Abstract

This study aimed to in-vivo analyze the level of rumen fermentation of Bali cattle fed fermented rations by 3 types of lignocellulolytic bacterial inoculants from the Bali cattle colon and organic waste produced by Mudita et al. (2015) namely: inoculants with code BS12K12; BS12K1; and BS1K12.The research held at The Research Station Education Farm, Bukit Jimbaran, Badung, Bali and Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Animal, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University in 3 (three) months, with 4 (four) total collection periods. The research has been done by The Latin Square Design, with 4 (four) treatment and 4 periode researching as replicated. The treatments were: RB0 = bali cattle fed ration fermented without bacteria innoculant (fermented molasses solution as control), RB1=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS12K12, RB2=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS12K1, and RB3=bali cattle fed ration fermented bacteri innoculant BS1K12. The observation variables on this research are: pH, protozoa population, totally VFA and partial such as acetic acid, propionic acid, and butiric acid, and N-NH3 on the rumen fluid. The result of this research shows that the bali cattle fed ration fermented by inocullant of bali cattle colon and organic waste lignocellulolytic bacteria had increased (P<0,05) the rumen metabolism rate of bali cattle, especially N-NH3, propionatic acid and totally VFA, without effecting the pH and population of protozoa on the bali cattle rumen liquid. Abstract

The community service was conducted in Jungutan Village, Karangasem Regency and was aimed to improvethe farmers knowlegde especially the members of farmers groups about the utilization of leguminose forage asbasal ration for ruminant. The services was conducted on Sunday, 2nd September 2012 at Wana Sari Groups ofFarmers at Banjar Untalan, Jungutan Village, and attended by 20 from 24 total members of farmers’ groups(83.33%). The methods used were direct instruction and discussion to the farmers. Almost 43% members offarmers’ groups have been given leguminose besides grass and 57% only given grass as Bali cattle feed. The resultof the services showed that the farmer’s awareness and knowlegde improved to give leguminose forage such asGliricidia sepium, Caliandra callothyrsus, and Leucaena leucochepala, besides grass feeding as basal ration forBali cattle. The utilization of forage need to be applied because of high energy and protein content in leguminoseforage, therefore the dry matter consumption will improve. The nutrient requirement could fulfill and will impactto the improvement of Bali cattle growth and production.

Abstract

The experiment was carried out to study the response of additional leaves of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatasL.), noni (Morinda citrifolia L.) and betle (Piper betle L.) in diets on performance of bali duck. The experimentused completely randomized design with four treatments consists of control diet A (diet without leaves), diet B (dietcontaining with purple sweet potato leaf, diet C (diet containing noni leaf), and diet D (diet containing beetle leaf).Each treatment conducted with three replications and each replications consist of five ducks. The variables observedwere feed consumption, antioxidant consumption, body gain, and FCR and of bali ducks. Feed consumption of baliducks in treatment B, C and D were significantly lower, however, the antioxidant consumption significantly higherthan control diet. In contrast, body weight gain in treatments B, C and D increased significantly but decreased FCRcompared to treatment A. The treatments of B, C, and D can increase the carcass weight, and carcass percentagesignificantly. These were offered to bali ducks could increase percentage of meat and bone but significantly decreasefat of carcass including their skin for bali ducks fed with A (control treatment). It can concluded that the leaves ofpurple sweet potato, noni, and betle leaf in diets improved the performance and carcass of bali ducks.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan sekam padi difermentasi larutan EffectiveMicroorganism-4 (EM-4) dalam ransum disuplementasi daun sirih (Piper betle L.) terhadap performans dan karkasitik bali betina, umur 22 minggu. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan yaituransum tanpa sekam padi (A), ransum mengandung 12,50% sekam padi (B), ransum mengandung 12,50 % sekampadi difermentasi EM-4 (C), ransum mengandung 12,50% sekam padi dan daun sirih (D), serta ransum 12,50%sekam padi difermentasi EM-4 dan daun sirih (E). Setiap perlakuan terdiri atas empat ulangan dan setiap ulanganberisi lima ekor ituik bali betina, Variabel yang diamati konsumsi ransum, konsumsi antioksidan ransum, bobotbadan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan, feed conversion ratio dan karkas meliputi bobot potong, bobot karkas danpersentase karkas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian 12,50 % sekam padi difermentasi EM-4 sertadisuplementasi daun sirih tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi ransum(P>0,05), namun dapat menghasilkanbobot badan akhir, pertambahan bobot badan lebih tinggi (P<0,05), serta FCR yang lebih rendah (P<0,05) sertabobot karkas dan persentase karkas yang lebih baik daripada perlakuan yang lainnya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwapemberian sekam padi yang difermentasi EM-4 serta disuplementasi daun sirih dapat memperbaiki performansdan karkas yang lebih baik daripada perlakuan yang lainnya.

Abstract

Penyediaan pakan berkesinambungan dan berkualitas sangat penting untuk meningkatkan produktivitasternak. Batang pisang yang tersedia melimpah dan murah dapat ditingkatkan daya gunanya sebagai sumberpakan berkualitas melalui teknologi silase dengan penambahan hijauan Clitoria ternatea. Penelitian inimengkombinasikan batang pisang dengan hijauan C. ternatea dibuat dalam bentuk selase complete feedmelalui penambahan pollar, molasis dan EM4 ke dalam empat perlakuan. Kontrol (perlakuan A): 65%batang pisang + 30% pollar + 5% (molasis + EM4); perlakuan B: 55% batang pisang + 10% C. ternatea+ 30% pollar + 5% (molasis + EM4); perlakuan C: 45% batang pisang + 20% C. ternatea + 30% pollar +5% (molasis + EM4); dan perlakuan D: 35% batang pisang + 30% C. ternatea + 30% pollar + 5% (molasis+ EM4). Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas tiga ulangan. Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk mendapatkankombinasi silase batang pisang dan hijauan C. ternatea yang terbaik melalui pengamatan kualitas fisik,sifat pisik, kandungan nutrien dan kecernaan secara in vitro. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakanAnova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan kandungan nutrisi, kecernaan bahan kering danbahan organik serta penurunan komponen penghambat kecernaan secara in vitro. Kesimpulan penelitian iniadalah, penambahan C. ternatea dalam silase batang pisang sampai 30% menghasilkan kandungan bahanorganik, protein kasar, energi, kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik tertinggi dan kandungan seratkasar terendah. Abstract

Waste of Aloevera is one of the agriculture wastes which have highly potential for Bali cattle feed supplement, so that research in order to learn the effect of supplementation of Aloevera as High Quality Feed Supplement (HQFS) is needed. Twenty male Bali cattle were used in this experiment, which weight range between 191 – 232 kg. Feed for cattle consisted of rice straw, concentrate and feed supplement in form of Hight Quality Feed Supplement (HQFS) which mixed from sea grass and waste of aleovera. Randomized Block Design was applied in this experiment with 4 repetitions. Treatment A was ad lib of rice straw + 2 kg of concentrate, Treatment B was ad lib of rice straw + 2 kg of concentrate + 150 g HQFS, Treatment C was ad lib of rice straw + 2.5 kg of concentrate + 150 g HQFS, Treatment D was ad lib of rice straw + 3 kg of concentrate + 150 g HQFS and Treatment E was ad lib of rice straw + 3 kg of concentrate. Results of this experiment showed that supplementation of HQFS tended to decrease feed consumption and methan production, meanwhile supplementation of HQFS could increase diets efficiency and therefore increased the growth of cattle. HQFS supplementation gave more effective response at lower quality diets meanwhile in good quality diets gave no positive effect.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian gamal dengan kaliandra (Calliandra calothyrsus) pada ransum terhadap degradasi rumen secara in-vitro. Penelitian mengunakan rancangan acaklengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan sehingga terdapat 15 unit percobaan. Adapun kelima perlakuan tersebut adalah: perlakuan A (ransum basal + 20% gamal), B (ransum basal + 15% gamal + 5% kaliandra), C (ransum basal + 10% gamal + 10% kaliandra ), D (ransum basal + 5% gamal + 15 % kaliandra ), dan E (ransum basal + 20% kaliandra ). Peubah yang diamati adalah: degradasi ransumdalam cairan rumen in-vitro (kecernaan bahan kering [KCBK], kecernaan bahan organik [KCBK]), degradasi ransum dalam pepsin in-vitro (KCBK, KCBO), kadar ammonia, kadar VFA (Vollatyl Fatty Acid) dan pH cairanrumen in-vitro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggantian daun gamal dengan daun kaliandra sampai tingkat 20% dalam ransum, dapat menurunkan kecernaan bahan kering dan organik dalam rumen, tetapisebaliknya meningkatkan kecernaan bahan kering dan organik dalam pepsin in-vitro. Disamping itu dapat menurunkan kadar N-NH3 dan VFA, tetapi meningkatkan pH cairan rumen in-vitro. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tanin kaliandra dapat dipakai sebagai agen proteksi dari degradasi mikroorganisme rumen in-vitro di dalam ransum, dan penggunaan kaliandra sampai 20% dalam ransum sebagai protek protein ransum dapatmenghasilkan kecernaan bahan kering dan bahan organik pepsin in-vitro tertinggi.

Abstract

A Research had been carried out to reduce the pollutant emission of the Ettawa Crossbreed Goat given ration non-conventional waste at Farm of Animal Husbandry Faculty Udayana University, Bukit Jimbaran. Bio-fermentation of rumen liquor (1.5% and 3.0%) and supplementation of pignox as source of multivitamin-mineral (0.15% and 0.30%) and Animal Fat “Tallow” (5% and 10%) were applied in this experiment. Fifteen Goat of Ettawa Crossbreed were used in this experiment which designed of Randomized Block Designed with five treatments and three blocks. The treatments were; WFS0 are ration unconventional waste without bio-fermentation and supplementation, WF1S11 are WFS0 fermented by 1.5% rumen liquor and supplemented by 0.15% multivitamin-mineral and 5 % Tallow, WF2S12 are WSF0 fermented by 3,0% rumen liquor and supplemented by 0.15% multivitamin-mineral dan 10 % Tallow, WF1S21 are WFS0 fermented by 1.5% rumen liquor and supplemented by 0.30% multivitamin-mineral and 5 % Tallow and WF2S22 are WFS0 fermented by 3.0% rumen liquor and supplemented by 0.30% multivitamin-mineral and 10 % Tallow. The result showed that application of bio-fermentation and supplementation technology (WF1S11, WF2S12, WF1S21 and WF2S22) were significant decreased (P<0.05) the concentration and production methane emission each totally VFA are 18.57 – 39.57% and 20.15 – 40.45%, production of CO2 each totally VFA are 2.51 – 13.29%, production of fecal ammonia (42.59–61.11%) and percentage of production fecal ammonia each g crude protein consumption (10.20–51,02%) compared with WFS0, in spite of concentration of CO2 in rumen fluid, concentration and production urine ammonia were similar (P>0.05) in all treatments. Goat were given WF1S11 produced fecal ammonia each day and percentage of production fecal ammonia each g consumption of crude protein were lowest (P<0.05) are 0.021 Vs 0.024-0.054 g/d and 0.024 Vs 0.033-0.049%, even though lowest methane concentrations, production of methane and CO2 emmision each mM total VFA produced by WF1S21 were 13.376 Vs 17.410-28.762 mM; 19.738 Vs 20.850-33.147 % and 45.657 Vs 46.720–52.655%. It was concluded that; 1) Application of bio-fermentation and supplementation technology in ration unconventional can reduce pollutant emission of the ettawa crossbreed goat, 2) Bio-fermentation of 1.5% rumen liquor and supplementation of 0.15 – 0.30% multivitamin-mineral and 5% Tallow in the ration unconventional waste can lowest produced of NH3 fecal each crude protein consumption, CH4 concentration, production of CH4 and CO2 each mM total VFA of rumen fluid.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kandungan ransum ayam broiler fase finisher yang difermentasi menggunakan bakteri probiotik lignoselulolitik sebagai upaya pengganti AGPs. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Sesetan dan Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Udayana pada bulan Mei hingga Juni 2021. Rancangan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah ransum ayam broiler tanpa inokulan bakteri probiotik lignoselulolitik sebagai kontrol (AB0), ransum ayam broiler menggunakan inokulan bakteri Bacillus subtilis BR4LG sebanyak 5% dari total ransum (AB1), ransum ayam broiler menggunakan inokulan bakteri Bacillus sp. BT3CL sebanyak 5% dari total ransum (AB2), ransum ayam broiler menggunakan inokulan bakteri Bacillus sp.BT8XY sebanyak 5% dari total ransum (AB3). Variabel yang diamati yaitu bahan kering (BK), bahan organik (BO), abu, protein kasar (PK), serat kasar (SK) dan lemak kasar (LK) serta energi bruto (GE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bakteri probiotik lignoselulolitik pada ransum memberikan perbedaan nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bahan kering, protein kasar, serat kasar dan lemak kasar, sedangkan terhadap bahan organik dan abu memberikan hasil tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) dibandingkan kontrol (AB0). Pada hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ransum yang difermentasi menggunakan bakteri probiotik lignoselulolitik dapat meningkatkan kandungan nutrisi seperti protein kasar (21,70%), dan energi bruto (4,01 Kkal/g) akan tetapi tidak mempengaruhi bahan organik (90,15%), abu (10,80%). Ransum yang difermentasi menggunakan bakteri probiotik lignoselulolitik mampu menurunkan serat kasar (2,92%) dan lemak kasar (7,92%). Kata kunci: fermentasi, bakteri lignoselulolitik, ayam broiler, fase finisher, kandungan nutrisi.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the physical properties, digestibility, and metabolite products in-vitro of biosupplements using lignocellulolytic bacterial biocatalysts. This study was conducted at the Sesetan Farm and the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Forage, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Udayana University, which was conducted from January to March 2020. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 6 treatments, namely biosupplement without biocatalysts of lignocellulolytic bacteria as control (BS0) , using the bacterium Bacillus substilis BR4LG (BS1) biocatalyst, using the bacterial Bacillus substilis BR2CL (BS2) biocatalyst, using the Aneurinibacillus sp. bacterial biocatalyst. BT4LS (BS3), using a bacterial biocatalyst Bacillus sp. BT3CL (BS4), and using a bacterial biocatalyst Bacillus sp. BT8XY (BS5). Each treatment had 3 replications. The variables observed were physical properties, digestibility, and metabolite products. Data were analyzed using variance. The results showed that quantitative BS2 treatment resulted in the highest density and water absorption of 0.50 g / ml and 135.05%, respectively (P> 0.05) and resulted in the highest KcBK of 71.07% (P <0 , 05). The BS3 treatment resulted in the highest KcBO and VFA total, respectively 71.35% and 189.89 mM (P <0.05). BS4 treatment resulted in the highest N-NH3 of 16.73 mM (P <0.05). Quantitative BS5 treatment resulted in water solubility of 75.27% (P> 0.05). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of lignocellulolytic bacterial biocatalysts could not improve physical properties, but was able to increase the in-vitro digestibility of dry matter and organic matter and metabolite products (VFA and N-NH3) from biosupplements. The best bacterial biocatalyst in this study was Aneurinibacillus sp. BT4LS for being able to produce the highest KcBO and VFA Total.
