintegrasikan dengan nilai-nilai Islam belum terasa secara menyeluruh, karena sikap yang dinilai belum terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai ilāhiah. Di sisi lain, evaluasi tertulis integrasi nilai-nilai Islam pada pembelajaran sosiologi dalam tataran substansi materi belum terintegrasi, karena guru hanya mengevaluasi materi sebagaimana yang ada dalam buku paket.
