Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effect of moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves extract given into drinking water to egg production of Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. The research was conducted in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan for three months, has begun in January to March. The design used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and six replications. The treatments are 0% of Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves extract given into drinking water as control (K0), 3% (K1), and 6% (K2). The research used 36 Lohmann Brown chicken with homogeneous conditioned. Variables obserbed were feed consumption, water consumption, feed coversion ratio (FCR), hen day production (HDP), egg production, total egg weight, and average egg weight. The results showed that the addition Moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves extract into drinking water at level 3% and 6% was significant (P<0,05) increase feed and drinking water consumption, egg total, hen day production (HDP), total egg weight and average egg weight but lowering feed conversion ratio (FCR) of Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. The conclusion of this research is giving moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaves extract at level 3% and 6% into drinking water can increase egg productions of Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. Abstract

The aims of this research was toknow the effect of thawing length on the quality of boar semen at Technical Service Unit (TSU) of Artificial Insemination Centre (AIC), Bali Province.The research was conducted for two months (April– May, 2018)in two different placeswereTSUof AIC Baturiti District,Tabanan and TSU ofAIC Buruan District,Gianyar-Bali.The material used were two landrace(2 years old) at TSU of AICBaturiti and the other two landrace (2 years old) at TSU of AIC Buruan. The researchused design Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatmentswere the first treatment (T1) was 3 minutesthawing length, the second treatment (T2)was5 minutes thawing length and the third treatmentwas 7 minutes thawing length,and each treatment consisted of 5 replications. Variables observed were volume, color, odor, consistency, pH, motility, concentration and viability.Results of the researchshowed that the T1, T2, and T3 were no change on volume, color, smell, and consistency.Whereas pH, motility, concentration and viability were significantdifference (P<0.05) within the treatmentT1, T2 and T3.It could be concluded that 5 minutes thawing length at TSU of AIC Baturiti was the best, while at TSU of AIC Buruan it was 3 minutes. Abstract

This study aimed to obtain information the response of grass Leersia hexandra Sw, Heteropogon contortus, and Chloris barbata at various dosage of urea and its interactions. This research was conducted at greenhouse in Sading Village, Mengwi Sub-district, Badung Regency, Bali. The study lasted for 10 weeks, using completely randomized design (CDR) split plot pattern consists of three main plot grass of Leersia hexandra sw, Heteropogon contortus, and Chloris barbata, then four subplots / subplots consist of urea fertilizer various dosages of 0 kg/ha (D0), 50 kg/ha (D1), 100 kg/ha (D2) and 150 kg/ha (D3) so there are 12 treatment combinations repeated four time so that there where 48 unit experiment. Variables observed were growth, production and characteristics plants. Results of the research significant interaction between the grass kind and fertilizer dosage to leaf area variable. HD3 treatment combination gives the highest while LD0 treatment combination gives the lowest of growth and production of local grass and urea fertilizer dosage. Showed kind of local grass significantly effect to leaf of number, tiller of number, leaf dry weight, stem dry weight, all forage dry weight, all forage dry wight with root dry weight and leaf area. The provision of urea fertilizer was significant effect to all variables except for plant height, root dry weight and dry weight of leaf ratio with stems ratio.Based on the result of research it can be concluded that there was local grass Heteropogon contortusgive the best result compared to the type off grass Leersia hexandra Sw and Chloris barbatain fertilazition urea. Urea fertilizer dosage 150 kg/ha give the best response of local grass. There was a significant interaction between the grass type and the fertilizer dosage leaf area. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the effect about growth and production of Paspalum notatum cv. competidor in various combination at different level of N, P, and Ca fertilizer. This research was conducted for 12 weeks at Greenhouse, Research Station of Animal Husbandry Faculty, Udayana University, Denpasar. This research is designed by Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 10 treatments combination and 3 repeatements, so there were 30 pots of experimental unit with various combinantion fertilizer. The treatments combination was consist: control or without any fertilizer involved; 100, 150, 200 kg/ha of N fertilizer; 50, 100 kg/ha of P fertilizer, and 50, 100 kg/ha of Ca fertilizer in certain combination has been designed. Variable observed were plant length, number of leaf, number of branches, leaf dry weight, branches dry weight, total foarage dry weight, ratio of leaf dry weight and branches dry weight, leaf area, and the last chlorophyle content. According to the result of this research is showed that all of variables have significant result based on statistic test (P < 0,05) unless plant length and chlorophyle content showed non significant result (P > 0,05) based on statistic test. According to this research, combination of fertilize N150 P50 Ca50is giving the best result based on all of observed variable. Keyword: Paspalum notatum cv. Abstract

This study aim was to find out the effect of noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) extract water given into drinking water to egg production of Lohmann Brown the age of 22-30 weeks. Research in Dajan Peken village, Tabanan sub-district-Bali for 3 months with 36 Lohmann Brown chicken the age of 22 week as material. The design used is complete randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Such treatment: without added noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract as control (A); B: with 2% noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract; and C; with 4% noni leaf (Morinda citrifolia L.) water extract. Variables obserbed were feed consumption, water consumption, feed converation ratio, total egg production, average egg weight and total egg weight. The results obtained were tested by multiple analysis from Duncan. The results showed that giving leaf water extract of noni leaf into drinking water at level 2% and 4% significantly able to increased feed consumption, water consumption, total egg production, average egg weight, total egg weight and reduced feed conversion ratio value on Lohmann Brown chicken the age of 22-30 weeks. The conclusion of this study is giving water extract of noni leaf at level 2% and 4% into drinking water can significantly increase egg production and reduced feed conversion ratio value of Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. Abstract

Kegiatan bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji manajemen pakan ayam arab petelur di UD Darma Puri Farm Desa Tangkas, Kecamatan Klungkung, Kabupaten Klungkung dalam pelaksanaan salah satu kegiatan praktek kerja mahasiswa/PKM Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Udayana. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 26 Oktober sampai dengan 16 November 2015 melalui wawancara, observasi dan praktek kerja langsung, Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa manajemen pemberian pakan ayam arab petelur di UD. Darma Puri Farm sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik. Kualitas pakan diperhatikan dengan baik dengan tujuan agar memenuhi kebutuhan dari ternak. Pakan yang diberikan berupa pakan jadi “Charoen 124p” dengan frekuensi pemberian 3 kali dalam sehari sebanyak ± 90 g/ekor/perhari. Prediksi konsumsi nutrien pakan ayam arab petelur tersebut yaitu protein kasar 32,4 g/e/h; lemak kasar 2,7 g/e/h; serat kasar 7,2 g/e/h; abu 27 g/e/h; kalsium 9 g/e/h dan fosfor 0,99 g/e/h. Pada PKM di UD. Darma Puri Farm mahasiswa terlibat aktif dalam seluruh rangkaian kegiatan pemeliharaan dan manajemen usaha ayam arab petelur serta mendapatkan tambahan wawasan dalam pengembangan usaha peternakan ayam arab petelur khususnya. Berdasarkan hasil kajian dapat disimpulkan bahwa manajemen pakan ayam arab petelur di UD. Darma Puri Farm sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik dan mahasiswa memperoleh tambahan pengetahuan, ketrampilan dan wawasan dalam pengembangan usaha peternakan khususnya ayam arab petelur Kata Kunci:Ayam Arab Petelur, Manajemen Pemberian Pakan,

Abstract

The efforts to increase grass production can be done with effective fertilization but not negative impact to the environment. Substitution of inorganic fertilizer with organic fertilizer is one effort that can be done to maintain the physical, chemical and biological soilcharacteristics.This experiment aims to determine the effect of urea fertilizer substitution with bio-slurry fertilizer on the growth and production of Stenotaphrum secundatum grass.The experiment was conducted at Greenhouse, Research Station of Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, Denpasar for 12 weeks. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with five combined treatments and five replications so that there were 25 pots of experimental unit. Combination treatmentconsists of B0: without bio-slurry fertilizer and urea fertilizer 300 kg/ha, B5: bio-slurry fertilizer 5 tons/ha and 250 kg/ha urea, B10: bio-slurry 10 tons/ha and 200 kg/ha urea, B15: bio-slurry fertilizer 15 tons/ha and 150 kg/ha urea, B20: bio-slurry fertilizer 20 tons/ha without urea fertilizer.Variables observed were growth, production and growth characteristics.The results showed that the substitution of urea fertilizer with bio-slurry fertilizer was significantly different (P <0.05) in variables of leaf number, number of branches, root length, leaf dry weight, dry weight of stem, total dry weight of forage, leaf dry weight ratio with dry weight of stem, leaf area and not significantly different (P>0.05) on variable length of segment, length of segment, number of tiller, root dry weight, root volume, top root ratio and chlorophyll content.Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the substitution of urea fertilizer 50% (150 kg / ha urea with 15 ton/ha bio-slurry) resulted in growth and production of Stenotaphrum secundatum grass which is not different from 100% urea fertilizer (300 kg / ha)Keywords:Fertilizer Substitution, Bio-Slurry, Growth,Production, Stenotaphrum secundatum

Abstract

This study aims to compare males through the quality of frozen semen produced in the Technical Service Unit of Artificial Insemination Center of Baturiti Region. This study used frozen semen from 10 bulls those frozen semen then were evaluated then sperm motility, concentration and percentage of sperm live were observed. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (RAL) and each treatment was repeated three times. The study showe that there was no signiticant difference (P>0.05) to all parameters observed of bulls rised at the center. Sperm concentration of all bulls ranged between 41.25x106 to 59.38x106 spermatozoa/ml. While sperm motility between 41.67% to 46.67% and the percentage live sperm, ranged between 21,05 to 32,50 %. It can be concluded that all the frozen semen produced from the bulls rised at the Technical Services Unit of the Baturiti Insemination Center is in good condition and can be used for insemination. Abstract

Eggs is one of the ingredients of animal origin that is of high nutritional value because it contains substances that are needed by the human body such as protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and has a high digestibility. Egg quality is a term that connects standards to a variety of eggs. Egg quality determination and measurement includes two things are exterior and interior quality. One effort made in improving the quality of chicken eggs can be done by adding katuk leaf water extract through drinking water. This research to determine the effect of katuk leaf water extract (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) through drinking water on the physical quality of chicken eggs Lohmann Brown aged 22-30 weeks for 12 weeks in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan, Bali. The design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and six replications. The treatments is chickens fed ration without addition of katuk leaf water extract in drinking water as control (K0), rationed chicken with addition of 3% katuk leaf water extract in drinking water (K1), and chicken fed with ration katuk leaf water extract 6% in drinking water (K2). The variables observed is egg weight, percentage of egg whites,percentage of egg yolk, percentage of eggshell and egg shell thickness. The results showed that on treatment of K1 and K2 significantly (P <0.05) increased egg weight, percentage of egg yolk, percentage of egg shelland egg shell thickness, compared with K0. But the percentage of white egg decrease compared to chicken that is not given katuk leaf water extract (K0). Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the provision of katuk leaf water extract (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) 3% and 6% through drinking water can increase egg weight, percentage of egg yolk, percentage of egg shell, eggshell thickness and a decrease in the percentage of egg white Lohmann Brown chicken aged 22-30 weeks. Abstract

This research was carried out to determine the effect of giving probiotics 0.3% Saccharomyces spp. Gb-7 and Gb-9 in rations on chicken egg production Lohmann Brown phase age 40-48 weeks. This research was carried out by farmers in Dajan Peken Village, Tabanan for 2 months. The design used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (CDR) with three treatments and six replications. The third treatments were chicken giving rations without probiotics as control (A); chickens given ration with the probiotic Saccharomyces spp. Gb-7 0.3% (B); and chickens given ration with the probiotic Saccharomyces spp. Gb-9 0.3% (C). The variables observed in this research were ration consumption, drinking water consumption, total egg weight, total number of eggs and FCR. The results showed chickens given ration with probiotics Saccharomyces spp. Gb-7 and Gb-9 that total egg weight and FCR chickens given probiotics Saccharomyces spp. Gb-7 and Gb-9 each had a significant (P<0.05) but on ration consumption, drink water consumption, and the number of eggs each had a non significant (P>0.05). From the results of this research it can be concluded that the granting of 0.3% of the probiotic Saccharomyces spp. Gb-7 and Gb-9 in ration Lohmann Brown can provide significant influence to the total weight of the egg and the FCR had non significant influence towards the consumption of rations, drinking water consumption, and the total number of eggs Lohmann Brown age 40-48 weeks.
